Five new Binky Patrol chapters have launched — St. Marys, Georgia; Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania; Janesville, Wisconsin; Sharon, Wisconsin; and a drop-off location near Oregon State University in Corvallis. Pennsylvania's newest chapter made 86 blankets at their very first Binkathon, with a football team and student volunteers showing up to help. June 20th marks Binky Patrol's official 30th anniversary — the date a shout-out on the Oprah Winfrey Show in 1996 turned a 30-day-old Laguna Beach group into a national organization, triggering 800+ calls in 48 hours. Some of those original chapters are still active. Oregon volunteers: storage cleanout is this Saturday. Fleece, flannel, cotton, batting, and soft washable yarn only. No stretchy fabric, no sheer curtains, no burlap. The October Binkathon is open to all chapters. Find yours — or start one — at binkypatrol.org. Double Tap - Ep 456 This episode of Double Tap is brought to you by: C&G Holsters (Code: WLSISLIFE) Midwest Industries (Code: WLSISLIFE) Blue Alpha Bowers Group (Code: WLS) Otis Technology (Code: WELIKESHOOTING15) Text Dear WLS or Reviews +1 743 500 2171 Public Show Titles GunCon.net Tickets on sale now. Use code AGENCY171 DEAR WLS Question from Kyle R I have a Henry Supreme in 300 blk out used as a range toy. With the SBR tax stamps going to $0, I am considering having the barrel cut and threaded to 11”. This is basically the end of the stock forearm. I'm running it suppressed with subs only, as God and Jeremy demand. Is getting 5” cut off worth the effort for the performance/enjoyment return? Question from Andrew H Hey dudes, long time listener here dating back to 2016 and second time questioner. I'm in the market for a semi auto .22lr handgun so I'm sure Shawn already hates this question. It's purpose would be for frequent cheap target practice, and maybe occasional EDC as I prefer to carry 9mm. I am kind of between the Walther P22Q (tactical?) or the Taurus TX22, however welcome the groups recommendations on other firearms as well. Historically I've disliked every Taurus I've held or shot. Reviews are mixed on the P22 but I like the look and feel better. Love the show and all you guys do. Thanks until next time. #ssb Question from Nick F this year I turn 44, naturally I'd like to get myself a 44 magnum. y'all got any suggestions to solve my dirty harry dilemma? Question from Kyle R I was excited last year for Ohio to be hosting Guncon, but disappointed I couldn't make it. Sounds like I missed a bullet though. With Patton trying again, this time outside of “BEAUTIFUL” Youngstown, I'll get a second chance. Are all of the cast planning on going? Could this be the trip that finally gets Shawn to quit being a Commie and move to a respectable state? Question from Ben Dover Can you suggest a decently light hunting rifle chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor? I have a Bergara B-14 HMR and I'd prefer something that weighs a bit less. Not looking to get into a Bergara after my first experience GUN INDUSTRY NEWS TACWRK Announces Tasmanian Tiger TT Mega Mil OPS Pack 600 TACWRK, in collaboration with Ripperkon, has released the largest Tasmanian Tiger backpack ever built, the TT Mega Mil OPS Pack 600, boasting a 900-liter capacity in Olive. Most people look at the abandoned former General Motors plant site in Janesville, Wisconsin and see a fenced-off, 250-acre plot contaminated with heavy metals and “forever chemicals” after decades of automotive manufacturing. But some just see a nice new home for an AI data center complex.According to Politico, the site, which has sat idle for years, could now be snapped up by a Colorado-based investment group. It's promising to cover the $30 million bill to clean up the land and place an $8 billion data center campus where a busy factory once stood.GM's Samson Tractor Division first started building tractors at the Janesville site in 1919 and vehicle production continued until 2008. About 10 years later, the factory was demolished. In the years since, the city sought to buy the brownfield site and redevelop it.#AI #DataCenter #Janesville #Wisconsin #Manufacturing #TechNews #ArtificialIntelligence #EconomicDevelopment #Brownfield #FactorySite #Industry40 #DigitalInfrastructure #EnergyUse #Sustainability #Jobs #Construction #FutureOfWork #SmartCities #Innovation #USManufacturing #IndustrialSite #CloudComputing #BigTech #Infrastructure #BusinessNews

Looking for an honest truck review with real numbers and a big-picture take on where the market's heading? We put the 2025 Ford F-150 STX SuperCrew 4x4 through its paces and share what matters: towing capacity, payload, highway manners, and the surprising value packed into a lower-trim workhorse. The 5.0L V8 and 10-speed deliver confident power and direct steering, while the standard 12-inch screen, LED lighting, and practical 60/40 rear seat storage make daily life easier. We dig into fuel economy, pricing that ranges from budget-friendly to nicely equipped, and how the STX compares to Ram 1500, Toyota Tundra, and Chevy Silverado. Then we tee up a future compare with the F-150 King Ranch hybrid to show how far the lineup stretches. We also tell a one-of-a-kind story from GM's Janesville days: a tiny bar so close to the assembly plant that workers hopped a fence for lunch beers. It outlasted the factory before redevelopment finally erased it, making space for a proposed $8B data center. It's a vivid look at how car culture shapes communities—and how those spaces evolve.Market reality gets equal airtime. EV registrations slipped for the first time in years, and we unpack why: price sensitivity, incentive changes, and charging friction that push mainstream buyers toward hybrids. We talk brand-by-brand turbulence, Tesla's smaller dip, Cadillac's surprising pop from a low base, and Toyota's patient strategy that prizes reliability, hybrids, and measured rollouts. Plus, a rapid-fire racing calendar—NHRA in Gainesville, F1 drama over energy-saving race formats, IndyCar on a tight oval, and NASCAR weekend viewing—so your motorsports schedule is set.If you care about trucks, performance, reliability, and the shifting auto landscape, this one connects the dots with numbers, stories, and straight talk. Milfred and Hands assess the flurry of data centers being proposed across Wisconsin in communities such as Mount Pleasant, Beaver Dam, Janesville, Grant County and, until recently, DeForest. The billion-dollar projects are needed to support our phones, computers, electronic devices and artificial intelligence. But they also will consume, in many cases, more energy than the cities where they hope to locate. That risks undermining Wisconsin's goal to be carbon neutral by 2050 if the Public Service Commission approves more natural gas plants to power the centers. Our political podcasters play audio clips from the Wisconsin Policy Forum's recent forum in Milwaukee on data center development.
This week on Hysteria 51, we're serving up a double feature where nature chooses violence… and humanity chooses unhinged.First: Janesville, Wisconsin is apparently living inside a Thanksgiving-themed action movie. A flock of wild turkeys has been chasing people, hassling a postal worker, blocking traffic, and generally running the neighborhood like feathery little HOA enforcers with anger issues. One local even caught the chaos on camera. If you've ever wondered what it's like to be offering peace and goodwill to all… while a bird the size of a small child sprints at you with murder in its eyes, welcome home. Then we pivot from “street menace” to “please evacuate the entire building”: a man showed up at a hospital with a World War I artillery shell lodged in his rectum, prompting a hospital evacuation and a bomb squad response because, yes, it was reported as potentially live. Doctors had to remove it surgically, and everyone involved probably aged ten years in one evening. It's the kind of headline that makes you whisper, “how” and then immediately decide you don't actually want the answer. So buckle up for an episode packed with weird news, small-town terror turkeys, and ER chaos so intense it came with its own security perimeter. If you like your comedy dark, your science nonexistent, and your survival instincts activated by poultry… this one's for you.Links & Resources

Hello and welcome to this best of edition of the Civic Media Spotlight! We kick things off with Mornings with Pat Krietlow. Pat talks with Joe Zepecki and Melissa Baldauff about where the last year has taken them personally and politically, using Wisconsin as the lens. The conversation looks at what worked, what didn't, and how Democrats might realistically position themselves to take full control of state government in 2026. Up next, John and Gordy welcome Mike McCabe for a deep dive into the growing crisis facing Wisconsin farmers. McCabe connects immigration policy, the Egg Bill, and labor shortages to an alarming rise in farm bankruptcies, painting a picture of how policy decisions are hitting rural communities hard. On Max Ink Radio, Teri Barr sits down with Kirstie Kraus, fresh off her second tour of England. The Janesville-born artist talks about expanding her career in Nashville, collaborating with high-level musicians, and putting a new spin on a familiar Christmas favorite. Mike McCabe joins John and Gordy for another conversation to unpack his latest Substack piece, “Looking the Wrong Way.” He explains how political leaders often focus on the wrong targets, avoiding the deeper issues that actually need attention. The 98th National FFA Convention officially begins today in Indianapolis, Indiana. Jill Welke is there with Wisconsin's State FFA President, Amalia Draxler. Draxler previews some of the planned events and duties the state's officers will be undertaking to help the convention move along. Sunshine should dominate Wisconsin's weather today. Stu Muck says the temperatures stay consistent but the winds pick up. Wyffels Hybrids brings us a field update with Stephanie Hoff. Luke Bird is the Wyffels district manager out of Rock, Walworth, Racine, and Kenosha counties. He says that as the government continues to be shut down and we don’t get a crop progress and condition report from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Wyffels Harvest Progress Report is a great resource for not just harvest updates, but yield estimates. While visiting the harvest report, don't forget to plug and play with new Wyffels Hybrid selections on the Yield Calculator, also available on the Agronomy tab. Mary Schreiber from East Troy is wrapping up her year of service as the Central Region Vice President on the National FFA Officer team. She explains that she's covered about 90,000 miles in service so far. One visit that sticks with Schreiber is a chapter visit in West Virginia. She met an enthusiastic member who "bled blue and gold". What Mary later found out was that the member was living with her grandparents after one parent died of substance abuse, and the other was still battling the disease. Mary said the FFA advisors became surrogate parents to this member. She admits that the story startled her and reminded her that the FFA is more than just agriculture and leadership - it's family. Data centers are popping up in more conversations across the state. Some are small in scale - others are "hyper" in size. Ben Jarboe travelled to Janesville this week where organizers were asking for answers and transparency on a proposed data center for a former GM plant location. Cassandra Pope, organizer of No Janesville Data Centers, shares her perspective on the process and the project.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Currently in Wisconsin there are 47 data centers proposed with one of these being in Janesville. These proposals have sparked concerns from the communities leading to rallies. Cassandra Pope is the organizer of the No Janesville Data Center group. She says one of the biggest worries is the not knowing.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
The strike at Mercy Health East Clinic in Janesville enters its 100th day and UAW Local 95 holds a solidarity rally, Boeing is ignoring striking Machinists and training scabs as the strike near St. Louis enters its third month, Labor Radio speaks to a local president of a federal employees union about how the US government shutdown is being used to heighten the anti-worker attacks of the Trump administration, and workers at Anodyne Coffee in Milwaukee vote 100% to unionize--which doesn't keep management from challenging it. How often do we sit back and notice the farming family? Doug Rebout and his wife, Christine, have made their life farming with his family just outside of Janesville. Rebout says he loves talking about his family farm and how he works side by side with his brothers. That's allowed him to enjoy some very special moments with his daughter, Natalia. Doug and Christine traveled to Ukraine to adopt Natalia when she was just 2 years old. They were aware that she came with physical and mental challenges that they - and their families - would have to deal with. Rebout says it's easy to talk about family farms and how special they are, but there is more to “family” than we may initially think about. Rebout says when Natalia was little, family flocked to assist in her care, but as she grew older - those resources became a little depleted. He says that between her physical needs and mental issues, Natalia's care became more complex. With fewer resources available in rural communities, many turn to their families for extra help. He says he was very blessed that people were there, but reminds anyone facing this kind of personal challenge, to keep reaching out and sharing. Doug and his wife found some solace in a dance group that Natalia became involved with. It wasn't just about watching their daughter perform with others, it was about sharing stories and getting advice from the other parents in the group on what they were dealing with, and how they were managing. Rebout's message to other families facing these kind of personal challenges - just keep sharing. Keep talking, keep looking for people and resources that can help you manage through the unique situation you're living in. This mental health series is spearheaded by Rural Mutual Insurance.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Following Tony Evers photo op at a besieged free clinic in Eau Claire, we discuss the serious structural problems with our current healthcare delivery system. While hospital monopolies siphon off billions in profits, we pay some of the highest costs in the nation, and yet hospitals across the state are either closing or cutting vital services such as emergency care and birthing units, especially in rural areas and urban neighborhoods. The hospital monopolies are non profits in name only and are acting like highly regulated for-profit industries like Wall Street banks and fossil fuel utilities. It is long overdue for the hospital industry to lose its special protections and be regulated in the public interest A new report finds Wisconsin is struggling to keep teachers who are leaving the state or profession. We make the direct connection to lack of state funding for more than a generation. It's why we need candidates in 2026 who will fight for this funding and raise the revenue needed to meet our most pressing priorities. We discuss contrasting town halls last week by Republican Congress members Brian Stiel and Tom Tiffany. While Stiel had the guts to stand in front of his constituents, unlike Tiffany and the infamous Derrick Van Ordin, the reaction of his constituents shows the growing public anger over Trump's massive cuts to Medicaid and Food Shares. Meanwhile, Wisconsin legislators express phony outrage over Canadian forest fires and file faux complaints with an international body that requires cooperation not dictates from one country. If they really gave a darn about wild fires they would help address the cause of worsening global warming, the massive over burning of fossil fuels that could be replaced by clean renewable energy and energy efficiency measures. We close with a briefing on some state labor movement news, including the ongoing strike by healthcare workers at Janesville's MercyHealth East, workers at Pathfinders in Milwaukee announce organizing drive seeking employer recognition, and Wisconsin video game workers who were first to unionize at a major U.S. studio, now have their first contract.
Hosting weddings on the farm is a strategy to diversify income and protect growers from market volatility. But "wedding barns" have been limited by updated alcohol policies. Jean Bahn of Farmview Event Barn in Berlin updates Mid-West Farm Report on the lawsuit fighting the new rules. Jean says 2026 weddings are in jeopardy. A cool front is on its way, says ag meteorologist Stu Muck. Where does the mint in your toothpaste and chewing gum come from? Believe it or not -- Wisconsin! At Still Harvest Farm in Rock County, partners Trip Downing and DJ Waller are growing and processing peppermint just south of Janesville. The harvest is underway now, keeping them busy during the typically quieter summer months between corn and soybean seasons. A large staff is required to successfully host an event as big as the Wisconsin State Fair. Samantha Dennis tells us about the scope of their staff and what they look for when hiring seasonal workers to handle the livestock barns, for example. Market advisor John Heinberg of Total Farm Marketing in West Bend says no change in the latest cattle on feed and cattle inventory reports. Crop ratings are very strong, with soybeans trending exceptionally higher. The weather is excellent for crops moving forward. U.S.-China trade negotiations are going on in Stockholm.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
