شب טו באב ۴۰ روز قبل از آفرینش دنیا - Tu B'Av, 40 days before the creation of the world by Rabbi Benjamin Lavian
In honor of Tu B'Av, and by popular demand, we've got a ton of dating/shidduchim talk. First, we start by taking a look back at a meaningful Nine Days/Tisha B'Av (2:30-5:47), Minyan Updates (6:28-14:01). Next, we get into Call Her Shadchan/Tu B'Av talk, where the married hosts sit back and let the single guy just go off on his dating experiences, including the wildest shadchan story you'll ever hear (14:30-38:23). We cap the discussion with the Mizrach Vant of Unwritten Dating Rules (38:23-57:24). We then transition into a very informative discussion with the one and only "Bitcoin Rabbi", Rabbi Michael Caras, who unmasks the mystery behind the cryptocurrency (57:24-1:21:00).

7 days after Tisha B'Av we are expected to move beyond the pain of the destruction of the Beis Hamikdash but how can we move on in such a broken world? This week, we're live and wide awake from Seattle. Our Jewish guest is Rabbi Will Berkovitz, CEO of Jewish Family Service Seattle. He tells us why helping resettle refugees is about more than simply "Jewish values," describes the surprising pushback he's received from some Jews over his social activism, and explains how he was inspired to become a rabbi after attending a Catholic college. Our gentile of the week is Dan Savage, the Seattle-based sex-advice columnist and host of Savage Lovecast. He returns to the show to answer love and relationship questions from Unorthodox listeners just in time for Valentine's Day (or as we call it, secular Tu B'Av). (For the uninitiated, Dan is very open and uncensored in his discussion of sex and relationships, so we really mean the obscenity warning this week.) We love to hear from you: Send comments and questions for Unorthodox to Unorthodox@tabletmag.com or leave a message at our listener line: 914-570-4869. Get out of the cistern and cut your nails, Theophiloi, because it's time for a brand new episode! Join us as we take on the extremely apocryphal book of Ahikar, Tobit's maybe nephew. This leads us to the biggest fight we've ever had on the show, which is about whether the Pharaoh's riddle contest is actually a riddle contest or not (it's not, but the eagle boys are pretty dope). Topics of discussion: A debate over the premise of the show that sends Chris's voice spiraling up about six octaves, Tu B'av, the Jewish calendar, a bit of self-promotion unrelated to Bible, Aesop who isn't real either, Deuterocanon and pseudepigrapha, the first of what we assume will be many mentions of Grand Admiral Thrawn, a number that constitutes "a lot of wives," all the numbers in the Bible, a pretty vindictive answer to a prayer, Ahikar's dubious teaching methods, drubbing, some low-hanging fruit, God vs. April, a truly bonkers level of animal cruelty, and Chris getting lightheaded from laughing at his own joke. It's a good one. If you enjoy the show, you can support us at: ko-fi.com/apocrypals

Today is the Jewish holiday of Tu B'Av, sometimes known as Jewish Valentine's Day. Where does Tu B'Av come from and what is it about? It's all about love! Love, however, isn't easy to come by or to maintain. Thankfully God (via Moses) has something to say about that. Reb Zalman did too. Listen in for one of my favorite Reb Zalman teachings, and let us live from a place of love. The world needs more love. Let it begin with us on this day of love. Thanks for listening to the Torah of Life podcast, your home for transformation from a Jewish lens. Like what you hear?
