Als Jezus zijn leerlingen tussen wolven stuurt, waarschuwt hij voor de gevaren die hen te wachten staan. Toch belooft hij hen bij te staan met de juiste woorden en onvoorwaardelijke steun. Welke risico's neem jij om over je geloof te vertellen?

Stel je voor dat je op een reis gaat, zonder koffers, geld of extra kleren, maar met vertrouwen in God. Dat is precies waar Jezus zijn twaalf leerlingen voor oproept in hun bijzondere 'stage'. Wie gun jij het goede nieuws over Gods nieuwe wereld?

Wie gun jij een nieuwe kans? In "Geloof dat redt" ontdekken we hoe Jezus iedereen, van een jong meisje tot een oude vrouw en een stomme man, ziet en geneest. Voor Hem is niemand te min, en iedere ziel telt.

Waarom is het zo moeilijk om echt te vertrouwen, zelfs als Jezus zo dichtbij is? In "Storm op zee, rust in Jezus" verkennen we de momenten van klein geloof te midden van grote wonderen. Wanneer werd jij persoonlijk geraakt door Gods aanwezigheid?

In de Bijbel wordt er over verschillende vormen van liefde gesproken. Zo betekent het Griekse woord "phileo" bijvoorbeeld vriendschap of genegenheid. Dan is er "eros" of de hartstochtelijke gevoelens voor een geliefde. Er is echter nog een derde - hogere vorm van liefde. "Agape" is de liefde van God voor zijn Zoon en voor de hele mensheid. Het is een liefde die opoffert en prijsgeeft.... het is de liefde die wij terugvinden in Johannes 3:16: Want God had de wereld zo lief dat hij zijn enige Zoon heeft gegeven…(NBV). Er zijn zo veel Bijbelverzen die over dit onderwerp gaan; dit is werkelijk iets waarvoor je de tijd zou moeten nemen om te bestuderen. Een andere Bijbeltekst die ons leert over de betekenis van Agape liefde staat in Matteüs 5:44. Deze vertelt ons onze vijanden lief te hebben en te bidden voor hen die ons vervolgen. Het is niet moeilijk om voor mensen te bidden die goed voor ons zijn, maar het kost jezelf iets om voor iemand te bidden die je verwondt heeft. Het is gemakkelijker om samen te zijn met bijvoorbeeld vrienden uit je kerk. Maar het is kost meer moeite om iemand op te zoeken die alleen en ongelukkig is en naar hem of haar te willen luisteren. Dat is Agape liefde… je geeft je eigen gemak op om iets te doen wat juist is. Je kunt Agape liefde tonen door geduldig te zijn met mensen, begrip te tonen, iets bemoedigends te zeggen of soms juist iets niet te zeggen als je dat wel had gekund. Als mensen zijn we zelfzuchtig van aard en vragen ons continue af: "En ik dan?". Het is tijd om zelfzucht de oorlog te verklaren met Agape liefde. Het is tijd om doelbewust goed en liefdevol voor mensen te zijn, terwijl we leren en begrijpen wat de Bijbel ons vertelt over liefde. Laat Gods Agape liefde in jou overstromen naar anderen.

Sta je stil bij wat het echt betekent om Jezus te volgen? Na indrukwekkende wonderen willen velen Hem achterna, maar Jezus waarschuwt: zelfs de Mensenzoon heeft geen vaste rustplaats. Wil jij graag bij Jezus horen? Of vind je dat moeilijk? Waarom?
