Before working for the Houston Astros he completed an internship with Cressey Sports Performance in Hudson, Massachusetts.     In this episode we talk with Zach Farrel who is the Assistant Director of Sports Performance at the University of Louisville. Zach works primarily with the baseball at U of L and has been voted Gatorade Strength and Conditioning Coach of the year.  We review some of the following questions: What is the one thing that has changed the most in your program over the last year? What are the standards that Louisville Baseball has in the weight room?  What is the biggest separator between a good team and a great team? and much more! 


    Nick Otte joined UCF Baseball in July of 2018. Otte will be responsible for overseeing the progress and development of the pitchers on the UCF staff.Through Otte's guidance, three of the Knights pitchers are currently in the MiLB. Jordan Spicer was drafted by the Colorado Rockies, Garrett Westburg was drafted by the Seattle Mariners and Andy Rohloff was drafted by the San Francisco Giants. All three players are assigned to the Single-A Short team.Otte has guided 17 draft picks over his 15-year coaching career. In 2017, pitcher Zac Lowther became the highest draft pick in Xavier history as the 74th selection in Compensatory Round B. Otte has five top-10 round draft picks to his credit.Otte arrived in Orlando after spending nine seasons on staff at Xavier, where he served as the pitching coach and recruiting coordinator. He was promoted to associate head coach prior to the 2018 campaign. The Musketeers were three-time Big East champions and reached the NCAA Tournament 2014, 2016, 2017.During his tenure with the Musketeers, Otte shepherded some of the best pitching staffs in program history. Xavier posted six of its ten best staff ERAs during his time in Cincinnati, Ohio. The 2012 season featured the third lowest ERA in school history at 3.87. Other top marks came in 2013 (3.95), 2011 (4.25), 2014 (4.47), 2017 (4.50) and 2016 (4.57).The Muskateers set the single-season school record for strikeouts with 461 in 2017, led by Zac Lowther's school record 123 punchouts in 83 1/3 innings.Prior to joining Xavier, Otte spent three seasons on staff at Miami in charge of the outfielders, as well as implementing a strength and power program for the pitching staff. He spent two seasons Georgetown College (2005-2006), after getting his coaching start at IPFW from 2003 to 2004.During the summers of 2002 and 2004, Otte was a head coach and pitching instructor at IMG Academies in Bradenton, Fla.Otte was a four-year letterman at Indiana.     Tanner Allen

    Tanner Allen serves as a Physical Therapist (DPT) and Strength Coach (CSCS) alongside Eric Schoenberg at Diamond Physical Therapy. Tanner brings an innovative vision for the future of rehabilitation through sports performance training. As highlighted by injury prevention strategies and guidance following injury or surgery for highly motivated individuals both in the general setting and elite sports. His diverse background allows for individualized treatments along a continuum of care designed to decrease symptoms, improve function, and performance.Tanner‘s interest includes understanding his patient's unique circumstances, journey, and future goals. Using multiple lenses to assess patients in combination with manual therapy both soft tissue and joint-specific in regards to limitations. Utilizing optimal loading and synergy with high-performance training through regressions and progressions based on the individual's needs.Tanner has spent most of his early life devoted to this field of study and surrounding himself with like-minded colleagues. Like many former athletes, he found himself constantly in the training room which forced him to learn about the human body and he found his lifelong passion. His love for sports in particular baseball brought him to CSP Florida where he most recently completed a strength & conditioning internship following grad school.     Pat is a close friend and has been my business mentor for the last 8+ years. While he is one of the top business professionals in the world he was also a college baseball coach for Shawnee State University from 1995-2002, amassing a record of 195-88. From 1995-1997 Pat was the youngest collegiate head coach in the country. During his tenure his team finished in the top 25 nationally 4 seasons with a 5th Place Finish at the 2000 NAIA World Series.     Nick is a native of Cincinnati, Ohio. He was a graduate from National University of Health Sciences in 2015. Before attending chiropractic school Dr. Rohlfs graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 2011 where he played baseball for the Bearcats for four years and majored in Biology. Dr. Rohlfs attended Archbishop Moeller High School and graduated from there in 2007. He has a hands on approach with each patient using techniques of myofascial release. He will also tailor an exercise program for each patient to help alleviate and strengthen weakened musculature causing the patients pain. Dr. Rohlfs is full body certified in Active Release Technique and is now certified in dry needling. Dr. Rohlfs is also certified in Titleist Performance Institute, which is extremely beneficial for golfers ranging from high school --> pro or just your everyday amatuer. Dr. Rohlfs has been a consulting physician for the Cincinnati Reds for the past 5 years. He also works with many of the Cincinnati Bengals as well as Moeller High School, Wyoming High School and Madeira High School.Dr. Rohlfs and his wife, Grace, have two beautiful daughters, Larken and Tenleigh.

    Dr. Will Cornett graduated from New York Chiropractic College and was awarded the prestigious D.D. Palmer Award for his work in educating the public about chiropractic and helping athletes in the community. He was an honor student and played basketball at St. John Fisher College, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He has advanced training in Active Release Technique® (ART), which is a highly effective soft tissue injury technique. Dr. Cornett holds a post graduate certification in Sports Science and Human Performance, he is certified with Rocktape®, where he completed the Functional Movement Taping (FMT) level 1 and 2 courses and he has completed several courses with the Motion Palpation Institute. He holds a TPI certification from the Titleist Performance Institute and regularly treats golfers and administers golf assessment screens. He has also studied Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS) with the Prague School of Rehabilitation. He has extensive experience working with athletes and has worked several athletic events including the 2016 US Open at Oakmont Country Club, Crossfit® competitions, 5k races and triathlons. Dr. Cornett enjoys the outdoors, working out and spending time with family and friends.
