When NBC shared a clip of the interview on social media...they mysteriously edited out the most important remarks from CJ Stroud. We reveal and react to the full clip...and the edited clip of CJ Stroud. We question why NBC would edit CJ Stroud...and explain why we believe NBC edited the clip. We also question if the NFL would make CJ Stroud the face of the league...and point to another similar incident where ESPN and the NFL edited remarks like this in the past.

We have looked at the three main reasons, from my experience and observations, Christians begin to pray. We then asked: Do you remember your first prayers? Of the three reasons given: Do you see any weaknesses in those prayers? (In the context of developing a consistent prayer life) Which one was not like the others? In this installment, we answer those questions. 1. Thanking Jesus for our salvation. A. Very natural. B. Very Biblical - Psalm 95:1-2 C. The weakness? While never going away, our gratitude becomes less urgent as time goes on. 2. We have a need. A. Very natural - we know the one who meets our needs. B. Very Biblical - Psalm 5:3 C. Weakness? If our prayers are not answered or answered quickly enough, we tend to look to other solutions, and our prayers drop away. 3. We are told to. A. Very natural - we see others, hear others. B. Very Biblical - Luke 18:1 C. Weakness? Of the three reasons, this one is the least motivating and not like the others. Gratitude and expressing our needs are indicative of our relationship with God. Being told to out of or with little context comes across as cold, religious duty and can be done with little heart as we obey. So What? (Overcoming those weaknesses) The solution to all three (fleshed out in Installment 3) is John 17:3 life. "And this is eternal life, that they may know Thee, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom Thou hast sent." John 17:3 The overarching truth that draws our hearts, minds, and souls is that we are in a growing, Biblical, dynamic, sincere relationship with Almighty God, who created, redeemed, and sustains us for our good and His glory. 5th Day of Lent: The Last Supper - that comes during Holy Week on Holy Thursday, but it's something most churches celebrate weekly -- at least monthly. Some call it "Breaking Bread" others "Holy Communion". Growing up Catholic, I knew it at the "Eucharist" -- which actually means "thanksgiving". When we take part in communion, we thank Jesus for His salvation. Bible Verses in this Episode: Matthew 26:26-30 Acts 2:46-47 1 Corinthians 11:23-32 I quote again from the Bible App Lenten Devotional "Journeying Through Lent" by Susan Narjala. Prayer: Lord Jesus, I sometimes get immune to the immensity of your grace. How do you SEE your challenges? How do you PERCEIVE them: as Obstacles … or as Opportunities? When Moses sent the 12 spies into the Promised Land the ten men of fear had a different perspective than the two men of faith, Caleb and Joshua. The men of fear saw the people of the land as giants and themselves as grasshoppers in their sight. The 10 spies gave the people of Israel a bad report of the land which they had spied out, saying, "We are NOT able to go up against this people, for they are stronger than we are." But Caleb said, "Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well ABLE to overcome." (Numbers 13:30) The Hebrew word "able" used in this passage (yakol) means "to have power, or the capacity to prevail or succeed." My wonderful mother many times read me the little children’s book about the train going up the hill, pulling a load, and saying, “I know I can ... I know I can ... I KNOW I can!” David succeeded in killing the giant, Goliath, the same way the two men of faith, Caleb and Joshua, succeeded in entering the promise land: because he saw―as they did―obstacles as opportunities for MIRACLES: Avenues through which God could be glorified! The size of the person is more important than the size of the problem. Who are you on the inside and whom do you trust! Do not focus on the giants … focus on God. That is why the enemy lies to you. The devil wants to get your attention away from your Heavenly Father: away from God's love for you and His ability to provide for you. THANK GOD ahead for your victory! I remember teaching my first born son how to sail. We were in a harbor of the ocean where many yachts and boats were maneuvering. My son kept his attention on another yacht … what to miss … instead of our tack (where we should be going). He was focusing on what to miss instead of where to go. So it is with many Christians: focusing on the giants instead of the opportunities and goals. Stop worrying about whether you are going to sin and start praising and THANKING God for helping you to live holy! Stop being concerned about failure and start praising and THANKING God for helping you to be successful. Stop frustrating about being wiped out by cancer and start praising and THANKING Jehovah Rapha (the LORD your Healer) for healing you. Stop concentrating on being broken and start praising and THANKING Jesus for making you whole. That is why He died on the cross ... but you must appropriate that wholeness by faith. SECRET: Pray AHEAD OF TIME for what you're going to do AFTER YOUR VICTORY! Many people have what psychologists label a fear of failure; but I would say―in the people I have counseled through the years―just as many or more have a fear of success!
