Happy Solstice! The Sun arrives in Capricorn, kicking off a new season, one devoted to the long-term planning of Saturn, Capricorn's ruling planet. For those in the northern hemisphere, the winter solstice is the return of the light. In the southern, the start of a descent.Timestamps:♈ Aries — 22:47♉ Taurus — 26:20♊ Gemini — 28:27♋ Cancer — 32:04♌ Leo — 36:35♍ Virgo — 39:55♎ Libra — 42:09♏ Scorpio — 45:08♐ Sagittarius — 48:20♑ Capricorn — 51:52♒ Aquarius — 55:46♓ Pisces — 58:57Holiday Special: 10% off on consultations, packages, and coaching. In this episode of the podcast (episode 563), I want to first say Happy Solstice and how nice it is to start getting those longer days. I discuss the moment when a photograph and photographer stop explaining everything or at least trying to. Not because we fail,, but because it can’t explain everything nor should it. Most of us are taught to search for photographs. We head into the world with a sense of purpose, a checklist of things to photograph, or an idea of what would make the outing worthwhile. Searching is active can feel productive. It also quietly demands that the photograph arrive already formed, ready to justify itself and how well we did in the clicking of the shutter Seeing is different. Seeing has no urgency. It does not require the world to perform on command. It asks only that we stay. I notice that when I am searching, my attention narrows. I move faster. I recognize patterns quickly and dismiss what does not fit. The photographs that come from this state often easily explain themselves . There is nothing wrong with that, but there is a limit and it can be borning over time. AFterall, once the photograph has finished explaining, there is nothing else left to see. Seeing begins when searching exhausts itself. When I stop asking what I am going to make and start paying attention to what is already there. For me this is rooting in boredom or frustration when nothing else is working. Nothing is happening. The light is flat. The scene feels unremarkable. Yet, if I stay, something subtle begins to emerge. A relationship. A rhythm. A small shift in how I now look at things in the world. These photographs do not announce themselves. They do not resolve quickly. They often feel unfinished, even to me. And that is precisely what gives them room to breathe. A photograph that stops explaining does not close the conversation. It opens it. It allows uncertainty to remain intact. Instead of delivering meaning, it makes space for it. This kind of image asks the viewer to linger, to bring their own attention and experience into the frame. Seeing without searching is a discipline. It requires patience, restraint, and a willingness to leave with nothing. It means trusting that not every photograph needs to declare its purpose. Some of the most meaningful work I have made came from moments when I stopped trying to find something and allowed myself to simply be present. When the photograph arrived slowly. When it did not explain itself. When it asked me, and eventually the viewer, to stay.
Please take time this day (12-21-25) to acknowledge the low point of the sun in its endless cycles that are about to usher in a new era based on “Service to Others” – in my view. This one-hour episode covers the ongoing battle of a woman who stood up for the rights of us all (more...)

Beloved, Happy Solstice - the RETURN TO LIGHT. This day is a moment every year when the world is invited to pause and to stop. It's quiet, almost imperceptible, but if you're paying attention—you can feel it.It happens on the Winter Solstice. The longest night. The shortest day. The edge between what has been and what is yet to come.We call it a turning point, but really—it's a still point. As the earth tilts away from the sun, everything pauses. The trees sleep. The fields rest. Even our bodies seem to crave slower rhythms, as if the ancient part of us remembers: this is the time to exhale.“The day/night of Winter Solstice is a liminal time… the moment between nights getting longer and nights getting shorter.”In the rush of daily life, we rarely let ourselves pause in that in-between. We push through dark mornings. We complain about early sunsets. We fill every silence with something to do.The White Stag, a symbol of the Winter Solstice, represents Spirit or messengers in many cultures. Seen as purified totems glowing with inner light, they offer teachings and wisdom from beyond that can transform us in unexpected ways. White Stags are also considered doorways to other realms, both a blessing and a force to be respected—following them may demand everything from you with no guarantee of return. The White Stag's link to the Winter Solstice comes from the season's clarity: with foliage gone, stark contrasts reveal what was hidden. In winter, stags are at their most powerful—gathering herds, mating for the next generation, protecting them, and embodying the forest's spirit. But just as the Solstice marks the pause before light's return, we too need the pause before renewal. So how do we embrace this? Here's what rises:* Breathe in the dark. Literally. Stand outside at noon on Solstice. Let the gloom press against your skin. Inhale stillness. Exhale striving.* Sharpen your tools. Not just hammers or skis—but your inner ones. What thoughts, habits, or regrets clutter your spirit? Write them down, then burn or bury the paper.* Move like the whitestag. Stags do not rush in the presence of fear..* It listens. Sit quietly for 10 minutes. Notice what shifts when you stop doing.Reflect with me:* What burden are you ready to release, like the stag shedding antlers?* Where might the White Stag appear in your ordinary? A sunset? A child's laugh?* How can you honor the sacred pause, instead of rushing toward spring?Winter Solstice doesn't promise instant rebirth. It gifts us a threshold—a chance to stand bare and brave, trusting that light will return. As the example of the seasonal symbol of the White Stag - they show us, strength and grace are dance partners. Shed the unnecessary. Rest deeply. Let your inner light rekindle. The longest night is not an end. It's the breath before the dawn.Love and deep rest, KassandraHey….PS:In times of change and uncertainty, knowing which step to take next can feel overwhelming. The path to sovereign wealth and intentional living requires us to tap into our most valuable resource: our intuition. The Light Between Oracle Journey is your personal guide—offering oracle readings, reflective journaling prompts, and tools to ground your inner knowing. It blends ancient wisdom with modern neuroscience to help you find clarity and take empowered action, one breath, one choice at a time. When I provide a topic or block for transformation, I help uncover life's hidden light, waiting for you to bring it forth.Choose to be in the drivers seat to self empowerment and next-era growth.
Happy Solstice, sweet witches! The longest night is an energetic reboot moment, offering space for us to slow-down and reconnect with our true essence. With a New Moon on December 19th ushering in the shortest day, we have a precious incubation period to honor what is ending, and what we hope to renew our faith in as we move through the grounded Capricorn season. A reminder! We will be taking a short podcast break, with episodes returning at the Spring Equinox. We have some super magical episodes already planned for you. Stay tuned, witches.
This week, the adventuresome Sagittarius New Moon season gets off to a bit of a strained beginning as the Sun squares off with Saturn and Neptune. Relationships and values are put to the test when Venus and Saturn meet in a difficult aspect. We honor the solstice as the Sun marches into Capricorn, and April answers a listener question about being born at the New or Full Moon. Plus: A lesson of patience, built to be productive and then to rest, and no place to go but up. Read a full transcript of this episode. Have a question you'd like answered on the show? The Sagittarius New Moon (Dec. 19, 5:43 pm PST) at 28º24' Sagittarius. This New Moon is on the Sabian symbol 29 Sagittarius, A fat boy mowing the lawn of his house on an elegant suburban street. Guard your energy and anticipate that any tasks or any clarity you hope to gain will be hard won and might take a little while for you to see. [4:00] The Sun squares Saturn (Dec. 16, 8:33 pm PST) at 25°28' Sagittarius-Pisces. Use this time to plan and prepare for things that you want to get done at the New Moon, rather than pushing hard to actually do them. [5:04] The Sun squares Neptune (Dec. 20, 5:02 pm PST) at 29°24' Sagittarius-Pisces. Expect to feel drained, maybe a bit confused or unclear about what you want to accomplish during this New Moon cycle. Don't be too hard on yourself if you find you just don't have the energy. [6:25] Lunar Phase Family Cycle (LPFC). The First Quarter (first action point) in this LPFC comes on September 18, 2026, at 25º57' Sagittarius. The Full Moon (awareness point) of this LPFC will occur on June 18, 2027, at 27º33' Sagittarius. Then the Last Quarter Moon (final action point) in the LPFC comes on March 17, 2028, at 27º53' Sagittarius. [8:39] Void-of-Course (VOC) Moon periods. The Moon trines Neptune (Dec. 17, 7:24 am PST). It's VOC for 1 hour, 14 minutes, then enters Sagittarius (8:38 am PST). Use this VOC Moon to get into the habit of connecting with the divine daily and observing the messages that come your way. [10:07] The Moon squares Neptune (Dec. 19, 7:41 pm PST). It's VOC for 1 hour, 11 minutes, then enters Capricorn (8:52 pm PST). Consider a quiet evening at home, doing something imaginative and restful. [11:12] Venus square Saturn (Dec. 20, 9:09 pm PST) at 25º37' Sagittarius-Pisces. Venus in aspect to Saturn often brings delays or disappointments, but sometimes the lesson is to have patience, and in the case of Saturn in Pisces, acceptance. [12:47] The Sun enters Capricorn (Dec. 21, 7:03 am PST). Happy Solstice! Happy Yule! Happy Midsummer! The Capricorn and Cancer solstices are a wonderful time for standing still, which is what solstice literally means: the Sun standing still. The Capricorn Solstice is the beginning of Capricorn season (Dec. 21, 2025 -Jan. 19, 2026). The Sun is lowest in the midday sky. There's no place to go but up. What is it that we want to accomplish? What mountain is it that we want to climb? [16:53] Listener Ivana asks about Full and New Moon natives. Check out Dana Gerhardt for more information on the lunar phases. If you are feeling blah in your work, this episode is for you! As we welcome the new season, I invite you to pause so that you can actually FEEL yourself and your relationship to the people and things around you. I build on the concept of a “pausing practice,” which I introduced in Episode 200, where I define pausing as “intentionally doing nothing in particular and letting go of the sense that time is always fixed to an agenda.” I also introduce two other steps to pausing: trusting career wellness and building connections to those places in your work (and life) where you feel disconnected. Happy Solstice! I'm sending a wish that you pause in this seasonal transition.
The word Tantra can evoke a lot of different images. It can seem exotic, esoteric, edgy, otherworldly. There are a lot of conflicting messages that make it seem pretty complicated. But my understanding of Tantra is quite simple.Tantra is the awakening and expansion of the love that you are.The art of embodying your love. It's not something you need to seek or strive for. It's in you.Tantra is the practice of remembering that you are love. The practice of locating that love in your body. And cultivating it like a garden. Are you in?Let's dive in!Happy Solstice!

Happy Solstice! As we do every December solstice it's time for our 7th Annual "Best Of" episode of 3 Books. 3 Books is our 22-year-long conversation to uncover and discuss the 1000 most formative books in the world. This year we sat with academics at Oxford to bus drivers in St. Louis, with Jonathan Franzen in Santa Cruz to Oliver Burkeman in the North York Moors, with the world's largest bookseller and Amazon union organizers, with Oscar nominees to a guy who dresses up all day as as a duck. This year I've changed tack and made the "Best Of" highly concentrated—under 50 minutes long!—with little snippets from our diverse guests to provide reflection, provoke your thinking, and help to set intentions for 2025 and beyond. Thank you for being a 3 Booker and spending time with this incredible community of book lovers spread across the world. Let's stop to reflect and then keep enjoying the ride....
Happy Solstice! In this episode, I discuss what mean by solstice-inspired rest, why you should rest over the winter break, how to rest, and what to do if you find rest difficult. Overall, rest can do magic, but takes courage, especially for academics. I have a wish that you practice trusting the process.

This week's notes: Happy solstice! That's the start of the week, and Capricorn season begins! This is honestly going to be a dense week, there's a lot going on. It's a lot to balance, and will require that you are grounded, silently working, and keeping focus in your areas of growth. You can do this. I'm so looking forward to this energy shift. I feel like all of Sagittarius season was lifting us up and out of the Death that scorpio season offered to us- plus Pluto in Aquarius now. The world is about to be looking very different. December 21 starts Capricorn Season- A return of sacredness This whole season is like the hierarchies of our world are finally released from the grips of the underworld. Finally, we are able to breathe again and let the systems be what it is. Capricorn explained as the way that Time and Order shape shift- how the systems and hierarchies change because of that shapeshifting. And, because the sun is in Capricorn it will have to do with self. Check out your 10H, Capricorn House, Saturn placement- and for this year, Saturn is in Pisces. Spiritual shapeshifting abound. We're also going to be seeing how over the previous 17 years we've spiritually shapeshifter into who we want to be AND- probably my favorite thing actually, we'll be able to see spiritually how our work on an individual level has shapeshifter our lineage and ancestry in THE SPIRIT. What legacy are you leaving behind? This season leaves us the answers, not just clues. This season, in application, will also ask that we are shapeshifting into the new year spiritually. Practices, disciplines, etc- it will also ask that we have clarity in the Saturn in Pisces transit that started in March of 2023. What did you start around that time ^, we'e being asked to get clear on wrapping up that transofmraiton and transition for when Saturn enters Aries in 2025. So, larger clarity and direction. SPIRITUAL ACTIVITY WILL BE RAMPANT THIS SEASON. Stay grounded. Remain focused. This is preparation for when Saturn is in Aries and our Order is ruled by War. Dec 20-22 third quarter moon in virgo (check out last week's episode for more info on that)- basics are that we're grounding the disruption from the full moon in Gemini earlier in the week on Sunday. December 23-24 moon in Libra with the Dark Moon and the South Node If this chapter of Libra South Node has asked a lot of you- expect the clearing to become clear during this moon. We're headed into darkness, and the dark moon's involved. If you've been doing your feminine healing work- it's going to be time to reclaim some power in those dark spaces, and apply them as needed. This magic is shifty, silent, and works in ways that cannot be articulated. With the spiritual activity that can be expected for this season, keep awareness of the dark spirits- good or bad- and how you're being influenced by them. This will also help to keep you grounded. December 25-27 moon in scorpio Interesting moon placement with the 25th being symbolic of a time of rebirth.

Happy Solstice! The Solstice portals are always a powerful time for me. A time for reflection and celebration.A time to release and re-align.This Solstice was super special for me as I had the privilege of guiding a group of amazing women in my community through a sensual breathwork journey. It was such a beautiful reminder of just how potent sisterhood can be.Maybe it feels so extra sweet to me because I didn't always feel safe in community with other women.I've heard from so many women who have felt similarly.I feel it's one of the most toxic aliments to come out of the patriarchy. But it doesn't have to be that way.If the sisterhood wound is a such a common affliction. What's the remedy?Women joining together to celebrate the radiance, power and magic of their unique expression of the sacred feminine.Let's dive in!Sign up for The Venusian Summer Series:https://shakticore.com/venusian-summer
Mensimah's Round Table: Conversations with Women of Power and Grace
In this episode, we delve deep into the concept of the Divine Mother, the power of love and provide 7 tips and techniques to tap into the energies of the Divine Mother within. By connecting with the Divine Mother within ourselves, we can access the transformative power of love and compassion, fostering healing and growth in both our personal and collective journeys. Here are some practical tips and techniques to nurture our inner sense of love and care:1. Connect with Nature:Spending time in nature can be a powerful way to connect with the nurturing energy of the Divine Mother. Take walks in the park, sit by a tree, or spend time in a garden. Allow yourself to feel the interconnectedness of all living beings and the healing presence of nature's abundance.2. Practice Self-Compassion:Practice self-compassion by treating yourself with the same kindness and understanding that you would offer to a beloved friend. Be gentle with yourself, acknowledge your worth, and offer yourself forgiveness and grace in moments of struggle or self-doubt.3. Meditation and Reflection:Set aside time for quiet reflection and meditation to connect with your inner Divine Mother. Visualize yourself surrounded by a warm, loving light that nurtures and supports you. Allow yourself to receive this loving energy and extend it outward to others.4. Creative Expression:Engage in creative activities that allow you to tap into your nurturing and expressive energy. Whether it's painting, writing, dancing, or singing, find ways to channel your emotions and connect with your inner source of creativity and love.5. Cultivate Relationships:Nurture your connections with loved ones and cultivate meaningful relationships that embody love, compassion, and understanding. Practice active listening, empathy, and kindness in your interactions with others, fostering a sense of unity and care.6. Practice Self-Love and Self-Care:Prioritize self-love and self-care practices that nurture your mind, body, and spirit. Engage in activities that bring you joy and replenish your energy, such as taking long baths, reading a good book, practicing yoga, or spending time in nature.7. Gratitude Practice:Cultivate a practice of gratitude to acknowledge the blessings in your life and express appreciation for the abundance around you. Take time each day to reflect on the things you are grateful for, fostering a sense of love, contentment, and connection with the divine energy within you.The importance of self-love and self-care in nurturing our inner Divine Mother cannot be overstated. By prioritizing our well-being, setting boundaries, and treating ourselves with kindness and respect, we create the conditions for our inner nurturing energy to flourish. When we care for ourselves with love and compassion, we are better able to extend that love outward to others and embody the transformative power of the Divine Mother in our daily lives.Happy Solstice!Dr. Mensimah Shabazz*Music: Sanctuary of the Goddess by Wizard Azanon (Jeffery St. Rose)*For One on One Consultations: Please send Email to: info@mensimah.comSubscribe/support our channelsJoin our Reflective/Inner Work Platform: https://mensimah.com/compose-a-new-narrativehttps://www.mensimah.com/9-dollar-a-monthContact Links:Website: https://mensimah.comInstagram: @mensimahshabazzphdYouTube: @mensimahsroundtableShop: shop.mensimah.com

Happy Solstice! This episode kicks off the Summer 2024 season. I describe the importance of using the solstice as a natural stepping stone toward your career wellness destination--a time where you can reflect on where you are and where you're going. I offer one strategy to doing seasonal discernment and invite you to try it on for yourself: block off discernment time in your calendar, select a yes/no question about your career wellness destination, open space for answers to emerge, and once you have the answer, make plans to take action in the direction of your answer.

Happy Solstice! At the time of this recording, Yule is officially upon us and Christmas is just days away! This is the time when many of us start thinking that we haven't done “enough”. Extra explicit, extra wild and all in good fun, it's the Witchcast Holiday Astrology Roast! Once the fires have smoldered and mics have dropped, Emily pulls a couple cards from her new Bird Oracle deck for a message as we close out the year and looking into 2024. Do you know how to create peace on earth? According to Mother Mary, it's not by praying for peace, but rather praying FROM peace. Mother Mary taught me how to pray from peace a few years ago and asked me to share it with others, which I have done a few times. But when war broke out in the Holy Land, She asked me to make this teaching more widely available. In this week's episode, not only will I share the ‘Pray FROM Peace Guided Meditation with Mother Mary' with you, but as my holiday gift to you, I have made the mp3 of this meditation available for you to download and keep. Just click here for the show notes. Happy Solstice! Merry Christmas! Belated Happy Hannukah! Happy Kwanza! Happy Everything! “Do not pray for peace, pray FROM peace. Become peaceful, and then expand your peace to the world. The Winter Solstice is almost here! What better time to sit in front of the old yule log, surrounded by fragrant evergreens and mistletoe?! The Christmas season can sometimes feel overwhelming with so much commercialism and fanfare, but the solstice reminds us to slow down, reconnect with nature, and gather with loved ones around a simple, cozy fire. Take some time this season to remember what this sacred time of year has to teach us... even when the cold and dark feels endless, the light will return... trust in that. Happy Solstice! Happy Solstice! Most of us knew John Durham was a political hack. Today, opening his mouth in the House, he removed all doubt; may have even lied under oath. "Lock him up!" Happy Solstice, fam! We're joined by Megan Liebmann in this nourishing convo covering this potent time of year and turning point, as we experience the longest night of the year (in the Northern hemisphere) and move into Capricorn season. We discuss this upcoming Capricorn New Moon and its enhanced ability to bring fresh energy our way, plus how Chiron, the wounded healer, plays into our journey.
