Have you ever been told that you're not for everyone even though your heart is truly FOR everyone? What did that do to you emotionally? Psychologically? Did it break you? Did you try to change yourself to fit the mold other needed you to fit into? How did that effect how you pursued what God called you to? Join us at the Table as Melissa and Amanda discuss how they were told they weren't for everyone, but their heart was for everyone! If you enjoyed this episode, please help us share it more with other women just like you by leaving us a rating!

If you enjoyed this episode, please help us share it more with other women just like you by leaving us a rating!
Name something that people base their entire personality around...serving at church! We should know, because we did it for over a decade! Serving in churches is down across the country and there are several thoughts on why. In this episode, Melissa and Amanda discuss the difference between why people aren't wanting to serve and what the church's perception of why they aren't serving is, as well as how to recognize the red flags of toxic serving and avoid getting caught in the trap! Most of us have heard the story of the Prodigal Son in the Bible. A son runs off with his inheritance and squanders it. He returns with his tail between his legs, prepared to be a servant in his father's house. Instead of being met with disappointment, his father greets him with celebration and throws a party in his honor because he is so happy his son has returned home. This is a beauitful picture of forgiveness and grace. But what happened after the party? Did this family move forward in a healthy way or did they fall back into their toxicity? In this episode at the Table, Melissa and Amanda discuss what happens when the party's over and how to acknowledge red flags of toxicity without falling back into them. If you enjoyed this episode, please help us share it more with other women just like you by leaving us a rating!

We have to reckon with the toxicity, pain, lies and mistakes of our past so we can move forward in healing with God! In this episode, Melissa and Amanda discuss how they have had to reckon with different aspects of their deconstruction process and what scripture has to say about avenging and pushing past your past!
Far too often we put a timeline on a person's relationship with God. You must pass go, you must collect your cross to proceed down gumdrop lane to salvation. That just isn't how faith works. There is a process to healing from past hurts, assumptions and trauma and you can't skip steps to make the healing happen faster. Join Melissa and Amanda in this episode as they discuss Going Through The Process!
Too often, we expect problems to be resolved the way they are in a feel good sitcom; wrapped up in a nice, neat bow in one half hour episode (maybe a two part "to be continued" if it is a really big problem!) Join Melissa and Amanda at the Table as they discuss why we feel we need to put a timeline on our healing and reconciliation and this mindset we are calling "TV Syndrome."
In the 5th episode of the season, Melissa and Amanda talk about the idea of faking it until you make it. This seems like good advice right? You have confidence in yourself and eventually your skills will catch up. But in a church culture where pastors are self taught everything they're passing on and saying it is from God, and where people are told to confess their sins but then judged for those sins, is this really the best policy? How can you move past this and not loose your authenticity?
In the 4th episode of the season, Melissa and Amanda discuss the mix tapes of junk that we allow to play over and over again in our minds. Maybe you have a hurt from your childhood or maybe it is something someone said to you last week, but we allow those things to record on our brains like a 90's mix tape and we play them on a loop. How can we re-record those things and focus on the truth of who God says that we are?
In this episode, Melissa and Amanda discuss how your experiences in life can influence your perspective and how your specific perspective can have the protentional to distort how you view scripture and obedience to God. Be challenged to ask yourself why are you so passionate about the things that you are and are you humble enough to try to view things from a different perspective?

What causes someone to deconstruct from the church or from their faith all together? Narcissism, spiritual abuse and gaslighting are all things that can lead to someone wanting to walk away. In this episode, Melissa and Amanda discuss these toxic traits and how experiencing these things could cause someone to walk away.
When there are cracks in the church and you are the one who gets shattered. The phrase deconstruction is becoming more and more prevalent and as Christians, we need to take a realistic look at why. In this episode, Melissa and Amanda discuss the meaning of the word deconstruction, what lead to their deconstruction and how they reached a point of "but God..."
Life is hard sometimes and we all have those moments where the rubber meets the road and we have to wrestle with where God is in the midst of our struggles. Join Melissa and Amanda for a raw discussion of their rubber meets the road moments and how to join God - not only as you struggle, but also how to support someone who is struggling.
"Crucify him! Crucify him!" The crowd that surrounded Pilate that day had to choose a prisoner to set free. The crowd chose Barabbas - a criminal. When it came to Jesus, however, they demanded death. Join Melissa Weber and Amanda Turnbull at the table as they discuss the historical context behind this Gospel passage and how to apply it to our walks today.
In a world that is filled with us vs. them, Karens and a desire to appear as though we have it all together, it is very easy to get caught up in being "right." But how often do we think if our behavior is righteous. We confuse self-righteousness with being right with God. Join Melissa and Amanda at the table as they dive into the topic of Right vs. Righteous.
When life is hard or your world is falling apart, it take gritty faith to make it through. Faith that is confident that God has a plan, faith that is willing to express honest vulnerability and faith that is steadfast in truth. That is gritty faith. Finding a balance in all of it can be hard though - you can't be a hardened person pretending nothing bothers you, but you also can't live in a sobbing pile of depression. Join Melissa and Amanda on this episode as they discuss how to have true Gritty Faith!
Too often we lose site of our relationship with Christ because we're trying to check the boxes of "being a good Christian." In this month's episode, Melissa and Amanda dive into a discussion of the pitfalls that come with religion, how their own upbringing has shaped their relationship with Christ now and how to avoid a religious lifestyle.
In our Season 2 premier, join Melissa, Areena and Amanda as they discuss the concept of being ME-centric and how we can use scripture to help battle our selfishness.

2020 was a doosey and it is easy to just give up and wait it out. It is easy to just give up any time we have a difficult situation we have to face....or avoid...or ignore...or complain. But what does God have to say about that? Join Melissa Weber, Areena Simonetti and Amanda Turnbull as they discuss finishing strong! Learn more about our podcast at ComeToTheTablePodcast.com
