On today's episode, we are graced with Kristen Maldonado, a vibrant storyteller whose passion for pop culture and digital strategy has led her to roles like Social Media Manager at MTV's "Total Request Live." Kristen's journey from theater major to social media powerhouse is nothing short of inspiring, filled with twists, determination, and a lot of heart.Kristen started her career as a theater enthusiast before pivoting into journalism, where she discovered her love for entertainment reporting. Reflecting on her college days, she shares how a late switch to journalism opened doors, ultimately landing her a life-changing internship at Viacom. Her trajectory underscores a powerful lesson: "You have to do the work yourself; no one is going to hand it to you." This mantra has guided her through internships and into the digital realm of social media management, where she now thrives. Her passion for storytelling shines as she recounts her experience managing social media for iconic brands like MTV. Kristen explains the delicate art of digital strategy, where authenticity reigns supreme. “It's not just about putting content out there; it's about creating something people can genuinely connect with,” she emphasizes. From cutting viral clips for shows like "Ridiculousness" to brainstorming strategies for new TV launches, her work exemplifies the intersection of creativity and precision.Kristen's love for pop culture doesn't stop at her professional life; it spills over into her personal projects, including her YouTube channel. Here, she dives into reviews, interviews, and discussions about everything from movies to books. This channel, she says, started as a way to share her voice and explore her passions: “No one was going to put me on air, so I created my own platform.” Her journey as a content creator mirrors the entrepreneurial spirit she encourages in others. But even in a world of likes, retweets, and shares, challenges abound. Kristen talks about dealing with trolls and negativity, both on professional and personal platforms. Her response? Grace and kindness. “If someone doesn't like what I post, it's fine—they still watched it,” she quips. Her approach speaks volumes about maintaining balance and perspective in the sometimes chaotic digital landscape.Kristen also shares insights into the evolving social media landscape. She discusses the importance of natively posting content tailored to specific platforms, noting how even small details like video dimensions can influence engagement. The key, she says, is to stay authentic while paying close attention to what resonates with audiences.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/indie-film-hustle-a-filmmaking-podcast--2664729/support.

Bible Study Don't just take our word for it . . . take His! We would encourage you to spend time examining the following Scriptures that shaped this sermon: . Sermon Outline Kneel before the King who (i) masters us more gracious, (ii) rivals us more masterfully, and (iii) wounds us more transformingly, than we could dare to imagine. Sermon Questions Who is the other figure in Matthew's Gospel who demands that someone fall down and worship him? (See Matthew 4:9.) Why is this scene significant for the story Matthew tells? The magi's gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh have long been understood to refer, theologically, to almsgiving, prayer, and fasting. How are you doing in offering Christ these gifts? St Augustine said, "Change of way means change of life." As you leave this study, you also go out — like the magi — "by another way." In what immediate ways will your life need to change?
Nahuel no venía a desestabilizar Venezuela. Visioncorps is accepting Braille letters to send to Santa. Kids who submit a letter will hear back even if it is after Christmas. Erika Rothermel is a teacher of the blind and visually impaired at Visioncorps. “So being able to write a letter to Santa is a long standing tradition that children have been doing for years. But being able to open it up to the Braille population has been a new adventure. And it's, yeah, something fun to include everybody. So we started doing that here at Vision Core about five years ago, “said Rothermel. 9-year-old JJ Maldonado took advantage of the opportunity and is looking forward to hear back from Santa soon. “I asked for a microphone.. and a police car, “said Maldonado.” Maldonado’s mother, Yaritza Riversa says Visioncorps has helped with JJ’s journey. JJ was diagnosed with cancer at just a month old. “He was born with cancer. It's a genetic type of cancer. But he's that one person that was actually born without mom and dad having that gene. And it is bilateral, meaning he has it in both eyes, “said Rivera. He began chemo at just three months old and underwent a lot of chemo and radiation. “He actually got his right eye removed at the age of three years old. And that's kind of where the vision kind of went down a little bit. I'm the only eye he had. And so, yeah, and then Vision Corp kicked in and helped so much during this transition because it's definitely tough and they made it so much easier, especially for JJ and myself, because, you know, as a mom, it's like, what do I do? Not knowing this is on you. So, they have been a blessing to us. And even though JJ is now in school when he's 13, they still involved him and everything, and they're there for him no matter what. Just on a on a regular time. You know, they check up on Jay and make sure he's doing great. So they're amazing and we are so blessed to have them, “said Rivera. According to JJ, learning braille can be challenging. “It's really hard to learn all the contractions and all how to like type with your fingers and how to read properly. It's been a hard journey, “said Malonado. When JJ grows up, he wants to be a rapper. Listen to the podcast link to her his performance. There is no deadline for letter submission this holiday season. For those looking to send their letters to Santa in braille, letters can be addressed: Santa’s Attention, VisionCorps (Erika Rothermel, head elf) 244 N. Curious about how using Virtual reality (VR) could help you with prevention, assessment and treatment of your neuro patients? VR and AR (augmented reality) is emerging as a powerful tool in the world of neurorehabilitation, and Ramiro Maldonado, PT, DPT, a physical therapist with UprightVR, shares the research on the transformative capabilities of this technology. Ramiro highlights how the true power of a good VR system lies in its ability to drive neuroplasticity by creating immersive environments that challenge and retrain sensory systems. By manipulating visual inputs and leveraging principles of motor learning, VR tools can tap into the key principles of neuroplasticity, such as repetition, context specificity, and multimodal sensory integration. One particularly intriguing aspect is the concept of "avatar representation," where VR creates a digital clone of the patient, allowing them to witness and experience their own healthy movement patterns. This innovative approach can significantly enhance motor learning and functional recovery. Ramiro also discusses the potential of VR in balance assessment and training. By expanding on traditional sensory organization testing, VR-based assessments can provide highly accurate and standardized data, enabling clinicians to identify deficits earlier and tailor interventions accordingly. As the field of neurorehabilitation continues to evolve, the integration of virtual reality holds immense promise. By harnessing the power of this technology, clinicians can unlock new avenues for neuroplasticity-driven recovery, ultimately improving outcomes and quality of life for their patients. Better-for-you snack brand Chomps has big plans to take the convenience store space by storm. But it's being choosy about which stores it expands into. Chomps, which is best known for its high-protein meat sticks, has been around since 2012 and has been slowly expanding. Its first major retail deal was with Trader Joe's in 2016. The company was small and, at the time, most sold online. But it knew that a major wholesale partnership could take it to the next level. "That was a game changer for us," co-founder and co-CEO Pete Maldonado said on the Modern Retail Podcast. "I mean, literally overnight, you've got millions of new customers and people trying the product for the first time -- and it really just snowballed from there." Maldonado spoke about Chomps' growth over the years as well as its new approach to convenience stores. It recently launched in both Wawa and Sheetz and is figuring out how best to showcase its products to those shoppers. Currently, its products are available in over 20,000 retail doors. "We just want to make sure that when customers see it -- especially in a new channel -- they can see it and, within two seconds, they understand what it is," he said. A lot of that requires smart packaging as well as in-store displays that explain Chomps' products. While C-stores are now a big focus, Maldonado said that product isn't perfect for every type of store. "We're a premium product," he said. "It's got to be an area where people actually understand the value proposition and are willing to pay for it."
