Ahsoka's been riding around Coruscant on a speeder bike looking emo: I guess being a Skywalker is a state of mind. Her bike malfunctions and plummets into a bottomless pit, crashing onto a platform several hundred levels down. She meets the owner: Trace.Trace offers her a place to fix her bike, as well as a job Ahsoka demonstrates technical aptitude. Trace is trying to be a capitalist, but really she just wants a friend and also Ahsoka doesn't really get money. They start to connect and Trace drops some truth bombs that the Jedi are perceived as: starting wars, telling people what to do, and ignoring the problems of everyone who isn't a Jedi or senator. Some goons show up to collect on a debt from Rafa, Trace's sister. Trace immediately starts throwing hands. It's actually a pretty good dust up, until Ahsoka to get involved drops the hammer. They leave to find Trace's sister Rafa who is stealing from dryers at the local laundromat. Ahsoka and Rafa instantly dislike each other. Apparently it's Rafa's legitimate laundromat, which makes her theft both more and less pathetic. Then a dude shows up with a sketchy job of assembling some droids.Ahsoka and Trace are building some Vulture Mk III mechs. Ahsoka reminds Trace about restraining bolts which is handy because one of the droids immediately attacks her., and another pulls a runner. They chase down Mighty Joe Droid and Ahsoka continues to let Trace risk her life because she's committed to remaining undercover. They capture the droid with minimal Jedi powers.Ahsoka tries to convince Rafa these droids are too dangerous to sell. Rafa says she'll do the right thing, which turns out to be charging double. Ahsoka realizes that the Jedi never prepared her for dealing with moral gray areas.Later, Trace and Ahsoka are doing repairs and talking about where Ahsoka learned so much about starships. She tells Trace she learned it at Skywalker Academy. Trace tells Ahsoka she couldn't afford to go to an academy, but she scrimped and saved and built her own ship: The Silver Angel!Ahsoka feels directionless and asks to stick around for a bit. Rafa's got a job to make them a bunch of money, and begrudgingly allows Ahsoka to join the crew, but won't tell them what the job is until they're underway.Trace pilots the ship into a military traffic lane. Admiral Yalarin, on the Star Destroyer in their path hails the Silver Angel. Ahsoka hangs up on him and instructs Trace to pilot them into the civilian lanes. Anakin, who is on the same bridge as Yalarin, senses Ahsoka with the force, but ultimately lets the ship pass just like he would do later for Luke. The Silver Angel emerges from hyperspace above Kessell! They land and are invited to a banquet, where it's revealed the Rafa's job is to haul Spice for the Pykes. They load the spice and head to Oba Diah to deliver. Onboard, all three fight about what to do. Ahsoka wants to deliver to anyone except the Pykes so it can be used for medicine. Rafa wants to deliver to their intended recipients. Trace, torn between doing what is right versus what her sister wants, dumps the spice into space, uh-oh. Rafa said they must now give up the ship to hopefully save their lives, Trace strongly disagrees, but Ahsoka has a plan!Ahsoka Jedi mind-tricks the Pyke leader, and he gives them their credits and lets them go. However, a subordinate inspects the cargo, notices it is empty, and calls in reinforcements. With their ship stuck in a tractor beam and surrounded by enemies, things don't look good for the trio.https://twitter.com/ClosingCrawlhttps://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/closing-crawl/id1530133296https://www.closingcrawl.com/Merch at: https://bit.ly/spacetimetm

In this episode Edward Kessel, Removals Manager of Martell's of Sutton discusses how he got involved within the industry, probably like many, working as a porter during the summer holidays from his A levels, and has completed over 25 years' service, all for Martell's. Martell's are a family owned and run company, and have been trading mainly in retail since 1917, starting as a pram and bedstead shop in the Elephant & Castle, London. Martell's have a department store in East Grinstead, own several properties which they rent within the private sector, and commercial premises for storage and office space. On the moving side they cover all of the usual removal services, running a mixed fleet of 6 vehicles, employing 15 fulltime staff and offer self-storage as well as containerised storage (using the 250 cuft steel containers). One of Ed's biggest challenges is staff, not only finding new staff but also current staff are less inclined to want to spend days and nights away from homes, and some are not even interested in overtime. Ed has even had to incentivise bonus schemes for some of the staff to do nights away. Ed doesn't have anything major that he would change from his moving past, although he has learned some hard lessons along the way. Ed's highpoints of being within the industry are; professionally, being the Chairman of the BAR National Group Council, which gives Ed a seat on the BAR Board, and personally, the jobs Ed has quoted and moved, one in particular to the Cayman Islands. Ed would like to change a couple of things within the industry, one being more regulation for the 3.5 tonne sector and the other being the house purchase process, two controversial topics indeed! The advice Ed would give himself just starting out within the industry again is to embrace every opportunity presented. In the next 5 years Ed hopes to still be at Martell's looking after operations, and to still be involved with the BAR. Industry wise, the electric vehicle rollout is coming but Ed doesn't think as an industry (and as a nation) we are ready for it. Outside of the industry Ed likes to travel, spend quality time with the family, cooking and enjoys go-karting. And as always we end Moving Matters with not one but three funny moving stories; a move to Portugal with Ed's now wife, a TV cameo debut, and a bit of removal banter. Enjoy! As the role of present-day Lottie demands, Simone Kessell made a huge impression on Yellowjackets in her debut season.Season 1 introduced the 1996 version of the character played by Courtney Eaton, but viewers were left wondering whether Lottie would make it through the wilderness ordeal alive until Kessell's casting was announced between seasons. Ultimately, present-day Lottie becomes a significant driving force of the show. She's the one who encouraged the Yellowjackets to start listening to the wilderness and respect its voice in the past, and now she's pursuing similar ambitions but on a larger scale via her very own wellness compound. At the start of Season 2, Lottie isn't preaching about the power of the wilderness but rather, offering activities and sermons that encourage “turning suffering into strength so we can live as our best selves.” Lottie starts the season sound and steady with confidence and authority, but as more surviving Yellowjackets arrive at the compound, the more Lottie starts to lose herself to the trauma she was subjected to in the wilderness. With Yellowjackets in the spotlight courtesy of a significant amount of well-deserved Emmy season hype, Kessell took the time to join me for a Collider Ladies Night conversation to recap her journey playing Lottie thus far, including her heartbreaking downward spiral. Simone Kessell is on a list. Having appeared on Star Wars min-series Obi-Wan Kenobi and worldwide sensation Yellowjackets, Kessell tells Newstalk ZB's Francesca Rudkin in Hollywood terms, she is in elite company. “I've never really been on those lists, I'm sort of way down that list… I think Star Wars really helped get on that list and then from there everything's kind of moved forward.” She says early in her career she would often second-guess herself, citing a lack of confidence, and wishes she could tell a younger Simone to be patient. “You've just got to keep working, the more auditions you do is work, the more opportunities to get in a room, the more you read, the more you work out physically, all of those things are preparing you for the next one.” Self-doubt was also something the actor struggled with before landing her breakout roles and says realising those feelings were all in her own head gave her a better understanding of how the industry works. Kessell (Ngāti Tūwharetoa, Ngāi Te Rangi) first graced our screens in 1992 soap Homeward Bound that was released at the same time as Shortland Street. As Kessell tells Rudkin, with an ever so delicate tongue in her cheek, we all know which of those two television shows is still running. Having cracked the US market, Kessell has been opened to two cult followings of fans in Star Wars and Yellowjackets, and been adored overseas, but struggled on her return to Aotearoa New Zealand to land roles she felt she would thrive in. “I feel like I just don't get considered for anything back home. It's weird.”  She is quick to remember fondly her role in Urewera raids movie Muru alongside Cliff Curtis, but says it is a strange feeling not to be on the New Zealand list. “Any other role and I'm not even on that list, I can be on a world list in Hollywood but for some reason I'm not on the New Zealand list anymore and that blows my mind.” While being a proud wāhine Maori, Kessell says if she is on the New Zealand list, it is more often than not for roles depicting single Maori mothers when rather than lawyers. “I've had to source work outside Aotearoa and that's fine, I'm so privileged and so lucky but I would and am willing to do anything. It's not about finance; it's not about money, it's about work and the representation.”  Upon returning home, Kessell says she was “put through the ringer” again in auditions. “I was like; can you maybe just read my CV or look at my reel? But it's funny, because unlike Australia, New Zealand feels like if you've done work in the rest the rest of the world it doesn't really come into it.”See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

And Simone is here to talk openly and honestly about why her work on the show has been a career highlight. On today's episode of Under The Gloss, Phoebe chats to Simone about the reality of portraying the dark subject matter at the heart of Yellowjackets, her 'car lifting' moments, being a Maori woman on a mainstream drama series and how women in their fifties are her greatest source of inspiration. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

It is 1580. Virtually no Spaniards have returned to New Mexico or the American southwest since the return of the remnants of the Coronado and Soto expeditions in 1542.  Neither had found a third great indigenous civilization to conquer, or even more than scant evidence of precious metals.  By 1580 most of the survivors of those expeditions had died, and the narratives produced in their aftermath would have been known to very few people. The most durable legacy of those expeditions would have been the rumors of gold, which always persist long after the actual facts are gone from living memory.  So it was that circa 1580 various aspirational conquistadors set to scheming for a return to the region that some were now dreaming of as “New Mexico.”  These new Spanish probes into the American southwest were minor affairs and of relatively little consequence, except insofar as they stirred up the Indians living in the Pueblos of the region and generated a new round of propaganda that would lead to the colonization project of Juan de Oñate y Salazar in 1598.  That would be of surpassing significance, for Oñate would stay for twelve years, kill a lot of Indians, found Santa Fe just before he departed, and establish the foundation of Spanish society in the southwestern United States. Tzvi Kessell, the Founder of "TZ Balanced Life" discusses his tried and tested methodology of holistic healing based on removing emotional strains to clear the path for healing. Tzvi once believed that incorporating supplements into a diet would be key to healing. However, he soon realized that practicing mindfulness was a more effective solution. In my conversation with Tzvi, we will hear the result of a 20 year well-researched journey that concludes with the understanding of how the body is made to heal itself which leads us to address all three legs of the “TZ Balanced Life Stool” - i.e. - mind, body and spirit.http://tzbalancedlife.com/tzvi-kessell/https://www.instagram.com/tzvi_kessell/?hl=enSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

In this episode, we are joined by one of the leading lights of US non-league soccer, Chris Kessell. As a listener to this podcast, Chris should really need no introduction to you. A staunch advocate for pro/rel, a massive voice in his regional organizations, and a passionate youth coach to boot, there are many strings to Chris' bow. We had hoped to do justice to this renaissance man, but sadly time got the better of us, this time round. Anyway, we obviously spoke pro/rel for a bit. But don't let that put you off. There are also some male grooming tips and a book recommendation in here too. Something for everyone, as they say. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/buildit/support

Marooned in Florida in 1528, four Spanish colonists made an extraordinary journey across the unexplored continent. Their experiences changed their conception of the New World and its people. In this week's episode of the Futility Closet podcast we'll describe the remarkable odyssey of Álvar Núñez Cabeza de Vaca and his reformed perspective on the Spanish conquest. We'll also copy the Mona Lisa and puzzle over a deficient pinball machine. Intro: The Russian navy built two circular warships in 1871. In Episode 23 of #Onthetouchline, Jason Broadwater @SoccerCoachJB talks to Chris Kessell, @TheChrisKessell. “Black kids in my neighborhood don’t play soccer.” That is the thinking Chris Kessell has encountered throughout his career. Kessell is the president and a coach at West Side Soccer Club in Charleston, WV and works with primarily under-served and under-represented communities – mostly African American, rural, and low-income. Chris Kessell wants each of his players to make soccer a lifelong activity. Black, white, Hispanic doesn’t matter. Soccer isn’t just for some – it is for all. He helped lead the creation of a futsal court to start a futsal meet up program on Friday’s in the Charleston community. He is bringing soccer to youth players who may have never touched a soccer ball before. It is no secret – I am drawn to passionate, all-in coaches. Chris Kessell cares deeply about soccer in the United States and soccer within the state of West Virginia. He has been an outspoken critic of the United States Soccer Federation. He has been an advocate for promotion/relegation as a normal way of life for us as soccer fans here in the US. And, he ran for the US Soccer Federation Vice Presidency last fall.
