On this week's episode Jess & Sam share about the lost art of single tasking. Constantly multi-tasking has become our norm, and it takes away from the quality and appreciation from each individual task. There is also a point in the episode where Sam gets really distracted as Jess mutes herself and yells at her kids, and instead of editing that part out, we decided to keep it in to show the beauty of #reallife. Self-Care Dare: This week, stimulate your mind for 15 to 20 minutes every day. Read, write, do puzzles - whatever you need to get those neurons firing. Jess's Feel Good Tip of the Week: Once per week, try and cook dinner completely undistracted.
Knowing doesn't create change; it's the doing that creates change. You may know about why we have negativity as humans, but you must put it into action to see the results. In this episode, Cindra talks about how negativity isn't always bad – it can help us make good decisions and protect us. But many times too much doesn't serve it. Savoring is one way to train your mind to see the good and the possibilities. Power Phrase of the Week: “I savor the good to combat my negativity bias.” Quote of the Week: “Once you replace negative thoughts with positive ones, you'll start having positive results.” Willie Nelson

Listen to a story with Steve de Shazer and what differences it has made not be the expert. Hear how to do Solution Focus in other ways than with language and how to let your clients lead you to what you do with them. Check out what fascinates her with working with athletes and what she does with them, how she combines SF with other elements, and her experiences in training Solution Focus in China. She tells us stories of adapting Solution Focus to different contexts, how an experience with Steve de Shazer helped her to trust the process even more, and emphasizes the importance of joy when working with the Solution Focused approach. Listen to her thoughts about how much space there is for the problem or for difficulties in the Solution Focused approach. *PODCAST REPLAY* Today we’re going to share with you an intense, potent and powerful interview with Danielle at the Warrior Empire event in December 2016. It was the first time Danielle took to the stage where she talked about what it’s like to be a woman married to a man living the Warrior’s Way. Every week married couple Danielle and Garrett J White share insights and perspectives from within their own lives regarding the following topics discussed each month: Week 1: Sex Week 2: Money Week 3: Parenting Week 4: Communication In This Week’s Podcast….COMMUNICATION Point #1: When a Wife Fights the Change Her Husband Wants to Make In the beginning, Danielle was completely against how Garrett was showing up. He was going to self-help seminars and making her feel guilty for not going with him. He continued challenging her, which caused her to reevaluate who she was and who she wanted to become. Danielle: Put yourself in your wife’s shoes. If she started implementing change, how would you react? People, in general, don’t like change because it’s scary. From a wife’s perspective, you can’t overwhelm her, but rather lead by example in the same way you would lead children. QUESTION Gentlemen, what is the way you initiate growth and change in your partner? Point #2: Choosing In There came a time when Danielle had to choose to be all in for herself AND their marriage. Garrett was moving in the direction he was going, and he was committed over time to a specific path. At the same time, they were trying to recover from chaos as a couple. Danielle: I felt that both of us were fighting and neither of us was ready to give up. We were both not necessarily choosing in, but we weren’t out and were still very much connected. All it takes is that little piece of connection to rekindle and to rebuild. QUESTION How can you “choose in” to your marriage everyday to keep the flame burning or to rekindle a fading flame? Point #3: Sex and Marriage It’s all about give and take. You have to play the role a little bit and let go of your ego. In order to build that sexual chemistry that seems to leave after you get married, think about the feeling you had when you were dating and do what you did back then: you got your car washed, you got a new pair of shoes, you planned the date, you were flirty. How did sex therapy help us? I felt like I could say what I was thinking without worrying about upsetting Garrett. Having a therapist is like having a sounding board where it’s immediately less triggering for both sides. That being said, Garrett got triggered at one point during a session and jumped up and did pushups because he was so pissed. QUESTION What do you do to keep the sexual chemistry strong in your relationship? Point #4: Collision Danielle: Whether the wife works or not, when couples grow, the wife goes into this “I can do everything” mode where it seems kind of masculine. It’s actually more cold and calculated where we don’t come across as very feminine, but instead, we’re in focus mode trying to get shit done. Garrett: Gentlemen, the more you encourage your wife to change, the more she will rise in power, and the more collisions are going to take place. As Danielle has risen in power as a creator and a producer, her masculinity has also risen, so there’s this collision that exists inside of her. Sometimes the collision we experience is not as lovers or as a couple, but instead as two masculine energies colliding. QUESTION What happens when you collide with your spouse? Point #5: Living the Warrior’s Way Danielle: I’m addicted to the high of growing where it makes me feel like comfortable is no longer an option. Progressing as a person is now a high for me. How can I stay where I am when the sky’s the limit? Where things were once scary and chaotic in our life and relationship, we’re now in a much healthier space. I look at where we are now and the only thing I feel is gratitude, humility, and excitement. If this has happened in the last five years, what’s going to happen in the next five years? I get glimpses of the future sometimes and I’m like, “Oh shit, that’s so cool!” QUESTION How have you and your spouse changed as a direct result of living the Warrior’s Way? Communication Challenge: Take some time to have a conversation around this idea of collision. How can you use this tool to better serve your relationship? Date Night Topic: On your next Date Night, take a trip down memory lane and talk about what you both used to do in the early days of your dating and start implementing those things to rekindle and ignite the flame of sexual chemistry between you. Quote of the Week: “Once men experience Warrior, they become more invested in their children, which produces a new kind of chaos while they figure out how to balance this with their role as a husband, and as a hunter and provider.” —Garrett J White “No matter who you’re with, you’re going to have problems. With Garrett and I, it made more sense to rebuild our relationship than to burn it to the ground.” —Danielle K White
This is a reprise of one of our most popular episodes! We trust you will enjoy it ... Walking Away From Bad Business ... “You're Not A Pro Until You Do!” Welcome – this is another podcast on the mindset top sales pro’s have. Last week we talked about dealing with “NO” and the feedback was awesome so keep it coming! Just this past week, I said NO to what would have been bad business for me, my company, and the client. It involved a rather large car dealership in my area needing help with sales training. I set up a meeting with them to let them tell me their needs and for me to tell them what I had to offer them based on those needs. My approach to their needs would have been to benchmark their top performers, identify others that could quickly get to that caliber, and then work with the others to get them to that level. They had another vendor option that was less expensive that would have delivered a large number of unqualified sales people to the floor, and would not have increased their business. The dealership tried what I would call “old school car sales tactics” with me to get my price lower by pointing out that I spend a lot of time on the road and wouldn’t it be wonderful to stay local around my family and take a local job. Hmmm, had to tell him I had 2 problems with that, one being I know what my value is and second did he really think I could teach his guys in an effective manner if I lowered my value like that. It was obvious to him - I had a point. Bottom line, I said NO to the business because it wasn’t a good fit for either of us and the outcome would not have been what I pride myself in delivering. Remember our conversations about the 6 levels of relationship we discussed in Podcast #022 - Level 3 vendor or Level 4 supplier, Level 5 partner and Level 6 adviser. One of the differences between 3&4 vs. 5&6 is the ability to see bad business and walk away! A good definition of bad business … For whatever reason it is not good for the customer, your company, or your business. For example: Bad for the customer? -Wrong product – doesn’t solve their problem and exceed their expectations -Can’t deliver – consistently, timely -Undermines your position as partner/adviser Bad for the company? -Poor margin -Taxes manufacturing or delivery capabilities -Isn’t in alignment with company goals -Not an ideal client Bad for you? -Not in the ideal client profile or avatar -Might adversely effect your ability to take care of other clients -Not a good ROI for your time and energy If you are … At the top – walk away from bad business so you have more capacity to stay at the top or even grow! Stuck in the middle – this type of mindset change is what it is going to take to get to the top! Just starting out – build it right from the start!!!!! Sales Tool Of Week – Master Sales Interviews! I am going to open them up for free the rest of February! Quote of the Week – “Once you know where you’re going, every decision is easy because it is either taking you where you want to go or not! If you don’t know where you are going then every decision is tough because you don’t know if it is adding to or taking away from your success!” Tony Robbins

Cat chats about realizing that she's been slacking as an activist. A few recent experiences proved that she needed to analyze how much of an impact she was actually making, and after some deep reflection, she realized it wasn't much. The Cocktail Chronicles covers the beginning of the modern cocktail renaissance, offers classic recipes and their modern takes and also features a chapter called “Bottles, Tools, and Tips” that discusses stocking your liquor cabinet and the best tools. Jim Meehan provides the foreword and each recipe is preceded by its history. The book is an accessible guide to both professional bartenders and cocktail enthusiasts featuring over 200 cocktail recipes written in a fun and engaging manner and is a great reference guide to have on hand. Paul’s a good guy – we’ve got to get him on the show one of these days. Featured in the book is the classic cocktail the Blood and Sand, and that will be our Cocktail of the Week. The recipe for the Blood & Sand first appeared in print in Harry Craddock’s 1930 The Savoy Cocktail Book. This is an equal parts cocktail: .75 oz Single Malt Scotch Whisky .75 oz Sweet vermouth .75 oz Cherry Heering .75 oz Orange juice Put all the ingredients in your shaker and fill with ice. Shake, and double strain into a chilled coupe glass. Garnish with an orange peel. Very nice cocktail indeed. My favorite section to hunt through are the bargain and discount books right up at the front. I always find awesome cookbooks and other practical books for awesome prices! And this night I came across I book called Once a Month Cooking: Family Favorites and my kitchen changed forever. Over the years my cooking has changed and I now cook more whole foods and try to stay away from things like white flour and processed foods. So while I don't use this cookbook anymore, and I've come across some amazing freezer cooking resources since then, I will forever be thankful to have come across this cookbook in the clearance section. In this episode my goal is to introduce you to freezer cooking and give you the courage to try it out yourself! I will share more details about freezer cooking, the different methods you can use, and how it can have an impact on your cooking, your kitchen, and your family!
