While becoming an educator wasn't initially in my plans, once I was blessed with the opportunity to step into this role, I didn't hesitate with drawing inspiration from this amazing woman. From a young child, all the way to today, what Mrs. Sumner has instilled in me, pours out into how I interact with my students every single day. Who she is as an educator, a role model, the relationships she builds, the level comfort and safe spaces she creates, is everything I try to emulate daily. From as young as I could remember, I've always told people I have two big sisters. While Michelle and her sister aren't related to me by blood, the relationship that I have built with them and their family makes me feel as close to them as anything.
