Lured Up Podcast 396 Live Streamed on - 6/9/2026 Publish Date - 6/12/2026 To all the new listeners: WELCOME and THANK YOU for checking out LURED UP! We are back home from GO Fest Chicago and we are both in agreement that this was the best IRL GO Fest that we have ever attended. There is plenty to unpack to back up our sentiment, beginning with how the introduction of different gameplay “Districts” put you right into the gameplay, as soon as you stepped off the plane. It was an amazing feeling to have the event come to life as soon as arriving in Chicago, and the barrage of geo-based Timed Research kept Trainers tied to their games as the grind through a flurry of tasks. Even moving from the airport to our hotel kept us immersed in the game, making the gameboard come to life. If really make Trainers feel like they were looking at an in-game world map at their feet. The geo fencing of districts paired with associated Timed Research had players covering a serious amount of territory. If this is any indication of how IRL events can curate and shape real life gameplay behaviors, than this is just the tip of a very exciting iceberg. We had a full weekend of gameplay, including countless Raids and an insane amount of walking. Both of our Adventure Sync numbers were above 120km. In typical Lured Up fashion, we had stuff going on all weekend. On Friday nights we hosted our meetup at Monk's Pub, the same place as our 2019 meetup. You all SHOWED UP and we had double the turnout than we expected, and we are so grateful to have been able to spend time with all of you. Next year we will need a new venue! Saturday night was Adam's idea, with a Pokémon themed Pop-Punk night. All of the bands on the bill were incredible, with Midway Down headlining and absolutely brought the house down. It was so much fun to hang with the community in that setting. We will absolutely be incorporating live music/entertainment into our plans next year! Finally on Friday we met up with our good friend JT Valor for a final push of Raids at the end of the weekend. In typical Raid Train Fashion, we ended up picking up Trainers at every stop. It was VERY cool to see JT in action. He gives so much of himself to his fans and spends heaps of time with everyone. JT's combination of hardcore gameplay, travel, and approachability is PGO video content at its best. In typical live-service fashion, it seemed that about as soon as we stepped on the airplane to come home, new news was dropping about the events happening through the end of the month. We blast through the news and cover all of the new event info released post-Chicago. Talking Trek is BACK, and this episode comes packed with emotional updates, ridiculous comedy, and a massive Star Trek Fleet Command economy discussion. We start with server sound-off, the return of Talking Trek Stupid News, and a deeply questionable investigation into Demolition Man and the legendary three seashells. DJ also shares the personal story of Oliver's recent hospital emergency, the children's hospital team that helped him recover, and why child life programs matter so much. Then we dive into STFC with a full breakdown of Voyage Across the Void, the new weekly event structure, officer shard math, platinum concerns, battle pass changes, the mythic track, and what all of this may mean for the future of Fleet Command's economy. Is Voyage Across the Void a better system? Is the mythic battle pass worth it? Is G7 too expensive? Is Fleet Command finally trying to reset years of broken math, or did they just hand the player base a calculator and a headache? Let's talk about it. Download, stream, argue, laugh, and bring your spreadsheets. This one has feelings, math, mullets, and mild economic panic.   0:56 Welcome Back to Talking Trek Live 3:32 Bulk Claim Grief, Chicago Blame, and Sports Ball Confusion 8:23 Talking Trek Stupid News Returns 17:54 Demolition Man, the Three Seashells, and Maya's Diagnostic Failure 22:12 Where We've Been: Oliver's Hospital Story 31:21 Child Life, Therapy Dogs, and Gratitude for Children's Hospitals 38:54 Chicago, Pokémon GO Fest, and a Makeup Birthday Stream 41:00 Oliver Calls the Show and Requests App Approvals 45:40 The Oliver Debit Card Game Begins 52:00 Back to Fleet Command After the Hiatus 55:00 Voyage Across the Void Event Series Breakdown 58:00 Weekly Event Structure and New Permanent Sourcing 1:01:00 Daily SMS/SLB Rewards, Materials, and Missing Pieces 1:10:00 Produced Breakdown Wrap-Up: Is Voyage Across the Void Good? 1:13:00 Platinum Losses, Officer Shards, and First Impressions 1:22:00 Officer Depot Math and Weekly Reward Comparisons 1:34:00 Economy Reset Talk: Too Much, Too Fast? 1:40:00 Less Chores, More Choice: Cameron's Direction for STFC 1:49:00 Fun vs Rewards: Would Players Take Less for Better Gameplay? 1:55:00 M90 vs M91 Battle Pass and Mythic Track Discussion 2:01:00 Battle Pass Milestone Changes and Reward Rearrangement 2:07:00 Faction Credits, Platinum Conversion, and G7 Value Math 2:13:00 Battle Pass Value vs Player Sentiment 2:16:00 The Core Problem: Everything Costs Too Much 2:22:00 G3 Economy Memories and Lessons for G7 2:28:00 Omega Materials, Stat Squish Talk, and Economy Repair Ideas 2:34:00 New Players, Veteran Frustration, and the “First Pancake” Problem 2:37:00 Is Mythic Basically a Second Battle Pass? 2:40:00 Officer History, Battle Pass Memories, and Economy Wrap 2:44:00 Chicago Exhaustion, Production Day, and LEGO Enterprise Plans 2:48:00 GoWheel Updates, Meetups, and Community Travel Goals 2:52:00 Commercial Chaos: Mullets, Inflation, and Cereal Toys 2:56:00 Talking Trek AMA Begins 3:00:00 Athena Purchases, Shenanigans, and Ship Blueprint Questions 3:04:00 G6 Scrapping, QOL Leaks, and Rapid-Fire Chat Questions 3:08:00 Battle Pass Submissions, Mega Cube, Skydeck, and Final Questions 3:12:00 Final Plugs and Sign-Off

Wayspotters - A Niantic Wayfarer Podcast

This week Jamal and Chris dive into the rise of what Jamal calls "spaghetti nominations" Wayspot submissions that live in the gray area between obvious slam dunks and outright rejections. The duo takes a nostalgic trip back to the early days of Wayfarer, when submitters had only seven nominations and every submission had to count. Comparing those days to today's abundance of nomination slots, they discuss how player behavior has changed, whether nomination quality has dipped, and if Niantic and Scopely have unintentionally encouraged Wayfinders to test the boundaries of eligibility. Along the way, Chris and Jamal review a variety of real-world nomination examples, including neighborhood entrance signs, apartment pergolas, decorative benches, utility box art, fountains, trail markers, business murals, community mailboxes, and even dumpster art. The conversation explores the difference between reviewing to approve versus reviewing to deny, the growing divide between map purists and gameplay-focused submitters, and whether Wayfarer communities are at risk of "going rogue" as nomination opportunities continue to expand. The episode also features Dad Jokes, Mom Jokes, a discussion about Go Fest, and a pair of fascinating Wayspots of the Week, including a Purdue University cyclotron model tied to J. Robert Oppenheimer. Stick Around For... ✅ The rise of "Spaghetti Nominations" and how hundreds of available submissions may be changing Wayfarer behavior. ✅ Chris and Jamal debate neighborhood signs, pergolas, benches, utility box art, trail markers, murals, and other gray-area nominations. ✅ A discussion on Scopely's impact on the Pokémon GO map and whether Wayfarer should stay out of game-specific decisions. ✅ Dad Jokes, Mom Jokes, Wayspots of the Week, and a preview of an upcoming discussion on what happens when a Wayfarer community goes rogue. Lured Up - A Pokémon GO Podcast

Lured Up Podcast 395: Forward Progress Live Streamed on - 5/27/2026 Publish Date - 5/28/2026 We are less than 2 weeks away from GO Fest Chicago! This window of time is the funky period where some are getting ready to travel to GO Fest, while the majority of others are still ready to play and grind at home! We break down some of the details of the Chicago event as well as the Team Leader Summer Quests that we will have globally over the next few weeks. Being a live service game, Pokémon GO definitely doesn't have time to rest on its laurels, as Season 23 of the game has been unveiled. Forever Forward will be our next season, and by the look of the promotional video, Niantic is doubling down on their core value of exploration. From Trainers walking an adventuring, to images of remote Pokéstops, the game has positioned itself as a key motivator in keeping Trainers moving forward. We unpack what we know so far, and how GO Fest season will drive the first few weeks of the season, leading right into Global in mid-July. We also have our June Content Update, bringing back some Raid favorites like Necrozma and some Ultra Beasts. Frigibax has been announced as the June Community Day Pokémon, and we have a few events called out for the month. If IRL GO Fests are not in your future, there is still plenty to do in game and from home, which can be considered a long, winding road to GO Fest Global. We cover some random notes like the Pokémon Fossil Museum in Chicago and the release of Excavator Pikachu. This will likely be on all Chicago Trainer's bingo cards for the weekend. Pokémon GO has once again partnered with 100 Thieves to release some killer Mewtwo merch. We are hoping to get our hands on it, and ultimately give it away to the community.  We also run through our announced Chicago plans so far, including our Podcast Community Mixer with the GO Cast Podcast and our Pokémon Pop Punk night. We hope to have even more news to share by next week, and GO Fest will be here before you know it! Finally we reflect on how it has already been a year since the Scopely acquisition. We discuss our experiences working with Niantic and how our confidence in their goals has only increased since Scopely came in. We have known Joe for many years and have been a major fan of his from the beginning. His dedication to creating content that combines entertainment and information with incredible production value and a positive focus has earned him the respect of many core Trainers in the community. He covers the game with a positive lens, focusing on gameplay, community, and of course, the grind. We start of by learning about his approach to content, and how he has recently added a community focus to his gameplay experiences, which in our opinion, is the perfect compliment to his content style. Capturing the community experience, along with creating memories off camera, brings an organic feel and a relatable perspective. Like us, Lando feels that the future of this game is in the hands of new Trainers, which is why being there to foster a great experience is so important. You wouldn't expect it after watching some LandorAlpha content, but he is creating part time, as he still works full time outside of his content. This brings a unique motive and workflow that makes you think and consider things differently. When TikTok was off the app store for a few days, it was a direct blow to his content. This created an epiphany of understanding that while you may be creating the content, it is the platform that holds all the chips.  Enter, Spawn Point, LandorAlpha's weekly Pokémon GO Newsletter. A project that not only provides valuable info to Trainers worldwide, but one that is completely owned an operated by Joe. This security is important and shows the street smart approach to protecting content. We relate to this and admire how he has rolled this project out, making it exceptionally easy for Trainers to sign up. The newsletters provide complete game and event information for the week, while also aggregating all relevant and important links in a single place. After the break we talk GO Fest and how the IRL experience is like no other. Looking back on some of our favorite GO Memories and GO Fest stories. We rate our favorite park and city experience cities, and start the hype train for Chicago.  Make sure you connect with LandorAlpha on all of his platforms, and be sure to subscribe to the newsletter! Lured Up Podcast 391 Live Streamed on - 4/28/2026 Publish Date - 5/1/2026 Listen to this episode ad-free on our Patreon! https://www.patreon.com/PokemonProfessor  This week we dig in to an interesting juxtaposition in the Pokémon GO Community. It seems the divide between sentiment towards the game is widening. One one hand you have the Trainers that spend a lot of time on platforms like X. They may not have or do not engage with their local Campfire Communities so much of their PGO social interaction is actually para-social. This crowd has been sharing feelings of being unsatisfied with the state of the game. With monthly content updates going from a full disclosure of the month's events to having as few as one announced, is festering feelings of boredom and stagnation. Talks of the game feeling dead and not exciting will show up in most PGO feeds on X, even without searching it out. On the other hand, you have exceptionally robust in-person communities with active Campfires and plenty of meetups. In NJ we are seeing meetups increase in both frequency and turnout. Trainers are engaged and active and the vibes are always excellent. So how could both of these completely opposite takes exist at the same time? On paper they seem as if they are talking about completely different games? There is plenty to unpack and we do our best to find validation where it is warranted. From a news perspective, we have a TON to get through as we speedrun through the May calendar. We have Entei Shadow Raid Day this weekend, followed by the Spring Marathon and Community Day Classic: Deino. Phalanx Super Mega Raid Day takes us up to GO Fest Japan, making this month still pretty packed with action. We also had some fresh news from Niantic about a new branching Timed Research that Trainers will get for free during weeks without an in-game event. Things like Skill, Exploration, and Raiding will all be options to pursue in this new Research. While we don't expect the rewards to be anything crazy, we do think this will be a nice push to supplement some Evergreen Week gameplay. The big news of the week is all about  the debut of Mega Mewtwo at GO Fest. It will set a new precedent for split Mega Evolving Pokémon, which will soon require require specific Mega Energy for each evolution. We now have a ton more info about GO Fests including the rotating spawn pools by type during extended, 9 hour event gameplay days. Things are beginning to look incredible and we are still over a month away. We are so ready for GO FEST! In this episode JayTI7N and JackJack emphasize the need to communicate in Pokemon Go. This game requires not just team work, but also being proactive with asking questions, speaking up for what you are looking for in the game, and starting chats with other Players. Speaking up and being mindful can work wonders, especially when aspects of the game are not always clear-cut.  Best of luck with the GMax raids and with preparing for GO Fest!

Lured Up - A Pokémon GO Podcast

Lured Up Podcast 390 Live Streamed on - 4/14/2026 Publish Date - 4/17/2026 As we make our way out of the first of two, “no-event” weeks in April, this would be the perfect time to start talking about GO Fest prep. Nothing will be worse than showing up to GO Fest unprepared. We run through our best recommendations for both on and off screen prep.  When it comes to in-game prepping for an in-person event, you will likely be spending some real cash, so it will be important to identify a budget that you feel can carry you through a weekend of serious gameplay. Look for deals and take advantage of boxes that have the items you care about. Start thinking about ball maintenance and stockpile A LOT of balls. Depending on your gameplay, you will likely have plenty of opportunity to restock. Your effort now will pay off during GO Fest when you don't have to spend any energy on it during the event. Utilizing the tag system will help you stay organized and manageable. Finally, make sure you plan your Park Experience gameplay to fit your needs and style. Remember that the bulk of your weekend gameplay will happen outside of the Park, so you will want to be as efficient as possible. Off screen prep is extremely important. From things like sunblock to having comfortable shoes and extra socks, there is plenty to think about now to get prepared. Battery packs, charging blocks and cables, and even things like phone coolers can be important over your event weekend. If you run hot you can consider a neck cooler, which offer a silent and hands free way to drop your overall body temperature. Don't forget about food, and remember that things will likely be more expensive than you're used to. Finally we run through the current event announcements that take us into early May. Sustainability week will have us on the new Pokémon and Shiny Costume hunt. This weekend brings Replay: Rioulu Hatch Day. Next week we have another event week off, but you will need to save your energy for the GMAX Battle Day coming next weekend. Keep Training Trainers! This week Chris and Jamal talk about a packed week of Wayfarer news, including the Pokémon GO nomination screen spacebar bug, a new 24-hour delay before upgrades can be applied, eMiLy returning to photo reviews, and fixes for missing monthly recap emails. They also share plans for Pokémon GO Fest in Chicago, talk about meeting listeners in person, and officially put out their invitation to connect with the Niantic team while they're there. The main discussion digs into a fascinating theory about Wayfarer review distances. After a nomination from a friend of the show appeared far outside the expected review radius, Chris and Jamal explore whether Niantic may have quietly expanded review areas while keeping them locked within each reviewer's home country. They compare examples from across North America, weigh several possible explanations, and make the case that a larger review pool could be helping reduce backlog, speed up decisions, and keep the system moving more efficiently than before. They also talk about the recent removal of questionable “couch” Power Spots and share advice for anyone trying to restore a legitimately removed Wayspot. From gathering proof and photos to treating the request like a brand-new nomination, they explain how to give the Wayfarer team the best possible case. To close things out, Chris teases the upcoming March Madness Wayspot bracket, Jamal gives a shoutout to Ingress agents he met in Charlotte, and the hosts reflect on how much better Wayfarer feels when strong nominations move through the system faster. Lured Up - A Pokémon GO Podcast

Lured Up Podcast 385 GO Tourist Trap Live Streamed on - 3/3/2026 Publish Date - 3/5/2026 The last week of gameplay has been some of the best Raiding the game has seen. With multiple chases and backgrounds, this week was either a collectors best dream or worst nightmare. One thing was for certain, and that was how both the Road to Kalos and the GO Tour itself were set up to accommodate spending. We both had a different approach to the event, but we both felt the pressure of spending throughout. March is shaping up to have some great events. Blogs have been released covering the next three weeks of gameplay. This comes after last week's March Content Update felt very light on info. The 30th Anniversary Event brings an ambitious amount of Pokémon to the gameboard, with plenty of availability for Legendaries. After the anniversary event we get a one-two punch from the Pokopia Celebration Event and the Bug Out! The schedule may be structured, but it hasn't slowed down at all. Details for each of the IRL GO Fest events has been released and Mewtwo and Zeroara are leading the charge. The event will switch up the habitat style for this event, and even offers a stand alone city experience ticket. If the Early Bird ticket sales are any indication, this year's GO Fest is going to be sold out across the board. We end the show with a discussion about how the Road to Kalos trained us to be prepared to spend, only to be followed up with an even bigger weekend of Raiding. We discussed the Scopely Effect last week, and we think this may be another side of that coin. It looks like a future “Global” events could be increasingly more demanding on our wallets! Lured Up Podcast 375 Live Streamed on - 12/9/2025 Publish Date - 12/12/2025 Temperatures are dropping for Ken and Adam in the Northeast, but that isn't stopping the game from keeping things hot! In the last week we journeyed to Paldea, recapped the year's Community Day lineup, as we continue to grind through the GO Pass and the leveling update. The announcement of Forever Friends has rekindled old friendships and has remotivated Trainers to get back on the gifting grind.  This week also brings us the Well Armed event with the release of Clobbopus along with boosted Shiny rates for DMAX Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan. Well Armed's Global Challenges will be the perfect complement for GMAX Snorlax this weekend, as rewards include increased Candy XL from Max Battles. Niantic has been doing a great job with events supporting each other, and allowing for some great stacking of bonuses. Forever Friends brings Remote Trading, which is a feature that Trainers never thought they would see. With a slick interface and a fair trading process, this will keep Best Friends engaged and interacting. Having a Prestige based leveling system will make Forever Friends earn their namesake, and worth keeping on your list. The Friends List will also be increasing from 450 to 650, rolled out in waves of 50. While there hasn't been any announcement about increased gifting ability, the additional friends are still a huge win. December still has a lot of fight left in it with the Winter Holiday events and Celestial Research Day coming soon. We also can't forget about the City Safari events happening this weekend as well. It's pretty wild to think how aggressive the pacing of the game is and how it keeps packing out the calendar. We also have confirmation on GO Fest locations, with the confirmation of Chicago and the announcement of Tokyo and Copenhagen.  We wrap things up with a conversation about remote play, and how Niantic has done a great job in rolling out remote features, without it having a big impact on IRL play. Smaller communities will still feel a sting if they lose 10-20% of their attendees, but the remote accessibility can at least make up for the gameplay elements, allowing the smaller groups to take down the tougher bosses. We wonder if there is anything left to add to the remote lineup, or if we have seen everything there is to be done already released! Lured Up Podcast 372: Spending With Reckless Abandon Live Streamed on - 11/18/25 Publish Date - 11/21/25 What an incredible month of gameplay we are getting. Since the level cap increase, the game and community have felt alive and well, with excitement, motivation, and dedication flowing all around us. We recap our last week of gameplay through Into The Wild, the Silver Bottlecap, and finally, with Wild Area:Global. Adam was able to make the most of his limited gameplay and Raided from the toilet, while Ken was able to get 16 hours of core gameplay in Red Bank and Philly. The Community Celebration Event in Philly was incredible. It somehow captured the magic of a much larger IRL event like GO Fest, in a City Safari like setting. Niantic may really be on to something here, as these events capture the magic of a large event, while being powered by local communities, which sets a unique tone for the gameplay. Nearly 1,500 Trainers checked in on Campfire and Raid Trains packed with a few hundred Trainers were marching through the city for the entirety of the event. A group of creators was able to meetup at the event to bring their individual styles of gameplay and content to the community. We take a look at each of the featured creators, and highly recommend you check them out and give them a follow. There is some real magic to be had when you combine core gameplay, and creators that like to get their hands dirty on the grind. We have a few remaining events in November, with High Voltage keeping us busy until this weekend's DMAX Eevee Max Battle Weekend. With Eevee only being Tier 2, most Trainers will have no problem taking it down. We hope you saved some Max Particles from Wild Area, because making sure you can evolve into the full line, you are going to need a fair amount of DMAX Eevee in your inventory. The level rebalance kicked off a reinvigoration of the community, and the game has come through with some great events to keep Trainers busy. We recap the Halloween event and how with new Pokémon, new Shinies, an amazing Sinistea Spotlight Hour and GMAX Garbodor, things are rocking and rolling. We also touch on how having a weekend off is actually a good thing, and helps Trainers recover from the onslaught of events that we have been used to recently. November is upon us however, and there is a lot to look forward to. There is also a lot to spend money on as we stack up your options, including 2 GO Passes, a bunch of event tickets, and of course the GO Wild Area. Storage increases, consumables, and Raid Passes will be flowing over Global's weekend, so it is best to go in prepared. Keep a lookout for deals and buy the bundles that fit your needs. Also, if you will be in the Philly area for Global, hit up Ken! There were a few miscellaneous tidbits this week like the Nagasaki Poke Lid Stamp Rally and the Black Friday Sale. November seems to be a packed month but does actually have some empty weekends. Perhaps with the free time you may want to look ahead to Chicago, as there is plenty to plan for with GO Fest looming. With the diversity of Chicago's downtown, you have vastly different environments available to stay in. Lured Up Podcast 368 Live Streamed on - 10/21/25 Publish Date - 10/24/25 Pokémon Trainers everywhere are torn between Legends Z-A on Switch and the Level 80 grind in Pokémon GO! Luckily for PGO Trainers, the Legends Z-A Event gave us some slight crossover to scratch the itch. It was Mega Rayquaza Raid Day however, that brought the Trainers out over the weekend. Communities everywhere were putting in big numbers to take down the Sky High Pokémon. With Raid numbers like we are seeing, we can only imagine what Mega Dragonite or Mega Mewtwo will do. Spooky Season is officially here with the return of the Halloween Event, which brings a little bit of everything over the rest of the month. New Pokémon, new Shinies, and new Costumes will fill our inventories as we continue our push to the upper levels. We check in on our progress and share some best practices for some of the initial tasks to complete after Level 70. We still have plenty of time in October, but we already have the November Content Update which of course includes the Wild Area. This event has proven to be exciting and a fantastic draw for Communities. We have a feeling that GMAX Grimmsnarl will keep us on the grind along with Shadow Darkrai. The Wild Area hype can only be bested by one thing, GO Fest hype. The local Fox news affiliate in Chicago dropped a bombshell that Pokémon GO will be returning to Grant Park in 2026 with the option of 2027. We are VERY excited for this announcement as Grant Park provided an incredible backdrop for GO Fest, with great terrain, views, and a straightforward layout. The City Experience element will bring new experiences for Trainers, and we have plenty of time to prepare.  Legends Z-A Event Mega Rayquaza Raid Day GO Pass Halloween Halloween Part 1 Halloween Part 2 Level 80 Grind November Content Update Enchanted Hollow Into The Wild GO Fest Chicago Stay up to date by adding our Google Calendar to your account! Lured Up Podcast 366 - Find Your Way Live Streamed on - 10/7/25 Publish Date - 10/10/25 It's another news heavy week as Niantic continues to pump out blog after blog. With the last week including Mega Metagross and DMAX Duraludon, many Trainers had an active and busy weekend of gameplay and it doesn't appear to be letting up anytime soon. This next week brings us the Harvest Festival, which if Trainers want to make the most of, will put the GO Plus+ on the back burner and require faces to be in front of screens. This is a great technique by Niantic to get Trainers re-engaged with focused gameplay. GMAX Grimmsnarl has been announced for the GO Wild Area, as the event keeps getting stronger and stronger. This event has cemented its place in the annual major event lineup and is getting the features and releases to back that up. Hopefully we will see significant differentiation between it and other events like GO Fest or GO Tour. Perhaps they can deliver a unique experience via a GO Pass or Special Research. We skim over a bunch of events that will arrive in the coming weeks, with the most notable being the return of Mega Rayquaza. This is one of those events that will have the hand of Eternatus reaching into Trainer's pockets and urging them to Raid as much as possible. There aren't too many Pokémon that will bring people out than Rayquaza. Still no word on if we will see any guaranteed Meteorites or how that will work this time around. Wayfarer has detailed their 2025-2026 roadmap, and it looks to become a more personal tool. From monthly recognition emails to the mention of a new Wayfarer map, this is a great time to get involved. We discuss the incredible feeling of having a POI added to the game as well as the agony of defeat when things get rejected. Lured Up - A Pokémon GO Podcast

Lured Up Podcast 364 Live Streamed on - 9/23/25 Publish Date - 9/26/25 This week had a first with Scopely retweeting Pokémon GO which reminded Trainers that the Niantic acquisition was completed months ago. With the comments being somewhat tame so far, we inappropriately speculate on if we think the hyper passionate and emotional X mob will give Scopely a fair chance on social, or if the baton will be passed directly to them from Niantic. With the team members being the same, we know the same devs are still pushing the buttons. As for social, particularly NianticHelp, we are yet to see the names and branding flip to reflect Scopely. We know one thing for sure, we hope Scopely is ready to take on PGO social media. We start with a recap of the last week of gameplay including the Psychic Spectacular: Taken Over and Shadow Groudon Raid Weekend. While the event pace has slowed down a bit, the Today View is more stacked than ever, with multiple Timed and Special Research stacking on top of each other. With three upcoming weekends of Max Battle and Raid Days, we talk about what kind of value we get from DMAX vs Mega Pokémon. This week brings us Mega Camerupt, followed by DMAX Duraludon releasing along with its Shiny, followed up by Mega Metagross which has been a long time coming. With most Trainers having already invested in good IV Metagross, what appeals to you more: DMAX or Megas? Large scale IRL events are in the news this week as City Safaris in Valencia and Amsterdam are happening this weekend, and a Save-The-Date post was shared for GO Tour. With both of these events having a unique presentation and feel, they compliment GO Fest events well, and promote travel, which is something we feel makes this game so special. No worries if you can't travel, GO Tour Global will be happening one week after the in person event. Finally we wrap up with a conversation about a topic that has been around for a while. Content creators being rude to the developer and claiming that it is constructive criticism. With so many ways to sway a community, and so many avenues as a creator to speak directly to the developer, we question why some on social media insist on slipping in a dig when commenting about the game.  Psychic Spectacular: Taken Over Shadow Groudon Raid Weekend Completely Normal Mega Camerupt Raid Day Mega Camerupt Pokebattler Mega Camerupt GO Hub Steel Skyline Mega Metagross Raid Day City Safaris Dancing in the Moonlight Harvest Festival Scopely enters the chat Joe Merrick JRESeawolf As The Pokéball Turns David Hernandez GoFundMe Buy Some Merch! Lured Up Podcast 353 - Every Day For Nine YearsLive Streamed on - 7/8/25Publish Date - 7/11/25We hope you don't have much to do outside of Pokémon GO this week because the game has turned the events and bonuses up to eleven! Starting with a recap of the last week of gameplay, we discuss Community Day Classic's two day format, and how it takes some of the stress out of playing the event. The weekend format was great for some more low-key gameplay that let you play when it worked for you.The 9th Anniversary Event brought us the Gimmighoul chase and made those without access to a Scarlet & Violet feel the burn of FOMO. Niantic Cat also walked across the keyboard and didn't activate the Shiny, so the availability was extended by a day. In Red Bank, Ken and the crew threw down 13 Golden Lures that brought the Community out to play. Trainers were tracking down Field Research and zooming in to their maps to find Gimmighoul. We hope you were able to take part in something similar on your local gameboard.Solgaleo is in Five Star Raids for the first time and many of us are ready to Raid. We take a look at both Pokebattler and GO Hub to put together a Battle Party to make quick work of it. Even without the Shiny being available, Fusions were a top priority on the grind, so the Hundo chase was on.Expect the same when Lunala comes around, so plan ahead!Plenty of July events were either teased or detailed this week as well. The Water Festival is returning and bringing new regional forms of Tatsugigi. It opens a discussion about Raid locking newly released Pokémon and how the Regional lock adds an additional barrier of entry to them. With Remote Raiding being the main option for collecting the regional trio, it calls for you to reach into your wallet if you want them all now. Other events like Gigantamax Lapras Max Battle Day and the Ultra Unlock Steel and Scales event have also been detailed, keeping the momentum going strong. We wonder if this pace is sustainable outside of the GO Fest window, and how Scopely will approach the non-stop barrage of events. After all, this game has come a long way in 9 years, with events pushing players to play, rather than the vanilla state of the game. Finally we wrap up with a little reflection on the last 9 years of the game and of Lured Up. We are VERY grateful for everything that the game has brought us, from the countless hours of gameplay to the incredible friends we have made. Pokémon GO has been a more consistent presence in our lives than most other things. We hope you have had a long and positive experience with the game, and hope the “forever game” moniker holds true.9th Anniversary Event Community Day Classic: EeveeHisuian Lilligant Raid DaySolgaleo GOHubSolgaleo PokebattlerWater FestivalGigantamax Lapras Max Battle DayUltra Unlock: Steel and ScalesReflecting on 9 Years of Pokémon GOLuredUp@PokemonProfessor.com    Voicemail and SMS: 732-835-8639 Use code FULLHEAL at https://tgacards.com/ for 10% off your order!Connect with us on multiple platforms! https://linktr.ee/PokemonProfessorNetwork HostsKen PescatoreAdam TuttleWriter and Producer: Ken PescatoreExecutive Producer: XanderShow music provided by GameChops and licensed through Creative Commons▾ FOLLOW GAMECHOPS ▾http://instagram.com/GameChopshttp://twitter.com/GameChopshttp://soundcloud.com/GameChopshttp://facebook.com/GameChopshttp://youtube.com/GameChopshttp://www.gamechops.comIntro MusicLake Verity (Drum & Bass Remix) TetracaseGameChops - Ultraballhttp://gamechops.com/ultraball/https://soundcloud.com/tetracase https://soundcloud.com/MegaFlare0Break MusicNational ParkMikel & GameChopsGameChops - Poké & Chillhttp://smarturl.it/pokechillhttps://twitter.com/mikel_beatsOutro MusicVast Poni CanyonCG5 & GlitchxCity (Future Bass Remix)GameChops - Ultraballhttp://gamechops.com/ultraball/ http://soundcloud.com/cg5-beatshttps://soundcloud.com/glitchxcity#pokemon #pokemongo #podcast

Lured Up Podcast 350Live Streamed: 6/18/25Audio Published: 6/22/25We are in that weird time frame between IRL and Global GO Fest that makes it difficult to decide if you need to rest or get back out there. We've had a bit of everything in addition to GO Fest this month, with GMAX Inteleon and Phantom Ruins keeping us busy last week, along with Remote Raiding in Paris. The game's pace doesn't care what is going on as the events are still coming in heavy. Jangmo-o Community Day and Yamper's Paw Prints and the recently updated Ancients Recovered will guide us right into Global, but there is plenty to unpack.Hyper Training has been announced as part of an Ancients Recovered GO Pass that will have Trainers reaching in their Pockets right before GO Fest. FOMO might be an issue for some Trainers with a $19.99 price tag being a lot to ask. The timing of expensive tickets comes at the end of the Niantic/Scopely deal which has led to a lot of speculation about who made the call on the pricetag. With the Community already being cautiously optimistic of Scopely's direction, the optics on this aren't the best. What we do know is that you will be able to take a Nundo all the way to a hundo, with scaling tasks depending on the amount of IVs you want to train. This could finally be a bit of end-game content that keeps hardcore Trainers dedicated to their tasks, while also building a strong bond with the Pokémon they are Hyper Training. Sounds awesome, but that pricetag though…We will be recording our next episode before Global arrives, but we still dig into some event prep, with most of our storage and Pokémon still being a mess from Jersey City, there is plenty of cleanup to do. Our ball management took a hit, and hopefully everyone had enough time to recover and restock. Most importantly, we recommend taking a good look at the different habitat spawn pools and timing, to help you figure out when and how to focus your time. If you are in New Jersey for Global, you should come out to meet Ken as he will be playing with 6 different Ambassador Communities across the state!
