Latvian duo Taran & Lomov present 'Semper Supra' – their debut LP on their own label Amber Muse; a refined and accomplish long player that showcases the tip of an iceberg patiently built across two dedicated and long-spanning careers in the music industry. Together, the pair have managed to earn the coveted stripes of 'jack of many, master of many' across a fruitful and symbiotic 20 years. They've turned their hands to promotion, production, remixing, radio hosting, music journalism and DJing. At this point, they have a gilded resume that includes support for their releases from the likes of Jane Fitz and Laurent Garnier, releases on W&O Street Tracks, Josh Wink's Ovum Recordings and Dense & Pika's Kneaded Pains as Queer On Acid and of course – their basecamp – the Amber Muse Radio show. Musically, 'Semper Supra' is a genre-flexing trip with its roots in early 2000s Minimal and late 90s Electronica. 9 tracks bearing flecks of influence from labels like Time Passages, Perlon and Warp as well as artists such as Black Dog, Metamatics, Binh and Jan Jelenik meld in a head-twisting brew - one that caters to listeners on any point in the spectrum between after-hours raver to armchair astronaut. The glue in the record is the subtly haunting energy omitted by the synths, sweeps and atmospherics that course through the album. The spectral glow these conjure hangs gently over a variety of bpms and intensities, keepings things suffused in a dubby fog that gives a living, breathing sense of space and atmosphere. Case and point being 'Nano Crab' - a patient, frosty recording that stacks energy in subtly folding layers of mangled, otherworldly signals and primal rhythms. 'Slow East' follows up with a skeletal Electro track that oozes with an ominous mood often clocked in Nicolas Lutz's extended sets. The warped robotics and cold sonics of 'Slickers' are given life and mobility via groove and clever sequencing while 'Corp' whips up into a more frenzied zone. Alarm tones burnt and bit crushed while drums move with the sort of urgency required for boiling point dance floors before the title track provides an allaying landing pad as it scatters pin-prick melodies across a wide, icy soundscape. ambermuse.com/taran-lomov-bio facebook.com/TaranLomov ra.co/dj/taranlomov soundcloud.com/ambermuse facebook.com/AmberMuseRec instagram.com/ambermuserec

Hallo Freunde hier kommt eine neue Episode meiner Indie Dance Mix Series... diesmal mit Jandro Ferragut aka Ultratube aus Palma de Mallorca, Spanien. Viel Spaß Kurt Kjergaard Hello friends Here comes a new episode of my Indie Dance Mix Series... this time with Jandro Ferragut aka Ultratube from Palma de Mallorca, Spain. Enjoy It Kurt Kjergaard BIO Behind the alter ego "Ultratube", there is a tremendously curious person with an obsession to constantly investigate new music, new structures and sounds that take him to another emotional state. His sincere musical passion began to develop in the mid-90s, bathing himself in styles where distorted guitars predominated such as Indie Rock, Punk, Noise, Shoegaze, Indie Pop or Dream Pop, among others. In love with powerful bases and heavenly melodies. At the beginning of 2000, contact with electronic music began through Techno, of a more minimalist and hypnotic style, with people like Richie Hawtin, Jeff Mills or Josh Wink among others. Already in the mid and late 2000s, he began to have contact with more melodic and atmospheric styles, such as Progressive House, influenced by people like John Digweed, Sasha or Hernan Cattaneo. Around the year 2022, he falls in love with Disco in its most cosmic and spatial aspect (where he also plays Dark Disco, Italo Disco, Indie Dance, New Beat, Acid, Progressive, etc...). He usually plays at El Barbero Club (Palma de Mallorca). One of the reference clubs in the city in terms of quality electronics with more than 30 years of experience. The mixes he creates are usually journeys through hypnotic, narcotic, lysergic and melodic-melancholic sounds where they come together to create a rise in the listener's emotional intensity. "IF IT DOESN'T MAKE YOU FLY, IT'S NOT WORTH"

Alarm tones burnt and bit crushed while drums move with the sort of urgency required for boiling point dance floors before the title track provides an allaying landing pad as it scatters pin-prick melodies across a wide, icy soundscape. ambermuse.com/taran-lomov-bio facebook.com/TaranLomov ra.co/dj/taranlomov soundcloud.com/ambermuse facebook.com/AmberMuseRec instagram.com/ambermuserec

Back in the 90s, classic records were being released seemingly every week. So for one of your tracks to make it into the annual top ten really meant something. But what if you had three in a single year? That was 1995 for this week's guest, and the short period in which he released Don't Laugh, I'm Ready, and Higher States Of Consciousness was always going to be a defining one in the history of the music itself, let alone the story of the actual producer. It's possibly just as much of an achievement that Josh subsequently managed to escape the legacy of those monster records and build a lasting career on the global circuit, and it's that longevity that makes this such a great conversation. We talk about the musical influence of his home town of Philadelphia, the early US rave scene, the pivotal role of college radio, the challenges and opportunities of today's industry, and of course the experience and aftermath of 1995.This is a good one... of course it is!If you're into what we're doing here on the pod then you can support the show on Patreon! Phew!  We'll get back on track ASAP - there's a few episodes waiting to be put together, and the Garage Hour goons are on it.  This show's pretty gearhead: a prayer for John Force, whose funny car wasn't very (just add kerploding), a chat w/ our old buddy David Lozeau about how Jap cars, trucks and bikes parts were freakin' perfect in the '90s, how Toyota's fighting with bureaucrats about testing standards in the 2020s, why Ford's first-gearing F-150s are failing while Chrysler's reverse cameras don't see much, and why batteries and electric cars are running out of ways to pretend they're viable.  Sources include Breitbart, Yahoo, Asia News and Cowboy State Daily... While we're in there: Challenger 4-8-8-4 4014 is once again roaming the Midwest (apparently pulling the city of Cheyenne behind it), Pennsylvanians put $10 million in the garbage, and an excellent weirdo sendoff for "Kelly's Heroes" standout Donald Sutherland, plus Prodigy, Josh Wink, Chemical Bros., Prong, Orbital and KMFDM.

We had the pleasure of interviewing Simon Doty over Zoom video!Canadian DJ and producer Simon Doty recently released his debut album ‘Universal Language' on Anjunadeep.‘Soulflow' sees Simon collaborate with American spoken word artist Ursula Rucker, whose thought-provoking vocals can be heard on tracks with artists including Dusky, Marquis Hawkes, and Josh Wink. Combining Ursula's vocals with stabbing chords and a driving bassline, Simon perfectly epitomizes the timeless house sound that has previously earned him support from Adam Beyer, Adriatique, Gorgon City, and Hot Since 82, among others.A firm favorite among fans of the label, Simon first debuted on Anjunadeep in 2019 with his track ‘Sama' and has since put out five stand-out EPs on the label, including ‘Hometown EP', his ‘Living Sound EP' and most recently, his collaborative cut ‘Touch The Sky' with Marsh, which has collectively amassed over 3 million streams and support from the likes of Pete Tong, Danny Howard, Gorgon City, and Ben Malone.Crafted for the dancefloor, Simon's debut album ‘Universal Language' gives the audience a chance to listen to a range of musical styles that they can expect to hear Simon play during one of his DJ sets, ranging from house to deep house to melodic techno. The album features a range of collaborations including American spoken word artist Ursula Rucker, British duo My Friend, singer/songwriter Tailor, UK-based producer and vocalist Artche, British songstress Ruth Royall, and legendary American vocalist Roland Clark as well as a remix of JODA's hit track ‘Closer' (feat. Robyn Sherwell). We want to hear from you! You're the geek, so you understand the importance of the Second Amendment (probably to the point of being obnoxious).  Good - we too.  This piece gathers the bits, including the massive growth of ownership, all the new (and novel) firearms owners, the importance of training - don't buy 10 guns, buy one and ten boxes of bullets.  ...Or maybe 100.  Then the Gearhead Consultancy flubs the Constitution (we should all grab a copy and bone up), but saves the day with background on bad laws from Washington state (a rifle ban?) and bad ideas from idiots (“smart” guns)... What's more: Atomic Bitchwax, Southern Culture, Failure, Goatsnake, For Love Not Lisa, Josh Wink, Corrosion, Bowie, and Al King with Stevie Ray.  Also, Legos for kids and adults, tyrannosaurus skeletons for the living room, T-90s for truck stops, bacteria for everyone, good PR for exploding billions, beers for Americans, and tranny fluid for pinkos.
