You can build a wildly successful business… and still feel exhausted, confused, or stuck in the same relationship patterns you swore you were done with. In this episode of How to Be Happier for Entrepreneurs, we explore the hidden link between your relationships and your leadership — and why the patterns you repeat at home quietly shape your boundaries, burnout, decision-making, and growth at work. This conversation goes far beyond dating advice or surface-level mindset shifts. It dives into nervous system wiring, childhood conditioning, and identity patterns that drive both how you love and how you lead. You'll learn why chemistry isn't always connection, why familiar doesn't mean healthy, and how your attachment style becomes your leadership style. We'll break down the three most common relationship patterns entrepreneurs fall into, why your nervous system chooses familiarity over alignment, and how to make identity shifts that attract love — and partnerships — that actually support your vision. If your success has been outpacing your happiness… If your relationships feel harder than your business… If you're ready to stop building from survival and start building from alignment… This episode will change how you think about love, leadership, and what it truly takes to feel regulated, supported, and fulfilled — in business and in life. Because the right relationships don't distract you from your purpose. They stabilize your nervous system so your vision can expand. Press play and let's begin. Connect With Us:

Giving a TEDx talk taught me a lot about nervous system regulation, self-trust, and choosing love over control. In a medical culture that rewards certainty and discourages vulnerability, visibility is a nervous system challenge. Standing on a red circle requires staying present when every instinct says to hide. Through the question "What would love do?", this episode offers a grounded framework for decision-making, leadership, and communication that integrates data, values, and human emotion. It is an invitation to choose integrity and presence when outcomes are uncertain and what we carry matters. PEARLS OF WISDOM • The questions we ask shape the answers we receive. Fear-based questions rarely lead us where we want to go. • "What would love do?" is not sentimental or self-sacrificing; it is grounded, honest, and committed to doing no harm, including to ourselves. • Physicians are trained to equate control with safety. • Visibility and vulnerability are nervous system challenges, not character flaws, and they can be practiced with intention. • Choosing love often means choosing discomfort in service of what matters most. Reflection Questions: Where in your life are you trying to manage or control when a different question might bring clarity? What decisions feel heavy right now, and how might they shift if you asked, "What would love do?" Where are you being invited to tolerate discomfort so something meaningful can grow? How might your work, relationships, or leadership change if you asked what love would do? CLOSING INVITATION Giving this TEDx talk deepened my trust in the question that has quietly guided my life and work for years. It reminded me that love stays present even when outcomes are uncertain, and that choosing reach over ease is often part of meaningful contribution. Please listen to the full TEDx talk here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=rRQwr8-ITBQ Please share it and spread love-based decision-making far and wide. It is more needed than ever right now. You sharing the talk is the way it will reach those who really need to hear it. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. We are living in a world that feels increasingly divided. Politics, race, gender, religion, identity — lines are being drawn everywhere, and we're told we have to choose sides. What's harder to admit is that the same separation is happening inside spiritual and conscious communities. People focused on being right. Making others wrong. Using spirituality to divide instead of unite. In this episode, we talk about spiritual unity — not as a concept, but as a daily practice. Unity doesn't mean agreement. It doesn't mean bypassing truth or avoiding hard conversations. It means choosing love without needing superiority. If we want real change in the world, it starts with how we listen, how we speak, and how willing we are to see the humanity in one another — especially when it's uncomfortable. This conversation is an invitation to pause, soften, and remember: Love is not passive. Unity is not weak. And being right has never healed the world. Hey! Thanks for listening! As Christmas approaches, we are turning our focus to love this final week of Advent. In this episode, Karen and Emily unpack what it looks like to love like Jesus in everyday moments: choosing presence, serving quietly, pausing before reacting, and remembering that we love others because Christ first loved us. If the holidays have stretched your patience thin, we hope this conversation will help you refocus your heart on what truly matters! Episode Recap:We're talking about love this week (6:05)How do we respond to God's love practically? (7:55)Loving others looks like not being selfish (8:44)Take an interest in others this Christmas (12:34)Choose presence over perfection (15:54)Speak life with your words (16:31)Pause before you react (18:42)Enjoy simple moments (20:20)Serve quietly (21:15)Focus on gratitude (22:42)Scripture: Philippians 2:1-5 (NIV)“Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus.”Discussion Questions: Why do you think loving others feels harder during the holidays? In what ways do you catch yourself trying to impress others rather than love them?Which part of Philippians 2:1–5 challenges you the most right now? What does “choosing presence over perfection” look like in your home? What is one thing you can do this week to respond with love instead of frustration?Resources:Please give today to help us reach more moms with Wire Talk in 2026!
What if strength isn't something we build for ourselves alone? Inspired by the Grand Portage Band's response to the closure of our local Coast Guard station, this reflection explores how Indigenous wisdom challenges our dominant story of competition, scarcity, and separateness—and invites us into a different way of living, grounded in connection, love, and shared belonging. In a world shaped by fear, division, and self-protection, what does biblical love actually look like?In this Advent message, Choosing Love in a Selfish World, we explore Isaiah's promise of Immanuel—God with us—and discover that God's response to fear is not control or power, but faithful, compassionate presence. Drawing from Scripture, the life of Jesus, and a deeply personal pastoral encounter, this message invites us to see love not as sentiment or comfort, but as courageous presence that refuses to abandon others in vulnerability.Biblical love shows up when answers are unavailable, when fear tempts us to withdraw, and when power feels safer than presence. Advent reminds us that love has already come down—and the question is whether we will choose to live that love now.Scripture: Isaiah 7:10–16 Series: Waking to God's Dream

Feeling disconnected from religion… yet deeply drawn to something more? Curious about Jesus, but blocked by the language, the dogma, or past experiences? This isn't about believing the “right” thing. It's about remembering the truth beneath it all. In this powerful episode, I sit down with spiritual teacher and bestselling author Marianne Williamson to explore Jesus as a mystic, love as a practice, and what spiritual awakening really looks like in modern life.Marianne shares how to move beyond words like God or Jesus if they feel activating, and instead connect with the universal principles that sit at the heart of all true spirituality. We talk about the current state of the world and the inner work it's calling us into, why living your values matters more than preaching them, and how discipline and devotion can become anchors for anxiety and emotional overwhelm. We also explore parenting by embodiment, simple daily practices to stay connected to spirit, and what inspired Marianne's midlife awakening and latest book. If you're yearning for deeper meaning, less fear, and a love-based way of living that feels inclusive and real, this conversation will open something inside you.Head to www.melissaambrosini.com/683 for the show notes.Join my newsletter: www.melissaambrosini.com/newsletterGet my FREE ZenTone Meditation: www.melissaambrosini.com/zentoneFollow me on Instagram: @melissaambrosiniGet Time Magic: www.timemagic.me Hosted on Acast. Josh Harris sits down with author Brian Recker to talk honestly about hell, deconstruction, and what remains when fear-based religion falls apart. Together, they explore the grief of losing religious community, the courage it takes to rethink deeply held beliefs, and why so many people feel spiritually homeless after walking away from traditional evangelical structures.Brian and Josh unpack how the doctrine of hell has shaped Christian mission, identity, and urgency, often at the expense of love, justice, and inclusion. They revisit Jesus' teachings on Gehenna, the “narrow gate,” and the cross, placing them back in their historical context and asking what they actually reveal about God, power, and resistance.About Brian ReckerBrian Recker is a former Marine officer, the son of a Baptist preacher, and a graduate of Bob Jones University. He spent eight years as an evangelical pastor before undergoing a profound deconstruction of his faith and moving toward a more inclusive, love-centered spirituality.Today, Brian speaks openly about following Jesus without fear of hell through his writing and social platforms, including his Substack, Beloved. His book, Hell Bent, challenges one of Christianity's most deeply embedded doctrines and argues that fear has distorted the heart of the gospel. Released on September 30, Hell Bent quickly became a USA Today best-seller.Brian lives in Raleigh, North Carolina, and is a father of four.Connect with BrianSubstack – Beloved: https://brianrecker.substack.com/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/berecker/?hl=enTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@berecker87His book "Hell Bent": https://www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/771172/hell-bent-by-brian-recker/
Send us a textWhat if the end of seeking is a choice you can make today? We dive into a five-line practice that reframes how we meet stress, conflict, and uncertainty: only love is real, you are not the body, I and my Father are one, I am awake and walk this planet as Christ, I choose love over fear. Rather than chasing better outcomes, we practice better perception—using breath, gratitude, and clear decisions to withdraw judgment and end the ego's momentum.Across the hour, we connect mystic insight to lived experience. We unpack how attention shapes reality and why events are neutral until we label them. We explore breath as a direct bridge to spirit—slow, nasal breathing as a signal of safety that makes love's perspective available in real time. Forgiveness shows up as radical self-honesty: owning that our judgments generate suffering and releasing them to recover peace. This is not denial of pain; it is refusing to let pain define identity. We talk through the discomfort of letting go of victimhood, the courage to feel what hurts, and the freedom on the other side.Transformation, here, isn't self-improvement. It's metamorphosis. When we choose love over fear, we stop polishing the caterpillar and grow wings. To make that practical, we build small, repeatable habits: write the mantra, set reminders, curate media inputs, and practice daily—because practice makes permanent. We apply these tools across relationships, money, health, and parenting so that challenges become curriculum rather than proof that life is against us. If nothing real can be threatened, we can meet every moment with steadiness, clarity, and an open heart. If this resonates, hit follow, share with a friend who needs calm today, and leave a quick review on Apple Podcasts. Our good girl programming is built on the certainty that if we follow the rules and keep everyone happy, we'll belong. But what happens when stepping into deeper love and connection also means stepping into the uncertainty that comes with unraveling that conditioning? I want to talk about what feels like the most fundamental truth about being human, and that's love. To me, therapy is love. The work I do is about aligning with what I believe is the fundamental organizing principle of humanity, that we connect to each other through love. Love is a feeling, but it's also an energy, an experience of something beyond us. What some call God or faith or mystery, I call love. Many religious and cultural systems claim to be about God but aren't actually loving in their nature. They're about control, telling people how to live, who to love, what's acceptable. They use fear as an organizing principle. We're just as capable of connecting to love as we are vulnerable to having fear dominate us. Love is about acceptance and allowing, not control. Therapy is often a space where people meet themselves in an environment that accepts and allows who they are without having to contort or conform. That's love. When we feel loved, we blossom. I see love everywhere. In the Springboks, who I believe win not just because of strategy but because Rassie Erasmus leads with love, because the players love each other and South Africa. Not in a nationalistic way, but in a way where our hearts feel warm thinking about this country and each other, even with our differences. I see love in people who've been hurt but stay open, who become loving parents despite their own wounds, who believe another love story might be around the corner. We're naturally loving creatures. We have to be taught to fear. Turn away from anyone who teaches you to live in fear instead of leading with your heart. We reflected on the tension between sin and righteousness, discussing how believers are called to live in the Spirit rather than in the flesh. The discussion explored facing God through prayer, humility, and submission, and how this produces lasting transformation. We emphasized that sin is a choice and that every decision reveals whether we are submitting to the flesh or to Christ. Idol worship was described as arising from a lack of submission and dependence on God, which disconnects us from His grace. Instead, submission to God leads to freedom, restoration, and love.We agreed that spiritual growth involves daily surrender—allowing the Holy Spirit to renew our minds, convict our hearts, and strengthen our will to resist temptation. We also discussed the importance of consistent participation in the local assembly for accountability, encouragement, and spiritual protection. The meeting closed in prayer, thanking God for His mercy and reaffirming our desire to choose love over sin through the power of Christ.Themes:Sin as a choiceSubmission to Christ over the fleshThe importance of spiritual growth and renewalDangers of self-dependence and idolatryConsistent fellowship within the local assemblyReflection Question: Where in my daily life am I still choosing comfort in the flesh instead of surrender to Christ's love and leading?

403 Choosing Love First It's easy to forget that we have free will, that we can choose what we love, what we like, how we choose for others to perceive us. It takes a great deal of self reflection and growth to find the parts of ourselves that are willing to speak up and fight for what we believe in, even if we must speak up and fight against ourselves. In today's episode Sarah Elkins and Edward Simberg discuss everything from how they met, to their deep love of storytelling, to the core beliefs they both hold dear. Highlights How do you live the stories you share? How do your stories reflect your values? Do you put genuine human effort into reaching out to a person? How are your self perceptions skewed? Are you conscious of how you want to be perceived? What is something you want? And what are your next steps in getting there? If you can have foundational love and gratitude your life will change. Quotes “You need to burn that candle a little bit, before you realize how big that fire really is.” “If you want it, it's way more likely that it's going to happen.” “We don't choose our interests, that's one of the most interesting things I've learned lately. We don't really choose our thoughts, we don't really choose our interests, they just come to us.” “Do you think love is a choice?” Dear Listeners it is now your turn, I have a few questions for you: The first is, what is something you say you're not good at and maybe it's time to ask yourself the question, am I not good at it or have I decided not to be good at it? Have I decided not to try? Is it something I call inauthentic when it's actually uncomfortable or I don't like it? The next thing I would love to hear from you about is what was your takeaway? I was thinking about the difference between love and like, and why I feel like love is a more important choice to people and things. Because that will color how you choose happiness as well. And Last, I would love to hear what you are going to do with this one precious life and having conversations -extended conversations- with people in your community. Now, Go. And, as always, thank you for listening. In my work with coaching clients, I guide people to improve their communication using storytelling as the foundation of our work together. What I've realized over years of coaching and podcasting is that the majority of people don't realize the impact of the stories they share - on their internal messages, and on the people they're sharing them with. My work with leaders and people who aspire to be leaders follows a similar path to the interviews on my podcast, uncovering pivotal moments in their lives and learning how to share them to connect more authentically with others, to make their presentations and speaking more engaging, to reveal patterns that have kept them stuck or moved them forward, and to improve their relationships at work and at home. In this solo episode, Mike shifts from his planned recap of the year to address a day that weighs heavily on all our hearts—September 11th. In the wake of tragedy and violence, including the deaths of Charlie Kirk and Iryna Zarutska, Mike reflects on the importance of kindness, empathy, and restoring humanity in our daily lives. This episode is not about politics—it's about people. Mike explores the urgent need for curiosity, respect, and love in a world that often feels divided by hatred, anger, and polarization. He shares his personal commitment to practicing gratitude, showing kindness, and bridging the gaps created by fear, ideology, or difference. Through his message, listeners are encouraged to reflect on how they can contribute to a more peaceful and compassionate world, both locally and globally. Mike reminds us that while we cannot undo the tragedies of the past, we can choose how we act moving forward. Mike expresses his gratitude to his audience for tuning in, honoring the power of connection and the positive impact this show aims to make in every listener's day. And he closes with the spirited words of Buffalo Bills Quarterback Josh Allen: Be Good. Do Good. God Bless. And Go Bills! IN THIS EPISODE: ➡️ How tragic events remind us to practice gratitude, empathy, and respect for others ➡️ Why peace, kindness, and curiosity are actionable choices we can make every day ➡️ The importance of emphasizing human connection over politics or ideology ➡️ Why gratitude and connection are central to leaving a positive impact on others' lives
In this one-off message, Pastor Nate discuss hate and love.
In this episode, I open up about a challenging family situation that arose while clearing out my parents' home after my mother's passing and my father's move to an elderly home. What should have been a process of sharing memories became a source of tension, disappointment, and hurt.Instead of staying trapped in anger or continuing the cycle of reacting and counter-reacting, I explore how to step back, process the emotions, and choose a different response. Through meditation, journaling, and silence, I found my way back to calm and forgiveness. This story isn't about blame—it's about learning how to break old family patterns and becoming a role model for the next generation. It's about showing our children that even when we feel deeply hurt, we can choose peace, forgiveness, and love, and carry light into our families.BOOKS:
We were reminded that God is the faithful foundation of our lives, the One who never changes even as everything around us shifts. We reflected on the sufficiency of His Word and the assurance that His promises hold us steady. Through prayer, thanksgiving, and reflection on Scripture, we were encouraged to remain steadfast, discerning, and grounded in truth as we await the Lord's return.

On this August 25th episode, join your host Hunter as we journey through day 237 of our year-long trek through the pages of Scripture. Today, we dive into the dramatic account of Jeremiah chapters 37 through 39, witnessing King Zedekiah's struggle with pride and fear as Jerusalem faces the Babylonian invasion—and how Jeremiah stands firm amid adversity. Our reading wraps up with the heartfelt encouragement found in Second John, reminding us of the call to truth and love in the face of life's challenges. Through reflection and prayer, Hunter invites us to examine our own hearts, learn from the faith and failings of those before us, and embrace the grace, mercy, and steadfast love of God as we close out the summer season. Settle in, quiet your heart, and let's draw closer to the Living Word together. TODAY'S DEVOTION: Blinded by pride and fear, Zedekiah's fate stands as a stark warning for us all. He could not hear or see the word of the Lord spoken through Jeremiah, and instead clung tightly to his own life, his own position, his own fears. In the end, everything he was so desperate to avoid came to pass—his sight was taken away, his freedom lost, and he became a captive, led away just as Jeremiah had faithfully prophesied. Pride and fear—they make for harsh and cruel masters. Zedekiah's story is one of gradually yielding to their grip, turning a deaf ear to repeated invitations into a better, truer way of life. When we allow pride or fear to rule in us, we too lose sight; we become prisoners of our own anxious striving, our own need to control or be right. But in today's reading from Second John, we hear another way—a way marked by grace, mercy, and truth. John encourages us to abide in love, not allowing anything to stand in the way of the life Christ has given us. He calls us to be diligent, to watch out that we do not lose what we have received by remaining in the teaching of Christ, by remembering the profound love God has for us and letting it shape every step we take. It is only in God's love that we find sight, freedom, and true reward. As we root ourselves in the truth of the gospel, as we let go of our pride and release our fears, we are ever being freed from the blindness that once gripped us. There is more to see, more freedom to taste, and more love to share, for those who walk in faith and trust in Jesus. That's my prayer for my own soul today—that I would recognize and reject the voices of pride and fear in my life. That is my prayer for my family—my wife, my daughters, my son. And that is my prayer for you: that you would walk in God's love, see with clear eyes, and experience the fullness of mercy and grace that is yours in Christ. May it be so. TODAY'S PRAYERS: Lord of heaven and earth, you have awakened us in your mercy once more. Still our anxious minds, quiet our striving hearts and help us to rest in the knowledge that we are held by you. May we walk in step with your spirit today, not ahead, not behind, but beside you in trust and love through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. O God of all peoples, you formed every soul in your image and breathed life into every heart. Open the eyes of the nations. Soften hearts grown cold. And teach us to live as neighbors and friends. Let your spirit move in power. Renew the face of the earth and usher in your reign of peace. Amen. And now, Lord, let me be a bearer of your peace. Where voices divide, let me speak grace. Where fear takes root, let me plant trust. Where the world rushes on, let me walk with you. May I seek not to climb but to kneel. Not to win, but to love. Not to grasp, but to give. For it is in emptying that we are filled, in surrender that we are strengthened and in union with you that we find our truest joy. Amen. And now, as our Lord has taught us, we are bold to pray: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen. OUR WEBSITE: www.dailyradiobible.com We are reading through the New Living Translation.
