Hey everyone! We're back! Today has been a wild ride, but I can't help and ruminate over today's discussion with my very best friend, author, mother, and philosopher Courtney DuPuy! We discuss various shades of the divine feminine and the challenges and growths we are facing today; as well as that of our foremothers. The #venusinleoretrograde and #thesacredslut archetypes show up a bit to play, as do the #7demonsofmary and #shaktiwoman. Here is a link to a great video about Mary of Magdalene as well as a link to one of the books Courtney mentions! I know it's been a while since I've published some real content, you guys. I am so sorry that life has been so dramatic and has fluctuated so much that I felt like I couldn't put out anything on the show, but guess what?! I'm back! In this very "off the cuff" episode, my very dear friend, author, and healer Courtney DuPuy and I discuss the nature of our healing journeys and how we are working with our divine femininity! Water the Women is about a lot of things, including a reminder to just f****** drink water! lol Please enjoy!
What a beautiful reminder that mindset is everything! Love is everything! We are being reminded that we have a choice to view the world as trying to harm us and live with that mindset, or we can view it through the lens of infinite opportunity and potential! Blessed Imbolg my friends and a Blessed St. Brigid's Day as well
Maiden, Mother, Crone energy LET'S GO!
Blessed Winter Solstice and final weeks of 2022! The energies are literally coming in HOT for this reading, and honestly, we're being asked to take a moment to ourselves. We are going to be receiving information from all directions and the lesson above all is to grant ourselves the chance to think before acting. To respond and not react! Additionally, we are seeing a spectrum of energies moving in two directions with the way we handle all of this bombardment of info. 1) We choose a new way of responding and choose to open up to others and gather the insights, strengths, skills, and support of those close to us. That we TRUST that these potential “enemies” actually can be ALLIES.♥️ 2) We essential double down on the path we're on and accept what it is we may have to sacrifice in order to achieve. That if we choose the path of “if we want it done right we gotta do it ourselves”, we may feel unlucky emotionally and potentially even isolated, burdened, and bitter
You guys, Happy 11/11/22! What a time to be alive am I right?' I am so happy to finally have some space emotionally and physically and spiritually to be back here with you all and with an amazing new deck that is doing WONDERS for my public and personal readings. Hi everyone! Welcome back to Perceptionists Anonymous! This week I picked up on some sort of waves of themed energy we're going to be riding this week and it's looking good! We may begin the week with a sense of heaviness and feeling plagued by the details of the last while, but mid week we will be given a chance to see what is starting to show the beginning of the end and what this “death” is going to give way to. What opportunities are going to come from this ending if only we don't get caught up in the dramatics and feeling bad for ourselves? What ways can we channel our inner Queen of Swords and use this fierce independence and strength to learn and push our goals? We're in it dudes; we got this!
Hi everyone! This week we are looking at some unique energies in the way of partnering with others and using your combined efforts to deliver the greatest possible outcome for all involved! Be weary of those that are ultimately critical and demeaning of your work and beware of those that may be jealous or may pretend to support you more than they do. Who is best suited for your affection? Who is best deserving of your energy? Who can you look to for help and guidance? Look that direction!
This week we are being shown a pretty dramatic force of energy involving current day affairs and how we can do our best to nullify this potential sense of helplessness and anxiety and channel our inner Archangel and King energy! To pick up the sword in anyway we have access and to choose to use that sword not as a benefit of civil war, but as a bid of protection and direct action!
Hello everyone!! Man, we're really doing it! Eclipse season is upon us and I know we're just having to white knuckle our way through it, but I have some GREAT insight this week guys! Though this full moon eclipse in Scorpio is really showing us where our work is needed, we have a cute and a plan: LOVE. While I'm not one of those intuitives and energy workers that's all “love and light”, we are being given the chance to choose love over fear regardless of what's happened! What's the alternative? Ruminating, hating, sulking? No! We're better than that! Get out there and choose whatever energy and activities make you feel the “lightest”. We deserve it! If you all have been enjoying my weekly readings, feel free to reach out to schedule a personal reading with me or see what other energetic services I offer! Please like and share and I'll see y'all later this week! -Christy Ann Christyann@perceptionistsanonymous.com
Good morning everyone and Blessed Beltane to all my witchy folk! This week I have chosen to put together the cross cards of the Celtic cross tarot spread and cover some big energy. This week we are being shown that we have really got to look at the areas of our lives that we are trying to CONTROL. What are you worried about falling through? What are you ruminating on that is weighing you down? What are you afraid of embarking on because you can't see where it's headed? I discuss this and much more on this weeks energetic forecast! Please like and follow to stay up to date on my work!! Reach out to me at Www.Perceptionistsanonymous.com
What's up everyone! Welcome back to our weekly energetic tarot forecast series! This week we're looking at a call to action; and a fun one at that! We are being asked to embrace the energies of spring by taking account of our lives in a very real monetary and material way as well as a personal/relationship focused way. This week we need to strike a healthy balance between the various areas of our lives calling for our attention, and that we have a choice to take on all of these things alone or put faith in those closest to us. We don't have to bear the weight of our swords when we can share the weight with others and help them with theirs as well. We will flourish if we work together is the energy of the week!
Welcome back everyone! This week on Perceptionists Anonymous I am really excited to share a sort of dual episode featuring yours truly and the incredible host of the SJ Childs Show! With April being Autism awareness month, I was blessed with the chance of meeting Sara on the set of the Women of Indie Pods United Summit a few weeks ago. With her experience, work, and activism in the field of Autism and Neurodivergence awareness, I thought her a GREAT field of education for my audience and potentially me for hers! In this episode, we cover the real person-to-person experiences that come with loving someone with this particular cognitive style and she does a great job of really showing some of the incredible ways she and her family work to create the healthiest and most fluid lifestyle to benefit them! For those looking into some of the topics we discuss in this episode, please check out her show at sjchilds.org or on any listening platform!
Welcome back to Perceptionists Anonymous! Our energetic Tarot reading this week is looking a bit…swordy to say the least! The full residing energies we're seeing are about taking downtime and finding a way to be okay while the bigger picture shows itself to us. I'm feeling a lot of restlessness due to heartache and the absolute need for us to pick our battles and not be reactive. The world is working through hard lessons and EVERYONE is hurting and sore. There is so much at play that we can't seem to see all the way and so much of it is outside our control so we need to take this chance to enjoy our solitude or rest or quietness because we need to be cool headed where we are heading in the world. Kind of concerned with what energies are beginning to come in if we are being asked to really contemplate our peace right now, but I'm seeing that the answers will reveal themselves regardless of whether we worry or not, so let's just try and chill.
What's up everyone?! Welcome back to our weekly energetic forecast series with Christy Ann. This week we are seeing a lot of work; work for yourself that is! What do you love? What do you love to spend your time creating? And can you find a way to combine your love of creating and your hard work to accomplish something you dream of? Well, this is your sign!
For those that have been keeping up with the show, you all know how excited I have been to work with the ladies of the Women of Indie Pods United Summit for 2022. Last year was the first year and Perceptionists Anonymous made an appearance discussing everything metaphysical. THIS YEAR, I came on and talked about something a little closer to my personal journey; being basically too smart for my own good! I spent weeks putting together my talking points for this event and in natural Christy Ann fashion, went off the rails following my intuition to touch on really important areas of mental health, personal development, trauma response, and a lot of my own personal experience. This talk is important to me because you can't help anyone unless you have been through the layers of something yourself and overanalysis and overthinking are definitely two things that I have experience in. Anyway, you guys, please go over to my brand new website and show your girl some love: https://www.perceptionistsanonymous.com/
Welcome back everyone! This week I talk with a great friend of mine, author, editor, and sensitive person Courtney DuPuy! We discuss the sort of double edged sword that is being “too sensitive”. We discuss the idea and experience of being a “highly sensitive person” and what implications it could have as well as what ways the idea if sensitivity has been used against us. Please enjoy and please check out my new website!! In this weeks reading we see a lot of duality between our feminine and masculine sides and our inner child/expectations and our actual life experiences. We are being asked to find ways to cultivate openness even in the face of having to really take care of our shit you know? Love you guys! ☀️
You guys, I want to say that this might be my most favorite podcast episode yet! I am working through a series of philosophies that express the human spirit and as I delve into politics, psychology, sociology, philosophy, I continue to work closer towards my soul's purpose of looking at how we got this way as humans in the western civilization. Nihilism Absurdism. Existentialism. Feudalism. Amongst many more fall under this particular theoretical philosophy (if we let it), and it is extremely interesting! Postmodernism in well known for the idea that nothing in itself is real and that all actions are reactions to the reactions to life as it is interpreted. Some shit, eh? They may be "right" though... Check it out
Welcome back, everyone! I thought it might be fun to continue my series on "isms" by confronting the three largest political philosophies in the US: Libertarianism, Liberalism, and Conservatism. The ways they're different, ways they can relate, literal ways in which brains can be different, and how they relate to the founding of our country! Super interesting stuff! Stay tuned for more interesting "isms" as we journey to the center of how the f**k society got this way lol. I'm sorry for the delay in episodes guys; I've been in the process of moving and am pretty sick for the last week or so! I really appreciate you all and can't wait to come back with some great content for you guys!
What a crazy in-depth episode this is guys! I am so grateful to call in author, instructor, editor (and my best friend) Courtney Dupuy! In this episode, we question the fabric of reality, core components of culture, and how the f**k to feel good when everything seems to be falling apart! Enjoy! Welcome back everyone! Today we are following up our discussion on Anarchist philosophy and the many ways it can manifest. I totally apologize for my poor wimpery dog in the background; also, I would be lying if I said she didn't throw me off as I tried to convey the depth of this topic tonight haha. Anyway, here is a list of some great resources to check out if you're interested in furthering your understanding of this topic, but don't worry, we will probably do a third episode once I become more obsessed! What's up Perceptionists! This week we will be covering a topic that has definitely become front and center in the last few years. While just about everyone of us has heard of this syndrome, I was incredibly surprised by much of the information I came across in my research. A couple years ago, ADHD was thought to just effect young boys at an early age and then they would eventually grow out of it; however, they have discovered that this is definitely not true! Only 1 out of every 8 people with the disorder actually grow out of it and it appears that men and women are actually effected equally; women do have the distinction of often being misdiagnosed with anxiety or mood disorders which only look at the symptoms of what they're experiencing. ADHD can be broken down into three subsectors: Inattentive type, hyperactive/impulsive type, and a combined type. Women tend to fall under the "inattentive" type that are typically symptoms internalized whereas men tend to externalize their symptoms and fall under the stereotypical hyperactive type. There is so much information in this episode and I guess I sort of nerded out after discovering that so much of what I have dealt with in life actually had terminology that explained how my brain sort of short circuits haha. Anyway, enjoy the show everyone and don't forget to add me on social media under @sailor.awen on IG and Tiktok or by reaching out to my email: Perceptionistsanonymous@gmail.com.
Welcome back to another episode of one woman's journey to center of how the F**k society got this way; my name is Christy Ann and I will be your emotional support host! This week I wanted to sort of break up our conversation on Civil Rights and the Women's Movement and take on something a little bit closer to home. For anyone that knows me knows that I have studied and experienced traits of Borderline Personality Disorder since I was 12 or so years old. I have spent numerous hours researching and studying the behaviors in others as well as in myself to see how these traits manifest and how this may show up in a person versus how it shows on paper so to speak. This particular episode is full of some very real conversation around emotional distress, childhood neglect, identity disturbance, and potential self-harm so for that I want to issue a bit of a "trigger warning". This show takes the role of a sort of "public personal therapy session" between myself and I and I want to use my platform to help others understand this diagnosis from the inside and clear away some of the stigma associated with BPD. This will likely be a two part show, so stay tuned! Below are my sources quoted therein, and I look forward to hearing on your feedback! I just wanted to take a minute and wish everyone a Happy Holiday! I won't be putting out an episode this week, but next week we have so much to look forward to y'all!!
Welcome back to another week of introspective questions on how the f**k society got this way! I'll be your host, Christy Ann! In this weeks episode, I am following up on our analysis of the idea of "Patriarchy" and in what ways it affects our lives. After spending last week confronting the different ideas that could potentially fall under the umbrella of Patriarchy, I wanted to get to the bottom of how this all happened. I came across concepts like "coverture" and "Cult of Domesticity" and these things literally blew my mind whilst pulling together all the sporadic points through which men came to so distinctly rule over women. Truly fascinating information in this episode and I have posted all of my sources below for your reading and viewing pleasure! Enjoy! Welcome back Perceptionists! This week we're diving straight in to what is basically the topic of the century: Patriarchy. "What is "the Patriarchy"'? "How does it affect us?" "Who do we blame and how do we "fix" it?" In this episode, I shift gears from our discussion on individual and social "identity", towards the more controversial ideas confronting the spoken and unspoken suppression of women and minorities. Initially, I had intended to merely discuss the ways in which "toxic masculinity" is internalized in Western Culture, but after hours and days of study, I began to have WAY more questions than that! When we think of the idea of "the Patriarchy" certain terms and concepts come to mind like misogyny, chauvinism, pay gap, gender inequality, abuse etc., but I wanted to get down to the details of what this thing is and ask some potentially uncomfortable questions. "Is Patriarchy real or are we thinking too much?" "Are men naturally dominant over women or are we being too sensitive?" "Are other men affected like minorities, and if so, to what extent?" "Are gender roles biologically innate or are they socially constructed?" "At what point were women forced into subservience to their husbands and how the hell did it happen?" "Is male dominance the rule in other cultures or just ours?" "If 'the Patriarchy' controls every part of our lives, how did it go unquestioned for so effing long?" So many questions; this doesn't even touch the surface! Go ahead and check out my show on any listening platform you get your podcasts by searching Perceptionists Anonymous, or check out my Instagram accounts under @sailor.awen and @perceptionistsanonymous. What's up Perceptionists! In this week's episode I cover an incredibly interesting sociological topic called "Symbolic Interactionism". During the past few episodes we have been working on our understanding of who we are as people, who we are as individuals, how this develops, what the theories of who "we" are and what the "I" even is. We are slowly working our way towards the more social understanding of how this "I" begins to interact with the world around it and how this interaction actually creates the nature of our reality. This topic is amazingly complex due to the point that it shows that our entire reality is essentially subjective and negotiable based on our interactions with others and the interpretations we have therein. Check out the show and let me know any feedback you have or if you have another topic that you think would pair nicely with our "Identity Series" we have going on here! Here are a few links to my sources for a chance to do some further research of your own!
Welcome back Perceptionists! In this episode I confront the dauntingly large concept of "Non-Attachment" and the conditions of human desire! I discuss my personal understanding of and experiences with the idea of non-attachment and how exactly it can make a difference in our lives. I discuss theories on attachment, desire, aversion, and transcendence all while doing my best to come to accept life on life's own terms; which apparently is the point in the first place! Please stay tuned to the whole show for an unbelievable guest appearance by the late and great BILL HICKS y'all! Thank you so much to my listeners for their feedback on what topics they wish for me to cover and I know that you all are going to be SO EXCITED to see what I have in store for next week! Hi Perceptionists! In this episode I discuss the various styles of attachment types in addition to the studies that helped form these ideas. I discuss autonomous, dismissing, resistant, and disorganized styles and give a lot of my own personal experiences with these things as a sort of reference point. I go into a bit of detail on the lesser discussed style of "Disorganized" or anxious-ambivalent attachment and how this is often related to issues in dissociation of all types. I even cover theories and studies around the attachment styles of cats! :D Amazing! What's up Perceptionists! I am so excited to introduce to you all relationship coach and expert in over thinking, UK based, Rebecca Ore! In this episode, Rebecca and I sort of go off on our interpretations of "overthinking" is and how it can be differentiated from regular day-to-day analysis. We discuss ideas around relationships (platonic and romantic) and how we can make the most of them while walking ourselves through some serious healing. In this episode we really get into ideas around boundaries, attachment theory, relationship types, and all the sort of anxieties that show themselves within each scenario! Rebecca is a relationship coach for people with anxious brains who are chronic overthinkers. She helps people take control over their thinking patterns and limiting beliefs so that they can feel confident, secure, and connected in their relationships. In this episode I follow up a bit on the previous discussion of layers of identity based on Warwick Fox's theory of Transpersonal Ecology. These layers include Personal identity, Ontological identity, and Cosmological identity. I follow this up with theories on what "the self" even is and how it equates and relates to "identity" as a way to understand what the hell consciousness is. Let me know what you think and how I can continue to make the best of this show for you guys! Welcome! In this week's episode I follow up on the previous topic of "Deep Ecology". I go into further detail of what exactly Deep Ecology is, what it stands for as a movement, and how it has inspired other movements to follow such as what Warwick Fox has called "Transpersonal Ecology". Transpersonal Ecology gives us a format to expand on how we see ourselves and how we relate to the rest of existence. Through what labels or "identities" we afford ourselves and how we can see the bigger picture. In this episode I touch on the idea of "Dark Green Religion" (and will be discussing this topic in a later episode), but here is the link to the article I read from in the show; enjoy! http://www.brontaylor.com/environmental_articles/pdf/Taylor--DeepEcologyasSocialPhilosophy.pdf --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/perceptionistsanonymous/support
