Some of us like to speak grand about the future we envision for ourselves and our business. Sure, there's a place for talk. But the proportion of talk to actions needs to have the right balance. And too many people have it backwards. They're 80% talk, 20% action. Too many words. Too little deeds. It really is much easier to talk big and work small. And you get to pretend like you're hiding your lack of diligent effort behind your big words. Like a slight-of-hand magician, we try to trick ourselves and those around us to think that we're getting after it, when in reality we're not making any traction. But we're only fooling ourselves.

In this episode, we explore the concept of thinking about work on Shabbat. While Jewish law permits contemplating business matters, it's discouraged to maintain the spirit of rest and delight. We also delve into the halachic nuances of engaging non-Jews for tasks on Shabbat, the permissibility of acquiring land in Israel on Shabbat, and related rulings on transactions. Tune in for an insightful discussion on maintaining a true day of rest.

I got a job. That's right, a job where I go to a building to work for 8 hours at a time in exchange for a biweekly paycheck. And it not only feels like the right environment for me, but it's been full of surprise. Whether you've been conditioned to stick it out and progress in one career, to start your own business and become a success with a ton of clients, or to leave society altogether and run off to the woods to live off the land, you've probably wondered how to support and sustain yourself along the way. It's been a long road for me, one that is never finished as sustenance is a necessary part of surviving as a human being. The vast majority of us will require money to do so. I've read here and there that Reflectors are not here to work. This is true in the sense that we are not here to work like Generators. We're not here to work like projectors or manifestors. We're here to be initiated by whatever life brings us to, and here to be ourselves in whatever context we are correctly drawn into. My mind fought this one. Work?! A hospital?! I could never. But... I could. And I am. And I love it. Listen for more

BREATHE IN, BREATHE OUTBreathing is one of the basics of living. If we have some trouble with our health, one of the best treatments is going back to the basics, breathing. Now how does someone with no business background grow her small business? Just like breathing, go to the basics, make an offer people can't refuse, and start small in your area. These are the things Perrin White has done to grow her small business, and you will learn more about her basic yet successful strategies in this latest episode of Noob School. WISDOM FOR THE NOOBSJOHN: The secret to making big money“I'm always willing to give away a free online session just to help show people what I'm doing because it's going to come back to me if I can at least build up some awareness through offering something for free, and then get people excited about it.”DUSTIN: Be successful in sales by finding the right mentor“I work with startups, a lot of tech startups in town on how to get those first 10 customers. A mistake they typically make is they think about the whole world they think about, I've got a million potential customers, and I want to touch them all, and I'm always like, no, no, no, no, no stick within right around here. You only need 10.” Connect with Perrin and learn more about his work:LinkedIn | Instagram Connect with Noob School and John by visiting the following links:LinkedIn | Facebook | Instagram | Twitter | TikTok | Website

Welcome to the 14th Episode of my Podcast – today we'll be talking about a recent personal experience and the insight I gained via it into managing expectations from yourself. This week, we'll discuss Thought errors – something we've discussed before and how they lead to feelings which might not allow us to do the things we want to do. We'll question the entire process of “procrastination” and why we don't do things we actually want to do. What you'll learn from this Episode? 1. What happens to your Emotional Landscape when you are faced with fear, anxiety, stress or specifically changes. 2. How our Emotional Landscape affects our Business and work journey. 3. What happens to the Brain when we are moving through various transitions. 4. The most important learning here – THE ONLY DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WHAT WE WANT TO DO AND WHAT WE DON'T FEEL LIKE DOING IS THE FEELING OF DISCOMFORT. 5. Thought Errors and how they lead us on this journey of feelings which stop us from dealing with changes in the status quo. 6. You don't have to go through a healing process to change your life – sometimes a shift can just happen – an instant switch in your Nervous System. 7. TIME MANAGEMENT IS PAIN MANAGEMENT – How there are only 2 things behind some task – we want to feel a certain way or we want to stop feeling a certain way; so the only work we need to do for Time Management is manage the Pain we get from this transition. 8. You have to be willing to feel the pain so that you can process the feeling and shift into a place wherein you can do the tasks you want to do. 9. How to change your relationship with time – Time doesn't exist outside our body; it exists inside our bodies – we can transform our physical reality by becoming aware of our thoughts, enquiring about them and consequently changing them. 10. How in ATEPS – massive results and contributions are being created by people willing to feel the pain as in this Program, we build capacity inside our Body and Nervous System to do things consistently and get the results you want from your Work / Business. We also talk about the Book – “Indistractable” by Nir Eyal, the author of “Hooked – How to build Habit forming Products” and how the Chapter “Time Management is Pain Management” influenced my thoughts this week. And we discuss how Lauren Cash's Podcast inspired me to make Result Based Lists for the work I want to do instead of “To-Do” Lists which are Task Based. In ATEPS, you will learn much more about this and we have an entire Module on Nervous System Support for all of you. It's not just a Series of Audios and Videos but also a part of our Live Coaching Calls. So, stay tuned and go on a ride with us on this wild journey of inner work to make ALL the money you want, the way YOU want to. David Fajgenbaum, MD, MBA, MSc, is the co-founder and Executive Director of the Castleman Disease Collaborative Network (CDCN) and one of the youngest individuals to be appointed to the faculty at the University of Pennsylvania. An NIH-funded physician-scientist, he has dedicated his life to discovering new treatments and cures for deadly disorders like idiopathic multicentric Castleman disease (iMCD), which he was diagnosed with during medical school. After spending months hospitalized in critical condition, having his last rites read, and having four deadly relapses, he is now in his longest remission ever thanks to a treatment that he identified in the lab. He is in the top 1 percent youngest grant awardees of an NIH R01, one of the most competitive and sought-after grants in all of biomedical research. Fajgenbaum is also applying business-inspired solutions to drive forward iMCD research and working to turn this innovative model into a blueprint for accelerating rare disease research and drug repurposing. Fajgenbaum recently described his journey and lessons learned in his memoir, Chasing My Cure: A Doctor's Race to Turn Hope Into Action, which became a New York Times bestseller.

On this episode of the Digital Jamaica Podcast I had an illuminating conversation with David Palmer, Blockchain Lead for IoT at Vodafone Business a British based multinational telecommunications company. David and I connected on LinkedIn because of our shared interest in preparing young Jamaicans for the Future of Work. David firmly believes that there are a lot of opportunities in the web 3 space that can bring social mobility, career opportunities and wider productivity to young Jamaicans. David wants to expand our imagination as to what the future of work can look like, it's not just about being employable, but thinks that young people should not have to be dependent on fan employer but rather by harnessing the potential of web3 technologies like blockchain, NFTs and the emerging metaverse young professionals can create opportunities for themselves. Enterprising young people in Jamaica with innovative business ideas can collaborate globally by forming digital identities, virtual bank accounts and pooling wallets to create a virtual business and bank account which can be used for one or more business transactions. This is just one of the ways David feels web 3 technologies can be used for good.
