Send us Fan MailThis week, Pastor Eric takes us into the book of Proverbs, where wisdom isn't just something we know—it's something we live. In a world full of opinions, quick fixes, and endless advice, Proverbs reminds us that true wisdom begins with reverence for God and is revealed in the choices we make every day.Wisdom is more than knowledge. It's learning to listen, discern, and apply God's truth to our relationships, words, decisions, and priorities. As you listen, consider: Where are you seeking wisdom right now? Are your daily choices reflecting God's truth or the world's advice? Is there an area of your life where you know what is right, but haven't acted on it? Who are you allowing to influence your thinking and direction? God doesn't just want us to be informed—He wants us to be transformed. Join us as we discover how the timeless wisdom of Proverbs can guide our everyday lives and help us walk in God's best.Support the show

The question is, "Am I listening?"As we explore Solomon's life, consider this important challenge:What sacred thing has God entrusted to you that you've stopped intentionally protecting?Your time with God?Your family?Your calling?Your thought life?Your wonder for the things of God?Tune in as we discover how listening to God's wisdom can help us faithfully guard the gifts He has placed in our care.Support the show
#172 A recent cultural projection suggests that by 2030, nearly half of women, ages 25-44, in the U.S. could be single and without children. For women who hope to marry someday, that's discouraging news. But cultural projections don't determine your future--God does.In this final episode of Loving Your Husband Before You Even Have One, Kim and her husband Sean discuss four practical steps single women can take to live faithfully, pursue God wholeheartedly, and move forward with hope regardless of what the projections say.Resources mentioned:Episodes #54, #120, #146, & #164"Something's Missing" by John MayerAlpha Program: https://alphausa.org/The Bible Recap: https://www.thebiblerecap.com/A Praying Life by Paul MillerLoving Your Husband Before You Even Have One bookhttps://www.amazon.com/Loving-Your-Husband-Before-Even/dp/196280254X/ref=monarch_sidesheet_titleWebsite: kimvollendorf.comEmail: kim@kimvollendorf.com

Send us Fan MailThis week on The Bible Recap, Pastor Eric walks through the life of Solomon and the tension of a man who loved God sincerely—but incompletely. Together we wrestle with the question: if God handed you a blank check like He did Solomon, what would you ask for?Solomon asked for a discerning heart, and through his story we see that God's wisdom was never meant to elevate ourselves—it was meant to serve people. True wisdom treats people fairly, especially when situations get messy and complicated. This conversation also challenges us to think about our own spiritual formation. What are we building into our lives now that will carry us through later? Spiritual formation matters because it's the foundation that sustains us through both blessing and hardship.Join Pastor Eric for an honest and practical conversation about wisdom, leadership, discernment, and the kind of faith that lasts.Support the show
Send us Fan MailThis week takes us into 2 Samuel and several of the Psalms, where we uncover some of the lies men often believe and discover a deeper side of God's love. This week's reading reminds us that God's correction is not punishment without purpose; it's evidence of His care. He can be trusted enough to correct us because He loves us too much to leave us in our brokenness. Support the show

Send us Fan MailPastor Julie shares her “God shots” from this week's readings, offering insight and encouragement to stay grounded in the Gospel daily. She reminds us that when we drift from God's Word, our minds begin to create their own version of truth. To remain anchored, we must intentionally stay rooted in Scripture; renewing our minds, strengthening our faith, and aligning our thoughts with God's truth each day. As we do, we are called to stay teachable, keeping our hearts open to what God wants to show us.Support the show

In this conversation with Tara-Leigh Cobble, founder of D-Group and host of The Bible Recap, Tara shares how moving from “Bible exposure” to true “Bible engagement” transformed her faith and led to the creation of The Bible Recap for Kids and its companion podcast. She encourages parents to model a genuine love for Scripture, invite kids into conversations about who God is (not just behavior modification), and practice looking for God's character in daily Bible reading. With practical ideas like sharing a daily “God shot” and engaging Scripture together as a family, Tara offers hopeful, accessible ways to help kids not just read the Bible—but understand it and fall in love with God. #169 What do you do when God gives you a piece of your story that doesn't make sense?Maybe it's prolonged singleness. Maybe it's a closed door, a disappointment, or a season you never would have chosen. In this meaningful sunset-season conversation, Kim sits down with co-hosts Jena and Char to talk about what Jena calls the “red puzzle pieces” of life—the unexpected, confusing, and often painful circumstances that don't seem to fit with the rest of the picture.Through honest stories and biblical truth from Proverbs 3:5–6, Jena shares three powerful anchors that have helped her trust God in seasons that felt uncertain, including singleness, health challenges, and unanswered questions.Together, they explore how to: • Trust God's character when life doesn't make sense • Stop relying on your own understanding and timelines • Seek God even when you don't have answers • Find peace in knowing He is still writing your storyIf you've ever wondered whether God sees you, cares about your situation, or knows what He's doing with your life, this episode will remind you that He does. The red puzzle piece may not make sense today—but one day, you'll see how it became part of something beautiful.Resources mentioned on this episode:We're reading through the Bible together. In this powerful and deeply honest episode of Finding Faith Above, Shelby sits down with Lindsay, a woman of strong faith and biblical conviction, to tackle one of the hardest tensions facing Christians today: Are we called to keep the peace, or to make peace rooted in truth? This conversation goes where many avoid. Together, Shelby and Lindsay unpack the difference between peacekeeping (appeasement and silence) and peacemaking (love grounded in truth) and why confusing the two can have eternal consequences. Sparked by Lindsay's widely shared open letter to her LDS friends, this episode compassionately explores why Christians and Latter-day Saints often use the same language but mean very different things when it comes to God, Jesus, salvation, and truth. These aren't minor theological disagreements. They are foundational questions that shape eternity. You'll hear Lindsay's personal faith journey, including how biblical literacy transformed her walk with Christ, humbled her self-righteousness, and gave her courage to speak truth even when it cost her relationships, comfort, and approval. This is not an episode about winning arguments. It's about loving people enough to tell the truth. Shelby and Lindsay also dive into: Why unity without truth is not biblical peace How to lovingly engage LDS friends without compromising the gospel Why asking hard questions is not dangerous, but necessary How archaeology, ancient manuscripts, and apologetics affirm the reliability of the Bible Why Christianity is an evidence-based faith, not blind belief How biblical literacy equips you to recognize counterfeit gospels If you've ever felt torn between loving people and standing firm in truth, this episode will give language, clarity, and courage to that tension. Coming Home to His Word #RTTBROS #Nightlight"So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." — Romans 10:17You know, I came across a story this week that just warmed my heart. There's a podcast called "The Bible Recap" hosted by a woman named Tara Leigh Cobble, and for the third year in a row, it's climbed into Apple's Top 10 podcasts. We're talking about a daily Bible reading podcast competing with true crime and celebrity interviews. Over 500 million downloads worldwide. But here's what really got me, it's not just numbers. Tara says she's seeing people who walked away from their faith, people who deconstructed everything they once believed, coming back home. Not because someone argued them back, but because they're rediscovering the Word of God.Tara's own story touches me most. She grew up in a Christian home, knew all the right answers, but didn't have any real hunger for Scripture. Then somebody challenged her to read the Bible more deeply, and something shifted. She fell in love with God through His Word. Here's how she put it: "The Bible isn't about me. It's for me. It's not about me. It's about God. It's about who He is."That right there is the game changer, friends. We come to the Bible asking, "What does this say about me?" But when we shift our focus to "What does this reveal about God?", everything changes. The Scriptures become less like a self help manual and more like love letters from our Father. When Tara started this podcast in 2019, she prayed that maybe 300 people would join her. Instead, God did "exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think," as Ephesians 3:20 says. What I love most is her advice to listeners: "If you fall behind, just pick back up. Don't let your perfectionism steal your enthusiasm."Too soon old and too late smart, I've learned that same lesson. It's not about perfect Bible reading streaks. It's about relationship. It's about showing up, even when we've missed a day or a week or longer. The fact that half a billion people are downloading a Bible podcast tells me something important. People are hungry for truth. And whether they realize it or not, they're searching for the God who speaks through His Word.Maybe you've walked away. Maybe you've known about God your whole life but never really fallen in love with Him. Today's the day to come home. Open that Bible. Don't worry about where you left off, just pick it back up. You're right on time.Because faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. And in those pages, you'll find Him. And that changes everything.Let's pray: Father, thank You that Your Word is alive and active. For those who've walked away, draw them back home. For those who've grown cold, rekindle their love for You through Your Scripture. Help us seek You in the pages, not just information about You, but You Yourself. In Jesus' name, Amen.#Faith #BibleReading #ComingHome #GodsWord #SpiritualRenewal #ChristianLiving #DailyDevotion #RTTBROS #NightlightBe sure to Like, Share, Follow and subscribe it helps get the word out.https://linktr.ee/rttbros
Brian From reflects on the surprising rise in Bible engagement through The Bible Recap and what it reveals about a deeper hunger for God’s Word and a belief in a God who does immeasurably more than we can imagine. He then turns to a sobering spiritual question—what could we ever do to repay our debt to Christ—exploring grace, gratitude, and why the answer is ultimately nothing at all. Along the way, Brian challenges cultural trends around money, boredom, productivity, and distraction, calling listeners to move beyond “doing nothing” and instead invest their lives in what truly matters.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
