As adults, food shopping can be a minefield. But when it comes to feeding your kids, the stakes are even higher. Our food environment is rife with misinformation. Brightly coloured labels on packaged, often ultra-processed foods promise high protein, high fibre and low calories. The additives, emulsifiers and mountains of added sugar are hidden in the small print. So how can parents navigate this confusing landscape? Today, we hear from two of the UK's most-trusted nutritionists (and both parents of small children) on how to keep your kids eating well. Rhiannon Lambert has authored four books, including recent Sunday Times bestseller The Science of Plant-Based Nutrition. Half a million people follow her for nutrition advice on Instagram. ZOE's Head Nutritionist, Imperial College London lecturer and bestselling author of Every Body Should Know This, Dr. Federica Amati, joins Rhiannon for today's conversation.
In episode 140, "The Sleep," Amy and Tracy delve into the mystical and esoteric realms of rebirth, exhaustion, rest, and regeneration in our spiritual and personal growth journey. From exploring the alchemical processes of transformation to discerning genuine rest from prolonged states of inertia or avoidance, join us as we uncover the magical interplay between sleep, awakening, and soulful rejuvenation. Tune in to embrace the prophetic wisdom of self-awareness, intuition, and divine timing as we navigate the mysteries of sleep, awakening, and renewal with mindfulness, enchantment, and sacred grace.

Jay Seegert and Mary Danielsen discuss being a witness in a crazy world. The Lord has allowed the church to be here in this season and so we must be about His business. What does that look like? And if even those who don't know God are wondering where our culture disappeared to, it's a ready-made time for us to be looking for opportunities to share the hope in us. Jay is an apologist, creationist, and a great example of someone who is able to reason and stand for truth in any season. This podcast originally aired on 11/16/23. Jay is an in-demand speaker and has authored several books. "Faith is not a Four Letter Word", "Creation to Christ" and "Creation and Evolution" can be found here. Today, Light of the Valleys Lutheran Church in Reno invites you to see God's answer for all those things as we take a closer at Psalm 27:1. #livebrightly

You can't accomplish much with your eyes closed. That's why, in Ephesians 5, Paul tells us that the gospel has opened our eyes so we see what is truly going on. We face spiritual dangers as the devil constantly throws temptations our way. But more importantly, we clearly see the Savior, and all the opportunities we have to serve him every single day.
"Don't wait 'til tomorrow to do what can be done today." Today, Jesus invites us to put that proverb into practice as he reminds us to "Work while it is day." May the words of Jesus is John 9:1-6 give each of us a sense of urgency as we serve the Lord.

This week takes us to the sandy shores of Lake Michigan, as we do a little road trip to Saugatuck and South Haven. We'll take you out on the water, do some shopping, talk to three blondes who brew, and meet up with some fine friends who are cooking up greatness at their very own restaurant finally. We'll even tell you about the most fantastic saltine crackers we've ever had. Intrigued? Here's more:We'll start off at a cute little spot nestled downtown Saugatuck on the shores of the Kalamazoo River. Retro Boat Rentals offers up the sweetest little boats that you can take out, on your own, to cruise around and see Saugatuck from the water. Brightly colored 50's-style little cruisers will make you feel like a vintage movie star, while the donut boats can be packed with friends to bob along with. There are pontoons too, and all the boats have been retrofitted and are electric, so you'll hum along in silence, able to absorb all the sites and sounds of Saugatuck. Grab a beer or a cocktail afterward on their sunny deck to prolong your enjoyment. Next, our friends from LuLu Cadiuex come by and share that they are expanding into a new space in downtown Saugatuck. While their cooking school remains on Blue Star Highway, they'll be moving their store downtown. This is the place to find all sorts of fun things for your home, from table linens to dishes and cookware, to a stacked array of cookbooks. Amy is a big fan of snooping around here and seeing what she might find, from cool clothes to great gifts. Just a few minutes farther down the shore lies South Haven, another beachside gem. During the busy summer time it can be hard to find parking downtown, so we head outside of this bustling area and go straight to Three Blondes Brewing. Located very close to the highway exit, this fun spot is easy to get, and always has a cold beer waiting for you. We talk with Amanda Johnson, one of the three blondes brewing. Finally, we reconnect with some friends who have been making their dreams come true and we couldn't be prouder. Meredith Sherrod owns The Lodge, an absolute banger of a restaurant, bar, and hang-out located just a bit outside of downtown SH. She and her business partner Erica Degrandchamp worked together for years at Captain Lou's, and finally made their dream of owning their very own restaurant a reality when they purchased local spot The Curve. A few years later, this remodeled space features an incredible menu, from their scratch kitchen, all run by these two best friends. Now about those crackers.....find them at The Lodge. Have them with pimento cheese dip. Thank us later.Follow John and Amy:Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/behindthemittenTwitter at @BehindTheMittenInstagram at @BehindTheMitten

We live in a sin darkened world. It is impossible not to see it! We feel it! The darkness of lies, violence, injustice, addiction, abuse, greed, syncretism and an astonishing confusion of the truth. How are we to live in this world? Are we to shrink back in fear? Do we just quietly go about our business hoping not to make a commotion? What would Jesus want us to know and do? First off, Brad looks ahead to a NFL OROY Prop while riding the Plus Bus. From there, he counts down his favorite Friday night wagers across the diamond and on the hardwood. What SP is sledgehammer worthy? How many Ks for Patrick Sandoval? Also, Luka ‘The Don' is about to do what? Brad then reveals his #TeamHuevos Parlay Play in the Cubs/Red Sox showdown, tosses out another plus money SGP in T'Wolves/Suns and a slew of additional BONUS TIME wagers in baseball. Devour the whole enchilada in well under 30 minutes.
What's up, dudes? It's a St. Patrick's Day Christmas when Shawn Robare from Cult Film Club, Crestwood House, and Plastic Rocket Pop and I talk the 1981 Rankin Bass special “The Leprechaun's Christmas Gold!” Written by Romeo Muller, it was originally conceived as a St. Patrick's Day special, but was retooled and released in December instead. Oh, and the word Christmas is just thrown into random sentences. One hundred years ago, two leprechaun clans existed. Their gold, unfortunately, attracted the banshee Old Mag the Hag, who used her shapeshifting abilities to cause a rift between the clans. Blarney Kilakilarney, leader of the gold-mining faction, asks Patrick, Lord of the Leprechauns for help. Subsequently, he tricks Mag into turning to tears, and Blarney plants a pine cone atop her puddle. The pine cone, taken from a tree planted by St. Patrick himself, grows into a beautiful tree. Meanwhile, present day sailor Dinty Doyle chops down the tree to use for Christmas. The oblivious boy accidentally releases the banshee, who immediately resumes her quest for gold. Consequently, Blarney gives the gold to Dinty, who is almost instantly tricked by the banshee into giving it to her. Luckily, she doesn't reach it by Christmas morning and turns to tears! Weird, right?!Powerful leprechaun wizard lord? Check. Weather controlling shape shifting banshee? Got it. Brightly colored clogs made by the O'Clogjiggers? Yes, but only if they can be distributed amongst the Irish people! So grab your gold, dig up your Christmas tree, and sail into this episode on “The Leprechaun's Christmas Gold!”Cult Film ClubFB: @CultFilmClub Twitter: @CFCPod IG: @cultfilmclub Check us out on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Totally Rad Christmas Mall & Arcade, Teepublic.com, or TotallyRadChristmas.com!
