Since 2014, Zanias has existed as the unrepentant creative venture of Alison Lewis, born in Australia, raised in Southeast Asia, and also known for her vocal work with Linea Aspera, Keluar and a record shelf's worth of collaborations with the likes of Black Rain, Ancient Methods, Dax J, I Hate Models and Infravision. As the sole custodian of Fleisch Records she spent many years attuning herself to Berlin dancefloors through the timely collision of techno and electronic body music, but her true passion is for understanding the modality of emotions through songwriting. Sound is her psycho-spiritual catharsis and philosophical exploration of existence, expressed through an intense vocal performance, evocative melodies and heavy rhythmic components. With this signature structure she seeks to reinvent her own brand of ethereal pop: atmospheric, multi-layered and as alien as it is authentically, vulnerably human. In 2024 Zanias returns with her latest album called Ecdysis, released on Metropolis Records and Fleisch Records. Named after the final stage of emergence from a former self, Ecdysis lays claim to an entirely new electronic soundscape influenced by the ethereal pioneering of Dead Can Dance, Enya and Fever Ray. Zanias's voice morphs deftly between species and gender, exemplifying the oneness of conscious experience evoked by the more extreme psychedelic states, while the atmosphere is heavily influenced by the Queensland rain forest where much of the recording took place, conjuring an environment rich with biodiversity. https://www.metropolis-records.comhttps://zanias.bandcamp.comQUEEN OF WANDS with DJ Nocturna Every Saturday on ModSnap Radio | KMOD: San Antonio3pm (HST), 5pm (PST), 6pm (MST), 7pm (CST), 8pm (EST)Radio: https://modsnapradio.comThank you for liking, subscribing and sharing my videos ! Today's premiere is a free download from Dublin-native Aero as he shares a bumping production titled ‘I Know You Got Hardcore'. This funk-driven techno track combines meddling low-end and catchy vocals, resulting in a ferociously energising listen. To put things lightly, Aero has grown into one of Ireland's most prolific Irish artists in recent times, the youngster has carved out a career that is wrapped around the foundations of purist techno. His punishing style of techno has been haunting Irish dancefloors for over half a decade, as Aero's deep knowledge of techno sees him weave through hard-edged and groove-laden techno cuts from various time periods. Aero has played alongside some of techno's most formidable artists such as Stef Mendesidis & Dax J through to SHDW & Obscure Shape & Sunil Sharpe, to name a few. He has built a strong repertoire as one of the most trusted warm-up DJs in Ireland but is also equally versed in pulverising a dancefloor at peak time. Outside of the club, Aero's productions have been seeing heavy support from arguably some of the most influential DJs of our time from Freddy K, Amelie Lens, Slam, Richie Hawtin, Marcel Fengler & many more. With some more 12 inches forthcoming and a mountain of unreleased music 2024 is expected to be a colossal year for Aero. Aero now presents his first release of 2024 with ‘I Know You Got Hardcore', a snappy DJ tool that has been doing the rounds for the past 6-months. The highly anticipated track sees Aero gravitate towards the simple yet nuanced approach to making stripped-back, yet funk-fuelled techno. Sampling Eric B & Rakim, Aero flips the original hip-hop track into a catchy 140bpm groove that is made for DJs. A veritable powerhouse of the Croatian techno scene Insolate has been establishing a global presence as a DJ and producer for over 20 years delivering as both a label boss at Out Of Place and the creative force behind their electrifying TRAUM events. Hailing from Osijek, Croatia, on the wide Croatian East – a town that at first glance a heavy industrial atmosphere overshadows, she is making her first steps as a DJ back in 1997 before taking over European and worldwide clubs. Her list of clubs and partys she played is impressive and includes Berghain, Rex, Tresor, Under Club, Club d'Anvers, Unter, Exit Festival, Tomorrowland, ADE and Dimensions Festival. Amongst many European clubs she played numerous tours in Colombia and recently added USA, China and Argentina to the list. As a producer, she's had a string of releases on highly respected labels including DJ Deep's Deeply Rooted, Marcelus's Singular and Developer's Modularz - supported and played by some of techno's finest including Laurent Garnier, DVS1, Dax J and Ilario Alicante. Also she released the stellar Obscure Object Of Desire EP on JoeFarr's new User Experience imprint, EP for a Suara and beautiful EP for Proletarijat, label run by Sev Dah. She also contributed to Ben Sim's compilation Tribology among giants as Planetary Assault Systems, Oscar Mulero, Steffi etc. and also made super interesting collaboration with french producer Arnaud le Texier and released EP with him for Prodigal Son. In 2019. she announced her debut album. The album Order is Chaos was released as a double vinyl and contains 10 tracks with extremely interesting collaborations with MATRIXXMAN and singer SARA RENAR. DJ Mag (UK) described album as “exciting journey thru trans-dimensional vocals, acid drenched sequences and floor obligated bangers.” Insolate is also a major contributor to the Croatian techno scene, so much so that she was in Ibiza to receive the award for "Dance Nation of the Year" at the DJ Awards on behalf of her nation. Her and long-time partner in crime Volster also run the event series TRAUM in her native Osijek. TRAUM events have cemented their place in the clubbing calendar with quality artists like Paula Temple, Antigone, Cassegrain, Janice, Etapp Kyle and Milton Bradley, just to name a few. The success of the TRAUM nights caught the attention of Red Bull Music Academy and Dimensions – both of which they have hosted official events for. Insolate being an international messenger of techno was recognised by Ambassador award that gave her a title "Croatia's ambassador overseas" for 2017. The final part of putting Osijek on the techno map was taken in 2015 with the launch of the label Out Of Place which Insolate runs with Volster. The label was named in honour of the beautiful struggle of carving your own way into the scene from a place that's well off the grid from the traditional capitals of techno. Now five releases strong, the label has already had contributions from heavyweights like Milton Bradley, Developer, JoeFarr, Francois X, Janice and many more. As a DJ, Insolate is well known for her no-compromise, pure-bred techno sets. It's clear to anyone who's seen her perform that she's an artist with a lot of experience but also plenty of inspiration and ambition, and a deep knowledge of techno. She is simply a natural presence in a DJ booth. If you've seen her play, you will know exactly what this means.

Today we premiere a thunderous techno track from rising DJ & producer Jayne Veronica. The Irish native showcases her recent work in the studio with a gritty trip through acid and industrial sounds as a her track ‘Focus & Concentration' features as a free download on our Soundcloud. The Irish born selector Jayne Veronica has a keen ear for the faster and harder sides of techno. Her sets are super-charged with acid and trance which evoke a nasty and tenacious side to warehouse affiliated techno. The young DJ has found inspiration from many of techno's superstars of today, incuding; Nico Moreno, Ki/Ki, Dax J, VTSS and Kander to name a few. Jayne's production levels have been rising as of late, and her growth in the studio is a testament to her hard work on perfecting her craft. 2023 is already looking bright for Jayne as she has a release planned for the first quarter of 2023 on one of her favourite London label. Jayne's eyes are so set firmly on the completion of her first EP, which is planned for the new year. Jayne's track ‘Focus and Concentration' seem's to be a love letter to her production journey thus far, as the track echoes the trials and tribulation of finding your sound, and perfecting the craft. The track is relentless from the word go, and Jayne keeps the foot on the gas, as pommeling low end meets unswerving bass tones and percussive hits. Fierce acid lines cut through the mix, and give a gnarly touch to a head banging industrial offering. What did your summer sound like? For the RA staffers featured on this month's episode of the Critics' Roundtable, the answer ranges from dubby jungle to cheeky UKG to hazy krautrock. Looking back on their favourite records from recent months, managing editor Chloe Lula, Mexico City manager Valeria Martin del Campo and senior writer Nyshka Chandran highlight Dax J's Soul Enforcer,Prelude by Barbie Bertisch and Lichi's latest fruit-inspired compilation. The conversation then shifts to special live performances. Aquarian's dextrous mixing at Dekmantel gets a mention, as does SCHNITT and Gianluca Sibaldi's captivating AV performance at MUTEK Montreal, where they scanned audiences in real-time. Moving onto industry trends and significant news stories, the trio discuss the significance of Mexico City online radio station Aire Libre shutting down, the impact of algorithmic populism on artists and the massive labour crunch in event production jobs. For more details on each of these topics, listen to the full conversation.

Vienna-born and Berlin-based DLV is not a blank slate in Europe's techno industry. He defines his music as a realm of sinister peak-time Techno. A strong focus on productions and his DJ career made him score an underground hit called “Rave Instructor“. This heavy dance-floor weapon achieved some big support coming from techno royalties such as Amelie Lens, Regal, and many more. Besides his longstanding residency at Grelle Forelle, he kept pushing his personal limits. As founder of Acid Techno Techno Club, a Vienna-based label and event series he started working as well behind the scenes and contributing to the techno industry. Soon he became a well-known and respected figure in the Austrian capital's Techno scene. The dedication to his work and passion for music, resulted to perform at Red Bull's Soundclash in Stuttgart back in 2019, followed by shows in Europe‘s infamous Techno capitals Berlin and Paris. With convincing performances, he could gain international attention for his projects. During the current pandemic situations, he focused on new productions and could score a release on Klangkünstler‘s OUTWORLD. With „Der Teufel (Gazometer 98 Mix)“ he once more gained international support by Kobosil, Amelie Lens, Dax J and many more pushing him to the top of the Beatport Hard Techno charts. Today's premiere features a standout remix from Aero, as he does a remarkable job at providing a fresh take on Alt8's 'Cairo at Night'. The remix is coupled with Alt8's single release on Dense & Pika's highly regarded Kneaded Pains label. Give this a spin. Both Alt8 and Aero are knocking their releases out of the park as of late. They have shown that their productions are highly regarded across the entire underground music industry. Having gained a heap of support from artists such as Amelie Lens, DJ Bone, Dax J, Marcell Dettmann, Luke Slater, Paula Temple, Slam and more. So seeing both of them on a release together on Kneaded Pains is no surprise for both of these artists. Alt8's variation of 'Cairo at Night' showcases some Arabic inspiration, as it contains spiritually charged vocals, bouncing tom toms and throbbing bass for quite a unique and transcendental techno vibe. Aero's fresh approach embodies some remnants of the original, but at the same time provides a more raw flavour, really honing into his signature sound that comprises of old school techno elements with a more modern feel. In other words, music that is best suited for the dancefloor. Drawing tangible inspiration from the early 2000s hard techno and groove hiatus, Evan Marshall's artistry continues to blossom, as the DJ is fast becoming a regular on the DJ circuit, plus one of the most prolific releaser of tunes in the whole country. Today we premiere his latest release entitled 'Cairo At Night'. Arabic inspirations permeate through the whole single from Alt8, dropping on @denseandpika's Kneaded Pains label, backed with a remix from fellow rising Irish artist, Aero. In its original mix, ‘Cairo At Night' pummels its way through spiritually charged vocals, bouncing tom toms and throbbing bass for quite the unique and transcendental techno vibe! Dublin based Aero slots in a remix that yields an alternate and raw take, rattling and grimy basement beats underpinning the divine mood. Early support on the release has received great feedback from; Amelie Lens, DJ Bone, Dax J, Nicole Moudaber, Coyu and many more. Alt8 has been producing since 2019, drawing influence from old school hard techno when devising drum sequences. He has released for labels such as Reckless, Rave Alert and Moments In Time.
