The Basic Bible Podcast seeks to take high-level theology and place it down on the bottom shelf for everyone to enjoy. That’s right – enjoy. Theology is not merely an academic pursuit but a passionate journey to learn more about our relationship with God. Each week we will discuss a different theological concept and unpack its meaning in a way that is both edifying and applicable. Joining us will be local pastors and theologians with a desire to see you grow as we discuss the truths we hold so dear. We’ll define our terms, look at the pertinent Scripture, discuss dangers to be avoided and then always end on a practical note. We’ll make it easy for you to think through and then leave you with a few resources in case you want to dive in a little deeper. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Our last two episodes we spoke about the tragedy of abortion. In this episode we look at just the opposite, adoption. This week on the podcast we're chatting with Dave Deets about his new book, When Men Have Miscarriages. Here's a quick description, "It is estimated that nearly half of all pregnancies will end in miscarriage. This is devastating for the couple as they endure the loss of their unborn child. For men however, there is often a silent pain that is never expressed or acknowledged. The story that Dave shares of his family's journey through multiple miscarriages is meant to be an encouragement and help to the thousands of men who have dealt with the trauma of miscarriage in silence. This book is real, it is raw, and it is relevant.
