Five years ago, Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams finally lost the (musical) lawsuit of the century. Their song, “Blurred Lines,” had been an inescapable summertime hit, a wedding-DJ-standby, and the center of a very Obama-Era debate over whether it was creepy to have a song called “Blurred Lines” in the first place (it was.) Now, it was also found to have violated IP owned by Marvin Gaye's estate, specifically the classic song “Got To Give It Up”—a brilliant track that VIBED a lot like “Blurred Lines” without sharing much, if any, direct musical DNA. It was a bombshell. In the years since, the music industry has changed. Songwriters became more cautious, backroom deals were struck, catalogs got bought, and everyone accused Ed Sheeran of stealing their songs. But why was the lawsuit actually decided in favor of Gaye? And what does that tell us about the legal structures that shape modern music? To get a better sense, Saxon and Sam dig into the details of the case, unpacking the epically unmoored nature of modern copyright, the invisible impact of sampling, the music biz negotiations that followed the ruling, and the AI possibilities hurtling at us all. Come to hear us try and remember what 2013 sounded like. Stay for some beautiful—and we mean beautiful—depositions.

Have you ever been in a place that feels very unfamiliar, but then God gives you a wink to let you know he put you in that exact location at that time for a reason? I had this experience 2 weeks ago. Situations like this actually happen in my life more than I ever realized, and I often don't think about it in the moment. It's often in the moments after the event occurs that a smile crosses my face and I look up and say, "Okay. I see you." Have you every been in the right place at the right time, or maybe you were like me and were in an unexpected place, but at the right time? Or, maybe you have a "God wink" story that He let you know you were doing just what you needed to do or were exactly where you needed to be? I'd love to hear about it! In this pep talk episode today, I discuss how Joe and I recently changed our minds on a decision we made in regards to our house whenever it turned out to be not what we were expecting. I know that I have come across situations in my life where I decided to let something happen just so I could reach the end goal rather than changing my mind, because I wanted to get to that goal quickly regardless of how I got there. Now that I'm learning more about myself, I can truly say that I have to enjoy the situation or process I am going through in order to truly appreciate the end goal once I get there. There's just something about not being satisfied with the timeline of events that make an end achievement less rewarding. Did I go on this profound thought journey all because I didn't like the color of the walls in our house? You got that right. If you relate to this message or story, I'd love to hear from you about your personal experience! Send me a DM so I can share your story to others, too, who may have gone through similar experiences. You know that phrase "woke up on the wrong side of the bed" whenever someone is not acting like themselves or feels off? In this episode, I share my personal experience of when I had a bad day, basically from waking up on the wrong side of the bed. We discuss the topic of toxic positivity as well as addressing that it is okay NOT to be okay. You certainly don't need my permission or advice to have good days or bad days, but sometimes we all need the reminder that we're not alone in our feelings. If you resonate with this episode or know someone that you think will, please share it to get this reminder out there! Vibed with this episode, have some feedback, or want to get connected? "Be grateful. Be nice. Be thankful." Wise words from Joe in this episode all about what it's like living in a camper with a maximalist-turned-minimalist wife and toddler. It's been approximately 6 months since we've been in a camper due to our house being unlivable post-Hurricane Ida. Listen to this episode if you want to have a laugh at hearing us poke fun at each other as well as hearing what it's been like living in a much smaller space than we were used to. Any advice you'd have for us since we'll be in here for at least a month or two more? I mean it may even be 3 more months? We don't really know anymore. Lol Anywhoooo, hope you liked this little look into our lives and we'd love to hear your thoughts. If you or someone you know would like to be interviewed for the podcast, send yourself or them my way! I'd love to speak to you or them about being a rockstar at what you do or they do. WE ARE BACK, BABY!!! Hurricane Ida certainly threw not only me and my family, but so many others from Southeast Louisiana for a loop. My family and I are currently living in a camper and so is the very special guest of this episode, Jeray Jambon Jarreau! Jeray is such a light and awesome person doing amazing things for our local community. In this episode, we discuss how she got involved with starting the non-profit organization, Bless Your Heart. It feels so great to be back in the groove of podcasting, even if it is from a camper dining room table. I hope I can still upload episodes weekly (fingers crossed) but I won't put too much pressure on myself if it just can't happen. If you or someone you know would like to be interviewed for the podcast, send yourself or them my way! I'd love to speak to you or them about being a rockstar at what you or they do. It's the penultimate episode of the season, and you know what that means! That's right, it's Fantasy Suites, and Michelle gets to take Nayte, Joe and Brandon to Bone Town. Sadly, not all at the same time. Bach Nation is far too conservative for that, but we can dream. Listen as we hit a million tokes and react to this episode, while desperately hoping for some DRAMA (please).
On this week's episode, the boys dive in to break down the Fantasy Suites episode of The Bachelorette, including Joe's last date [15:09], Nayte and Brandon's tension [21:45], Brandon's Hail Mary [30:33], Joe's shocking elimination [36:06], and so much more!
On this episode of TBAAR, Brandon S is bro-less. Monique and Summer from the Black Bach Babes join to show to discuss: Brandon's Heart Jordan Sneakers Morning After Etiquette Nayte's Thighs Catching Vibes *RATE AND SUBSCRIBE* @BrandonEarl_ @Kemdoctor1 @Allyearsummerbod

In this pep talk episode, I list a few things that I do to turn my bad days into happy ones! I definitely enjoy the little things in life, so it doesn't take much to make me a happy camper. Sometimes though, I can get in a funk or have a good day turn the opposite direction. In this episode, I talk through what steps I take to turn my frown upside down. If this episode has helped you or resonates with you, I would so appreciate if you would share it with a friend or on social media! Well, the sun has moved back south (I think?) because it was shining on me in bed after sunrise this morning. Nice clear and sunny day. Realised after going to the vaccination centre and ranting about the rollout to a bunch of people that I'm getting too worked up about it and I have the luxury here in Regional Vic to step back and see if some Pfizer doesn't just pop up sometime in the next month or so. Rather than repeatedly bumping up against assbackwards rules around who gets access to what isn't as dangerous to people of their demographic, etc. Going to try to calm down about it a bit. Work. Very busy. And I had to go and open my big mouth and send some uncomfortable questions to the Reconciliation Action Plan Working Group (AKA as, basically all the top brass who I'm not fit to shine the shoes of..). I'm glad that I sent the email but I bet it'll lead to discomfort or some sort of weirdness. YOLO tho I guess. Walk. Vibed out a bit looking at the dewy grass and the river and that. Glory be to God. I'm due to listen to some Soul Search podcast eps and get in touch with my spiritual side again soon I think. Missed dinner due to snacking. M: 6. E: 6. L: 0.

Jenna talks about her strategies with her hiring process as well as how she trains and treats her travel advisors that she has on her team.
