S5:E06 - Jess and Jared recap and discuss “Fun & Games." We begin this one with saying hello to our friend Regina, and giving a shout out to Coulson sitting in the director's chair for this episode. We find out about what May's been up to, but first we get to know a future kid named Flint a lot better by getting a look at his life in the Lighthouse. He barters with Grill, and Grill shows a little bit more compassion and generosity than he has until this point. We're extremely derailed by a Rizzoli Isles DVD cameo (?!) for a moment, but it was worth it for the laughs. The Kree find Flint and take him away, and through talking to Tess we learn that the Kree are "harvesting" the children, meaning they're taking Inhuman kids to activate their powers and use them in gladiatorial combat. Fitz's Boushh-like marauder identity is called Boshtok. Coincidence? Also, we talk about how the show has evolved so slowly that we never really noticed it had become Star Wars/Star Trek level sci-fi. We talk a little about how Joel Stoffer, AKA Enoch, is joining Stranger Things for the next season, and how this episode is where we really started to dig our Chromicom friend.‪‪ Fitz has infiltrated the Kree nobility dining with Kasius before they watch a battle in the arena, and tries to connect with Jemma, but has no idea that the Kree have already made her unable to hear him. Kasius explains what's up with Jemma being a time traveling servant to Fitz, and fetishizes Jemma a bit, and its all very gross and weird. Fitz plays up his morally ambiguous marauder character, and Kasius lays down what the harvest of the Inhuman population is all about. Meanwhile, Flint is worried about being exposed to the mists a couple years early, and Yo-Yo feels for them, relating her own experiences with the trauma of Terrigenesis. We learn that Kasius was exiled from Hala and his brother inherited their empire. Daisy and the mind-reading Inhuman Ben are talking, and he is resigned to living as a slave to the Kree, and warns Daisy that he won't hold back if they have to fight. Fitz covers for not eating alien slug by acting like he hates the super rich, and it was some quick thinking, and had a ring of truth to it. The super douchey Kree/alien rich dude, Gaius Ponarian, in this episode, is played by character actor Patrick Fabian, and he was on EVERYTHING over the years, *including* Rizzoli and Isles. Flint was spared by Yo-Yo, and Coulson figured it out, and they explain to him that Yo-Yo is an Inhuman as well, and Flint reveals that the other humans are told that Inhumans are treated really well. Flint asks if Mack's an Inhuman too, but Yo-Yo explains that he's just "really cool." Damn right! Yo-Yo and Mack are starting to bond with Flint, taking him under their wing. Kasius finds Fitz's grim cover identity "refreshing," relating to his apparent rage, sociopathy, and cruelty. He gives Fitz a front row seat for the arena, but Ben doesn't fight another Inhuman, he faces off against May! Kasius gets information about his family, and we begin to see that Kasius is an outcast, and for all his power on the station over humans, he is not well liked in Kree society, and owes his position to a caste system. What's made clear is that no one on the station wants to be there. We make some unavoidable parallels between Kasius and Trump, but the less said there the better. Ben's telepathy makes him a formidable match for May, able to predict her every move. He's not cruel, but he's ruthless, and completely devoid of hope. May makes eye contact with Fitz, who disrupts the fight and gets it cancelled, and May sent to the Earth's surface. Is Fitz's cover less a cover, and more him relating to Kasius through his time in the Framework? Grill asks Tess if she's seen Flint, and threatens her with severe consequences, but she denies knowing anything. Yo-Yo and Mack relate to Flint, Yo-Yo explaining her own Terrigenesis, and Mack revealing how much he loves tacos (what kind of future has no tacos?). Yo-Yo's characterization is excellent, and she's given more space to be a fully realized character independent from her relationship with Mack. We reflect on Yo-Yo's development, and how it's been strong, but hasn't gotten as much time as many other characters. Our conclusion: we wasted SO much time on Lincoln. Grill shows up and says he was on to them, knows that Yo-Yo took Flint, and plans to sell him to Kasius. Kasius knows that Ben betrayed him and deceived him, and he has Sinara make a public example of him. Daisy says it was her fault and Kasius says he will deal with her later. Flint's powers respond to his reaction to Grill torturing Mack and Yo-Yo. Daisy and Jemma talk a little about Fitz being hot as a bounty hunter/marauder, but Jemma prefers him in a cardigan. Flint uses his powers to protect them from Grill, but accidentally kills him with a boulder. Fitz is furious that he can't bid on Daisy, but Kasius insists it will be more interesting to add his brother to the mix. The Kree miss the team hiding behind Grill's door, and somehow go unnoticed. Kasius's douchey brother arranges for Daisy to fight against Sinara, intending to sacrifice her to show Daisy's power. Coulson and Mack look for Tess and find her dead, left to draw out Flint, and it's pretty much horrible fridging, and not acceptable. Kasius's brother "Faulnak" (?) is initially unimpressed with Daisy, but she kicks all sorts of ass, though it doesn't really phase Sinara's badass self. Fitz, Jemma and Daisy go ape shit, and Fitz kills a bunch of folks in the arena box, and Jemma slits Kasius's throat and then escapes with Fitz in a fairly Star Wars-y move. Enoch pretends to be a Kree in the last moments of the episode, and is absolutely hilarious when doing so. And now, as always, Black Lives Matter. A Distant Star! Ben and Johnny get blasted by Reed’s Power-Ray while prepping for Reed and Sue’s wedding Alicia tells Reed that Sue is distraught over the death of her father in issue 32/Episode 1 Reed decides that they need to go seek vengeance for Franklin Storm’s death On the Skrull Capital World, Princess Anelle and Warlord Morrat talk. Annelle is upset at how terrible Morrat is but she thirsty Reed convinces NASA to let the FF borrow a rocket, which is way better than Grand Theft Saturn They use the Power-Ray to punch a hole into subspace and arrive at the Skrull homeworld. The FF are immediately beset upon by Skrull soldiers, and their powers are out of control! Morrat captures the FF, Anelle tells him that he must inform her father, the Emperor. Morrat says he will but shifty dudes gonna shift. Anelle mentions to her father about Morrat capturing the FF and Emperor Dorrek suspects treason. Reed zaps Ben, Johnny, and Sue with the Power-Ray before Morrat can stop him, then Reed gets blasted with it, but now it’s revealed that the FF have all their powers back. Reed is quite heroic and smart in this scene The Emperor arrives with the Royal Guard and executes Morrat but Anelle is caught in the crossfire. She’s saved by Sue. The Emperor is grateful that his daughter is safe so he grants the FF a boon, they ask for Skrull responsible for Franklin Richards death and the Emperor is delighted because that was Morrat’s fault and Morrat is already dead. Thor 142: The Scourge of the Super-Skrull Loki is banished to another space-time continuum and decides to seek vengeance on Thor by tricking the Super-Skrull to attack him Kl’rt rushes to Earth and initiates a brawl with Thor Sif is awesome and doesn’t get enough respect, but she’s a LEGIT BOSS Super-Skrull threatens to go full on nova level so Thor hits him with some hurricain level rain and wind to knock him down a peg, see the visual companion for this rad image! It’s Hammer Time and Thor pummles Kl’rt before using Mjolnir to generate an Anti-Force to banish Super-Skrull from Earth Loki is extremely salty and it’s great Thor 146 Backup: The Origin of the Incomparable Inhumans This is a longer story but we’re only covering the first two bits In prehistoric times some humans developed faster than others and formed an advanced civilization. They called it Attilan, the hidden city Randac, the King of Attilan discovers the Terrigen Mists and through the process of Terrigenesis develops superpowers Thor 147 Backup: The Reason Why A Kree Sentry remarks that it’s time for the Second Phase as it’s heading to Attilan and being pelted by some of the primitive humans Sentry reflects that it’s been tasked to guard a Kree Base, even if it takes 1,000 years He finds Attilan and is glad that the Kree experiment of speeding the development of a group of humans was successful The Attilanians hope the Sentry comes in peace so they can learn from him. King Randac emerges from the Terrigen mist unharmed but with powers Turns out, the Sentry is none-other than Sentry 459! S4:E07 - Jess and Jared recap and discuss "Deals with Our Devils." We start with a brief aside about Jess’s dad’s time in Vietnam, and catch up with the team fighting against a Darkhold empowered, godlike Eli. And this is while is going on and Coulson, Fitz, and Robbie are presumed dead, we find that they're not dead at all, but in a ghost-like state, trapped out of sync with reality. The ongoing separation of Fitz and Simmons has manifested physically, and we begin to see how the same tragically star-crossed love story is echoed with May and Coulson. Oh yeah, and the Ghost Rider can't be trapped in the other dimension, so he takes Mack for a joyride, and Mack takes his motorcycle for revenge, and Daisy tries to contain things and help free him from the Rider's control while the crew in the other dimensions tries to communicate. Jemma assists the Inhuman in completing Terrigenesis for Senator Nadeer, and Aida receives a Darkhold-derived upgrade she uses to bring Coulson, Robbie and Fitz back. It's all "Fun and Games" until someone gets their friends sold into slavery. Fitz is hoping to be the savior as he poses as a vicious marauder in hopes to get a chance to bid on Daisy when Kasius demonstrates her powers. Plus, the good guys need to protect a young Lighthouse resident named Flint, who has just been forced to go through Terrigenesis so Kasius can sell more Inhumans too. As Fitz waits for his opportunity to strike, he tries to make contact with everyone and is forced to watch May and Daisy fight for their life in the arena. Coulson and the others try to protect their new friend Flint, a young Inhuman that Kasius harvested to sell. But they get caught by Grill and it looks like it's over for them until Flint's powers emerge. Now everyone's cover is blown and they're on the run again. Jay and Josh struggle to survive in a society with no tacos on this week's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: Case Files.

Undercover Fitz has arrived at the Lighthouse just in time to bid on Inhuman combatants while others are preparing to be put through Terrigenesis. Pete and Matt make time for episode 506, "Fun & Games."MP3iTunes

The entire royal family "...And Finally: Black Bolt" have done so much to get back Attilan from Maximus. Max has rigged the dome to fail if he doesn't scan his hand every hour. So Black Bolt has to find a way to get him back to the control room without being caught. Gorgon is going on a rampage after awakening from his second Terrigenesis and when he's caught by Max's guards, Karnak has to keep a close eye on him. Medusa returns to Earth to ask Louise for help in finding a place for the refugees of Attilan, should the city fall. And once it is clear that there is no other option, Eldrac starts transporting them there. So it comes down to brother against brother as the Inhumans lunar refuge comes to an end. We will be here every week to rate and review comic book tv shows and movies. There's a lot of new events ahead that we will cover this year, like Gifted, the Justice League movie and the CW four-way crossover "Crisis on Earth X". We are a spoiler-filled podcast, meaning we like to discuss the source materials for the shows we cover. So be warned, and feel free to skip around. In this episode, we cover the two-part premiere of the new ABC Series Marvel's Inhumans, and the first 2 episodes of Gotham season 4 Marvel's Inhumans This show raises a lot of questions. The biggest question being: why should we care about the Inhuman Royal Family? Something just seems off about the show, but I can see them trying to build to something epic. Overall, it does not quite meet the expectations for a show that premiered in IMAX theatres. Gotham It is hard to deny how cool it was to see both Selena and Bruce fighting in the streets, and seeing Bruce's costume evolve was a highlight. For the villains, Penguins crime licenses are amazingly stupid but straight out of a comic book. As for Scarecrow. He's really off looking, and scythe doesn't look sharp, but it's a good, not so high-level villain to face. In addition, the mob element was a highlight of season 1, so it's great to see Falcone may return Sadly, Barbara's return is tiring and the lack of spine for the cops was frustrating. It feels like the GCPD goes from corrupt to clean every few seasons, but it's a good place for Jim to come in as the commissioner he needs to be.
