    RESIST THE DEVIL

MEMORISE: Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7 READ: Matthew 4:1-4 1. Then was Jesus led up of the spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. 2. And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he afterwards hungered. 3. And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. 4. But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. MESSAGE: Temptation is a necessary test for your spiritual growth. It is a test to show whether you will choose God above the devil in any matter. If there's no temptation, how would we prove our love for God or grow spiritually? One key to resisting temptation is obedience to God. If you resist the devil by running away from sin consistently, you get stronger and it is easier to resist in the future. However, if you fall into temptations, it will be harder to overcome them in the future. “If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.” Proverbs 24:10 Your limited strength will fail you. You need to pray for strength and seek spiritual nourishment. You can also draw strength to resist the devil or overcome temptation when you learn and follow Gods word consistently. May the Lord strengthen you to withstand temptation. My dear, note that it is not wrong to be tempted. Even Jesus was tempted but He resisted the devil by the word it is written If you don't know what is written, how will you use it appropriately? PRAYER POINT: Holy Spirit, please be my companion. Guide me from failing. HYMN: ALL TO JESUS I SURRENDER BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 2 Chronicles 13-16, John 14:1-31 AUTHORS: PASTOR E. A. ADEBOYE. PASTOR (MRS) FOLU ADEBOYE

    BE BOLD AS A LION

MEMORISE: The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion. Proverbs 28:1 READ: Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. MESSAGE: Documentaries on the habitat of animals have shown that the lion is fearless in its pursuit. It is so courageous and confident that it doesn't retreat from any threat or attack. No wonder the Bible uses the lion to describe the attitude God expects from His children. When should you be bold? You should be bold when approaching God. Hebrews 4:16 says: “Let us, therefore, come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need” When you approach God in prayer, you're to come boldly as this will determine whether you'll obtain what you need or walk away empty-handed. In other words, boldness is a prerequisite to receiving anything you ask in faith from God. However, your relationship with God and knowing who you are in Christ should be the basis of your boldness. When Jesus died on the cross, one of the rights He secured for you is the right to come freely into the presence of God without condemnation, insecurity or fear. PRAYER POINT: Father, take away the spirit of fear from me and give me the spirit of boldness. MEMORISE: What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 1 Corinthians 6:19 READ: Colossians 2:20-22 20. Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances, 21. (Touch not; taste not; handle not; 22. Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men? MESSAGE: In the world of today, there is sexual perversion. Christian teenagers must take a stand for sexual purity. It is Gods desire that you remain sexually pure until marriage. I know that you are experiencing hormonal surges and feelings which may be responsible for some desires. However, as a Christian, you are dead to sin. Why would you sit in the lap of a member of the opposite sex all in the name of socializing or agree to go on unmonitored trips with him or her without informing your parents or guardian? Why would you stay behind closed doors with the opposite sex and think that no evil would happen? If you are truly a child of God, issues of kissing, necking, romancing or premarital sex would not be acceptable to you. I marvel when young people ask questions on these issues. Can you boldly do any of that before your earthly parent or pastor? If not, wait till you get married and if you're already in an unholy relationship, please call it off now. Repent of your secret sins and determine not to go back to your vomit. Gods stand on sexual sins will never change. Say no to impurity. KEY POINT: Anything beyond a handshake or side hug may eventually lead to sin. Flee all appearances of evil. MEMORISE: Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise; Ephesians 6:2 READ: Ephesians 6:1-4 1. Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. 2. Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise; 3. That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth. 4. And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. MESSAGE: When you honour and care for your parents, you will enjoy blessings from God. When I was younger, I ran errands for my mother and each time I did, she would say: "Adejare, when you call one person, two hundred will answer." Today, when I call one pastor, over two hundred answer. Your parents make a lot of sacrifices for you. They work hard to pay for your education, feed and clothe you, teach you the word of God and good morals to shape your behaviour. Don't ever forget these. So, show them love and respect; never argue with them, check on them through calls when you are not with them, take care of them when they have any health challenge, pray for them and buy them gifts. God will be very pleased with you if you do these. As you grow older, be responsible for their well-being. Never forget that your longevity on earth is tied to how you honour and respect your parents (Ephesians 6:2-3). KEY POINT: When you honour your parents, your days will be long. MEMORISE: For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty: and drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags. Proverbs 23:21 READ: 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 19. What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 20. For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's. MESSAGE: Gluttony is eating excessively. It shows that a fellow is being controlled by his belly. Gluttony is a sin and just like other sins, it has its consequences such as obesity, spiritual manipulation, cardiac arrest and other health challenges. A glutton will find it difficult to fast because he or she cannot do without food, whereas, there are some miracles you cannot perform and a height you cannot attain in the realm of the Spirit unless you fast. Also, gluttony is a misuse of your body. When you eat too much and become obese, God will not be pleased with you. Bible scholars have discovered that it is ideal to have two meals in a day supporting this claim with 1 Kings 17:6 where God sent a raven to feed Elijah twice a day. Although, you might have to eat more than twice in a day, ensure that you eat in appropriate quantities. Don't feed on junk, rather, eat fruits, vegetables and a balanced diet. Eat right and don't be controlled by your appetite. KEY POINT: Do you have control over your appetite or does your appetite controls you? Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: 7. Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. 8. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 9. Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. MESSAGE: Humility is key in leadership and relationships among humans. If you are humble, you will most likely inspire or lead others directly or indirectly because you will use your skills, knowledge and experience to bring people together to achieve goals. Are you privileged in any way? Be humble. Be like Jesus who left His glory above, came to be born in a manger in order to save the world from eternal damnation. Jesus was so humble that He learnt His earthly fathers business until He turned 30 and started His divine mission on earth. That is why He was referred to as the son of the carpenter. He never shouted at His dad or siblings to prove His superiority; He simply humbled Himself to learn human ways and relationships, His humility earned Him the greatest name both in heaven and on earth. Are you occupying any leadership position? Be humble; you will make more impact through humility than being bossy or rude. Don't think you are better than those you are leading, you are only privileged. PRAYER POINT: Holy Spirit, I receive the grace to be humble today. And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. 35. For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. 36. Watch ye, therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man. MESSAGE: The second coming of Christ is a message that is rarely preached these days. Whether it is preached or not, my child, know that the second coming of Christ is imminent and a lot of persons will be caught unawares. There are many signs that He is coming very soon. If you read Matthew 24:3-10, you will discover that all the signs of the end time stated in there have been manifested. Nations rise against nations, people are boastful, there are a lot of natural disasters such as tsunamis, earthquakes, fire outbreaks et cetera in the world today. Do not be caught unawares. For you not to be caught off-guard, plan your journey to heaven by living each day as if Jesus would come in the next minute. THEME: ANY VACUUM? MEMORISE: For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Romans 1:18 READ: Romans 1:25-28 25. Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. 26. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27. And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. 28. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; MESSAGE: In life, there is no vacuum. The same thing applies in Christendom. You cant sit on the fence, you are either for God or the devil. For instance, immediately the Spirit of God left King Saul, an evil spirit took over him (1 Samuel 16:14 ). Have you been indifferent as regards spiritual matters? You have to change today because any aspect of your life you do not surrender to the Master will be overridden by demons. Some children of God invite Him to take charge of their academics so that they can score high grades, but when it comes to their choice of friends, they leave God out. God is not only interested in your spiritual growth; He is interested in every minute detail about you. He wants to guide in your choice of career, friends, food, clothes et cetera. He wants you to seek His opinion before you do anything. Believe me, it is to your advantage. If you put Him in charge of everything about you, you will have nothing to regret. The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. 13. Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God. 14. They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing; MESSAGE: Anyone can be whatever before God. You can choose to be any of His creatures and you can be a servant. Well, being a servant gives one a degree of access to God but you can go further by being a child. In fact, the reason Christ died is to make us sons, co-heirs with Him. As a co-heir with Christ, you have access to everything He has. You have free access to God, you can call upon Him anytime and ask for anything you want. You have a right to call Him Father. Romans 8:15 says: “For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.” You will also flourish like a palm tree planted by the rivers of water because you are planted in His house, you are a son. Thus, you will achieve success in whatever you do. It is very easy to become a child of God. Just confess your sins and accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. Study the word of God and constantly communicate with your Father. KEY POINT: You can upgrade your relationship with God if you have been acting like a servant. MEMORISE: Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness: Hebrews 3:8 READ: Exodus 34:29-35 29. And it came to pass, when Moses came down from mount Sinai with the two tables of testimony in Moses' hand, when he came down from the mount, that Moses wist not that the skin of his face shone while he talked with him. 30. And when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone, and they were afraid to come nigh him. 31. And Moses called unto them; and Aaron and all the rulers of the congregation returned unto him: and Moses talked with them. 32. And afterward all the children of Israel came nigh: and he gave them in commandment all that the LORD had spoken with him in mount Sinai. 33. And till Moses had done speaking with them, he put a veil on his face. 34. But when Moses went in before the LORD to speak with him, he took the vail off, until he came out. And he came out, and spake unto the children of Israel that which he was commanded. 35. And the children of Israel saw the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses' face shone: and Moses put the vail upon his face again, until he went in to speak with him. MESSAGE: Many people think hearing from God is a very difficult thing. Some others think that God speaks to only men of God. This is not true. God speaks to every child of His through His word, visions, dreams, His prophets et cetera. No matter the means, He will never go against His word in the Bible. “God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by His Son, whom He hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also He made the worlds;” “Hebrews 1:1-2” Note the word us in the second verse of the scripture above. Thus, if you have not been hearing from God, it could be that you're not yet His child or when you pray, you only talk without waiting for an answer. It could also be that you have not been following the instructions He gave you before now. Know where you belong and make amends today so that you can enjoy a beautiful relationship with your Heavenly Father. PRAYER POINT: Father, please help me to listen to your voice at all times. However, the Holy Spirit remains the greatest fountain of inspiration. You see, any fellow who has the Holy Spirit living in him can conceive great ideas that will turn the world around for good. For instance, the Bible talks about a man called Uzziah. He was the first to invent an engine used as missiles in war. “And he made in Jerusalem engines, invented by cunning men, to be on the towers and upon the bulwarks, to shoot arrows and great stones withal. And his name spread far abroad; for he was marvellously helped, till he was strong.” “2 Chronicles 26:15” Uzziah was able to do that because he was marvellously helped by God. THEME: WHO IS YOUR NEIGHBOUR? MEMORISE: Let brotherly love continue. Hebrews 13:1 READ: Luke 10:25-37 MESSAGE: Love is the foundation upon which every relationship is built. Our God is love, so, if we are like God, we must love like Him. The early apostles understood this, so they did everything in common. They treated one another as neighbours; no wonder the Bible says in Acts 2:46 “And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,” Who truly is your neighbour? In our Bible reading for today, Jesus Christ made it clear that your neighbour is that fellow that is in need of your help at any point in time. It does not matter if he or she is your friend, your church member or lives close to you. Don't wait for the dullest student in your class to ask for help before you teach him or her. Psalms 30:5 READ: Psalms 30:1-5 1. I will extol thee, O LORD; for thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made my foes to rejoice over me. 2. O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me. 3. O LORD, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit. 4. Sing unto the LORD, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness. 5. For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. MESSAGE: In this end time, many preachers tell their congregation that God is love -so loving that He cannot hurt anyone. Some even say that there is nothing one can do to provoke God that He will destroy one. Well, there is no doubt that God is love. However, saying that He cannot be provoked to anger is a lie of the devil; He can get angry. When a fellow takes Gods mercy for granted and continues to sin without control, God will be angry. God is angry with sinners. Psalm 7:11 says: “God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.” The wicked in the scripture above are sinners. However, our memory verse says that His anger is for a moment. When a sinner genuinely turns from his wicked ways, God will deal with him as if he never sinned. Are you taking Gods love for granted by committing sins? Stop making God angry; confess and forsake your sins today so that He can show you mercy. But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. 37. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words, thou shalt be condemned. MESSAGE: One of the good characters fast going down the drain even amongst Christians is integrity. In the past, when companies wanted to employ, they would go to the church to look for people. In fact, the Pastor of a church could write a recommendation letter to a company on behalf of a member and the letter would be honoured, but these days, things have changed. Why? People no longer have integrity. Integrity means to stand by your words. It is saying the truth even in the face of danger, loss of friendship or anything. It is being true to one's words. Are you true to your words? Can your friends vouch for you? There are a lot of dangers in not having integrity. One of them is the danger of hell. If you lack integrity, it means you are a liar and all liars shall go to hell (Revelation 21:8). You will also lose the trust of people; nobody will believe whatever you say and this might eventually lead to loss of good opportunities later in life. If you lack integrity, ask the Holy Spirit for help today. If you have to swear before people believe you, you lack integrity. MESSAGE: Anger is a strong emotion that can destroy you if you don't deal with it. Why do people get angry easily? There are several reasons but we will consider two: Pride: People that often get offended are proud. For example, Haman planned to kill Mordecai and his people because he was proud. He felt he wasn't getting enough reverence from Mordecai (Esther 3:5). If you get angry easily, check it, you might be proud. Lack of love: Anyone who loves people genuinely will not get angry easily. 1 Corinthians 13:1-13 states the attributes of love; if you have all of then, you cannot stay angry at people. Immediately, a series of events took place to enthrone David. First, he killed Goliath, the giant that been terrorising the Israelites (1 Samuel 17:51 ). Then, he got the reward which was half of the kingdom and Saul's daughter as wife. Indeed, from the moment God rejected Saul, an evil spirit entered him. So, whenever he displayed madness, David would play his musical instrument and the madness would leave him for a moment. With all these, Saul knew that David was his replacement, so he tried all he could to kill him but failed woefully because God was with David. While David ran for his life, he hid in different caves so as not to get caught by Saul. A day came however, David slipped into a cave where Saul was sleeping. It would have been a day of revenge. He could have killed him and slip away, yet, he didn't. He only cut the hem of Saul's garment to prove that he knew where Saul slept. At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven? 2. And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, 3. And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. 4. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven. MESSAGE: One of the characteristics of children is that they don't worry about anything. Children are not bothered about what they will eat or wear. This is what our Heavenly Father expects from us His children. He does not want us to worry about tomorrow because He will take care of it. So, what is bothering you? Is your health failing? Has your parents marriage fallen apart? Are you afraid of a particular person, subject or course? Tell God about it now and forget about it. Another good thing about children is that they trust fully. For instance, if I tell any of my little children today, that I will give him or her a private jet as his next birthday gift, even if I cannot afford a car now, he or she will believe without any iota of doubt. God expects us to trust Him. He expects us to have faith in Him. Beloved, faith is an expression of our confidence in God and on His promises. What the prodigal son expressed when he went back home was faith in his father. He was confident that his father would take him back even if it was as a servant. Express this kind of child-like faith as from today and watch God take care of you. KEY POINT: Have faith like a child, so that God can prove Himself as your Father. THEME: COMMAND YOUR DAY MEMORISE: For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. Psalms 30:5 READ: Psalms 5:3 My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will lookup. MESSAGE: Morning is the best part of the day because different things happen in the night; those in the kingdom of darkness meet in the night. No wonder the Bible says weeping may endure for a night, but when the day breaks, new things happen. Morning comes with joy and new hope. Therefore, it is important to speak in the morning and the best time to do this is at midnight or dawn. Proverbs 8:17 says those that seek God in the morning will find Him. It is also important to command the day to your advantage because the Bible says in Matthew 13:25 that while men slept, the enemy came and sowed tares amongst the wheat and went his way. So, when you wake every morning, don't be quick to upload your WhatsApp status or look at other peoples status. Upgrade your status with the Lord on your knees. Speak with your Heavenly Father first. Hear an instruction on how to go about the day, mention your name and speak positive things into your life and the day. KEY POINT: Those that seek God early will find Him. ENVY IS A SIN

ENVY IS A SIN MEMORISE: Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another. Galatians 5:26 READ: Romans 13:12-13 12. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us, therefore, cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. 13. Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. MESSAGE: Many people think envy is just a character flaw; it is more than that, in fact, it is a sin. Also, envy is a lack of love. Anyone envious of another person lacks love. 1 Corinthians 13:4 says: love envieth not. So, anyone who truly loves cannot be envious. Envy is also a sin because it could lead to murder as in the case of Cain and Abel. They both offered sacrifices to God; while Cain's was rejected, Abel's was accepted. Cain then murdered his brother because he was envious of him (Genesis 4:3-8 ). Also, the brothers of Joseph would have killed him because they envied him, but they eventually sold him into slavery. In addition, envy is a sign of lack of faith in God. If you have faith in God, why envy another person? All you need to do is ask your Heavenly Father for anything you need and if that thing is good for you, He will give you even more. However, if He does not want to give you something, no matter how much you envy those who have that thing, He will still not give you. KEY POINT: Be content with what you have. MEMORISE: Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. 1 Peter 5:5 READ: 1 Peter 5:5-7 5. Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. 6. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: 7. Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. MESSAGE: Your dressing says a lot about you. Today's memory verse says one should be clothed in humility. Hence, humility is like a garment. One reason we must wear humility is to receive grace from God; grace is for everyone (Titus 2:11 ) but there is a special grace that only the humble can get from God. James 4:6 says: *“But He giveth more grace. Wherefore He saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace to the humble".* Another reason you must be clothed in humility is to have authority over the devil because he flees when he is resisted by the humble. James 4:7 says: *“Submit yourself therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you".* Thus, for you to resist the devil, you need to submit yourself to God. This is what Jesus did when He left His glory in heaven to die on the cross in order to restore the relationship between man and God. If you find it difficult to listen to advice, greet some people because you feel they are lower in status, respect elders, et cetera, you might be clothed in pride. Examine yourself today. KEY POINT: You are either clothed in humility or pride. HYMN: ALL TO JESUS I SURRENDER BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 2 Samuel 4-6, Luke 18:18-43 AUTHORS: PASTOR E. A. ADEBOYE PASTOR (MRS) FOLU ADEBOYE

MEMORISE: They grope in the dark without light, and he maketh them to stagger like a drunken man. Job 12:25 READ: Job 12:19-25 19. He leadeth princes away spoiled, and overthroweth the mighty. 20. He removeth away the speech of the trusty, and taketh away the understanding of the aged. 21. He poureth contempt upon princes, and weakeneth the strength of the mighty. 22. He discovereth deep things out of darkness, and bringeth out to light the shadow of death. 23. He increaseth the nations, and destroyeth them: he enlargeth the nations, and straiteneth them again. 24. He taketh away the heart of the chief of the people of the earth, and causeth them to wander in a wilderness where there is no way. 25. They grope in the dark without light, and he maketh them to stagger like a drunken man. MESSAGE: Anything created cannot be greater than the creator. This is why darkness can never be greater than God because He created both light and darkness (Genesis 1:3 ). However, any fellow who does not have Christ will grope in darkness; the moment he or she accepts Jesus as his or her Lord and Saviour, darkness will disappear. Thus, as long as you look unto Jesus, your spiritual eyes will be open; you will always have direction and revelations. There are however some attitudes that can make a child of God live in darkness. They are: “Indulgence in sin” “Disobedience to the Holy Spirit” “Disrespect for ones parents” “Backsliding” If you are guilty of any of the things listed above, repent today so that you will not remain in darkness. PRAYER POINT: Father, let Your light shine in and through me. HYMN: MY FAITH LOOKS UP TO THEE BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 2 Samuel 1-3, Luke 18:1-43 AUTHORS: PASTOR E. A ADEBOYE PASTOR (MRS) FOLU ADEBOYE

    THE STATE OF THE HEART

MEMORISE: Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart. Psalms 119:2 READ: 1 Samuel 16:4-7 4. And Samuel did that which the LORD spake, and came to Bethlehem. And the elders of the town trembled at his coming, and said, Comest thou peaceably? 5. And he said, Peaceably: I am come to sacrifice unto the LORD: sanctify yourselves, and come with me to the sacrifice. And he sanctified Jesse and his sons, and called them to the sacrifice. 6. And it came to pass, when they were come, that he looked on Eliab, and said, Surely the LORD's anointed is before him. 7. But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart. MESSAGE: The heart is the seat of mans actions, so also, the content of a mans heart can be known through his actions. This is why the state of ones heart is very important in walking with God. Romans 10:10 says: "For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness" In Daniel 4:30-33, King Nebuchadnezzar became proud and God gave him the heart of a beast. For seven years, he behaved like a beast until God restored him. God is interested in the state of your heart because He knows that if your heart is perfect, you will be steadfast before Him. King David understood this, no wonder he asked God to recreate his heart after he committed adultery with Bathsheba and killed her husband (Psalms 51:1).To walk with God blamelessly, you need a right heart. You can only have a right heart when you fill your heart with the word of God (Psalms 119:11). KEY POINT: How much of the word of God do you know? Whenever I see young people use their skills in various departments in church, I'm happy because, one, it puts them in an environment where they can be guided, mentored and trained. Two, it serves as a platform where they can discover their life's purpose. The Bible says: “Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;” Ecclesiastes 12:1. If you are a child of God and you are yet to join the workforce in your church, I advise you to join today. You are still young and agile. Follow your area of interest and join a suitable unit. MEMORISE: And he said, Call her. And when he had called her, she stood in the door. 2 Kings 4:15 READ: 2 Kings 4:12 And he said to Gehazi his servant, Call this Shunammite. And when he had called her, she stood before him. 2 Kings 4:14-15 14. And he said, What then is to be done for her? And Gehazi answered, Verily she hath no child, and her husband is old. 15. And he said, Call her. And when he had called her, she stood in the door. MESSAGE: Relating with the opposite sex is a delicate matter. A great woman noticed the movement of Prophet Elisha and perceived that he was a genuine man of God. In agreement with her husband, she gave him a befitting accommodation. The man of God also perceived that she needed something, so he sent for her. The first time she honoured his call, she stood before him, not beside him (2 Kings 4:12 ). At his second call, she stood by the door (vs 15). She didn't act in a familiar way or march boldly into his room to sit on the bed. You must know how to set boundaries when dealing with the opposite sex. As a young lady, you must learn how to comport yourself. Many teenage girls have lost their virginity due to ignorance, carelessness or overconfidence. It would be foolish of a girl to hang around boys in dark and deserted places. This is to guard against rape or fornication. Also, set boundaries in your chat with the opposite sex. Don't use endearing words such as sweetheart, babe, boo et cetera. PRAYER POINT: Father, let my life bring honour to Your name at all times.

PECULIAR UNIQUENESS MEMORISE: But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. 2 Timothy 2:20 READ: 1 Peter 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light; MESSAGE: The beauty of life is seen in the variety of men. If we were all the same, the earth would be very boring. God created us differently to complement one another. For instance, a banker manages your money in your bank account, a teacher trains on a subject, a farmer cultivates food, a tailor designs and makes clothes. These professionals need one another due to their individual peculiarities in order to make the world a better place. Unfortunately, many teenagers, rather than embrace their uniqueness, give excuses such as: My ability isn't enough, I can't make it, you're better than I am, I don't have any connection, this task is too difficult, I'm too fat, et cetera. If you are one of those who use any of these degrading comments, you had better stop because you will not fulfill God's purpose for your life with that kind of mentality. Embrace your uniqueness; don't wish to be another person, instead, focus on your strengths and get better at your weaknesses. Your existence shows how important you are in Gods agenda for mankind. PRAYER POINT: Lord, help me to use my potential to affect my world positively.
