Today we premiere a track from one of the most exciting names in Irish techno, Dylan Fogarty. The youngster debuts on Parisian label and event series @rawppl with his new track 'Da Funky Track' - a raw and bouncing groove that tips a hat to the golden era of 90's techno. Dylan Fogarty debuts on RAW's infamous Summer Hits VA series for the first edition of the series that supplies all original tracks instead of its usual collection of reworks. The release calls gather a collection of techno producers from various corners of the world to supply some sun-soaked bangers that are sure to be on heavy rotation at festivals, club shows, and open airs this summer. With tracks from Hadone, Under Black Helmet, AK Sports, JKS, Pagan and more the compilation is a strong collection of bangers. Hailing from Skerries Dylan Fogarty emerged at the tail end of 2022 with a deep and lengthy amount of unreleased techno funk. The newcomer has quickly impressed with a flurry of self-releases as well as featuring on ASW, Rave Your Soul, Concrete Berlin & more. Ireland's newest arrival of loop-driven techno obsession has been gaining support from some of Europe's most in-demand selectors including DJ Heartstring, Tommy Holohan, Kettama, and more. Running off the back of a landmark Life Festival debut and a string of high-profile club shows, Dylan is a force to be reckoned with, and I'd be keeping a close eye on this talent. Dylan Fogarty's contribution to RAW Summer Hit's VA is a refreshing bouncing techno groove that is simply made for festival season. Dylan references the 90's techno scene coming from Sweden as 'Da Funky Track' takes influences from the likes of Adam Beyer & Samuel L. Session. A pulsating bassline plays off well-crafted syncopated drum grooves creating a simplistic yet utterly entrancing funked-up loop. Dylan captures the art of stripped-back techno funk, less is most definitely more when it comes to crafting this style. Outstanding as always. Turn your speakers to 10, this next Local Selection is one for the techno heads. We're delighted to welcome Dublin DJ and absolute powerhouse Lyndz as she takes the reigns for number 168 of the series. Resident on Power FM and key player with the mighty New Moon Sessions collective, Lyndz has earned a reputation for playing dark, loopy techno, full of grit and personality. Nodding to industrial while keeping it interesting at the same time, no easy feat. Lyndz is a self taught, Inner City Dublin DJ with a big love for heavy-hitting, hard, uplifting and hypnotic techno. She has a real ear for selecting obscure tracks that grab her audience's attention. Her journey started when she began working at an underground radio station in her early 20's, where she eventually got her own weekly show. Since the closure of the radio station, Lyndz has slowly began moving up the ranks, finding her sound and perfecting her mixing. She has played in some of Dublin's most iconic clubs and after parties. With influences including Helena Hauff, Anetha, Perc and Under Black Helmet to name but a few, expect 2 hours of wall to wall heaters. Listen via our SoundCloud below. We start the weekend off with a bang today, as we welcome the most excellent Under Black Helmet to soundtrack our Friday as he contributes to our Global Mix series. The Lithtuanian DJ and producer Under Black Helmet is no stranger to our shores, featuring regularly for Dublin based club night and label, Research over the years. Having moved to London in 2011 and being inspired by the local scene, he started producing techno and has remained faithful to the genre ever since. A protegee of Moerbeck's expanding Code Is Law platform, the artist's surge into the shadowy realm of dance music was further supported by Bas Mooy's MORD label, helping him to showcase his productions for the world to see. He has established himself in today's techno scene as a force to be reckoned with, playing at monumental parties and clubs around the world, alongside the likes of Dax J, Phase Fatale, Stanislav Tolkachev, Jeff Mills and Rebekah week in week out, while releasing some of our favourite techno records in the process. We are absolutely delighted to welcome Under Black Helmet to our Global Mix series, as he delivers a meticulous and hypnotic hour of rolling techno. Mattia Trani has been toasted as "the future of Italian techno". The Italian has been active since 2012. He came onto the scene through his record label, Pushmaster Discs, and his musical output since then has been nothing short of prolific. Since 2012, Mattia has had 17 releases, 2 of which are LP's. His biography says " Mattia Trani is considered one of the most talented young artists of the techno music landscape of recent years, both Italian and European. Born in a musical family, he starts fostering his passion for music as a child, building his background by studying the piano at first, and then focusing on DJing and musical production." "In 2014, during the party for the 20th anniversary of Bologna's Link Club, Trani shares the console with Jeff Mills, and in that occasion, the famous Italian newspaper La Repubblica defines him a “Student of the Detroit school, which Mills himself brought to fame”." Pushmaster Discs, Mattia's label, has seen releases from artists such as Ilario Alicante, Julia Govor & Jeroen Search. Mattia's music has been remixed by the likes of Ben Sims, Donato Dozzy, DJ Shufflemaster, Echoplex, DJ Rush, Sterac and Kwartz, amoungst others. Mattia's style takes the sounds of Detroit techno through his own filter to create his sonic, but he is also influenced by classical, rock n' roll and jazz music. He is currently studying classical. Our next podcast episode is just brilliant and comes from one of the mainstays of the Code Is Law label, UNDER BLACK HELMET. His sound and style are as raw and powerful as his dj sets, and for us he's put together an absolutely outstanding hour of exquisite techno. He hails from London and is a fairly recent newcomer, but everything from him is absolute gold, so we recommend you buckle up for this one: "Helmet on your head, you can feel it A voice under your skull just keeps on screaming The world is beautiful, but you're blind to see it You are under the black helmet."
