Recently, a friend and neighbor passed away. Rachael was a solid Christian, yet I was not aware of underlying problems. For instance, never having been in her apartment, I didn't know she was a level 3 hoarder. One thing about going through a hoarder's home is you find hidden gems. I offered to take her Christian books and give them away to friends. Consequently, in going through them, I discovered a Bible Prophecy book. What made this book different, is that it was written in 1920. For a book that's 104 years old, it's in excellent condition. Fascinated as I am with Bible Prophecy, as I read it, it occurred to me since it was written in 1920, by Rev. Clarence Larkin from Philadelphia, PA, it was pure and uncontaminated by modern-day Bible Prophecy preachers. Face it, when reading contemporary prophecy books or watching preachers on YouTube, you don't know who to believe! It took me years of my own personal study to feel confident in believing in “Pre-Millennialism”. El Niñito Jesús Creció Cada Navidad, uno de mis primas católicas dice algo como: "Que el Niñito Jesús te cuide y te bendiga". Una vez respondí que el Niño Jesús creció y se rieron. Psalm 79 is another imprecatory psalm. An imprecation is a curse that invokes misfortune upon someone. Imprecatory psalms are those in which the author imprecates; that is, he calls down calamity, destruction, and God's anger and judgment on his enemies — aka vengeance. (Source) Here, Asaph calls for vengeance against the pagan nations who have destroyed Jerusalem and the temple. Along with Psalm 74, this is a psalm of desolation and lament written in 586 BC, probably by someone who witnessed it all. Nevertheless, it's a prayer that we can cry right now for Israel as they battle the pagan nations. En Español! El Día de Reyes El 6 de enero es el Día de Reyes y se celebra en muchas naciones latinas. Es otro día en el que los niños reciben más regalos. Here we are celebrating another New Year! Except it wasn't so nice of a celebration for the folks who live in Israel. The Hamas terrorists decided to send them a barrage of rockets exactly the moment the clock struck 12 midnight in Israel. Is the war in Israel part of Bible Prophecy? We'll see. Besides the war in Israel, we still have the never-ending war in Ukraine. Then, Venezuela is planning to invade their neighbor Guinea. The civil conflict in Sudan continues as well as increased Christian persecution in Nigeria, China, and North Korea — just to name a few. There are protests around the world. Furthermore, the FBI is warning that internal Islamic terrorist attacks in the U.S. are imminent. Obviously, there is an increase of evil in the world — pointing to the Last Days. I've embedded videos and podcasts from various sources. Since the Oct. 7th massacre in Israel, I've discovered several reliable news sources. Moreover, some of them are in Israel reporting right from ground zero. Last time in Psalm 77, I encouraged you to remember what God Almighty has done in YOUR life. In the next psalm, Asaph, wants the people of Israel to remember what God has done for them. See, Israel had a destructive pattern: God provided, God's people rebelled, and God disciplined. Unfortunately, we, today, have the same destructive pattern — we don't Fear God. Today, we humans refuse to learn from history. Thus, we are doomed to repeat it — and not just the good times. Together, Psalms 70 and 71 are the urgent prayers of King David in his final years. Feeling old, tired, and needy, he cries out to God. In fact, Psalm 70 is considered an emergency prayer — a 911 call to God. Moreover, it's the type of prayer you cry out when you've hit rock bottom or you're stuck between that inevitable rock and a hard place. It's the prayer for when you've got nowhere else to turn to but up to God. Where 1 and 2 Kings and 1 and 2 Samuel were historical accounts, Chronicles written by Ezra, after the Babylonian Exile, is a commentary on the history of Israel from the Kings to the Exile. He wrote it to encourage the Jews returning from 70 years of exile, including everything good from God's point of view. Next up in King David's lineage is his son, Solomon, known for what? No matter what's going on in the world right now, our one and only HOPE is KING JESUS! That's what we have to keep in mind every day. Many of the psalms are prophetic.
