The world feels so loud right now. Social media is noisy, and it can feel like there's pressure to post, to have strong opinions, to take sides. Some days you may feel seen and loved; other days, maybe judged or misunderstood. But remember, what matters most is that God knows your heart. And from the overflow of the heart, the mouth speaks. So take a moment to breathe. Get quiet. Go to God, and ask Him to align your heart with His. Love Him, love others, and be slow to judge. Only God truly knows our hearts, so leave it to Him. Love you all so much. This is my last episode for 2024–I'll be taking a break from the podcast and Instagram, and enjoy the quiet olden golden days of blogging over on Substack. Moving from "feeling" worthy to knowing our worth as rooted in Christ requires a shift in our mindset and faith. When we base our worth on external circumstances—like career, relationships, or health—we tie our value to things that are temporary, unstable, and can fluctuate. However, true worth is not about what we do or what happens to us; it's about who we are in Christ. This episode will encourage those of you who find yourself in a cycle of seeking external validation to feel good about yourself. When we're seeking external validation we're like a sponge; we soak it up and feel good one moment, and dry out and seek more the next–living by means of external validation to feel good about ourselves puts us on a roller coaster of emotion (and moods) and makes life feel a lot harder. In this episode, I hope to encourage you to find your significance in the One who created you instead, for greater peace and wholeness. In this episode, we draw inspiration from Hebrews 12:1 and explore the call to let go of anything that hinders and weighs us down in our faith journey. Building upon the metaphor of Jesus as the vine and believers as the branches from John 15, we look at the significance of staying connected to Christ for spiritual nourishment and more fruit in our lives. Together, we reflect on the concept of pruning and have a supportive conversation where we can each safely reflect on the areas in our lives that require pruning, asking God to meet us right in the middle of it all. This year (well, in 2022) I found Byron Katie's work and while I want to say I do not follow her work as a spiritual practice I do use a couple of her concepts as tools. One of those concepts is to do what she calls a “turnaround”. Turnarounds are when you take a thought and look at it from every possible angle and opposite and find a statement as true, or truer than what you had been thinking previously. This helps you release the stress a thought is causing you. Read the blog post: https://www.paigeschmidt.com/how-to-turn-a-thought-around-turnarounds/ Want Coaching?
