John Darkow - PoliticalCartoons.com On this week's show... The federal government shutdown is over for now, but the debate on healthcare rages on. Michigan Democrats, led by Senators Peters and Slotkin, have harsh words for the 7 Democrats who voted with Republicans to end the 41-day shutdown without any guaranteed continuation of healthcare insurance subsidies. The Republican bill includes a potential onetime $500,000 or more bonus for 8 Senators investigated as part of the January 6 insurrection (Lindsey Graham says he'll sue for millions!) The White House calls the newly released Epstein emails part of a Democratic Party hoax – that there's nothing there – but Trump is doing all he can to keep the files secret, and redirect the story to investigations of retirees like Bill Clinton and Larry Summers. The U.S. House will vote on a full release of all the files in early December. Donald Trump basically admits widespread law-breaking by his reelection team, issuing federal pardons to 71 of his minions – even though they haven't been federally charged. And the pardons don't save folks like Giuliani and Meadows from possible state criminal charges. The looming increases in health insurance premiums has convinced four companies to pull out of the Michigan market. Former Congressman Mike Rogers thought he had a free ride to the GOP nomination for U.S. Senator, but there's a new candidate who could make the next 9 months a lot more difficult for him. Former Michigan Republican Party co-chair Bernadette Smith starts with more than a little support from the party's MAGA base. Rogers is now saying the 2024 election was stolen from him but providing no proof. And there's the story of two presidential grandkids extending family traditions: JFK's grandson, Jack Schlossberg, extends the family tradition by running for Congress in New York … in a district that includes Trump Tower. Donald Trump's granddaughter, Kai, is extending a different family tradition: she's playing golf, making her LPGA debut as an invited golfer in the LPGA Annika Tournament. Sadly, after the 2nd round she was dead last (18 over par) and missed the cut

“This little girl refused to give up”-What happened on February 20th, 2016 would haunt the citizens of Kalamazoo, Michigan forever. It's after 10 pm, outside a Cracker Barrel, when 14 year old Abigail Kopf & her friends are getting ready to head home, until an unknown man approaches them with a gun. Earlier in the day, 911 received a call about someone driving a silver Uber, who had attacked 25-year-old mother Tiana Carruthers as she shielded a group of neighbourhood children — now, he's chosen Abbie as his next target. The only hope for justice for the citizens of Kalamazoo, rests on the shoulders of whoever can survive him – and take him down before he hurts anyone else. It's happening as Michigan's already experienced 25 tornadoes this year, and when tornadoes are increasing across the country thanks to climate change. Why is Elon gutting an essential service that helps warn people of incoming threatening storms, and when climate change is hitting every part of the country? Robbi Mecus, a New York State Forest Ranger, was a significant figure in the queer climbing community. Before her death in a climbing accident in Alaska in April 2024, she actively fostered a welcoming and inclusive environment for LGBTQ+ individuals in the sport. Robbi co-founded the Adirondack Queer Ice Fest in 2022, an annual event that created a dedicated space for queer and transgender people to connect and enjoy ice climbing. This festival aimed to reduce the isolation often experienced by queer and trans climbers. As an out transgender woman who came out in her mid-40s while working as a Forest Ranger, Robbi became a visible and inspiring role model. She demonstrated that it was possible to pursue demanding outdoor professions and passions while living authentically. Her visibility helped challenge societal norms and provided an example for others who may not have seen representation in the climbing and outdoor communities. Mecus also used her public platform as a Forest Ranger to advocate for LGBTQ+ inclusion. She was involved in organizing pride events and was outspoken about her identity. Her efforts extended to her work within the Department of Environmental Conservation, where she was recognized for advancing diversity and LGBTQ+ belonging. Through her actions and initiatives, Robbi Mecus had a profound impact on the queer climbing community, creating spaces, fostering inclusivity, and serving as an inspiring figure for many. Her legacy continues to be honored within the climbing and LGBTQ+ communities.Listen now to hear about Robbi final adventure, and the impact she had on the queer community around her. The state will soon start competitive bidding on approximately 420 acres of forested land near Gaylord, Michigan, to clear space for a solar farm while generating revenue and advancing the state's long-term green energy targets, Notably, one study published by Harvard researchers found that clearing forests to replace with solar panel developments may actually lead to an overall increase in greenhouse gas emissions, and a paper published by Chinese researchers also reached similar conclusions. There are also oil and gas wellheads in other areas of the woods that remain forested, according to MLive. “This is pretty amazing. Michigan is not like California, it's not like the sun is always shining there,” Dan Kish, a senior research fellow at the Institute for Energy Research, told the Daily Caller News Foundation. “This is the theater of the absurd, and it's all driven by tax credits and giveaways from the federal and state government, and by mandates that the governor there has implemented.” Source: dailycaller.com The Stunning Statistical Fraud Behind The Global Warming Scare Global Warming: The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration may have a boring name, but it has a very important job: It measures U.S. temperatures. Unfortunately, it seems to be a captive of the global warming religion. Its data are fraudulent What do we mean by fraudulent? How about this: NOAA has made repeated "adjustments" to its data, for the presumed scientific reason of making the data sets more accurate. Nothing wrong with that. Except, all their changes point to one thing — lowering previously measured temperatures to show cooler weather in the past, and raising more recent temperatures to show warming in the recent present. This creates a data illusion of ever-rising temperatures to match the increase in CO2 in the Earth's atmosphere since the mid-1800s, which global warming advocates say is a cause-and-effect relationship. The more CO2, the more warming. But the actual measured temperature record shows something different: There have been hot years and hot decades since the turn of the last century, and colder years and colder decades. But the overall measured temperature shows no clear trend over the last century, at least not one that suggests runaway warming. That is, until the NOAA's statisticians "adjust" the data. Using complex statistical models, they change the data to reflect not reality, but their underlying theories of global warming. That's clear from a simple fact of statistics: Data generate random errors,
