The best-selling author of How to Train Your Dragon, Cressida Cowell, explains her love for the Swedish author, Astrid Lindgren. Born in 1907, Lindgren invented the Pippi Longstocking stories to tell to her children during the war years, only writing them down for a publisher years later. Following the immense success of Pippi, Astrid Lindgren went on to write Emil of Lonneberga, Children of Noisy Village and the fantasy novels Mio, my son; Ronia the Robber's Daughter; and The Brother's Lionheart. But it was Pippi who brought her fame and fortune. She was a particular hit in post-war Germany, where it is claimed the stories helped de-nazify the Hitler youth. In the 70s and 80s Lindgren began campaigning on child, environmental and animal rights, influencing Swedish government policy and becoming known as the 'Grandmother of all Sweden'. She is still very much adored there today. Cressida Cowell is a recent children's laureate. Also joining the discussion is Johan Palmberg, Lindgren's great grandson, who recalls. "She had this understanding of what a child might be interested in ... she would be the first one to climb the trees and have the children follow her up" Produced in Bristol by Ellie Richold Image courtesy of Jacob Forsell

On the January 5, 2022 episode of /Film Daily, /Film editorial director Peter Sciretta is joined by editor Brad Oman and Star Wars expert Bryan Young to have a spoiler discussion about The Book of Boba Fett Episode 2 “The Tribes of Tatooine”. In The Spoiler Room: The Book of Boba Fett Episode 2 “The Tribes of Tatooine” FeedbackThe robot dogs. Sam Witwer voiced the Rodian prisoner. Jabbas palace shot was repurposed: The shot of the hallway 37 seconds into Chapter 1 is a zoomed still frame of Luke's entrance into Jabba's Palace with smoke added and a pan across the frame. Nathan C writes in: “Remember in chapter 9 of Mandalorian when Cobb Vanth (Timothy Olyphant) had drunk that coconut looking thing? I think it's that. I know that Cobb Vanth made it look disgusting whereas Boba Fett drank it like normal water. Boba is also desperate for water.” Baz McAlister pointed out: Out of the top-billed cast of five in that first ep, the youngest is 47 (Matt Berry). The rest are late 50s/early 60s. And two non-American born POC. Alexandria from California: So in the scene in the street when Boba and Fennec are surrounded by the people with shields, Boba and Fennec are getting pretty heavily beat up until the Gamorrean Guards show up. I kept wondering during the scene why Boba wouldn't use his jet pack to get out of the ring of shields. Do you think there is a reason for this?” DR-MR How did Bib Fortuna and Max Rebo escape the destruction of Jabba's barge? Pablo Hidalgo explains “There's always been a certain amount of time between when first deck gun blast and the final explosion otherwise the good guys wouldn't have escaped either. In the ‘90s EU books there are plenty of survivors, including Max Rebo, Bossk and Bib Fortuna, so it's not a new idea. I figured the second those shutters close on Jabba's lounge and everyone runs away screaming (leaving Leia alone to strangle him), all those folks were running *somewhere*… Whiphids and children first.” Jakob, Anders and David from Sweden: Regarding the theme song. Ludwig Göransson seems to be heavily inspired by this song “The Mattis and Borka song” from the 1984 swedish children's fantasy movie “Ronia, the Robber's Daughter”. Growing up in Sweden in the 80s he most definitely saw this, but I wonder if he acquired the rights for it, or if he just copied it. Slashfilm wrote an article about this. Chris: Would have been cool if the storm trooper in the Sarlacc pit was a Clone Trooper, half devoured after decades, but still alive. Boba takes the Clone's helmet off to get access to his gear, looks into his eyes and finishes him off as a mercy kill. Some people have complained about Jango's helmet clearly being empty, well, actor Daniel Logan pointed out on twitter that you can actually see the shadow of the decapitated head in the movie flying away from the helmet. Joseph Scrimshaw from Force Center points out that the three main Tusken Raiders in chapter one are the young boy, the warrior, the leader, two roles Boba Fett has played in his life and critically a role he wants to have in the future. The leader sips the water, which is everything on this planet, it's life and the economy, it's a power for the leader to take or give. Does The Boba Fett Show Have A Boba Fett Problem?I absolutely love that Boba Fett isn't coming into his new role as crime boss just slaughtering everybody left and right, but I'm kind of perplexed as to why he was portrayed as being so kind-hearted in these post-"Return of the Jedi" flashbacks. Even Mando has to go from ruthless bounty hunter only interested in upgrading his armor to big-hearted adopted daddy to Baby Yoda. That's a significant arc. What is Boba Fett's arc going to be? He goes from guy who doesn't want to fight to ... guy who doesn't want to fight? The only thing I can see happening that gives Fett any kind of growth at all is a darker path than I expect to see from a Disney+ "Star Wars" show. It feels like the only way the character changes at all is if he gets more ruthless, not more kind. That's the Michael Corleone from "The Godfather" route or Walter White from "Breaking Bad" path. Would Disney go that far? I doubt it, but who knows?

They can come across beguiling and charismatic. But that likable facade soon fades. If you know this type of person, you may be in the presence of a narcissist. And if you’re involved with one…hold on to your friggin’ hats. Because a narcissist’s criticism, demands, and emotional unavailability thrive on lack of confidence and low self-esteem. Their fuel is your fall. They shine by making you small. It may sound like the lyrics to a country song, but, it's just how they roll. Yes. I've been there and I won’t make that mistake twice. But, so has my guest, Ronia Fraser. Ronia is not only a fellow Havening Techniques™ practitioner, she is an internationally certified and award-winning Trauma Recovery Coach, author and speaker and one of the leading experts in the field of Narcissistic Abuse Recovery. In fact, Her Road To Recover Me™ - Kickstart Program has made a significant positive impact on the mental health of abuse survivors. To be honest, she's a bloody rock star. I couldn’t wait to have Ronia on “HIListically Speaking”. Not only to share her own personal journey from trauma to triumph, but to reveal the red flags you need to look for in order to release the toxic and the empowering words that will help you recover and be resilient. You’re worthy. Always remember that. In this episode of the Fire In The Belly Podcast, Ronia Fraser joins us to share how she supports women in their healing journey after getting out of abusive relationships. It’s truly unimaginable how people are capable of hurting others, both physically and emotionally. After detaching from abusive relationships, it can be extremely difficult to live and to ‘be free’ without being haunted. Let Coach Roni help you find yourself again. Today, she discusses narcissism, narcissistic abuse, finding ways to remove the feeling of unworthiness and more. KEY TAKEAWAYS It’s not just physical abuse. Someone can inflict invisible emotional wounds to another person. We aren’t always aware that it’s happening to us. The next thing we know, we are already adapting to this new environment (with the narcissist) and already acquiring new behaviours. Ronia’s expertise with narcissistic abuse recovery was something that came from her own experience. Her partners before didn’t value her and their relationship. Imagine feeling worthless just because you can’t give what your partner is asking. That’s what Ronia felt. It was difficult for Ronia to get out of the situation. And the healing phase after every breakup is even harder when there has been abuse. So, as much as possible, she wants every woman to know that there’s help available when they need it. Be wary of ‘unhealthy programming’ within yourself. Some of us experienced trauma (which can be unrelated to our relationship) that greatly affected how we view ourselves. We feel unworthy of great things; we feel we don’t deserve to be loved. But that shouldn’t be it. Be more compassionate with yourself. It’s not you who should be suffering for others’ bad behaviours. When we experience trauma, some aspects of our life change—our view on things, our behaviour, and even our self-identity. It becomes difficult to distinguish what’s right and what’s not right for us. We hide and refuse to speak up. Ronia wants you to know that there are people like her who fully understand, and you can reach out to them whenever you’re ready. BEST MOMENTS “Language is very powerful.” “If you want to have substantial relationships, obviously there needs to be more than partying.” “When you stop fighting against what’s inside of you, you surrender, and accept whatever’s going to be.” “There are scary things buried in all of us and it’s scary to dig them out.” “If I stop working on myself right now—with my Buddhist practice, my self-care practice—I wouldn’t be sitting here the way I am.” VALUABLE RESOURCES Start your healing process with Ronia. You mentioned a couple of different types of Gardens and I was on your website earlier. The Eco Gardens by Washburn dot site and you had rain Gardens butterfly Gardens pollinator Gardens edible landscaping and rock Gardens. I've got a pet rock would that help my pet rock get more exercise.I think so Bob especially with all the oxygen that the plant will give up for your pet rock I think it will be much more helpful.Let's walk through what is your plosives of Gardens our butterfly garden. Are you planting plants to make butterflies come into my yard.Yes we will be planting plump milkweed or Rose milkweed brings and attract butterflies into your yard into your landscape. And so you can be sitting on your patio or just looking out your kitchen windows. Oh my gosh look at that beautiful butterfly and be mesmerized. And that's also going to help enhance the pollinator action in your landscape too. What about a rain garden also known as bio retention. I think more in a residential landscape. We say rain Gardens and then commercial since there's larger properties we call those bio retention rain Gardens are going to help aid in the retention of the water that is going to leave your property if you don't have a rain garden and does that rain garden is going to act as a retention pond. But a quickly dissipating retention on rain garden you can have trees and there you can have ornamental grasses you have native plantings you can have shrubs. Basically what we want that rain garden to do is collect that water and then quickly dissipated. Green Gardens are not your mosquito Haven. That's a good thing you know. Pollinator Garden is something that brings in the bees so you can help with the bee population.Yep exactly. Pollinator Gardens also bring in our hummingbirds and our butterflies and our moth and our other beneficial insect though not just bees and things but you're on the right track. I mean we all like to eat right. Need pollinators. That's true. Well that kind of slides into the next one and the next have a garden instead of Gardens it says edible landscaping what do you mean by that edible landscaping. If you're going to be outside in your yard and you're hungry something as simple as a raspberry hedgerows or something. We've got fruit trees we can plant we have shrubs we can plant we have like a service berry tree that gives a berries for wildlife but that gives the berries for jams and jellies. We can make some wine out of a Ronia shrubs.Oh goodness edible landscaping dual purpose you know producing fruit or vegetable type.So just basically making stuff edible so that way we can enjoy our garden by not only visually but also tastefully as well. Finally rock Gardens as I mentioned at the beginning that I've got a pet rock and I really I really do have one that I bought was kind of funny but what what really is a rock garden rock garden that's more of a Zero Escape feature and when I say Zero Escape that's felt an act like the rocks there. So very very very drought tolerant used in places where people don't necessarily want to or maybe they can't mould or maybe they just don't want that much maintenance. So think of something maybe on a hillside or maybe you know you can even have a rock garden is introduction to your rain garden something that provides quite a bit of colour but also is very easy to maintain.
