Almost three years ago, some 200 inmates at Maplehurst Correctional Facility in Milton, Ont. were subjected to strip searches, zip ties and pepper spray during an violent incident that lasted more than a day. Since then, multiple sentences have either been shortened or thrown out, including a first-degree murder case from 2022. The provincial ombudsman has since launched an investigation to find out what exactly happened during the incident, and why prison officials reportedly lied about it. Host Maria Kestane speaks to Brendan Kennedy, an investigative reporter with the Toronto Star to discuss the conditions in Maplehurst that might've led to the incident, and why the Ford government has been so quiet on it. Ro Khanna went on Face the Nation and said he believes Lindsey Fifield's account of her abusive relationship with Maine Senate candidate Graham Platner — and then kept campaigning for Platner anyway, hiding behind the line "there's no evidence of violence." Michael DiSabato - Wexit / The Survivors of the OSU Abuse Scandal (Part 1)Michael DiSabato is one of the survivors of one of the most egregious breaches of trust in American history. He was a victim in the OSU Bath house scandal, something the Opperman Report has been covering for years. It is time for justice for the survivors and the families of those who never made it.wexit.orgBackground: (from Wikipedia)The Ohio State University abuse scandal centered on allegations of sexual abuse that occurred between 1978 and 1998, while Richard Strauss was employed as a physician by the Ohio State University (OSU) in the Athletics Department and in the Student Health Center. An independent investigation into the allegations was announced in April 2018 and was conducted by the law firm Perkins Coie.In July 2018, several former wrestlers accused former head coach Russ Hellickson and U.S. representative Jim Jordan, who was an assistant coach at OSU between 1987 and 1994, of knowing about Strauss's alleged abuse but failing to take action to stop it. Jordan has denied that he had any student-athlete report sexual abuse to him.The report, released in May 2019, concluded that Strauss abused at least 177 male student-patients and that OSU was aware of the abuse as early as 1979, but the abuse was not widely known outside of athletics or student health until 1996, when he was suspended from his duties. Strauss continued to abuse OSU students at an off-campus clinic until his retirement from the university in 1998. OSU was faulted in the report for failing to report Strauss's conduct to law enforcement.Previous Shows on this subject on PatreonSteve Snyder Rocky RatliffOpperman LivePrevious Shows on this subject on SpreakerSteve SnyderJim Jordan Bathhouse ScandalBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-opperman-report--1198501/support.

When Chris Elston invested thousands of dollars to commission an “I Love JK Rowling” billboard in his Canadian hometown, it was removed within a day. Those who took it down thought they were shutting him up for good but instead, they unintentionally created a powerful force against political correctness. Realizing that any billboard could be silenced, Chris concluded that the only sign they couldn't take down was the one he wore himself. And with that, “Billboard Chris” was born.Since then, Chris has made waves across college campuses, government institutions, and public squares, sharing his core message: “Children cannot consent to puberty blockers.” Along the way, police have occasionally detained him — not because he was breaking any laws, but because his message made some people uncomfortable. Yet none of this has stopped him. If anything, it has strengthened his resolve.Join us to hear more about his extraordinary journey and to discover how each of us holds more influence than we realize when we refuse to be intimidated into silence.Chris's website: https://www.billboardchris.com/Join our new Patreon community! https://patreon.com/lilaroseshow - We'll have BTS footage, ad-free episodes, and early access to our upcoming guests.A big thanks to our partner, EWTN, the world's leading Catholic network! In 2016, ex-footballer Andy Woodward revealed on live TV that he and countless other boys were sexually abused by their former youth coach, Barry Bennell, whilst training in Manchester City and Crewe Alexandra's acclaimed “football factories” as youngsters in the 1980s and 90s. In doing so, he blew the whistle on one of the UK's most prolific child abusers – and triggered a scandal that went deeper than anyone could've imagined…Because Barry Bennell wasn't the first – or the last – paedophilic predator to muddy the pitch of the beautiful game. The widespread child abuse scandal tore through the heart of British football, revealing a toxic culture more interested in collecting trophies than protecting children.Support links:The Offside Trust – Survivor-led support organisation dedicated to safeguarding children & young people across sportNSPCC – The UK Children's CharityExclusive bonus content:Wondery - Ad-free & ShortHandPatreon - Ad-free & Bonus EpisodesFollow us on social media:YouTubeTikTokInstagramVisit our website:WebsiteSources available on redhandedpodcast.comSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Ondřej Provazník is the writer-director of Broken Voices, a new Czech drama that is in the main competition at the ongoing Karlovy Vary International Film Festival . The powerful picture follows a 13-year-old girl as she comes under the sway of the conductor of her choir and is inspired by a scandal centred on the head of a Prague girls' choir, who was jailed on multiple sexual abuse charges. I spoke to Provazník ahead of the world premiere of the film, whose Czech title Sbormistr translates literally as The Choirmaster.
Kristin Louise Duncombe grew up traveling the world as the daughter of a U.S. State Department foreign service officer. But Kristin's childhood and those of at least six other girls were shattered when they crossed paths with an American diplomat in Africa who sexually abused them. After one of the girls came forward with her story, the State Department swiftly sent him back to Washington, but officials declined to refer the case for investigation or prosecution. Kristin kept the secret for decades until she heard about the cover-up of sexual abuse by U.S. Gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar. Hi guys, we hope you had a fabulous Easter! We just got back from the high seas and have a new show with stories coming out of a New York City courtroom, a Pennsylvania prison, the U.K. Supreme Court… and a lab in Alabama.First of all: Free Harvey Weinstein. Yes, you heard that right. On this week's show, we explain why the retrial of the über-liberal Hollywood producer for sex offenses should alarm conservatives. We'll bring you the latest on the case—a miscarriage of justice currently unfolding in a New York courtroom.Mob justice is mob justice—whether it's against a leftist Hollywood producer or a former President. And leftists discover that an embryo is a human (when it suits them). We reveal how a New York Times journalist comes to a shocking realization when investigating IVF… you'll have to watch the show to find out what it is.Across the pond, the U.K. Supreme Court declares: a woman is a woman. The suspense was killing us, but now we officially know what a woman is. We examine the backlash to this simple truth.Plus, we interview a truth-seeking investigative journalist who wants you to take a fresh look at the Jerry Sandusky/Penn State child sex abuse scandal. Let us know in the comments what you think of his conclusions. As you probably know, Pope Francis died on Monday. Stay tuned for our upcoming content to understand how history's most left-wing Pope was increasingly left behind as his congregation (particularly in the U.S.) grew tired of progressivism. Will his replacement be any different?P.S. Last but not least—subscribe and leave a comment wherever you get our content! We may read it on the air—both the good and the bad—just like we did this week.

Being a cultural Christian used to be an insult, but more people are embracing the label with pride. The Holy Post crew unpacks what's behind the growing affection for cultural Christianity, and they explain why it's more important than ever to embrace the weird, supernatural beliefs of the faith. Historian Kristen Kobes Du Mez is back to discuss her new documentary, “For Our Daughters,” about the sexual abuse scandals that have shaken the faith of many in the church. She sees a link between the theology and culture that created and covered-up sexual abuse in the church, and the rise of political idolatry within evangelicalism. Also this week—hurricanes are now political, and a Haitian pastor in New Hampshire with a sense of humor invites pets to his church.
