Horror Hill: A Horror Anthology and Scary Stories Series Podcast
Home is supposed to be a place of safety, a refuge from the unknown. But what happens when the true horror isn't lurking outside—it's inside, beneath your feet, behind a locked door, or staring back at you from across the dinner table? In this unnerving episode of Horror Hill, host Erik Peabody presents two tales that explore the terror of the familiar turned foreign. A man's quiet inheritance becomes an obsession he can't escape, and another discovers that the person he trusts most may not be who—or what—she seems. Send me a DM here (it doesn't let me respond), OR email me: imagineabetterworld2020@gmail.comToday I'm honored to have back on the show once again for another incredible episode: Satanic and masonic ritual abuse and mind control survivor and whistleblower, YouTuber and content creator on her own YouTube channel and Substack at the handle @MayanMissions, first generational New Zealander, credentialed counselor with a specialization in Narrative Therapy, communication skill small group training course facilitator, traditional herbal medicine advocate, retreat co-facilitator, and healing warrior, our beloved podcast regular: sweetest Poppy Joy. In case you missed Poppy's first episode where she shared her harrowing, inspiring, and miraculous testimony, here's a brief recap: Poppy is a satanic and masonic ritual abuse survivor who was born into a multi-generational incest-based family and has recently been liberated from an immense amount of trauma that her body was struggling to contain anymore. Her memories started to surface in 2017 from a few triggers in her surroundings, including: a vicious semi-wild dog on the loose, a jellyfish sting that gave her a histamine reaction where her entire body was covered in a rash, and swollen lips and other orifices. Poppy's earliest memories were related to her senses - she remembered that her eyesight and hearing never developed normally and discovered that her perceptions have been energetic - meaning that she can observe the movement of energy, experience telepathy, and with focus, she can see how black magic practices are done. Poppy also discovered that rituals are done to empower government legislation. She found how consciousnesses are connected to calendars and astrological systems and that rituals are performed with dates and planetary alignments. Sweetest and accomplished Poppy Joy has a degree in Counseling, has specialized in Narrative Therapy, has training as a small group facilitator teaching communication skills and courses such as “Changes that Heal”, has studied traditional herbal medicine during cancer/Morgellons treatments, and was a retreat co-facilitator prior to 2017 when her memories started to crowd in. At the time her memories started pouring in, she was not able to tend to other's lives while her own life needed so much attention. If you've been following along Poppy's journey, you see how fearless she is in her sharing. On this podcast alone, she's discussed everything from satanic rituals, MK ULTRA programming, ancient and lost Mayan knowledge, understanding and healing from trauma, cancer and heart-attacks, her journey through therapy with the wonderful Marie Freeman, and so much more. Today, Poppy is back to discuss some additional topics we haven't covered in depth before that are relevant right now including: the UAP / UFO / Alien and NHI phenomena and agenda that's interestingly enough been splattered all over mainstream media and how to avoid the overwhelm of this information overload we are receiving, more about her healing journey and memories, the Pyramid of Consciousness, how survivors share the truth about the whole world agenda, and so much more… CONNECT WITH POPPY:YouTube: @MayanMissions - https://www.youtube.com/@MayanMissionsSubstack: https://substack.com/profile/109233143-poppy-joy?utm_source=global-searchCONNECT WITH THE IMAGINATION:EMAIL: imagineabetterworld2020@gmail.comMy Substack: https://emmakatherine.substack.com/BUY ME A COFFEE: Support the show
Chapter 1: Summary of The Echo Maker"The Echo Maker" is a novel by Richard Powers that revolves around themes of identity, memory, and the nature of self. The story is primarily set in Nebraska and follows the life of Mark Schluter, a young man who survives a near-fatal car accident that leaves him with a rare neurological condition known as Capgras syndrome, where he believes his loved ones have been replaced by impostors. After the accident, Mark's sister, Karin, comes to care for him and helps in his recovery. However, as Mark struggles to reconcile his fragmented memories and altered perception of reality, the relationship between him and Karin becomes strained. The novel delves into the complexities of the human brain and the ways in which memory shapes our understanding of who we are.Throughout the narrative, Powers incorporates themes of science, nature, and the influence of the environment on personal identity. The story also reflects on the broader implications of technology and modernity, ultimately exploring the essence of human connection and the quest for understanding oneself in the face of disorientation. As Mark's condition becomes a lens through which to examine the nature of reality and the bonds of familial love, "The Echo Maker" presents a poignant meditation on the fragility of identity and the enduring search for meaning amidst chaos.Chapter 2: The Theme of The Echo Maker"The Echo Maker" by Richard Powers is a complex novel that weaves together themes of identity, memory, and the nature of reality through the lives of its characters. Below are some key plot points, character developments, and thematic ideas explored in the book: Key Plot Points:1. Accident and Amnesia: The story begins with a tragic accident involving the protagonist, Mark Schluter, who suffers a severe brain injury after a car crash. This incident sets off the chain of events that explores memory and identity.2. Capgras Syndrome: Following his recovery, Mark develops Capgras Syndrome, a psychological condition in which he believes that his family members have been replaced by impostors. This condition drives the central conflict of the narrative as Mark struggles to reconcile his feelings about his sister, Karin, and his perception of reality.3. Karin's Journey: Karin, Mark's sister, takes on the role of caretaker. Her own journey involves grappling with her brother's strange new behaviors and her need to understand the changes he has undergone. Through her perspective, readers gain insight into familial love, loyalty, and the strain of caring for someone with a mental condition.4. The Investigation: The character of Dr. Gerald Haddley, a neuroscientist, is introduced as he attempts to study Mark's condition. Haddley's work brings a scientific perspective to the narrative and raises questions about ethics in neuroscience and the understanding of the human brain.5. Nature vs. Nurture: The novel also touches on the interplay between genetics (nature) and life experiences (nurture) in shaping identity, particularly through the lens of Mark's condition.6. Resolution: The climax revolves around Mark's gradual acceptance of his condition and the transformation in the relationship between him and Karin. The ending leaves some questions unanswered, emphasizing the complexities of memory and personal truth. Character Development:- Mark Schluter: His character arc is central to the exploration of identity. Initially, Mark is portrayed as vibrant and dynamic, but the accident transforms him, controlling his perceptions and emotions. As the story progresses, he grapples with both his condition and his understanding of self.- Karin Schluter: Karin develops from a protective sister into a multidimensional character, facing her personal demons and desires while attempting to support her...

Discover the 20 Virtues for Acquiring Divine Knowledge Through Krishna's Grace as we explore Krishna's teachings in the Bhagavad Gita, specifically verses 13.13 to 13.19. In these powerful verses, Krishna reveals the essence of true knowledge and the virtues needed to attain it, including humility (amānitvam), reverence, and purity of heart. These virtues, He explains, are vital for those seeking to understand Brahman, the infinite reality beyond form and perception. This episode highlights Krishna's emphasis on bhakti (devotion) and the grace needed to truly comprehend divine wisdom. Knowledge alone is not enough; it is through the grace of Krishna that seekers can gain insight into the mysteries of existence and reach the ultimate state of realization. The podcast also draws insights from the Upanishads, showing how Krishna's guidance aligns with timeless spiritual principles that go beyond intellectual understanding. Krishna encourages us to look within, finding His presence in our hearts and aligning our actions with these 20 essential virtues. With parallels to modern scientific concepts, like quantum mechanics, this episode offers an enlightening perspective on the balance between intellect and spiritual grace. Perfect for those on a spiritual journey or anyone interested in Vedantic wisdom, self-discovery, and divine grace, this discussion brings Krishna's teachings to life in a way that inspires devotion and deep reflection. krsnadaasa
BG 2 56 2 57 STHITAPRAJNA'S RESPONSE TO DUALITIES HG Chaitanya Charan Prabhuji by Exploring mindfulness, yoga and spirituality
So there's a conversation with Prabhupada and John Lennon and Yoko Ono. Prabhupada is explaining how this is the pinnacle of all speech. Yoko asks, “So why need we say anything else? Why don't we just say Hare Krishna?” Of course, we have our ordinary dealings through which, uh, by which we deal with the world and take care of our bodies and so forth. But ultimately, one who's chanting Hare Krishna has some realization that this is worthwhile. How worthwhile is it? Well, there are details that the sages have gone into, that just by chanting Hare Krishna, everything else is available to you. All energies are synchronized in one place because you're going to the source. So this is the idea behind taking the effort to repeat the mantra over and over again. It's the supreme combination of syllables, and what's more, it's non-different from Krishna. So it gives us contact with the source. Everything that we've ever looked for, wanted, is there within our relationship with Krishna. Author and broadcast journalist, Ray Suarez, born into a Puerto Rican family newly settled in New York City in the 1950s, speaks with Andrew Keen about American immigrant experiences in the late 20th and 21st centuries. Extolled as a welcoming democracy built by immigrants, they were both hailed and despaired over - needed for labor and growth but feared for the different cultures they brought to the country. Invoking both personal and broad societal reflections, Suarez describes the historic tension in the powerful American immigrant dream between reality and mythology: aspirations and acceptance sort after by unwanted outsiders.

For this cycle's "Mise-Unseen" entry, Madeline, Emilio and Julian finally pony up for Apple TV Plus subscriptions and see 'CODA', Sian Heder's 2021 Best Picture winning film. Like the Joni Mitchell classic at the heart of this film, the trio can't help but see both triumphantly good and puzzlingly frustrating aspects to 'CODA'. For all the powerful and winning scenes with the Rossi family (that scene on the pickup truck!), there are clunky and shallow ones with most every other peripheral character. For all the great ways this film centers and empowers its deaf actors and main characters, it also short changes the viewer with an overly predictable narrative. And this group of musicians can't help but weigh in on the music plot line. From up and down, and still somehow, there is genuine appreciation for this film, but not without some nits to pick. In this thought-provoking episode of The Light Inside, we explore the complexities of neophobia—an unhealthy fear of the unknown—and how it can paralyze us from embracing new experiences and opportunities for growth. Change-leading catalyst Jamie Meyer joins the conversation to unravel the psychological mechanisms that underpin this irrational fear and how it can hinder our ability to form new routines and perspectives. Throughout our conversation, we examined the processes necessary to embrace new possibilities and open our minds to the richness of our diverse experiences. Jamie, and I discussed the subconscious bias of the comfort zone, as coined by business theorist Alasdair White, and how it can limit personal growth by keeping us rooted in familiarity. The episode touched on mental heuristics like the status quo bias, which drives our preference for consistency and an adverse fear of risk, and how these subconscious patterns can become liabilities to our well-being. Jamie Meyer shared her insights on the importance of recognizing and engaging with healthy fear and risk to move beyond reluctance towards new experiences. She emphasized the need to navigate the distress often felt during uncertainty and how her work helps clients through this process. Tune in to gain insights on transforming unhealthy fear and embracing more diverse pathways to change. Timestamps: [00:01:35] Comfort zone, healthy psychological safety, and personal growth. Slam the Gavel welcomes guest Tim Goldich, an author who has devoted the last thirty years to researching, pondering, and writing a four-book series on gender issues. The first book—Loving Men, Respecting Women: The Future of Gender Politics—was published in 2011 and is available on Amazon.com. The second book—Equal Partners: The History of Gender Equality—is due out in 2023. He has also created a series of YouTube videos under the umbrella title of “Man Against the Wall.” He was last on the podcast Season 4, Episodes 32, 58, 80 and 120. Tim talked about comparing Misogyny and Misandry and how gender politics have a very negative outlook. Misogyny is the hostile environment that targets women and the the lack of respect for women. Misandry is the hostility that targets men and the lack of love and respect toward men. We talked about the fundamental dualities such as order versus chaos, and love versus truth. What would the world look like under gender equalism and why can't men and women work together? We further discussed how there are more personality disorders prevalent today than years ago and explaining a comparison to steroid abuse to anorexia. Men and women mirror each other and there is a need for gender politics to equal it out in the end. We took an in-depth look at how gender politics would work under Gender Equalism. To Reach Tim Goldich: tagoldich@hotmail.com and on Facebook, "We Are Gender Equalists"This episode of Slam the Gavel is sponsored by CPSprotect Consulting Services. As an Afro-Caribbean woman, I've had to navigate multiple worlds beyond my comfort and rarely with enough language. When I fell into a dark space at the end of 2022, I was lost and couldn't understand why. Coming out of that moment, changed me. It changed how I viewed myself and the people, places, and things I interacted with. This solo episode serves as a preview of the nuanced journey I take my guests on, as they open up about their experience navigating their Blackness in various spaces. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/blacknuancedpod/support
