This zone knocks you down and you lack self confidence. Learning Zone = Here is where you begin to make progress, acquire new skills, deal with challenges head on. He lives 1 mile from where George Floyd was murdered. Tom talks to us about how this moment in history has affected his community, his personal and family life. Deeply saddened and angry by the death of George Floyd, Tom shares how this moment has engaged him to no longer stand on the sidelines. This week we sit down with Matthew Teixeira from Liverpool, NY. In June 2015, Matt weighed 314 lbs and decided it was time for a change. He set a goal to lose 100 lbs. Over the next winter, Matt changed the way he ate and added exercise which started shredding the pounds. He lost 100 lbs in 11 months. This week we talk with April Smith who has worked in a high stress job for 20 plus years as a 911 Dispatch Supervisor. The stress and long hours sitting resulted in obesity and health issues. April attempted multiple weight loss programs and had temporary results. In 2017, April made the decision to have weight loss surgery, changed her mindset, and stepped outside of her comfort zone to achieve her goal. April shares the moment she made the change and talks about her journey.
