Clean energy isn't just good for the planet, it's good for your wallet. Solar and wind are now the cheapest power sources in history. But too many politicians would rather protect billionaires than help working families save on their bills. Real change starts when we stop allowing the ultra - rich to write our energy policy and run our government. Let's choose affordable, renewable power. Clean energy means lower costs, more freedom, and a planet that can actually breathe. Promote Celtic culture through music at http://celticmusicpodcast.com/. IRISH & CELTIC MUSIC PODFEST AND ARTS MARKET This is a one - day music festival and arts market that will take place on Sunday, March 8, 2026 at The Lost Druid Brewery in Avondale Estates, GA, 15 minutes from downtown Atlanta. There are four bands performing at the festival. I am performing one show solo and one show with May Will Bloom, where my daughter takes the lead. Kinnfolk will join us as well as I mentioned last week. But the final band performing at the festival is a 3 - piece version of The Muckers, our local Celtic punk band. That will complete our lineup. Follow our event page on Facebook for more details. Or Follow us for Free on our Patreon page. Now my next goal is to raise $2500 so that all of the bands are paid a decent wage and to promote our first - ever Celtic festival. To that end, I added three new rewards for Kickstarter. Each is a chance to sponsor individual bands at the festival. When you do, you'll get one of the first album pins from each of these amazing Celtic bands. That's because we are highlighting album pins at the festival as well, as another means to promote the music of bands. Our album pins are wooden lapel pins themed to a particular album released by a band. The buyer gets a digital download of the album, then they can wear their album! There's just 8 days left on this Kickstarter. So please make a pledge to support Celtic culture through music. THANK YOU PATRONS OF THE PODCAST! Because of you, this podcast exists. Because of your generosity, we release new episodes almost every week. You make that possible. Truly. Your support does more than pay the bills. It keeps Celtic music moving forward. It helps us share this music with listeners all over the world. It helps grow a global Celtic community. Your patronage covers everything behind the scenes. Audio editing. Artwork. This episode tells the remarkable story of Duke Kahanamoku, one of the most important cultural and sports figures to ever come out of Hawaii and the subject of the documentary The Waterman. Bill Pratt, champion swimmer, outrigger canoe paddler, and Cultural Advisor with the Outrigger Duke Kahanamoku Foundation along with The Waterman director Isaac Halasima discuss Duke's enduring influence, the true meaning of aloha, and what it means to honor a cultural icon with respect and intention. This episode is brought to you by Villa Carina Apartments in beautiful Bonaire. Note: Tech Glitch -- My Audio is not the cleanest, Sorry! Guests came out great. (Luckily I don't talk a lot!) In this episode, we catch up with Josh Ku and Dane Wilson, accomplished foilers, surfers, and creatives pushing the boundaries of ocean adventures. Joining Luc from their respective locations amid busy travel schedules, Josh and Dane recount their daring foil crossing from Uluwatu in Bali to the iconic G-Land in Java, the raw survival moments that unfolded, and the making of their film "The Strait Path." From near-disasters at sea to epic surf sessions on a vintage Jerry Lopez board, they dive into the spirit of exploration, the Waterman ethos, and the thrill of turning an uncharted journey into a captivating story.Episode Highlights:- Origins of the Idea: Josh and Dane discuss how the project sparked from shared creative vibes, Josh's inspiration from Dane's prior adventure film with Zane, and the goal to blend foiling with classic surfing in Indonesia's wild waters—pitching a high-stakes crossing that aligned perfectly with swell and wind forecasts.- Planning and Launch: The duo reflects on committing to the trip just a week out, Josh's background in downwinding and island traversals, and Dane's hands-off approach to filming, relying on a support boat for safety and shots in an unpredictable ocean playground.- The Crossing Drama: A deep dive into the 92km foil journey turning chaotic—getting off course, the boat snagging debris and vanishing, Josh navigating solo by wind, watch, and stars while battling dehydration, currents, and wildlife, and Dane's tense hour-plus search feeling utterly isolated without comms.- Survival and Reunion: Josh shares the mental shift to survival mode, ignoring ground swell to follow wind direction, spotting whales and debris, and the massive relief of reuniting; Dane recounts the crew's frantic scans, aligning rescue plans, and capturing the emotional finale with jungle backdrops.- Surfing Legacy at G-Land: Wrapping the adventure with perfect waves, Josh riding a single-fin Jerry Lopez Lightning Bolt board for a bucket-list tube session, paying homage to surf pioneers like Lopez and McCabe, and how it tied into the film's theme of exploration beyond crowded breaks.- Filmmaking Challenges: Dane opens up on the pressure to capture the trip's raw magic in editing—focusing on audio, story flow, and visuals without over-stylizing—while emphasizing the foil as a tool for adventure, not the sole focus, in a nod to historical ocean tales.- Reflections and Growth: Insights on embracing uncertainty, learning from mishaps like inadequate safety plans, the addictive "have a go" spirit of true adventure, and how the experience reinforced their Waterman perspectives without modern tech crutches.- Premieres and Next Horizons: Details on upcoming screenings in Sydney (November 7, 2025, at Collaroy Cinema) and potential LA showings, plus teases for future collaborations blending Josh's athletic pushes and Dane's filmmaking prowess.Follow Josh - https://www.instagram.com/joshku/Follow Dane - https://www.instagram.com/dane___wilson/

Daniel Waterman, 22, died earlier this month after suffering injuries in a car crash in Flagler County, Florida last February. Who is the greatest waterman? Few, if any, truly do as many disciplines of “watersports” as well as Noah does them. Wakeboarding, wake surfing, foiling (wake and ocean), surfing, kiting, and even diving and fishing, Noah seems to know his way around them all. Episode 242
Guy Bridge is one of the UK's most talented and pioneering watermen — a professional kitesurfer and foil surfer from Exmouth, Devon, known for pushing the limits of wind and wave performance. Raised in a family of world-class kitesurfers, Guy has been carving through the air and sea since his early teens, quickly building a name on the international circuit for his technical precision, fearless riding style, and calm, analytical mindset on the water. From racing at world-class speed events to gliding silently across glassy swells on his foil, Guy represents the next evolution of surf and wind sports. Whether he's talking training, competition mindset, or the feeling of complete freedom that comes from harnessing wind and water as one — Guy's story is all about flow, focus, and living a life built around the ocean. When he's not competing or coaching, you'll find him exploring new breaks, fine-tuning foil setups, and chasing that perfect connection between power, glide, and silence. Adz and Guy sit down and chat about his experiences and froth for riding the oceans waves.

It was April 1st, 1981, when Johnny Waterman, a 29 year old brilliant climber and haunted soul, set out from the Mountain House deep in the Ruth Glacier of Denali National Park. His goal was the East Buttress of Denali, approached via the northwest fork of the Ruth - an audacious, almost impossible route in the winter. He carried remarkably little: a sled, snowshoes, not much food, and wands to mark his route. No tent, no sleeping bag. He told a fellow climber he believed he could manage with minimal gear. He was last seen somewhere around 11,000 feet - cutting a straight line through a labyrinth of crevasses and snow chutes. Then…. He vanished. Listen as we dive into Alaska, the case of Johnny Waterman, and how to stay alive on vacation. Do you have a story to share? What do we really know about Elizabeth Boleyn, Countess of Wiltshire and mother of Anne Boleyn? Until now, she's been little more than a shadow in history — remembered only as the wife of Thomas Boleyn and the mother of Anne, Mary, and George. But in a groundbreaking new biography, historian Sophie Bacchus-Waterman uncovers Elizabeth's real story: her career at court, her influence, and her role in one of Tudor England's most ambitious families. In this exclusive interview, I talk with Sophie about: - Why Elizabeth has been so overlooked in Tudor history - The surprising discoveries made during her research - How Elizabeth shaped the rise of the Boleyns - Whether she's been unfairly judged in fiction and history - And what this biography reveals about Anne Boleyn's world. Sophie's new book: Elizabeth Boleyn: The Life of the Queen's Mother is the very first biography of this fascinating woman, and it shines a long-overdue light on her life and legacy. Kalani Vierra is what I consider modern “Hawaiian Royalty.” He looks and acts the part everyday and in every way. The list of what he does and how he does it is incredible. He is a renowned waterman in his personal and professional worlds and the lines between the two are very much blurred; this is who he is. And he is as cool, humble, dedicated, determined, authentic and as compelling a leader as they come. Professionally, Kalani is a 25+ year lifeguard, the Kauai Ocean Safety Bureau Chief, a renowned Hawaiian waterman, a personal watercraft risk management trainer, active member of the Water Safety Task Force for both the State of Hawai'i and the island of Kauai. And… He is also a board member of the Hawaiian Lifeguard Association (HLA), Program Director of Kauai's Jr. Lifeguards, Pacific Island representative for the United States Lifesaving Association (USLA). He trains elite military personnel in ocean rescue. He has won The USLA Waterman of the Year, the Eddie Aikau Waterman of the Year award, the Hawaiian Lifeguard Associations Waterman of the Year award and was inducted into the Hawaiian Waterman Hall of Fame. He has won multiple tandem surfing world championships, he paddles big water and both surfs and foils massive waves. And… maybe most importantly, Kalani is an incredible role model and leader; in and out of the water.
John is joined by Alan and Tim to break down recent roster moves that saw Carlos Terán leave the club for a reported fee of $2M while Canadian International Joel Waterman joins as Terán's replacement. Waterman joins from CF Montréal for $500k GAM.https://meninred97.com/what-waterman-teran-deals-mean-for-the-chicago-fires-roster/

Put Kanesa in the ocean and she's home… both in sport and in her professional world where she has her PhD in marine biology; so she is actually Dr. Kanesa… but don't call her that. =) She is host and producer of the award winning Voice of the Sea TV program which, through compelling storytelling and breathtaking visuals, highlights pressing issues such as climate change, pollution, and habitat loss, fostering a greater awareness of the challenges our oceans face. She is director at the Hawai‘i Sea Grant Center for Marine Science Education which is dedicated to building partnerships that enhance marine science education at all levels in order to encourage understanding of the environment and the role of humans in it. Kanesa has been inducted into the Hawaiian Waterman Hall of Fame, which is an incredibly well earned recognition for her incredible athletic and professional contributions and accomplishments in and on the ocean.
