La Tertulia de los Miércoles con Leonardo Costa, Pablo Díaz, Juan Erosa y Teresa Herrera. *** El Poder Ejecutivo declaró el lunes una alerta pública de nivel rojo y alcance nacional, ante las bajas temperaturas registradas en el país. La medida, que se basa en la ley de creación del Sistema Nacional de Emergencias (Sinae), permite la evacuación obligatoria de personas en situación de calle, pero no afecta la movilidad general ni las actividades educativas o laborales. En la primera noche bajo alerta, se trasladó a 488 personas hacia refugios y centros de evacuación. En algunos casos hubo resistencia: la Policía debió intervenir en seis situaciones por desacato, y en Maldonado —ante la saturación de los refugios— doce personas pasaron la noche en comisarías. En una conferencia de prensa realizada en la tarde del martes, el director del Sinae, Leandro Palomeque, adelantó que la alerta se mantendrá por algunos días más. “La alerta se va a mantener y hacemos una evaluación diaria de la situación. Los informes de Inumet, si bien indican una mejora temporaria, prevén un desmejoramiento de las condiciones climáticas hacia el fin de semana. Por el momento, hemos decidido mantener la alerta por unos días más”. Por su parte, el ministro de Desarrollo Social, Gonzalo Civila, destacó en rueda de prensa que el lunes se alcanzó a tener 2.500 personas “dentro del sistema”, lo que implica “sumarles más o menos 400” a las que se estaba logrando incorporar todos los días con los sistemas exclusivos del Mides. Más temprano, consultado en rueda de prensa durante una recorrida por Maldonado, el presidente Yamandú Orsi defendió la decisión del gobierno de retirar por la fuerza a personas en situación de calle ante las bajas temperaturas.
