Welcome to The FLOT Line, with your host, Rick Hughes. For the next 30 minutes, you will be inspired, motivated, educated, but never manipulated. FLOT is an acronym for Forward Line of Troops. The show teaches principles from the Bible and focuses on God’s 10 unique problem-solving devices. If you choose to learn and apply them, they will act as a main line of resistance in your soul, a FLOT line, preventing the outside sources of adversity from becoming the inside pressure of stress in your soul. The intent is to give you information to help you identify the plan of God for your life.
The FLOT Line Show podcast is truly a breath of fresh air in the midst of the chaos and confusion that seems to be rampant in our world today. As a listener, I cannot express how thankful I am for the absolute truth of the mind of Christ that is presented on this platform. It is so encouraging to hear a message that is rooted in biblical principles and unapologetically proclaims the word of God. The hosts are knowledgeable, passionate, and articulate in their delivery, making each episode engaging and thought-provoking.
One of the best aspects of The FLOT Line Show podcast is its unwavering commitment to presenting the mind of Christ without compromise. The hosts tackle relevant topics with boldness and provide insightful perspectives that are firmly grounded in scripture. They do not shy away from addressing controversial issues or delving into deep theological discussions, which sets this podcast apart from many others. Furthermore, the guests invited on the show bring unique insights and experiences that add depth to each conversation.
Additionally, the production quality of this podcast is top-notch. The audio is clear, ensuring an enjoyable listening experience without any distractions or technical issues. The hosts have a natural chemistry and their conversational style makes it easy for listeners to stay engaged throughout each episode.
However, one potential downside to The FLOT Line Show podcast is its niche appeal. While it may be refreshing for those who are eager for the word of God, it may not resonate as strongly with individuals who are seeking more general content or those who do not align with Christian beliefs. This specialization may limit the potential audience reach, but for those who share similar values and beliefs, it will undoubtedly be a valuable resource.
In conclusion, I highly recommend The FLOT Line Show podcast to anyone looking for a strong dose of biblical truth in today's chaotic world. It offers a refreshing perspective that is firmly rooted in scripture and provides valuable insights on relevant topics from various guest speakers. The unwavering commitment to presenting the mind of Christ without compromise sets this podcast apart, making it a valuable resource for those seeking to deepen their understanding of God's word. I will definitely continue to support and pray for the ministries behind this podcast as they continue to impact lives with their faithful message.

Jesus Christ provides freedom—He will set you free. Freedom from eternal condemnation and the control of the sin nature. Freedom from organized religion and a life of worry and stress. “It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore, keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery” (Gal 5:1). By learning Scripture, we can take advantage of these freedoms provided by God's grace. “You will know the truth and the truth will set you free” (John 8:32). God gives us volition, the freedom to follow His plan. It's our choice—go down the “my way highway” or “serve the Lord” (Joshua 24:15).Download Transcript: https://rhem.pub/freedom-06acc1
As a Christian, you are part of God's royal family. You are spiritual aristocracy. “Be renewed in the spirit of your mind and put on the new self, which is in the likeness of God, has been created in righteousness and holiness of truth” (Eph 4:24). You have an honor code that includes impersonal love for all and reflecting the thinking of Jesus Christ. “You are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God's possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of His [the Lord Jesus Christ] who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light” (1 Pet 2:9). You must be spiritually born to receive eternal life. “Unless one is born of water [physical birth] and born of Spirit [born again through faith alone in Christ alone] he cannot enter the kingdom of God” (John 3:5). This second birth is a simple act of faith. “He who believes in Him [the Lord Jesus Christ] is not judged” (John 3:18). You will either be born twice or die twice. Unbelievers, those who have not accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior, will die the second death, will be condemned to the Lake of Fire, and tormented forever.Download Transcript: https://rhem.pub/two-births-94140c
Developing a mature spiritual life requires consistent, high-quality nourishment from God's Word taught by a well-qualified pastor. No Christian can read the Bible and attain spiritual maturity on their own. The Bible is a textbook designed by God to be taught by a man with the spiritual gift of pastor-teacher. “Your word I have treasured in my heart that I may not sin against You” (Ps 119:11). Scripture is layered—the more you learn, the more you realize you don't know. When you understand God's Word and store it in your heart, it reveals your weaknesses and strengths.Download Transcript: https://rhem.pub/qualified-pastor-ec8824
Prayer is one of the most powerful functions of your Christian life, when done according to God's protocol. Prayer is an extension and reflection of your spiritual life, based on the content of God's Word in your soul. Take your appreciation and requests to God and have the tranquility of God's peace. “In everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Phil 4:6-7). The Lord Jesus Christ and God the Holy Spirit intercede on your behalf, praying for you! “He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God” (Rom 8:27). Prayer is not designed to get you out of trouble, but rather to express your helplessness and dependence on God.Download Transcript: https://rhem.pub/power-prayer-8fcbd0

Can God count on you to be an MVP in His Plan? An MVP is a Christian with momentum, virtue, and poise. Momentum in your spiritual life comes from learning and applying God's Word consistently. Virtue is demonstrated through a personal love for God and an impersonal love for others. Poise is the ability to think God's Word under pressure. An MVP for God, “Retain the standard of sound words which you have heard from me, in the faith and love which are in Christ Jesus. Guard, through the Holy Spirit who dwells in us, the treasure which has been entrusted to you” (2 Tim 1:13-14). Download Transcript: https://rhem.pub/mvp-god-7c9578
You can be an invisible hero for God if you grow to spiritual maturity. Invisible heroes are obedient to God, faithful to learn and apply His Word, spiritually prepared, and ready for God to use them in His perfect timing. “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the Word of truth” (2 Tim 2:15).Invisible heroes seek to glorify God, not themselves. “For if we live, we live for the Lord, or if we die, we die for the Lord; therefore whether we live or die, we are the Lord's” (Rom14:8).Download Transcript: https://rhem.pub/invisible-hero-6b91df
When you continue to walk in darkness, you will develop a hard heart. “Walk in the futility of their mind, being darkened in their understanding, excluded from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them because of the hardness of their heart” (Eph 4:17-18). You can recover from a heart hardened and defiled by cosmic system thinking by using God's problem-solving device number one (Rebound: 1 John 1:9) to regain fellowship. Your faithfulness to God should reflect His faithfulness to you. “It is of the Lord's mercy we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Thy faithfulness (Lam 3:22-23). The lifestyle of the spiritually maturing believer demonstrates faithfulness with love, respect, admiration, gratitude, and obedience to God and reflects God's mercy and compassion toward others. Part of the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to give you the strength to remain faithful. “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness…” (Gal 5:22-23). God abounds in mercy because of His compassion for us and our eternal destiny. Mercy flows from the throne of grace. “Let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need” (Heb 4:16). Mercy is His grace in action, generated by His love and compassion. “The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in mercy” (Ps 103:8). A spiritually maturing Christian acquires the attribute of compassion and demonstrates it by reaching those who are lost and giving them the Gospel. God extends His mercy upon generation after generation to those who love and obey Him (Luke 1:50). Download Transcript: https://rhem.pub/god-mercy-9dcbf1
God disciplines you because He loves you. “Do not despise the discipline of the Lord. Those whom He loves He disciplines” (Heb 12:6). When you sin, you get out of the protective realm of God the Holy Spirit, which leaves you vulnerable. Your spiritual life ceases to function when you have unconfessed sin. God will use divine discipline to get your attention and encourage rebound (God's problem-solving device number one). “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous, so that He will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9). “He who is wise wins souls” (Prov 11:30). When you win souls to Christ, there is joy in heaven because you did your job. You can be a soul winner based on the power of the filling and ministry of the Holy Spirit and the dynamics of God's Word in your soul. God wants you to be a witness with your life and with your lips. Your life is a testimony to the Lord Jesus Christ. You are being watched. You are to witness for the Lord Jesus Christ and win people to Christ so their souls will be delivered from the Lake of Fire. Sometimes, we witness to give the gospel. Sometimes, we witness to share the importance of spiritual growth and stability. Pray and ask God to give you opportunities to talk to lost individuals. “The testimony is this, that God has given us eternal life and this life is in His Son. Serving God is your purpose in life. This is why God left you here after you were saved. “Fear the Lord and serve Him in truth with all your heart; for consider what great things He has done for you” (1 Sam 12:24). You receive a spiritual gift from the Holy Spirit at the moment of salvation. Using your spiritual gift is one way to serve God. You must be filled with the Holy Spirit and have some spiritual growth for your gift to be effective. This is what the Lord Jesus Christ said about serving, “If anyone serves Me, he must follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also; if anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him” (John 12:26). You face three enemies in your spiritual life: the world, your flesh, and the devil. You live in the devil's world, and it is full of temptations, illusions, and false promises. The world offers you security and happiness, but it can't deliver. “The world is passing away; and also, its lusts; but the one who does the will of God lives forever” (1 John 2:17). Your flesh, the sin nature, tempts you in your areas of strength and weakness. Spiritual growth counters the temptations. Satan's objective is to avoid going to the Lake of Fire. He is trying to create a utopia on Earth through organized religion and internationalism. His tactics are beyond our comprehension, so we must consistently learn and apply God's World, or we will fall victim to his plan. “So that no advantage would be taken of us by Satan, for we are not ignorant of his schemes” (2 Cor 2:11). The gifts are just beginning once you come into the family of God by faith alone in Christ alone. You can now approach God in prayer through the filling of the Holy Spirit. The power behind your faith is your personal love for God. Do you love God? Does this motivate you to trust Him and His plan for you? Faith defeats fear. “I will fear no evil for You are with me” (Ps 23:4). You build up faith as you learn Scripture and put your confidence and trust in God's plan for your life. Scripture is how God reveals Himself to you. You are to live for Him, not yourself. It is no longer your life but His as you replicate His life to others. “Christ in me … I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me” (Gal 2:20). Read Hebrews 11. Your spiritual life is lived in your mind, not in your emotions. Do you want to be a good Christian? This is how: stay filled with the Holy Spirit, hear and learn the Word of God under the ministry of a well-qualified pastor, grow up spiritually by metabolizing what you learn so it is in your soul ready for recall and then use it! Application of what you've learned is the key. If you love God, you will obey Him. “This is the love of God that we keep His mandates, and His mandates are not hard” (1 John 5:3). You arrive at occupation with Christ when He takes precedence over everything else in your life. Your relationship with God is more important than with people or things. “Sanctify the Lord Jesus Christ in your hearts” (1 Pet 3:5). Click for Full Transcript: https://rhem.pub/time-shout-0379a4

The more you learn of God's Word and grow in your advance to spiritual maturity, the more you are responsible for. God expects you to be faithful and to glorify Him. “From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and to whom they entrusted much, of him they will ask all the more.” (Luke 12:48). You must have the spiritual capacity for God to bless you—He won't give what you can't handle. “Humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God so that He may exalt you in due time” (1 Pet 5:6-7). You must trust God and turn your life over to Him at some point. “Not My will but Thy will be done” (Luke 22:42). Click for Full Transcript: https://rhem.pub/time-shout-a589d6
“My days vanish like the smoke, and my bones burn like glowing embers” (Ps 102:33). Time does not shout; it just runs out quicker than you think. A key to your spiritual life is using the faith-rest drill: claim a promise, reverse your concentration focus on God instead of yourself and your problem, and come to a Biblical conclusion standing on the promises of God. When you focus on the problem, you fail to see God's solution. “Picking up the shield of faith so you can stand against the devil's strategy” (Eph 6:11-16). Learn to trust the justice of God. God will vindicate you. Our battle is with mental attitude sins. “Cease from anger. Forsake wrath. Fret not thyself in any way to do evil” (Ps 37:8). The issue is always God's timing, not yours. It starts with the provision of time to accept the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior and receive His righteousness. “He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him” (2 Cor 5:21). When believers prioritize their spiritual lives, they will receive blessings above and beyond logistical grace. “Seek first His kingdom and righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Self-examination based on Scripture is critical for every Christian. “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my rock and my Redeemer” (Psalm 19:14). Success starts with what you think in your soul. Remember, God hears your words and knows what you are thinking. “Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear” (Eph 4:29). Who will control your thinking and, therefore, your life? Will it be God the Holy Spirit or your sin nature? This is the moment-by-moment, decision-by-decision dilemma every believer faces. “Therefore, do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its lusts” (Rom 6:12). The mentality of your soul is the battlefield where you must be tactically successful to glorify God. “Walk by the Spirit and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh” (Gal 5:16). Yes, you'll continue to fail, and you'll never stop sinning, but you can stop throwing yourself pity parties (taking your eyes off God) and keep short accounts with God (confess your sin to God immediately). “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous, so that He will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Your conscience stores norms and standards you use to recognize right from wrong. Learning God's Word is how you change your thinking from a human viewpoint to a divine viewpoint. You live by what's in your conscience. “For as he thinks within himself, so he is” (Prov 23:7). Does your conscience honor God? “For our proud confidence is this: the testimony of our conscience that in holiness and godly sincerity, not in fleshly wisdom but in the grace of God, we have conducted ourselves in the world, and especially toward you” (2 Cor 1:12). Divine norms and standards developed from learning Scripture will protect you and guide you through the wonderful life God designed for you. God instructs us to be learners because learning is how you grow to spiritual maturity. “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed accurately handling the Word of Truth” (2 Tim 2:15). If you're going to live God's excellent plan for your life, you must learn His Word from a well-qualified pastor while filled with Holy Spirit. Staying filled with the Holy Spirit is essential to learning spiritual matters. Learning and obeying God's mandates will give you a wonderful life. “My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandant; for length of days and years of life and peace they will add to you” (Prov 3:1-2). Respect Scripture. The only way you'll get the Word of God in your soul is to learn it. Click for Full Transcript: https://rhem.pub/learning-grow-a8b4a2
Your mission is to communicate God's justice, righteousness, and unfailing love to those who haven't believed. This is what God expects of you. “How will they call upon Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher? How will they preach unless they are sent?” (Rom 10:14-15). If someone wants to become a Christian, somebody must tell them how to do it. This is your mission. But God won't send you unless you are prepared. You can't represent God if you don't understand God. Click for Full Transcript: https://rhem.pub/understand-mission-3e98f2
No Christian has a right to intrude on the privacy of another believer. A loss of privacy is a loss of freedom. As a believer, you have the right to be left alone. Others shouldn't intrude into your life. And you shouldn't intrude into theirs. Jesus Christ set the example when He dealt with His disciples in private. “He was explaining everything to His disciples in private” (Mark 4:34). God is the only One who needs to know the details. “For the ways of a man are before the eyes of the Lord and He watches all his paths” (Prov 5:21). Faith in Jesus Christ as your Savior guarantees you have a permanent relationship with God. You are in the “relationship circle” forever. That's eternal security. “For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus” (Gal 3:26). Once we are in God's royal family, He is free to bless us in time and eternity. Fellowship with God depends on having no unconfessed sin in your life. Sin breaks fellowship with God, and you go out of the “fellowship circle.” Confessing your sin, using 1 John 1:9, is how you get back into fellowship. “If we say we have fellowship with Him and walk in the darkness [unconfessed sin], we lie and do not practice the truth” (1 John 1:6). Staying in the “fellowship circle,” being filled with the Holy Spirit, is a volitional decision. The Holy Spirit uses the Word of God to light your path. “Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Ps 119:105).
