Paul'sletter to the Romans is his greatest. It is one of the most powerful documentsever written. Of all the New Testament letters, Romans is the broadest in scopeand deepest in insight. The book of Romans has affected and transformed manylives over the ages. Testimonieson the Impact of the Book of Romans:i. SaintAugustine of Hippoii. MartinLutheriii. JohnBunyaniv. JohnWesleyTheCentral Theme of the book of Romans, many say, is the “The Righteousness ofGod,” and some say it is “From Guilt to Glory”. Perhaps they aredifferent ways of saying the same thing. What is obvious is that this letterdeals with how God, through Jesus Christ, has enabled human beings to movefrom:· Aplace of Condemnation and sin to a place of reconciliation andrighteousness. Inthe opening verses of the letter, Paul introduces himself to the believers inRome. Some of them must have known him personally, since he greets them in thefinal chapter, but many of them he had never met. So, in these first seventeen verses Paulseeks to link himself to his Roman readers in three ways: · HePresented his CREDENTIALS – 1:1-7· HeExpressed his CONCERN – 1:8-15· HeAffirmed his CONFIDENCE – 1:16-17.
YOUTH-LED BIBLE STUDY WRAP UP SESSION - FOURSQUARE VGC - February 26, 2025
We will be pressured and hard-pressed on every side if we are to stay faithful to God and His Church. To stay means to make a stand, to persevere to the end, no matter how daunting the situation is. We are to stand for the Lord and His Church in this challenging time. This morning, let's address God's expectations of us and emphasize the necessities and blessings of our faithfulness to God and to His Church:
The Christian life on earth is filled with challenges and trials, so as Christians, we should expect challenges and trials; to think that we can walk through life without dealing with them is deceit. (John 16:33; James 1:2-4)The Bible warns us that our faith will be tried and tested, but standing in faith gives us resounding victories. (1 John 5:4)Challenges bring about trials and the testing of our faith. Hence, the need to strengthen our faith before challenges and trials come. We shouldn't wait for challenging times before we build our spiritual armouries against them. (Ephesians 6:10-18)For example, Israel as a nation had a lot of trials and political challenges, and this had taught them to continually reinforce their arsenal, strengthen their military base, and be battle-ready. It would be disastrous for them to wait until an enemy launches an attack before they take this protective measure. Likewise, a Christian should build a solid spiritual base or strength before challenging times. To help us understand our topic of study, we will do a definition of some important words in the study.• What is faith?• What is the meaning of challenges?• What does it mean to strengthen our faith in challenging times?• Discipline and Spiritual discipline
Faith is a vital pillar of the Christian life; it anchors believers in their relationship with God. Hebrews 11:1 defines faith as "the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." This verse is a foundational truth that sets the stage for trusting God, regardless of the uncertainties around us. In today's world, challenges abound - economic crises, societal pressures, rising moral decadence, and the distraction of technological advancements. These hurdles test the depth of our faith. Yet, God calls His people to live by faith, saying, "The just shall live by faith." (Habakkuk 2:4). Faith is not just an occasional response to life's challenges but a lifestyle that defines our walk with God
NATURE OF THE COMING CHALLENGING TIMES (Matthew 24:3-14)1. There shall be famine, pestilences and earthquakes in diverse places.2. Evil men will wax strong in their satanic activities.3. There will be apostasies, betrayals, hatred among religious people.4. The number and activities of false Prophets will be on the increase and of course they will deceive many people.5. Believers will be hated, persecuted, afflicted and killed for Jesus' sake.6. Sinners will be increasing in their sinfulness, while many saints will become cold.7. Some believers who were once on fire for the Lord are fast becoming lukewarm as a result of dying fire.
The faith that transforms nations is cultivated daily and demonstrated by reaching out to sinners, being generous to the poor, and adding value to our communities and the world. These are the practical ways to transform nations for Christ.Challenge: What will you do to impact (transform nations for Christ) your community by faith?
The faith that transforms nations must be cultivated daily and demonstrated by reaching out to sinners, being generous to the poor, and adding value to our communities and the world. These are the practical ways to transform nations for Christ. Think and pray about what you can contribute to your community, and trust God to use you to bring souls to Jesus this week.
Bible Study Wrap up - Pst Okien Peters ( Wednesday 29th, 2025)
Today the enemies of the church of Jesus Christ are not political or national or ethnic. Paul said, “We do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” (Ephesians 6:12) Until our King comes from heaven, we wish for the destruction of no man. As Christians we do not kill our enemies, we pray for our enemies, as Jesus taught us to do. (Matthew 5:44) The great battle today is fought not with swords, but with the gospel of Jesus Christ crucified and risen. It is fought for the souls of men. It is fought in the power of the Holy Spirit. It is fought with words of truth and deeds of love and justice. And all of that backed by prayer. The victory will come and will come by prayer. Your declarations matter: 1 Kings 17
What is resounding victory? Resounding victory is a decisive, over-whelming and unmistakable triumph over challenges, obstacles, or adversaries. Resounding victories are often marked by: i. Recognizable changes ii. Complete dominance or success iii. Celebrations because of its magnitude and impact. Is a believer's victory a distant hope? Not at all. Romans 8:37; 1 Corinthians 15:57; John 16:33; and Philippians 4:13, tell us that the believer's victory is a present reality. It is victory we are called to enjoy now. Christians are to walk in this reality through their close and daily relationship with God.
In 2025, we have the promise of Resounding Victories given through the General Overseer of Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria from 1 Corinthians 15:57 and Joshua 1:5. To realise these victories we have to prepare and win alongside God, who is always victorious. He now wills and does His good pleasure and purpose in and through us (Philippians 2:13). In preparation of this, we have learned from Wednesday certain things and we will continue in that thought of preparing ourselves for resounding victories today.

Two key points stand out for me for me from our text today. First, the overall story of the Bible, i.e. what God has been doing and will be doing in the world, can be explained from the text. This short passage shows Almighty God present and working out His purpose to save people by His power while making His willing people beneficiaries and channels of His salvation plan for the world. In a way, this is the whole story of the Bible. Secondly, Almighty God with us is present to accomplish His own purpose in the world, not ours, by His own power. He even thinks it is OK to disrupt and upset our dreams and plans to accomplish His purpose through us if we are faithful and obedient to Him. So even though Matthew 1 begins and closes with names of the people of God, it is Almighty God with them that is in charge, working out His purpose through them by His power.
The belief in the "Almighty God with Us" is a profound and reassuring idea that has had a lasting impact on my life. Through personal faith, corporate worship, experiential knowledge and spiritual guidance, I have come to appreciate the power and significance of this powerful belief, which provides me with a sense of comfort, purpose, and direction in my life's journey.
In the prior Service and Bible Study, we have discussed the privilege of God being with us, and the importance of the presence of God and some of its benefits, which include: •facing every situation of my life with courage and assurance; •not having to worry about being overcome by failure; •being spiritually successful even in difficult places of my life; and •having a source of never ending, always enduring life providing protection, provision, guidance, sonship, healing, power and the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Initially, God dwelled and fellowshipped with man and would always come in the cool of the day for fellowship with Adam and Eve (Genesis 3:8). When sin came, the Lord drove man away from His presence (Genesis 3:23-24), but looked for a way to reconcile man back unto His presence.
December has come and the Christmas season (Advent) is here. It is a time to remind ourselves again of the coming of our Lord Jesus to this world, when He took on humanity to deliver us from the bondage of sin and dwell with us. The two names of our Lord mentioned in our message text above give expression to the mission of His coming.

When all is said and done, we would be judged and rewarded for what we have done, whether good or bad: 2 Corinthians 5:10. Our motives play an integral role in determining the category into which what we have done is placed. When it comes to preaching the gospel, same applies, i.e. there are right and wrong motives in talking to others about Christ, and to be rewarded for it, our motives ought to be right. WHAT
What prayer is to us as God's children cannot be overstated in our lives. It is therefore, no surprise that prayer is mentioned many times in the Bible: Prayer comes in various forms including as petition, supplication or other similar words. It is an INDISPENSIBLE weapon in the hands of the Christian and this includes its use in enforcing God's authority on earth. (Acts 4:31-37) Very importantly. Jesus taught us how to enforce God's kingdom authority through prayer: “Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
The charge to us Christians in the two texts, is to be His witnesses. Witnesses of Christ. Essentially, a witness in this context will be someone who incarnates and tells others about his or her experience with Christ. The reference to kingdom here, is not one that is defined by a territorial land space but gaining control of the hearts of men, symbolically; the kingdom is established in the hearts of men.
