Fonte: Redação Acast: "a discussão de formato já era" - e os números confirmam O relatório anual Podcast Pulse 2026, divulgado essa semana pela Acast, decreta que a queda de braço entre áudio e vídeo perdeu o sentido: 78% dos ouvintes já consomem podcast em dois ou mais formatos, e 88% intercalam áudio e vídeo dependendo do momento - contra só 10% que ficam exclusivamente no áudio. 63% inclusive começam um episódio num formato e terminam em outro, trocando de app no meio do caminho. Do lado da publicidade, a recomendação de marca feita pelo próprio apresentador de podcast foi a única fonte de confiança que cresceu entre os ouvintes (42%, alta de 9 pontos), enquanto jornalistas, youtubers e celebridades patinaram ou caíram. A conclusão do estudo resume bem o momento: não é mais o formato que define como a marca ganha atenção, é o contexto. Fonte: Acast / Podnews Vídeo muda a descoberta, não o consumo, avisa a Triton Digital Enquanto a Acast fala em fim da rivalidade de formatos, Sharon Taylor, diretora de receita da Triton Digital, fez uma distinção importante: o vídeo mudou a forma como a gente descobre podcast, não como a gente efetivamente consome. Segundo o relatório 2025 da Triton, 80% dos ouvintes mensais assistem E escutam, 13% ficam só no áudio e apenas 7% consomem exclusivamente vídeo - e esse público combinado não vem encolhendo. Um detalhe interessante é que os novos ouvintes são mais jovens, com idade média de 35 anos contra 43 dos veteranos, e cita rede social, como o TikTok, como fonte de descoberta nove vezes mais que o ouvinte antigo. A recomendação da Sharon Taylor pra quem produz é tratar vídeo como expansão, não como substituição - e evitar montar uma estrutura de produção paralela quando dá pra aproveitar um arquivo único com padrões como o HLS da Apple. Fonte: CastNews AINDA EM NOTÍCIAS DA SEMANA Apple confirma vídeo nas assinaturas do Podcasts - e a mudança é grande Na última quarta dia 23 de setembro a Apple anunciou que o Apple Podcasts Subscriptions vai passar a suportar vídeo, permitindo que quem assina ofereça episódio exclusivo em vídeo, versão sem anúncio, acesso antecipado e conteúdo bônus - tudo dentro da mesma assinatura, em mais de 170 países e regiões. A empresa está trabalhando com as plataformas de hospedagem parceiras pra colocar o recurso no ar, com mais detalhes prometidos pros próximos meses. É a maior das big techs de podcast dizendo, na prática, que vídeo dentro de assinatura paga deixou de ser experimento. Fonte: MacRumors Spotify Partner Program finalmente ganha data pro Brasil O Spotify confirmou que o Partner Program - que remunera criadores por consumo de vídeo de assinante Premium, além da publicidade no plano gratuito - chega ao Brasil em 20 de outubro. O critério de entrada é ter o podcast hospedado no Spotify for Creators, ter no mínimo 12 episódios publicados, 10 mil horas de consumo e 2 mil ouvintes únicos nos últimos 30 dias. Quem entra mantém 100% da receita de patrocínio próprio e ganha ferramentas pra trocar anúncios sem precisar reeditar o episódio. Segundo Camila Justo, head de podcasts do Spotify no Brasil, o país virou prioridade pela velocidade com que abraçou o vídeo. A ferramenta chega e permanece uma dúvida antiga: resta ver se esses critérios de elegibilidade não vão deixar de fora justamente quem mais precisa da grana. Fonte: CastNews Apple e Google lucram com apps que tiram anúncio de podcast O Podnews expôs que Apple e Google embolsam até 30% da receita de apps como o Podtastic, que cobra US$ 9,99 por mês pra remover anúncio de podcast automaticamente, direto no aparelho - inclusive falsificando o user-agent do Safari pra escapar de bloqueio de publisher. Como a remoção acontece no próprio dispositivo do ouvinte, hospedagem nenhuma consegue impedir isso tecnicamente. Nem Apple nem Google tiraram o app da loja até agora. Resumindo o incentivo: enquanto tiver comissão de loja envolvida, qualquer ética de plataforma vai sempre perder pra valor de acionista. Fonte: Podnews E MAIS Threads lança ferramentas dedicadas a podcast O Threads, do Meta, lançou nesta semana um pacote de recursos pensado direto pra quem produz podcast: dá pra conectar o feed RSS e o link do programa ao perfil, publicar com um botão dedicado que já mostra a capa do programa, destacar trechos usando transcrição e marcar convidados, além de acompanhar uma nova métrica de "cliques no podcast" no painel de estatísticas. Do lado de quem ouve, dá pra salvar episódio pra depois e receber notificação quando um programa seguido publica novidade. Segundo a plataforma, a ideia é virar vitrine de descoberta pra podcasts, não hospedagem - e isso é uma boa notícia pra quem já usa o Threads pra divulgar episódios e cortar clipes. Fonte: CastNews Gasto de anunciante de IA em podcast dispara 2.656% em um mês Dado da Magellan AI mostrado pela RAIN News: a Quince liderou o ranking de anunciantes de agosto com US$ 7,6 milhões, apostando pesado em comédia - mas o salto mais chamativo foi o da OpenAI, que foi de US$ 174 mil em julho pra US$ 4,8 milhões em agosto, alta de 2.656% em um único mês. É estimativa, não valor fechado, mas o tamanho do salto já entrega o recado: a empresa de IA descobriu o podcast como canal de mídia e tá pisando fundo! Dan Granger, CEO da Oxford Road, resumiu bem o problema que o índice tenta resolver: "Confusão é ruim pros negócios; hoje a gente transforma o anunciante em detetive de CSI só pra entender se o anúncio dele funcionou". Mais uma tentativa de tirar padrão de mensuração da bagunça - o teste de verdade é ver quantos players do mercado realmente adotam. É o primeiro grande acordo assinado por Nadine Zylstra, a nova diretora de conteúdo da NPR, e vem em formato de vídeo - outro sinal de que até emissoras de rádio públicas já entraram de vez na disputa por talento de podcast. The broadcaster has four networks and 90 local stations. Radio is 101 years old in Indonesia: the first station in the country broadcast in Dutch,.I've been in Indonesia for the past week at Radiodays Asia. You can find a bunch of interviews in the RadioToday podcast - and more to come in RD. The Radiodays Europe Podcast too. I do enjoy the event: there's plenty going on in Asia that doesn't get the coverage it deserves. Next year, the event will be in Taipei, Taiwan - a place I've never been: should be fascinating.While in Indonesia, I took my ludicrously geeky radio with me, and tuned around the dial one afternoon. I discovered Padel Corner 89.6FM - a radio station that seemingly is run by a sports club in the city, with music and an advert for the sports club itself (I can tell you it has six padel courts, a sauna and it does food). I wonder how those licences work - an interesting idea, if you can keep the costs low enough, to run your own service on the FM dial!In the UK, there's real concern that turning off television broadcasts could put radio services at risk. Radiocentre has released some research suggesting that transmission costs for radio broadcasters could increase by more than 50%. They've not shared the full research, and I'm surprised that it's only a 50% increase - but even so, it's a real concern, especially if that happens in 2034, one of the dates being considered. I wonder if this has been costed in other countries? More on the Laguardia crash from the NTSB and ASDE-X; a near-collision at LAX involving a Frontier flight and two trucks; a United Airlines plane struck two de-icing trucks; the FAA requested funding for 2,300 controller trainees; a Navy MQ-4C Triton reconnaissance drone went missing; and air taxis are coming to Utah. Aviation News Seconds before LaGuardia crash, controller cleared the fire truck to cross the runway, NTSB says The NTSB has determined that a LaGuardia Airport air traffic controller cleared the fire truck to cross a runway 12 seconds before the Air Canada flight touched down. The two pilots were killed in the resulting collision. The NTSB has yet to identify how this was allowed to happen. Unanswered questions: Are two overnight duty controllers enough? Why didn't a runway warning system sound an alert? Who was coordinating air and ground traffic? Did the fire truck hear the controller's last-second pleas to stop? LaGuardia has an advanced surface surveillance system called Airport Surface Detection Equipment, Model X (ASDE-X). This system displays the locations of planes and vehicles to the Controllers. The fire truck didn't have a transponder, but the emergency vehicles behind it stopped in time. Possibly, the close proximity of the vehicles merging kept the system from triggering an alarm. ASDE-X is a surveillance system that uses radar, multilateration, and satellite technology to allow air traffic controllers to track the surface movement of aircraft and vehicles. It was developed to help reduce critical Category A and B runway incursions. ASDE-X overview from FAA presentation. The ASDE-X collects data from a variety of sensors: Surface surveillance radar located on top of the air traffic control tower and/or surface surveillance radar located on a remote tower Multilateration (MLat) sensors located around the airport Airport Surveillance Radars, such as the Mode S Automatic Dependent Surveillance — Broadcast (ADS-B) sensors Terminal automation system to obtain flight plan data. Multilateration (MLat) sensors determine an object’s position by measuring the time differences of signals received from multiple known locations. They are commonly used in applications such as air traffic control and navigation to accurately track the locations of vehicles or devices. Frontier Airlines Pilots ‘Slam On the Brakes' to Avoid Colliding With Two Trucks at Los Angeles International Airport Frontier Airlines flight F9-3216, an Airbus A321, was taxiing for departure at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) when it encountered two trucks that cut it off. To avoid a collision, the pilots were forced to “slam on the brakes.” The Frontier pilot told LAX controllers, “It happened so fast, both of us are like holy shit and slammed on the brakes… I might have to call the flight attendants, make sure everyone is alright in the back. It was real close… close as I've ever seen.” Plane suffered ‘substantial’ damage after hitting de-icing trucks at Denver airport On March 6, 2026, a United Airlines plane struck two de-icing trucks at Denver International Airport (DIA) as it was taxiing out of the de-icing pad. No on-board injuries occurred, although one de-icing agent suffered minor injuries. The plane suffered substantial damage. There was some confusion about whether the plane had been cleared to leave the de-icing pad. FAA proposes to hire 2,300 air traffic controllers in budget request At the end of September, the FAA employed 13,164 air traffic controllers, about 3,500 short of the targeted staffing level. The FAA's fiscal 2027 budget request proposes funding to hire 2,300 air traffic controller trainees, with about $95.4 million earmarked for that effort. A WSOC Charlotte, SC video reports that gamers are being offered paid training and other incentives if they apply. Navy MQ-4C Triton's Fate Unknown After Disappearing From Flight Tracking Over Persian Gulf Open-source tracking indicates the surveillance drone suddenly turned toward Iran and transmitted the universal 7700 emergency code. It descended from more than 50,000 feet toward approximately 9,000 feet, then disappeared from public tracking networks. The Northrop Grumman MQ-4C Triton is the maritime version of RQ-4 Global Hawk. It is a high-altitude long-endurance (HALE) unmanned surveillance aircraft flown by the United States Navy and the Royal Australian Air Force. The Navy had 20 Triton aircraft in service in 2025, and had planned to acquire seven more. The unit cost was estimated to be just over $238 million. Paul Damron, the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) air mobility program manager, says unmanned electric aircraft might be carrying packages and medical supplies as early as this summer. The FAA has designated UDOT to lead one of eight national pilot programs focused on integrating electric aircraft into various airspaces. Initially operating out of Utah's airports, the long-term goal is to create “vertiports” and connect them to existing transit modes. Under the uFLY pilot program, Utah leads a five-state partnership with Oregon, Idaho, Arizona, and Oklahoma. Aircraft will be tested under a variety of environmental conditions.
