AI dream interpretation platforms are getting ever more popular. We talk today with Harry de Bont, the developer of AUT-Dream, about how best to approach these tools and why his platform is an improvement over Chat GPT. We talk about what he calls the Anthropic Universe Theory (AUT) and argues that the primary purpose of dreams is to comment on what surprises us and then to help us shift our world model to something closer to reality. We also talk about how AI relates to an emerging collective awareness, and he shares some of his hopes for future ways AI might be used to catalyze community. We take two questions from Max. He asks about how AI works which leads into a discussion of pattern recognition and the inevitable biases of AI based on the cultural profile of the data entered into it. Harry ends by encouraging us to try AI dream interpretation but cautions us to always stick up for our intuition when working with our dreams. BIO: Harry de Bont is an Electrical engineer and dream researcher who bridges psychology, physics, and consciousness studies. He developed the Anthropic Universe Theory describing dreaming as the mind's nightly realignment between body, world, and society. His work explores how emotion and intuition arise from the same patterns of balance that shape both the landscape of our dreams and the physical world. In this episode, I reflect on letter writing at boarding school — and what those censored, monitored, or ignored letters reveal about the emotional isolation many children experienced.Drawing on the writings of Nick Duffell, Jeremy Paxman, and Karen Wilson, as well as my own childhood letters from the 1980s, I explore how boarding schools conditioned children to hide their real feelings. This conversation touches on censorship, shame, and the lifelong habit of self-silencing — but also offers hope for healing and reconnection.A heartfelt invitation to reflect on your own story and the power of reclaiming your true voice.--- Piers is an author and a men's transformational coach and therapist who works mainly with trauma, boarding school issues, addictions and relationship problems. Integrative Life Coach Training for Health and Wellness Practitioners
In this episode, I'm sharing what I learned in the middle of one of my own challenging seasons: how to stay steady when everything in you wants to quit. Whether it's your business, your health, or your relationships, we all hit moments when we feel defeated, exhausted, or ready to throw in the towel. You'll learn: 1️⃣ What reactivity really is and how it secretly sabotages your success 2️⃣ The four steps to staying grounded and getting back in the game 3️⃣ How to reignite your purpose when you've lost your spark 4️⃣ Why asking for support doesn't make you weak — it keeps your fire burning 5️⃣ A simple shift to defeat the “shut down” response and take aligned action When you remember your why, expand your vision, lean on your people, and get back out there, you take your power back.

In episode #143 of An Evolving Man, I'm joined by Karen Wilson, author of Atrocious Behavior.Karen was sent to boarding school at just seven years old and expelled by ten. Her memoir captures the harsh reality of punishment, isolation, and shame — and her later discovery of healing through theatre, teaching, and reflection. We explore how trauma lives on in the body, how neglect shapes the nervous system, and what it means to reclaim compassion after early betrayal. This is a powerful conversation about survival, courage, and finding meaning beyond suffering.
What happens when a generation of children are raised to fear softness, sensitivity, and touch? In this solo reflection, I look at the unspoken culture of homophobia and repression in boarding schools — where words like “you're gay” became weapons of humiliation. Drawing from Boarding School Syndrome by Joy Schaverien, Trauma, Abandonment & Privilege by Nick Duffell, and reflections from Stephen Fry, I explore how this culture shaped our sense of identity, sexuality, and emotional expression. This conversation isn't about sexuality alone — it's about how we learned to disconnect from the lover within and how healing means bringing that energy back to life.--- Piers is an author and a men's transformational coach and therapist who works mainly with trauma, boarding school issues, addictions and relationship problems. What happens when the patterns of boarding school shape the boardroom? In this episode, I speak with Collette Easton — former CEO, executive coach, and author of Manager. Collette shares her journey from boarding school and the RAF, to building digital businesses, and now helping leaders overcome toxic patterns that hold them back.We discuss:The impact of boarding school on leadership stylesWhy some CEOs unconsciously recreate authoritarian environmentsThe difference between “managing” and leading with compassionHow psychological safety and EQ fuel business growthPractical steps to shift out of stress, defensiveness, and finger-pointingIf you've ever wondered why so many leaders struggle with empathy — or how to build healthier organizations — this conversation will give you tools, hope, and fresh perspective.
Last week, we talked about healing—the kind that doesn't just change us, but changes the world. The healing that makes us more kind, more loving, more empathetic. But here's the truth: while we're doing this sacred work, there is a battle raging around us. A relentless stream of fear, attacks, and psychological warfare designed to wear us down, to make us give up hope.So how do we stand strong in the middle of all that? How do we keep our hearts from breaking under the weight of it?Today, I have a story for you. It's not just powerful—it's one of the most powerful stories I've ever heard about finding courage, resilience, and unshakable love in the face of fear. Do boarding schools create fixed mindset thinkers or growth mindset leaders? In this episode, I explore Carol Dweck's research on Mindset and connect it with my experiences — and those of many clients — who came through the boarding school system. We unpack the core differences between fixed and growth mindsets, look at how school culture fosters one or the other, and explore practical ways to shift into growth. From Usain Bolt's relentless training to Angela Merkel's willingness to admit mistakes, we see that effort and resilience — not innate talent — drive true success.Join me as I share insights, stories, and reflections on how mindset impacts leadership, healing, and the way we live.--- Piers is an author and a men's transformational coach and therapist who works mainly with trauma, boarding school issues, addictions and relationship problems. Listen to today's podcast... You may be like me and feeling that the challenges and changes that we are currently facing are taking their toll on your energy and your mental health. We have buckled down, and hunkered down. We will never feel at ease or in control if our task list is so long that it doesn't allow for a little downtime. A lack of self-care causes more stress. Self-care during challenging times is critical. Without it, we can not be resilient. We need to give ourselves permission to do less and to focus on our needs. To take care of ourself is restorative. People who focus on self-care are happier and have more stamina to get more accomplished. Take One Action Today To Build Your #Resiliency! Here are today's Tips For Building Resiliency and Celebrating Self-Care Awareness Month: This pandemic is taking a toll on our work, our economy, our social lives, and also on our mental health. These are challenging times and now is the time to be kind to yourself. Now is the time to focus on what you can do, not what you can't do. Look for ways to engage in self-care that works for you. If you hate yoga, don't force yourself to workout in an on-line yoga class. You don't need the extra pressure, guilt, and challenge. Self-care is about focusing on your priorities and including yourself in those priorities. When you find yourself reacting negatively, remember the acronym STOP. Stop Take a couple of Deep Breaths Observe what is happening Proceed by recognizing your fears, frustrations, guilt, sadness, hunger, tiredness etc and take an appropriate action by making amends, satisfying the need, diverting, re-energizing, refocusing, or relaxing. Test out a variety of calming techniques. There is no “one-size-fits-all” approach to relaxation, meditation, or mindfulness. Taking a mini-break will remind you that you're worth it. Make a list of 10 self-care activities that resonate with you. Try to take at least one mini-break a day where you incorporate a self-care activity from your list. Since the UN was created eight decades ago in the wake of a catastrophic World War, real progress has been made on freedom and equality and justice. But that's not much comfort to those living in conflict zones today worldwide, where accountability is scarce and impunity is rife.UN News's Conor Lennon caught up with the UN's High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk on Wednesday who's in New York for high-level week and began by asking him what can really be done to rein in the abusers, beyond naming and shaming them.
Samantha Rux from OSF HealthCare joined Wake Up Tri-Counties to thank the Kewanee Police, Kewanee Fire, and the Henry County Office of Emergency Management for their participation in the first full-scale drill at OSF Saint Luke on Friday. In honor of National Farm Safety and Health Week, Sam talked about free access to Silver Cloud from OSF HealthCare. Residents in OSF HealthCare-served areas now have free access to SilverCloud, an online mental health platform designed to help adults manage depression, anxiety, and stress. SilverCloud offers up to seven interactive modules featuring mindfulness exercises, journaling, and lifestyle tracking, accessible by phone, tablet, or computer. Programs are tailored for specific needs, including stress reduction, anxiety management, and addressing depression or the combination of depression and anxiety. In response to the ongoing pandemic, a special “Challenging Times” program supports those facing COVID-19-related emotional struggles. Enrollment is open to anyone 18 or older; simply register and request a program online. As fall draws near, health officials are reminding the public that timely vaccinations are key to preventing illness. Families should arrange vaccine appointments for their children, as school-based flu clinics in Kewanee will not be held this year. Adults are also encouraged to keep current with vaccines such as the flu, COVID-19, RSV, and others like hepatitis B and shingles. These shots offer vital protection, especially for older adults, pregnant women, and those with underlying health issues. Talk to your provider about updating immunizations to keep yourself and your community healthy. The flu vaccine is available at OSF Medical Centers, so make an appointment by calling your medical provider or through the OSF MyHealth App. Find more information about seasonal vaccines here. Patients using OSF HealthCare now have a new tool for managing their medical needs. The My OSF app combines a range of resources, enabling easy access to locations, appointment scheduling, bill payment, and OSF MyChart records, all from a single device. Designed to streamline the health care journey, the platform places essential information just a tap away, aiming to simplify routine tasks like checking test results or planning upcoming visits. The My OSF app is available for download, offering a more efficient, user-friendly way for patients to stay connected to their health care providers and services.

Times are challenging for the global honey sector. Oversupply, inflated prices, and global volatility continue to drive sector woes. Apiculture NZ CEO Karin Kos told Mike Hosking both domestic and export factors are contributing. In 2019, New Zealand had a record 1 million hives and 10,000 beekeepers, but now there's under 500,000 hives and 7,600 beekeepers, she says. At the same time, Kos told Hosking, there was softening global demand post-Covid, particularly in some of our largest markets. LISTEN ABOVE See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

This year at the All Things Sustainable podcast, we've heard from many professionals who are uncertain about the future of climate action and sustainability and what's ahead for their careers. We've also heard from numerous companies that continue to pursue their sustainability strategies and climate targets, even as some are talking about this less in public or changing the language they use to describe their efforts. In today's episode, we're asking: How are sustainability professionals weathering the storm? We speak to three guests on the sidelines of an event the UN Global Compact Mexico hosted in June: We talk with Jill Dumain, founding partner at the corporate sustainability consultancy Fractal CSOs and former Director of Global Environmental Strategy at outdoor clothing and gear company Patagonia. She says the current headwinds are a temporary setback. "It's very easy for all of us to be myopic around this moment in time: ‘The sky is falling in. Everything is against us,'" Jill says. "But in the grand scheme of things over an arc of 15 or 20 years, this is a little bump in the road." We sit down with Simon Mainwaring, Founder and CEO of strategic brand consultancy We First, who explains why the current moment presents an opportunity. “We got out over our skis a little bit in terms of acronyms and making it a little bit wonkish and heady, and that not only alienated a lot of people ... it set ourselves up to be politicized in a way that didn't really serve the intent behind this work,” Simon tells us. "As a result, we're being forced to walk back some of that wonkish language and reframe our language to reach back and take people with us.” And we hear from Christopher Lilholm, Global Head of ESG and Sustainability Services at DNV, an assurance and risk management firm. Close to a time when there will be no more survivors to speak about their suffering, this innovative study takes much-needed stock of the past, present and future of Holocaust testimony. Drawing from a vast range of witness accounts including a never-before-published survivor interview and carefully situating analysis within broader historical and political discourses, this international team of scholars address many pertinent issues of testimony in the post-witness age. These include: questions of representation and testimony form; memory politics and the role of the witness; the legacy of the Holocaust and impact on future generations; the digital turn and issues of access; and gender and testimony in the wake of #MeToo. Stressing the importance of re-assessing, re-contextualizing, and re-presenting testimonies, these essays make a powerful case for the ongoing centrality of witnesses and witnessing in Holocaust research, education and memory. In doing so, Holocaust Testimonies skillfully paves the way for future research with survivor testimonies. Learn more about your ad choices. Saccanama explores the First Noble Truth of dukkha or unsatisfactoriness. Through looking at incidents from the life of the Buddha, he explores not just the individual aspect of dukkha but also the collective or social aspects of dukkha which are often overlooked or downplayed in Buddhist tradition. He also explores the traditional descriptions of dukkha before going on to examine what Joanna Macy calls apathy or our disconnection from the world. Through emphasising the collective and social aspects of dukkha, we have a motive for practice that doesn't buy into the danger of individualism. Personal branding is vital for how highly sensitives show up in business and leadership. When approached through the lens of your Core Value Offer (CVO)—a teaching I also discuss in the previous episode—personal branding is about embodying the energy you bring to everything you do. For HSPs, this clarity serves as a steady foundation during these continued exceptional times, in a world that often feels overwhelming. It supports marketing, leadership, and visibility in a way that aligns with your nervous system rather than against it, making it a powerful tool for creating more impact and more income, with less effort. This week’s episode is a continuation from our last episode. In this part two, we explore how to stay visible during challenging times by anchoring into your personal brand. Whether you’re personal experience of challenging times is facing loss, illness, emotional upheaval, or just the disorientation that can come with seasonal shifts, your CVO acts as both anchor and rudder—keeping you grounded while guiding you forward. We talk about how embracing your brand energy allows you to creatively access both/and: you can have BOTH both a sense of disruption from the season of summer AND remain in service. And the golden key to it all is privilege of agency—the reminder that you can design your business and leadership in a way that actually works for you, rather than against you. PLEASE NOTE: We will be moving this podcast over to our YouTube channel where fresh training content, just like you receive here, will be shared twice per week. Please use the link in the show notes and see you there! “When you truly embrace personal brand as your Core Value Offer that you embody, this is available to support you in being consistent even when you are faced with challenging times.” – Heather Dominick Listen and Learn: 2:51: Personal branding part one recap 5:19: How to work with personal branding specifically to remain visible during challenging times 6:55: How to use your CVO in challenging times 9:37: What happens to untrained highly sensitive people in challenging times 12:20: What is privilege of agency, and how to use it “Rather than defaulting to the coping cycle in the midst of challenging times, your personal brand, your CVO allows you to creatively access both/and.” – Heather Dominick Links and Resources: Get your copy of Heather's book DIFFERENT: http://www.differentthebook.com/ Get your copy of the HSE Training Kit: Survive to Thrive: http://www.shiftfromsurvivetothrive.com/ Get your copy of the HSE Assessment and Success Guide: http://www.myhsetype.com/ Follow us on our YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/acourseinbusinessmiracles Learn more about this episode of Business Miracles at https://www.businessmiracles.com/216
