What happens when tribal memory meets modern encounters in the misty forests of Northern California? In this powerful episode, we delve into the sacred stories of the Hoopa tribe, featuring firsthand accounts from a tribal descendant who shares never-before-heard knowledge about how Bigfoot — known as “the one in charge of the mountains” — once danced in regalia alongside their ancestors. We also hear gripping encounters from a law enforcement officer in Cumberland, Wisconsin haunted by childhood cries of “yummy, yummy,” a hunter's brush with death in the hills of West Virginia, and chilling sightings from Montana to British Columbia. These are not just stories — they're living truths passed down through generations and etched into personal memory. If you've ever wondered what Bigfoot means to Native communities, what it's like to stand 30 yards from one, or why entire regions go silent before something steps out of the trees... this episode will stay with you long after it ends.

Lured Up Podcast 336 Record Date - 2/12/25 Publish Date - 2/14/25   Happy Valentine's Day! We love all of you for the incredible support you have given us over the years! We hope you have an awesome day!   Plenty to recap this week as we are coming out of the Strong Yet Small event, Community Day weekend, and the start of the Beloved Buddies. With what seems less like filler events, this last week has brought us new Pokémon, Shinies, and move sets. The calendar doesn't show any signs of slowing down, as this weekend brings us Hoopa Unbound Raid Day.    We put together a little Raid Guide and Battle Party for Hoopa and encourage all Trainers to prepare 1 or 2 Battle Parties in advance. With the ability to dui, you will want to make sure you maximize your time in the Raid to get the highest damage output possible. It's not often that Bug Pokémon take the stage, but Hoopa will be taking double super effective damage from them this weekend!   The latest Save the Date blog has the community talking as it is becoming harder and harder to maintain a healthy game-life balance. Should it be left to Niantic to manage our priorities, or does the onus fall on the Trainer to decide how they spend their time. It's a great topic and one that we feel will continue to be a part of the zeitgeist for the foreseeable future.   This month is still packed with events as we have Scattered To The Winds, the Road to Unova, and of course Unova Tour IRL and GLobal closing out the month. Is it even possible for the average Trainer to keep up with the schedule, or should they not even be concerned with playing every event? The FOMO is real, and it may be time for many Trainers to make decisions about their priorities.   In closing we briefly discuss Fuecoco COmmunity Day which will be the first of the next season. GO Tour: Unova will feature some Notable Trainers that you can meet and hang out with. Finally, a unique partnership between PGO and Major League Baseball will have baseball fans whipping their phones out at Stadiums across the United States.   Keep Training, Trainers!   Strong Yet Small - https://bit.ly/LU335StrongYetSmall Community Day - https://bit.ly/LU335CommunityDay  Beloved Buddies - https://bit.ly/LU335BelovedBuddies  Hoopa Unbound Raid Day - https://bit.ly/LU335Hoopa  Hoopa Counters GOHub - https://bit.ly/LU336HoopaGOHub  Hoopa Counters Pokébattler - https://bit.ly/LU336HoopaPokebattler  Scattered To The Winds - https://bit.ly/LU335Scattered  Save The Dates - https://bit.ly/LU336SaveTheDates  Fuecoco Community Day - https://bit.ly/LU336Fuecoco  GO Tour Notable Trainers - https://bit.ly/LU336Notable  PGOxMLB - https://bit.ly/LU336MLB    LuredUp@PokemonProfessor.com     Voicemail and SMS: 732-835-8639    Use code FULLHEAL at https://tgacards.com/ for 10% off your order!   Support the show by bookmarking and shopping at TCGPlayer.com using this link - https://bit.ly/TCGPlayerAffiliate    Connect with us on multiple platforms! https://linktr.ee/PokemonProfessorNetwork    Hosts Ken Pescatore Adam Tuttle   Writer and Producer Ken Pescatore   Executive Producer  Xander   Show music provided by GameChops and licensed through Creative Commons   ▾ FOLLOW GAMECHOPS ▾ http://instagram.com/GameChops http://twitter.com/GameChops http://soundcloud.com/GameChops http://facebook.com/GameChops http://youtube.com/GameChops http://www.gamechops.com   Intro Music Lake Verity (Drum & Bass Remix)  Tetracase GameChops - Ultraball http://gamechops.com/ultraball/ https://soundcloud.com/tetracase  https://soundcloud.com/MegaFlare0   Break Music National Park Mikel & GameChops GameChops - Poké & Chill http://smarturl.it/pokechill https://twitter.com/mikel_beats   Outro Music Vast Poni Canyon CG5 & GlitchxCity (Future Bass Remix) GameChops - Ultraball http://gamechops.com/ultraball/  http://soundcloud.com/cg5-beats https://soundcloud.com/glitchxcity Pokémon And All Respective Names are Trademark and © of Nintendo 1996-2024 Pokémon GO is Trademark and © of Niantic, Inc. In October 2021, Hoopa Tribe member, Emmilee Risling, vanished from an isolated part of the Yurok Reservation in Northern California. But her story is not just about being a missing person, it's about an entire system that failed to protect her when she needed help. What you should also know is that Emmilee is the cousin of our Floodlights producer, Jack Kohler. When we describe this podcast as a personal project, we mean it. Jack, like many Native Americans, knows at least one missing or murdered relative. This crisis of missing and murdered Indigenous people is real – and too often it's up to Native people to fight the good fight alone.  Do you have a story you'd like to see covered on Floodlights? For this episode of The HipHopHumboldt Podcast, I had the pleasure to do an interview with one of my favorite artists, Cali Los Mikyo! It was great to get into his history, where he grew up, and how he got into the local scene. We got into some stories from years back, and a lot of discussion about how Cali Los Mikyo is paving the way for youth to have better outcomes in Humboldt County. During the episode, I couldn't remember the name but it was the ACLU who published the "Failing Grade" report highlighting disparities in outcomes amongst Indigenous students in local schools, https://www.aclunc.org/sites/default/files/ACLU%20Humboldt%20report%2010%2026%2020%20final%20web.pdf and so with that being said I really have major respect for what Cali Los Mikyo and his close friend Joaquin Thunderbird are doing to grab the torch and keep the right things going for the youth and for the community and culture of Indigenous peoples. And that's before even speaking on the art! If you didn't know, Cali Los Mikyo is a powerhouse out here dropping that realness, some real strength in the messages in the music! And he's saavy and hungry enough to be doing the entire process himself, from making the beats to filming and editing the visual content and marketing. He's got merch available, make sure you follow Cali Los Mikyo and click that link in his bio! Bigtime shoutout to Cali Los Mikyo for holding down the culture out here. Humboldt County's transmission infrastructure is old. Connections to the larger grid are weak and undersized, forcing Humboldt to be reliant on the fracked gas-burning Humboldt Bay Generating Station because we cannot pull enough power from our grid connections to keep the lights on. And, conversely, those same undersized powerlines mean we cannot export the power that would be generated from offshore wind. Until new grid infrastructure is operational, offshore wind can't be operational. While offshore wind is driving grid improvements, grid improvements can also benefit Humboldt. With improved grid connections, we can shut down our greenhouse gas-spewing power plant. And improvements to the grid can improve energy resiliency for communities like Hoopa that frequently experience outages. Arne Jacobson of the Schatz Energy Research Lab joins the EcoNews to discuss recent research produced by Schatz on transmission infrastructure planning. Required reading:Northern California and Southern Oregon Offshore Wind Transmission StudySupport the show

The title is brought to you by mrtamborine19 Welcome to Pokémon GO Podcast! Charles and Joe are here with another amazing episode! We doubt The Pokémon Company would ever permit Niantic to do a crossover in Pokémon GO, but that doesn't stop us from discussing what a crossover could look like. Could you imagine doing a raid against the Power Ranger's Megazord to earn some amazing prizes? Or teaming up with Mario to take down Bowser? The possibilities are amazing to think of. The Hoopa event is interesting because Niantic seems content to let it be a slow burn event. We wonder if it will be able to keep our interest the entire time. Furfrou is adding a new mechanic that lets us dynamically change the look of him. We suspect that mechanic will be used for Arceus as well, but we really wish they would use that mechanic for Pokémon costumes. Niantic has met with the task force and come back with an update. The interaction distance has been returned to 80 meters and they have promised to provide monthly posts detailing their goals for the immediate future of the game. They are also planning to meet with the task force regularly. Niantic has been teasing Hoopa's release for a long time and we finally have him in game. Niantic has also dedicated the next couple of months to Hoopa related events. Speaking of events, the Safari Zone events from 2020 that were cancelled have been rescheduled for October/November of this year. That said, ticket holders will not need to travel to specific real world locations to participate though Niantic will be holding real world events for each. October's community day will be Duskull which most players are not super thrilled about; many were hoping Litwick would be the featured Pokémon.
