Listen to Episode #06 of KD's Journey if you're interested in learning about how to navigate people in your life that are intentionally helpless. So what do I mean by intentional helplessness? Let's say your company is transitioning to a new platform, Outreach.io is a perfect example. With the switch to a newer prospecting platform, some teammates aren't as eager to learn it, let alone change up their processes. After months of meetings and discussions, no one is showing any interest in adoption. Being intentionally helpless then prompts comments like: "I don't know how", "It's different", "I don't understand it", "It won't work". These comments are clear indicators that not only is that person unwilling to try their best or put any effort into understanding the platform for themselves. The intentionally helpless might even ask others around them for help, when the answer is something that could've been easily found on their own. What else comes into play here? How do you help the intentionally helpless to become more curious and eager? Well, you'll have to listen to find out. I take a deep dive into what it means to be intentionally helpless, how to create leverage by identifying skills you're really good at, and how to use your leverage to reach further success in your journey.
