God offers you a divine pardon from spending eternity in the Lake of Fire. “He that believes not, the wrath of God abides on him already” (John 3:36). We are all born spiritually dead and those who have not accepted God's divine pardon by means of faith in the work of Jesus Christ remain dead. You need to be born again by accepting God's divine pardon, accepting Jesus Christ as your Savior to have eternal life. Only your Savior can rescue you from the storms you face in life. You may not have control over much in life, but you do have control over your spiritual growth. If you want to become the person God intends for you to be you need to “Study to show thyself approved unto God a workman that who does not need to be ashamed” (2 Tim 2:15). God rewards integrity and when your thoughts honor Him when you have divine viewpoint thinking, then you become what God would call an invisible hero. Christianity has nothing to do with emotion. Living the Christian life is about thinking. Only the knowledge of God's Word in your soul will sustain you during life's ups and downs. “Let this mind be in you that was also in Christ Jesus” (Phil 2:5). As you renovate your thinking you see life through a divine viewpoint rather than an emotional human viewpoint. “Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind” (Rom 12:2). Often problems arise when you don't think and act on your emotions. Your emotions were designed as appreciators in life, not to direct your intentions and actions. When you use your volition to override your conscience and you act on how you feel rather than on what you think, you are going to make bad decisions. Today, the American temperament is Impatient, irrational, irreverent, insolent, inconsiderate, ignorant and inconsistent. We are at a crossroads in America. God mandates us to deal with all people using His problem-solving devices of personal love for God and impersonal love for all mankind. “Let us love one another for love is from God and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God” (1 John 4:7). We are to use a relaxed mental attitude with all people and re-present Christ. “Do not hold the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with any partiality” (James 2:1-4). Impersonal love is loving others based on your character, not theirs. When you are treated unfairly by others you must have the spiritual strength to put it in the Lord's hands using virtue love. Impersonal love accepts and tolerates people as they are, not as you want them to be. God didn't send us to straighten people out. Motivational virtue comes from your love for God. Functional virtue is using impersonal love for others. God's given us His policies, problem-solving devices, instructions, principles, and doctrines all in written form in the Scripture so we should have no doubt about what to do. “I am looking for people that know Me and understand Me” (Jeremiah 9:24). You have a divine pardon from God. Take it! “Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Rom 10:13). You can have a wonderfully bright future through learning and living God's plan for you. Jesus Christ knew His mission was to die on the cross. Through His finished work on the cross, our salvation is guaranteed. “He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even death on the cross” (Phil 2:8). We need to live with humility also and this refers to respect for authority, fair or unfair. You need to acquire the mind of Christ, renovate your thinking, to be able to respond with humility. God disciplines us to get our attention. He does it from His love, not anger. The purpose of discipline is to wake us up to name our sins and get us back in His plan. He disciplines us to prevent us from self-destructing. “The evil deeds of a wicked man ensnare him, and the cords of his sin hold him fast” (Prov 5:22). When you are under God's divine discipline you can do two things. You can respond with humility, use rebound, and get back on track with your spiritual life. Or you can react with arrogance and blame it on anybody but yourself. Arrogance is a sin that motivates us to commit additional sins and is a huge distraction to the Christian life. Jesus Christ died for all humanity. God never discriminates. When we receive Christ as our Savior, we are given His righteousness and we are brought into the royal family of God. “The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are the children of God and if children then heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ” (Rom 8:16-17). Jesus Christ guarantees you two things: He will never leave you and He will return for you. Once you are saved you need to realize you will still sin and you need to know how to handle personal sin. Sin uncovers you and exposes you to the elements of the world. This is why you need to use problem-solving device #1 rebound. The key to staying in fellowship with God is dealing with sin at the moment you recognize you sinned and putting the Word of God in your mind. “Thy Word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against Thee” (Ps 119:11). The progression to spiritual maturity includes the stage of spiritual self-esteem, then spiritual autonomy, and spiritual maturity. With spiritual self-esteem, things will come into focus, and you'll have contentment in life. This clearly indicates you're beginning to have the capacity for life. If you are content, then God can pour blessings into your cup. “Now godliness with contentment is great gain” (1 Tim 6:6-8). Spiritual autonomy gives you perpetual mental stability. “Faith comes by hearing and hearing by means of the Word of God” (Rom 10:17). As you get older there is a change in the arena of contention inside your mind from fleshly desires to now battling aging attacks on your mentality such as frustration, bitterness, doubt, and insecurity. Only a strong spiritual life will keep you encouraged and focused as your body deteriorates. The challenge as you get older is to keep the lanes of thinking open so you can recall the Word of God you have learned and stored in your soul. God wants you to put His Word in your mind now because this divine wisdom will sustain you and give you understanding, discernment, and discretion as you get older. “For wisdom will enter your heart and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul then discretion will protect you and understanding will guard you” (Prov 2:10-11). To live right you must think right. Adversity is inevitable but stress is optional. If you have developed a FLOT line in your soul you can live a life free of stress. Problem-solving device #1 rebound is how you deal with the problem of sin. This is naming your sin to God the Father, 1 John 1:9. Being filled with the Holy Spirit and using the truth of the Word of God is how you worship God. “The day is coming when you will worship God in Spirit and in truth” (John 4:23). You are mandated to be filled with the Holy Spirit (Eph 5:18). Problem-solving device #3 is the faith-rest drill. This is you standing on the promises of God and using them as a shield to protect yourself from the strategy of the devil. “Put on the armor of God” (Eph 6:11). This is an amazing resource. Mechanics of Christianity (2012)

Christianity requires that the right thing must be done in the right way. This is God's protocol plan. God has rules for practicing your Christianity. For example, taking communion with unconfessed sin in your life, out of fellowship with God, is compromising the righteousness of God and you put yourself under extreme divine discipline. “Because of this many are weak, many are sick and many are dead” (1 Cor 11:30). The spiritual life only works off of the filling of the Holy Spirit and learning and applying the Word of God. This is the only way to advance spiritually and become an MVP for God. The M stands for momentum, meaning you hear and keep the Word of God. V is for virtue. The P represents poise and means you have the ability to think under pressure. Hatred turns off the light in your soul. “Refrain from anger, forsake wrath, fret not yourself because it only leads to evil” (James 1:19-20). Remember “God so loved the world” (John 3:16). God wants you to think a different way—not the way the rest of the world thinks. Divine viewpoint is based on your understanding of the Word of God and relating circumstances in your life to what the Bible says. “Stop thinking in terms of arrogance beyond what you should think but think in terms of humility as God has assigned to each one of us a standard of thinking from His Word” (Rom 12:3). The Bible tells you how to deal with adversity, worry and fear. Fear is you assuming an unassigned responsibility. “What time I am afraid I will trust in You” (Ps 56:3). The FLOT Line uses the military acronym as an illustration to describe how the Christian life works, how you can have a main line of resistance in your soul from learning God's Word that protects you.
