"Confidence is not an inherent trait but rather a skill that can be cultivated through practice and faith." ~Tami Imlay When I talk to people about what they need to make things happen…they typically say motivation and confidence. I have spoken of motivation being a by-product of action…it's a by-product of the progress we see as we take action. Today, I wanted to dive into today is how confidence is good- but UNSHAKABLE confidence is even better. The cool thing is that we can have unshakable confidence right now! We can dive into it and build that muscle like building a bicep! Ready to see what's possible? Ready to take action? Book a Call with Me! Set a time on your calendar right before our call to take a moment and breathe. This is the only preparation you'll need. It's that easy! Join the call and allow your heart to be heard and seen. Let's dive into three essential steps to make any dream come true: Step Outside Your Comfort Zone: Life doesn't happen in your comfort zone. It's where growth gets stunted. Embrace the discomfort, the “what did I just do” moments. You're not alone in this; many women are navigating this zone too. Share your journey with a friend for support and encouragement. Make Sacrifices: Sacrifice today's comfort for tomorrow's success. This might mean less Netflix and more time reading or working on your goals. I did it as a single mom with toddlers, balancing school, work, and an internship. Know what you're not willing to sacrifice too—like your core values or essential self-care. Persist Through Failure: Setbacks aren't the end; they're part of the journey. I had to embrace being an entrepreneur, learning from failures and pushing through. Know yourself, your purpose, and let God guide you. Success comes when you align your actions with who God created you to be. Key Takeaways: Confidence as a Skill: Confidence is not an inherent trait but a skill that can be cultivated through practice and faith. Faith-Based Confidence: For those who follow Christ, confidence is bolstered by divine support and guidance, providing a spiritual foundation for their actions. Resting in God: Confidence is rooted in faith, supported by biblical passages that encourage strength, courage, and self-discipline. Positive Self-Talk: Positive self-talk is crucial in building confidence. Focusing on strengths and past achievements can help overcome self-doubt. Indicators of Low Confidence:Seeking approval from others can erode self-confidence. Avoiding challenges stifles personal growth. Negative self-talk fosters self-doubt. Characteristics of Unshakable Confidence:Willingness to take risks. Handling criticism constructively. Consistency in actions and decisions. Strategies for Building Confidence:Embrace small steps for gradual confidence growth. Maintain an evidence list of past successes. Surround yourself with confident people for inspiration and motivation. Vision and Purpose: Having a vision for one's life and aligning it with purpose is integral to building unshakable confidence. Journal Question: Reflect on a recent challenge you faced. How did your self-talk influence your approach to this challenge, and what steps can you take to ensure your self-talk supports your confidence in future situations? It can be hard to act like the Holy Spirit is living inside of us. We know the Bible stories, we've seen the Spirit move, but we don't always live like we believe the Spirit can work in us. Enemies, threats and fears have this in common. When you stare at them, they get bigger. Psalm 27 is a call to shift our focus from what might shake us, to the unshakable presence of God. We are to seek His face and find shelter and courage. More so, we find that we are loved. Psalms of Intimacy With God: A marriage is not just a set of obligations. Parenting is not simply a role of protection and provision. The most vital relationships of life are meant to be intimate connections of heart. So too with our relationship with God. In this 5-message series, Dr. John points to the Psalms as both invitation and instruction to know God deeply. Exactly what we want and need.

5–Minute Parenting: Tips to Help You Raise Competent, Godly Kids.
We've all read statistics about how child and teen depression has been on a steady increase since COVID and with the increasing popularity of social media. Bullying is also on the rise, and right behind it is teen suicide. In her book, God-Confident Kids: Helping Your Child Find True Purpose, Passion, and Peace, Cyndie Claypool De Neve's says, “There is a confidence crisis in a generation of hurting kids, and confused parents struggling to guide them through an obstacle course of stressors unique to this era. To respond to this crisis by telling our kids they're the “best,” “prettiest,” “smartest,” and “strongest,” is overstroking their confidence while teetering on creating entitled narcissists. We set kids up for failure when we teach them to be self-confident, which is solely based on how they feel about their strengths, talents, competence, and looks and is often determined by what others say about them.“So just what is God-confidence?God-confidence is knowing that the God of the universe handcrafted each of us for a purpose and that He will give us strength, courage, and wisdom, and all the gifts we need to do the tasks He has set before us. Self-confidence promotes relying on one's self to accomplish our own purpose, but God-confidence reminds us to rely on God.As parents we need to be encouraging our children to build their God-confidence, trusting in Him who designed each of them for a unique purpose with unique talents and gifts.I'm excited to announce that my kid's devotional for ages 8-12: Fingerprint Devotions: 40 Devotions That Help You Realize You Are a Kid Uniquely Created by God for a Purpose by Ambassador International Publishers, is now available at all major outlets and on Amazon (click link). In this empowering episode, we go into the concept of with-God confidence, embracing the assurance that God is leading us and we can trust in His plan. It's not about having more confidence in ourselves, but rather, having confidence that God fearfully and wonderfully made us with a clear purpose in mind. As we surrender to Him, we discover that we need not be afraid, for He will use every aspect of our lives for good.
