10 ideas for conviction and biz-ness output. Here we cover part two.
Ten ideas to build more 'conviction'. Conviction is at the heart of any story. These ten ideas are from mentors, business leaders, and a little from my own experience. This is part one of two.
We can have technique, form, strategy and tactics, but if we can't bring the 'fire' then over time, our work is often ignored.

What do you do when someone copies your offer or business idea? Obviously there can be cases where you might have a copyright avenue. But often with online business, or smaller offers, people will see an idea, tweak a few things, and then put it out there and there's not a lot you can do. As markets get more saturated, this will probably happen to you more and more, so here's one way to think about differentiating yourself.
In this episode I talk with Mark Warman from Barnfield Customs. We cover brand, story and world building. Mark Warman was the founder and owner of a digital marketing agency, then created Barnfield Customs - Limited edition men's jackets. The 'Lawrence Jacket' - Mark's first product, sold out in 36 hours. You can connect with Mark on instagram: https://www.instagram.com/barnfieldcustoms/?hl=en Website: https://www.barnfieldcustoms.com
As markets get more saturated, how we show up matters if we want to cut through. In this episode we look at three ways to stand out in saturated markets: Choosing to be specific over general Owning a consistent business story (and not flip flopping around) Amplifying personality and imagination

'The New Game' is part of a story driven business framework. This helps you set up your business as a 'zag' away from what everyone else is doing, and help your clients win as their world changes around them. This positions you as an evangelist, or leader for a specific 'change'. You create a business we want to be a part of. In this conversation, Amy Bowe (Warrior School) and I go through a few steps of this framework, to see how it could fit with her current business.
Every time you face something new, you face the Resistance. This is because when we do something new, we take on emotional risk. What if it doesn't work. What if people look at us. Whatever it is. We are removing a mask in front of everyone. But this is essential if we want to see more success. We also cover a little about the next live event.
In a lot of businesses, there's a level of 'intangibility' to the offer. And even with some products, what they're really selling, is an intangible feeling. Here we look at a couple of examples of how to make the intangible more 'tangible', through the power of stories.
We talk about imagination, visualisation, and Keith Johnstone, who was the creator of Theatresports and a leading teacher of improvisation. As a business owner and creator, you live your life one foot in the present, and one foot in the future, meaning visualisation is key for success.
In this episode, John shares three things that will help improve your relationship with social media so rather that it controlling you, you maintain the sovereignty. If you're someone that finds marketing challenging this could be just the mindset shift you needed.
We have a live event coming up, and I talk about getting clear on the 'one thing' that the event is about. Clarity can be a big road block in small business, and one of the reasons we struggle, is clarity makes us accountable. It puts us on the hook. But when we can cut out all the 'extras' we can test ideas, and see the real results.

Then we look at what this may mean for business and marketing. We also cover the key skills that may be even more important going forward than they are already. The future may be different, but the future is bright.
The root of the word 'motivate' is "to stimulate toward action, act as the inciting cause of". When we look at story structure, the 'inciting incident' is the event that kicks off the story. And prior to that, the character's life sits in balance. What we see then, when we're trying to move from the spectator to the doer, is where trying to kick off a new story. There needs to be a reason, or vision that drives the doing, which stems from an inciting incident. Turns out, successful business owners are very good at the process. And constantly seek out new events that start a new chapter.

If you're doing some social media marketing for your service business, you might be feeling like you want to give more value, and take your audience deeper. This is where long form content is great. Podcasts and articles are both great ways to share deeper insights with your people, connect them into your world, and build massive trust. In this episode we look at the showdown between articles and podcasts.
Most marketing approaches start by talking about the problem that the client faces. This can work, but if your industry is crowded, you can start to get drowned out. In this episode, we talk about the power of 'change' in marketing, and how it can drive attention. If your message is flat, this can help you bring in the energy you need to cut through.

As you grow your business, it doesn't always get harder. In many cases, it gets easier. Not because the work decreases, but because you learn to deal with greater amounts of stress. A lot of people focus on mindfulness, or letting difficult or stressful situations 'pass.' But in business we have to take the right action to deal with situations properly. When we do this, we adapt to the stress, and we are stronger.

When you build a rhythm with your marketing, you will then have a 'system.' Of course this helps with momentum, but can also be a strong signal of trust and magnetism in itself. For more on this, see the article on the Creator Club website: https://www.creatorclub.link/new-articles/marketing-rhythm

We talk about getting started, marketing, storytelling, and bringing your values into your work.
You want to grow your business. And you know that you can. But you keep hitting a mental plateau and end up back into the loop of distraction. For most people, this isn't because they don't know what to do (there's a lot of info out there). But there's a lack of urgency. Things are comfortable. Growth isn't necessary. Here we talk about how to create a 'back against the wall' strategy to stop wasting time, get stuck into action and enjoy the process of working on your business. Check out the full article here.
