Monrella – Shank (Tensal Remix 2) Digital Only Release date: 15/03/2024 Formats: 12'' Vinyl & Digital Birmingham Techno paragon Monrella (Mick Harris) doesn't mess about, returning to Trauma Collective with 'Shank', a no-nonsense cut of heads down 909 techno. His analog production strikes a fine balance between solid groove and industrial rumble as the characteristically dry precussion crunches around a relentless synth stab. Alongside Regis and Surgeon, Harris was an architect of the dark Birmingham sound that blossomed out of club night House of God. He played a key role in the genesis of grindcore in the late 80s as the former drummer of Napalm Death and went on to translate his taste for raw, analog distortion into rugged 4x4 club tools with productions for Regis' ZET label in the mid 90s as Monrella. Several alias projects followed, the broken techno explorations of Fret, beatless dark ambient with Lull and the dub inflected trip-hop / illbient of Scorn. 'Shank' is remixed on the flip by the Berlin-based Force Reaction, a collaborative project from Kwartz and Kaiser, two purveyors of a particularly muscular strain of techno igniting dances across Europe. They last released together on Kaiser's K S R imprint back in 2021 but this is Kwartz's second outing on Trauma Collective after a link up with Monrella on TRM003. Their version introduces reverb and echo to the mix while firmly retaining dancefloor utlity. Rounding up the B-side is a polyrhythmic and densley textured remix from Héctor Sandoval as Tensal. Sandoval is one half of pioneering Spanish techno duo Exium, and he also contributed to ZET back in 2001. Tensal doubles up on this release, dispatching a second remix in the form of a peak-time thumper available as a digital only bonus track.

Flaminia is a music producer and live performer based in London. She focuses on the live aspect of performing which allows her to have a full scale of creative freedom and expression. Her take towards writing and performing music brought her to play in London's most notorious venues, such as Printworks, FOLD and Village Underground and as well as international stages in Berlin, Athens, Tbilisi, Goa and New York. After starting releasing music on her label Metempsychosis Records which she runs with End Train, she has been heard on VSK Series, Samurai Music and 47. She collaborated with artists such as Headless Horseman, Ancestral Voices, VSK, Sam KDC and Kwartz. Flaminia also co-founded and runs Home of Sound, a polymorphic platform that breaks down barriers between highly established talents and emerging artists through masterclasses and interviews on electronic music. The man behind HC records (Hypnotica Colectiva) David Verdeguer delivers the next podcast for our TRM mix series. Since 1990 David has been DJing and pushing the electronic scene in Valencia (Spain), becoming one of the main DJs and promoters in the city. He has also worked as resident DJ at clubs considered as temples in the local Valencian scene such as Barraca, Rockola, Terminal and Miniclub among others. Currently David runs La Discoteca K&H Vinyl Store in Valencia aside his own label HC records. Constant music researcher and meticulous selector, David drops a 2h journey of atemporal gems. The man behind HC records (Hypnotica Colectiva) David Verdeguer delivers the next podcast for our TRM mix series. Since 1990 David has been DJing and pushing the electronic scene in Valencia (Spain), becoming one of the main DJs and promoters in the city. He has also worked as resident DJ at clubs considered as temples in the local Valencian scene such as Barraca, Rockola, Terminal and Miniclub among others. Currently David runs La Discoteca K&H Vinyl Store in Valencia aside his own label HC records. Constant music researcher and meticulous selector, David drops a 2h journey of atemporal gems. He's characterised by letfield and deep techno sound. He has been playing alongside national artists like Launaea, Gotshell, Daza, Andres Gaviria, Arvak Live, Jose Monsalve, Magdalena Solo among others. All this trajectory gave him the opportunity to be the resident of Seis Bar in Manizales, Colombia and to perform in clubs like Kowell Club in Manizales, Colombia and Loop Club. Traversable Message is the current project of Juan Pulgarín, DJ and producer from Pereira (Colombia) began in 2007. From that year until today, he has been constantly exploring and developing his own musical identity. His sound swings between Techno, Ambient, Drone and Experimental music. This makes it the perfect balance between the dance floor and the mind, using simplicity as a tool for immersion in his sessions. Surrounding atmospheres with kicks, deep and rhythmic drum loops, combined with analog synthesisers and drum machines that give a warm and lively sound to the dance floor. He constantly appeared at Garden Underground Club (Pereira – Colombia) since 2013, where he had the opportunity to play alongside artists of the like of Christian Wunch, Lewis Fautzi, Lucy and Kwartz, among others. As a producer, he is characterised by the many modulations, dense bass lines and enveloping atmospheres that make his music something very special. He actively works at G89 Records (Chile), a label where he released his own EP as “PULSARES” and “WORMHOLE”, in 2019, in addition to other works for labels such as No Way Records, Northallsen Records, Aarden Records, Artscope, Circular Limited. On the last episode of the MindTrip podcast for 2020 Pfirter invited one of Portugal’s leading artists of the current techno scene, João Rodrigues aka Temudo. He lives & breathes music since he was a kid when he started his education in sound. Having initially dived into the Drum ’n’ Bass fields as Medio, he continued being eager to learn and experiment, and that was when he began exploring the sound of Techno. Up to date he has released on labels like Soma, Modularz, Clergy, Mord, Synewave, Planet Rhythm and also Hayes, a collaborative platform run by himself together with Nørbak, VIL, -2 and Osse focused on showcasing the distinct output of its artists through vinyl and digital releases. One of Seis Records' main artists, he has been playing for over 4 years, he began his career as a professional dj in Decibel Academy (Intelligent Division) in Medellin, Colombia. He's characterised by letfield and deep techno sound. His technique had given him the pleasure to perform along side international artists like Bas Mooy, Antigone, Kwartz, Antonio de Angelis, Michel Lauriola, Alfredo Mazilli and Xhei. All this trajectory gave him the opportunity to be the resident of Seis Bar in Manizales, Colombia and to perform in clubs like Kowell Club in Manizales, Colombia and Loop Club. He is now working on his project under the moniker "ECLECTICAL" that it will be release on Seis Records. We welcome Martinovna, an esteemed VJ, who has shared the stage with the likes of Kanding Ray, Ancient Methods and Keith Carnal. She is also one of the leading visual artists for festivals such as Revive and lately Escape From Reality (the virtual festival by RAW agency). In our chat, she tells us the reason why as artists, we may not want to compromise to avoid diluting our creation. Martinovna is super passionate about techno and electronic music in general and has started VJing after being inspired by what she saw in gigs. Year by year, show after show, she has crafted her own style to make visual performances that help shape the vibe in clubs and festivals. As you will discover, it does not take much to start VJing, but what makes each artist's creation unique is the work that is put toward each performance and the experience that the artist accumulates over the years. Martinovna shoots herself a lot of the content that ends up in her visuals and often ends up investing days for each performance. Mattia Trani has been toasted as "the future of Italian techno". The Italian has been active since 2012. He came onto the scene through his record label, Pushmaster Discs, and his musical output since then has been nothing short of prolific. Since 2012, Mattia has had 17 releases, 2 of which are LP's. His biography says " Mattia Trani is considered one of the most talented young artists of the techno music landscape of recent years, both Italian and European. Born in a musical family, he starts fostering his passion for music as a child, building his background by studying the piano at first, and then focusing on DJing and musical production." "In 2014, during the party for the 20th anniversary of Bologna's Link Club, Trani shares the console with Jeff Mills, and in that occasion, the famous Italian newspaper La Repubblica defines him a “Student of the Detroit school, which Mills himself brought to fame”." Pushmaster Discs, Mattia's label, has seen releases from artists such as Ilario Alicante, Julia Govor & Jeroen Search. Mattia's music has been remixed by the likes of Ben Sims, Donato Dozzy, DJ Shufflemaster, Echoplex, DJ Rush, Sterac and Kwartz, amoungst others. Franz Bush is a DJ and producer born in Italy and currently based in Milan. At first, he started out as a guitar player in rock bands while developing a prolific career as an event manager. His passion for techno and darkwave quickly turned into a big inspiration for his solo electronic productions, which combine strong dancefloor vibes with ethereal and nocturnal influences. Putting together his rock roots with his constantly evolving passion for everything electronic and analog, he played as resident DJ at Rocket in Milan and then at Dude Club, now he’s running his own label called DIE SEKTE, making label showcases, touring Italy and Europe and has just released his first Vinyl Ep with a Bnjmn Remix. Nicolas Maximiliano AKA RUSS. Nacido el 4 de Diciembre de 1993 en Villa Martelli, Bueno Aires, Argentina. Atraído por la música electrónica desde muy joven, comenzó su carrera como Dj a mediados del 2014 realizando sus primeras presentaciones en fiestas under organizadas por ciclos amigos. Su estética sonora esta fundada sobre bases cargadas de sonidos hipnóticas, contundentes kicks y grooves bien marcados que apuntan a tener la intensidad que lo caracteriza a lo largo de todas sus sesiones. En el 2017 en su paso por Inglaterra tuvo el agrado de participar en dos oportunidades para ciclos underground de la escena inglesa, el primero fue Element sundown en Londres y el segundo Solid Grooves en Manchester. En su vuelta a casa cerrando el año 2018 ingresa a la Crew de LOGIC y juntos a ellos tuvo la oportunidad de participar en Bahrein junto al duo YYYY y con otros grandes artistas a nivel nacional que vienen trabajando duro junto a sus ciclos. Entre ellos Alias, Davista y Agustin Viera (EL GALPON TECHNO), Emiliano Benedetti y Euyiin (ASSAULT), Farceb (UNDER CLUB), Roda y Bondaruk (ROOM), Nixzer (DISTORTION)y Letus (PLANET EKLIPSE). In late 2011 and after publishing several EP’s in different international labels, Kwartz’s productions begin to draw attention of the leading names on the international scene. Is in 2013 when the duo Exium get in touch with him to publish an split EP called ‘Fenomen’ which will be his first release on vinyl. In late 2013 Kwartz joined PoleGroup, becoming part of the booking roster of the label commanded by Oscar Mulero, in which he began to release his works regularly. In addition to PoleGroup, his tracks appear in several of the most important international labels as 47, Mord Records or Warm Up Recordings. Fandino, better known as Olliver Fandino is a 23 year old DJ out of Hilversum, and is the proud founder of Unbounded based in Utrecht. The emotions that DJ’s release inside their listeners throughout their sets gave Fandino the inspiration to pursue a career in DJing himself. Throughout the years he played with acts like: Bas Mooy, Psyk, Ansome, Mike Dearborn, Octave, Ritzi Lee, Monoloc and J.Tijn. In 2014 he made his first international debut, which took place in Aachen where he played a closing set after Psyk.
