Over in Euro Group C, England was frustrated despite topping the group, while Denmark and Slovenia advanced with two goalless draws. The teams that advanced in Group D came down to the last minute with 7 goals in two matches. Austria ultimately took the top spot over France, and Serbia missed the knockout round. The Celtics are officially up 3-0 in the Finals and history tells us that this victory is more than likely the nail in the coffin. While Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown both put up similarly heroic numbers, we can't help but marvel at how tactically JB made it happen. The Mavs did have a late-game run fueled by great team synergy but they just couldn't take it to the finish line. Did Jason Kidd's timeout sabotage their momentum? Are Luka's defensive deficiencies the culprit? We discuss our takeaways and the rarified air that this potential sweep places this year's Celtics in. Stick around for Hot Streak/Shooting Slump!

(00:00-20:34) Instant reactions from a fiasco of a loss with Amy Fadool. Bob recognizes the officials could have been better, but the loss falls on the Sixers for a myriad of late game errors. (20:48-33:31) Bob breaks down X's and O's of the game and finds some positivity in terms of Embiid's health. All-in-all, the Sixers made a lot of good adjustments aside from the final minute. The Braves were down to their final strike in Miami, but Marcell Ozuna crushed a 3 run homer and Atlanta escaped with a 9-7 victory. David & Eric extensively discuss how great Ozuna has been not only this season, but ever since May 1st of last year. Ozuna currently leads the NL with a 1.193 OPS and collected seven hits over the weekend. (17:30) Ronald Acuña Jr. meanwhile is off to a slow start and his OPS sits at .712, but the MVP had at least one hit in every game this series. Even though Acuña isn't his normal self, the team's offense is still coming through with plenty of production. (21:00) The Marlins beat the Braves on Saturday 5-1 as Max Meyer out pitched Chris Sale. Meyer struck out seven Braves and only allowed one run. The series began with Max Fried's first impressive outing of the year in Atlanta's 8-1 victory as Fried pitched into the 7th inning. It was internal brace surgery instead of Tommy John, and David explains what the difference is between the procedures. (45:30) Dave Lezotte, Voice of the Gwinett Stripes, provides an update from AAA. Locked On Celtics - Daily Podcast On The Boston Celtics With Rainin' J's
There has been a lot of conversation about the Celtics after their loss to the Hawks Monday night, but most of it is still missing the point, focusing more on the collapse than the real issue of late-game execution. John Karalis of Boston Sports Journal and Tom Westerholm discuss what went right and wrong, and why Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown needed to be better at recognizing what was needed. Plus, Jrue Holiday was on Draymond Green's podcast talking about Boston's mentality, Brown & Tatum handling the pressure, and Joe Mazzulla making him see defense differently.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!Amazon Fire TVFire TV recently created Fire TV Channels to deliver a constant supply of the latest videos from your favorite sports brands, all for free. Locked On Celtics - Daily Podcast On The Boston Celtics With Rainin' J's
We open up the mailbag once again to answer questions about whether Joe Mazzulla sacrificed wins for lessons this past week, Jaylen Brown's free throw shooting, playing through Brown down the stretch, and why criticism for Brown is the same as criticism for Jayson Tatum and vice versa. John Karalis of Boston Sports Journal gets into all of that, plus a TNT curse, postseason awards, getting certain refs to retire, and team superheroes. The late-game execution discourse continues with a closer look at the end of the Cleveland Cavaliers loss and why the Celtics don't go to Kristaps Porzingis more often in those situations. John Karalis of Boston Sports Journal and Tom Westerholm discuss the teachable moment for the Celtics, getting Porzingis (and others) more involved, and wonder if the lack of progress here is any kind of long-play to avoid tipping a hand for the playoffs.
