The boys and lady ran this thing into the ground so skillfully it was like art and poetry becoming one. It's like, they were all them tonight and it was funnies. Will the Thrill's in high demand, Kajsa just needs a little Jesus and Jim has to be muted into pieces for clean time to avoid an international incident. Tim was fairly sure of his surroundings on the show, presented cognitive thought, sensitivity to light. She was injecting 40 times over the period of 40 minutes. Those statistics are 100% official. Did a bunch of giggling. Refracted on early and often. Will was distracted by a flash in the distance for 5+ minutes. He came around. So recovery huh? Great choices. Good clean fun was had by all.

Evoking thoughts of tribal gatherings and mystical experiences of the past and future, Berlin based artist, Refracted taps into his ritualistic side through his latest release titled, ‘In Veil'. Forth-coming on the London imprint Titrate, the release spans six tracks that seem to stretch time and space, enveloping the listener in field recording and drone driven journeys. Initiation brings forth an atmosphere of introspection as subdued bongos start and a steady drone fills the air. The energy turned inwards, the thoughts of a listener calm, meditative tones and melodies play throughout. Giving space and warmth as field recorded textures swirl amidst the musical backdrop. Initiation and the remainder of Refracted's ‘In Veil' release will be out on the 25th of January. @refracted-music @titraterecords www.instagram.com/refractedmusic/ www.instagram.com/titraterecords/ Write up by @huedj Follow us on social media: @itsdelayed linktr.ee/delayed info@delayed.nyc www.delayed.nyc www.facebook.com/itsdelayed www.instagram.com/_____delayed www.youtube.com/@_____delayed

This is a ridiculous question. Of course we're not living in a simulation. I have memories, I can learn – in essence I am a flesh and blood human being, living on a planet in an almost infinite universe, that we can observe. Surely that proves we are not in a simulation. While working in television, I met a lot of celebrities. Some were great, some not so great, some horrendous and some glorious. Today I'm focussing on two incredible British icons who I had the pleasure of working with, Nigel Hawthorne and Barbara Windsor.

On the morning of the 7th October 2012, I walked into my apartment and found my best friend fully-clothed and unconscious in the bathtub. The water was up to his neck and he was making strange, gurgling sounds. A toppled over bowl, a half-drunk bottle of soda and hundreds of pills were scattered all over the floor. That day and what came after it, will be forever imprinted on my brain. It has taken me eleven years to finally talk about this. I've wanted to share my story many times, but it hurt too much to recount what happened. It still haunts me to this day and yet I know my experiences may help other people and even prevent the loss of life. So here we are.

The interview begins @ 6:24 In this enlightening conversation with Dr. James Hollis, renowned Jungian analyst, we dive deep into the psychic underpinnings of our religious traditions and explore the profound concept of the soul. Using Jung's understanding of God as a starting point, we traverse the labyrinth of depth psychology, examining not religious theology but the spiritual essence embedded within our psyche. Dr. Hollis challenges preconceived notions of Western healing approaches, underscoring the importance of addressing long-term developmental tasks contributing to our life's suffering and our existential quest for meaning. We probe into the power of choice, its pivotal role in harmonizing our inner and outer worlds, and the necessity of viewing our lives through a transpersonal lens. In a contemplative reflection on his own life and the influence of Jungian theory, Dr. Hollis encourages us all to engage in a deeper dialogue with our lives, acknowledging the humbling realization that we aren't truly in control. Our discussion pivots to the human propensity for constructing theology, culture, and structures as conduits to the mystery of existence, bearing the psychological imprints of their originators. We navigate the intricate dynamics of resistance within the relationship between ego and the unconscious, emphasizing our responsibility for the choices we make. The existential query is central to our exploration: "What stirs your spirit to evolve and redefine your life?" We touch upon cultural sickness, institutional failure, and the potential for growth within tradition, culminating in a discourse on gender fluidity, the impact of consumerism, and the essence of a truly healing analysis. This exploration offers listeners the tools to navigate towards their own 'true north', fostering a stronger connection with their intuitive inner life. Join us as we transcend the diversions of popular culture, and dive into the depths of our collective psyche. Bio: James Hollis, Ph. D., was born in Springfield, Illinois, and graduated from Manchester University in 1962 and Drew University in 1967. He taught Humanities 26 years in various colleges and universities before retraining as a Jungian analyst at the Jung Institute of Zurich, Switzerland (1977-82). He is presently a licensed Jungian analyst in private practice in Washington, D.C. He served as Executive Director of the Jung Educational Center in Houston, Texas for many years and now was Executive Director of the Jung Society of Washington until 2019, and now serves on the JSW Board of Directors. He is a retired Senior Training Analyst for the Inter-Regional Society of Jungian Analysts, was first Director of Training of the Philadelphia Jung Institute, and is Vice-President Emeritus of the Philemon Foundation. Additionally, he is a Professor of Jungian Studies for Saybrook University of San Francisco/Houston. He lives with his wife Jill, an artist and retired therapist, in Washington, DC. For additional notes and resources check out Douglas' website.Introduction: 1 Corinthians 1:18-24Greeks: Christ is foolishness to polytheists, and to intellectuals who embrace philosophy over religionJews:  He is also unacceptable to the Jews (generally speaking). The Muslim view of Christ is similar to the Jewish view.JewsJesus was a failed Messiah, or rabbi whose claims were exaggerated.Early Judaism: magicianCrucifixion stumbling block. Seizing on victorious imagery, as opposed to the language of sacrifice. (Refer to lessons 3, 4, 5, and 6.)Much of reaction to Christians is historically conditioned: pogroms, crusades, discrimination, etc. Many Jews have met few authentic disciples of Christ. For more on Judaism, listen to this podcast.IslamJesus was only a prophet, and inferior to Muhammad.Affirmation: prophethood, sinlessness, miracles, Second Coming, virgin birth, Word of GodShirk (association), the unforgiveable sinFor more on Islam, please read our book Jesus & Islam, or listen to the podcasts on the actions and words of Muhammad (the Hadith). The uniqueness of salvation through Christ is offensive to moderns, as it was to the ancients. Modern responses:Use the lingo of the narrow road but more as rhetoric than really putting our weight behind it.Universalism: “Accidental” salvation through Christ? Is there an alternative interpretation of John 14:6?If we really have free will, it is hard to see how everyone will eventually make it.  The non-Christian variety of universalism (all will be ultimately saved) is unbiblical. Some Christians think that some Jews, Muslims, Taoists et al will be saved through Christ, even if they have not  understood who Christ is. Somehow his Spirit is at work among them, and they have an implicit understanding of the Truth. Some hold that, since only an explicit understanding and an explicit faith save, the genuine seekers among the world's religions will receive a post-mortem opportunity to learn about Christ.Yet God is the ultimate Judge (1 Pet 2:23). And he tells us to tell them(Matt 28:18-20; 2 Cor 2:14, 5:18-6:1; Rev 12:11).Redefinition of toleranceTolerance of persons vs. tolerance of ideas. Modern tolerance of ideas entails the pretense that, in some sense, all ideas are equal.Tolerance requires disagreement.Beware simplistic, patronizing attitudes on the part of the "tolerant" -- who seldom have any tolerance or patience for biblical Christians who hold to salvation through Christ.Christianity is both exclusive (John 14:6; Acts 4:12) and inclusive (1 Tim 2:4; Rev 7:9). We want everyone to come to the party -- yet we are not the ones deciding who gets admitted. (It is God's party.)Yet these modern responses do not work. Put simply, Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one will get to the Father but through him (John 14:6).There is only one monotheistic religion that correctly understands Christ.Next podcast: What the Atheists are Missing

For additional notes and resources check out Douglas' website. The final three podcasts in Christ Through the Ages explore how Christ has been refracted through human thinking. We begin with the polytheists (think Hindu); next time we will discuss monotheists (think Muslims); in the last lesson we will consider the atheists. There are many differing refractions / reflections of Christ in man-made religions.Baha'i: Many paths to GodBuddhist: enlightenment—but to what?New Age movement: we are all gods / christs (we just don't realize it).Once again, beware differing Christs (2 Cor 11:2-4)!Knowing something about how others believe is helpful.Enhances our appreciation of what we have in Christ.Enables us better to connect with members of other faiths.Increases our conviction about the fundamentals of the faith.HinduismWelcome to the pantheon! If all faiths are valid, then in a sense none of them is true.Yet the Hindu gods and goddesses are not necessarily virtuous. Moreover, Hinduism teaches the ultimate dissolution of relationships and individuality.By the way, Jesus never visited India.Idolatry: we become like what we worshipWorship the goddess of wealth (Lakshmi), become materialistic.Devote yourself to a violent and vengeful deity (like the blood-drinking Kali), and what behaviors may be rationalized? The most "loving" Hindu deity, Krishna, cavorts with the cowherds. Hardly a model to emulate! The gods and goddesses are not, fundamentally, moral. They are created in man's image. So it is with all the pantheons: Greek, Roman, Nordic, Egyptian, Babylonian, etc. Therefore we can't just add Christ to a pantheon. He claims unique and exclusive worship (John 14:6; Acts 4:12).BuddhismParallels emphasized (temptation, self-control, compassion), but these are minor. The differences are major:Buddha did not die for our sins.Buddhism is originally agnostic, or even atheistic. Our condition of sinfulness is ultimately unreal, since human souls do not even exist.Don't be deceived. Christ is not found in the polytheistic religions (even if a few of this teachings appear there).Scriptural thought: Ephesians 4:3-7There is only one God -- monotheism, not polytheism, is the correct stance. This is a central doctrine of biblical religion (Deuteronomy 6:4-5 -- see also Matthew 22:34-40).There is only one faith -- as attractive as liberal "tolerance" may be, it is incoherent: not all faiths can be valid, since they contradict one another. There is only one Lord -- and we have enough room in our hearts to serve only one (Matthew 6:24).For more podcasts on world religions, click here.Next: Christ Refracted in the World: The Monotheists
