On this episode of Respect Life Radio, Deacon Geoff sits down with Dr. Paul Kengor—a husband, father, professor, and bestselling author—to discuss his newest book, American Pontiff: Pope Leo XIV and His Plan to Heal the Church. Drawing from his deep expertise in both Catholic history and American politics, Dr. Kengor offers a compelling look at the life and leadership of Pope Leo XIV, the first American pontiff. Their conversation explores the unique relationship between the papacy and political leadership, particularly the dynamic between pope and president, and what it means for both the Church and the world. Deacon Geoff and Dr. Kengor reflect on the historic election of Pope Leo XIV and the significance of his American background in shaping his approach to unity, peace, and reform. They also discuss the challenges facing this new papacy—from internal divisions within the Church to global cultural and political tensions—and the hope that Pope Leo XIV's leadership can bring healing in a divided world. Rooted in both history and faith, this episode offers insight into the future of the Church through the lens of its first American pope. I've never shared this about autism symptoms!I've just uploaded this training session to the moms in my autism liberation program. IF you're wrestling with God AND symptoms like eloping, aggression, sleepless nights, nonverbal autism, stimming...you need to watch it, too.In my community, prayers for changed symptoms are answered every month (I'll share one of the most amazing case stories in the next episode. ) In this episode, I'm sharing why and how...I only realized this profound truth this week. For me it is a breakthrough for autism recovery.'The Bible has sacred information about your child, the symptoms, and how to deal with them. These verses reveal how to block healing and how to surrender to God's will. It's INSANELY FASCINATING. It's linked to neuroscience, your nervous system, Luke's Gospel, trauma healing, stress types, and emotional healing.Autism symptoms are supposed to bring you closer to God and reveal His plan. If we're focusing on the outcome, trying to get rid of symptoms, we're rebuking THE VERY CROSS that God is using to reveal HIS PLAN and HIS PURPOSE FOR YOUR LIFE RIGHT NOW. This is HUGE. The disciples made similar mistakes when they rebuked the children, and Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me". Pope Leo XIV, the first American Pope, has been seen as a stabilizing force in the Catholic Church after a tumultuous papacy of Pope Francis. And while he is disciplined, thoughtful, and measured in his words and deeds, perhaps more traditional than Pope Francis, he has also been very vocal about his concerns about the actions of political leaders in the United State and elsewhere, as evidenced by his back and forth recently with President Trump. His watchword as Pope seems to be to spread the Jesus’s gospel of peace in an era of conflict. How he combines his traditional liturgical leanings with a willingness to comment on the negative effects of war over diplomacy, his concern about the ravaging of the environment, and the plight of immigrants here and abroad, will be an interesting juxtaposition as the years go on. With us today to discuss what to expect from this Pope is Paul Kengor, Ph.D., author of “American Pontiff: Pope Leo XIV and His Plan to Heal the Church.”
God has used a shepherd, a fisherman, a poor widow and many others to move His Kingdom forward based on His Plan and he can use you to, if you are willing! 1 Kings 17:8-9 8 Then the word of the Lord came to him, saying, 9 “Arise, go to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and dwell there. See, I have commanded a widow there to provide for you.”
The President of the United States Donald Trump took to social media to criticize Pope Leo XIV for his disapproval of the war in Iran and the president’s directives on that. Trump called the Pope “weak on crime and terrible for foreign policy” saying “Leo should get his act together as Pope, use Common Sense, stop catering to the Radical Left, and focus on being a Great Pope, not a Politician” after the Pope expressed to reporters that he hoped Trump would seek an “off ramp” in Iran and that Trump’s threat to eradicate a “whole civilization” was “truly unacceptable”. Dr. Paul Kengor, a Catholic historian, and NY Times best-selling author who wrote the first biography on the 1st American pope, “American Pontiff: Pope Leo XIV and His Plan to Heal the Church” joined us to discuss!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Christmas Songs Pt. 1: Mary's Song By Louie Marsh, 12-7-2025 In response to the situation at hand Mary recited a song which praised God's favor on her and her people. "The Magnificat," as the song is called, consists almost entirely of Old Testament allusions and quotations. The same is true of the songs of Zechariah and Simeon. Mary's song has similarities to Hannah's song. 1 Sam. 2:1-10 – First four verses on the PPT 1) Gratitude – for a PERSONAL relationship with God. "46And Mary said, "My soul magnifies the Lord, 47and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior," (Luke 1:46–47, ESV) Some have wondered how this young woman managed to speak these insightful words. We can take this beautiful song as coming from the lips of a woman who deeply loved God and to whom God gave special understanding of what he was doing. Just as the Holy Spirit gave Elizabeth insight, so Mary received it as well "12But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, 13who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God." (John 1:12–13, ESV) 2) Hope – because appearances are DECEPTIVE. "48for he has looked on the humble estate of his servant…" (Luke 1:48a, ESV) · The FOOLISHNESS of God. "25For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men."…"27But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong;" (1 Corinthians 1:25,27, ESV) 3) Wonder – over GOD'S PLAN for my life. "48… from now on all generations will call me blessed;" (Luke 1:48b, ESV) When Mary said, "From now on all generations will call me blessed," was she being proud? No, she was recognizing and accepting the gift God had given her. If Mary had denied her privileged position, she would have been throwing God's blessing back at him. Pride is refusing to accept God's gifts or taking credit for what God has done; humility is accepting the gifts and using them to praise and serve God. Don't deny, belittle, or ignore your gifts. Thank God for them and use them to his glory "11For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." (Jeremiah 29:11, ESV) 4) Excitement – that GOD'S POWER accomplishes His Plan! "49for he who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is his name." (Luke 1:49, ESV) "29For this I toil, struggling with all his energy that he powerfully works within me." (Colossians 1:29, ESV) 5) Relief – I'm FORGIVEN & RESTARTED by His Mercy! "50And his mercy is for those who fear him from generation to generation." (Luke 1:50, ESV) THE BIG PICTURE 1) Peace – God is in CONTROL. "51He has shown strength with his arm; he has scattered the proud in the thoughts of their hearts; 52he has brought down the mighty from their thrones and exalted those of humble estate;" (Luke 1:51–52, ESV) 2) Joy – God EXALTS the humble. "53he has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich he has sent away empty." (Luke 1:53, ESV) 3) Faith – God will NEVER leave me. "54He has helped his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy, 55as he spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and to his offspring forever."" (Luke 1:54–55, ESV) "18And Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age."" (Matthew 28:18–20, ESV)
Don't Fight God! | His Word, His Plan, His People Through the story of Peter's escape from prison and Herod's collapse, we're reminded that fighting God always ends in loss—but trusting Him leads to freedom. If you've been feeling stuck, anxious, or unsure, lean into this message and let God lead. Key Insights: * Fighting God only leads to loss—even if it feels like you're winning in the moment. * God's power can release you from any physical, emotional, or spiritual bondage. * Earnest, persistent prayer activates God's movement in ways we often underestimate. * There is peace available in the storm when you truly trust God to lead. * You can't glorify yourself and expect God to bless it—His glory is non-negotiable. Living Your Calling | Mission Sunday | His Word, His Plan, His People We take a deeper look at what it means to live your calling based on Acts 11. Hear from our mission partners in Kenya and Guatemala, explore the heartbeat behind global missions, and be encouraged to step into what God is already doing. Living your calling starts with small steps—and it starts now. 4 Key Insights: • Living your calling starts with obedience, not certainty, so take the step in front of you. • God uses ordinary people in unexpected places to do extraordinary things for His kingdom. • Your workplace, neighborhood, or school may be your Antioch and your unique place of influence. • The gospel spreads most through intentional relationships and community support, not just programs. • Generosity and service are natural results of living a life surrendered to Christ. Jake Zwaagstra is the CEO of TriCelta Development and a veteran builder of complex hospitality projects from the Las Vegas Strip to tribal mega-developments. He's worked both GC-side and owner-side, translating vision into budgets, drawings into buildings, and chaos into opening days. Susan and Jake talk about function over flair and momentum over mayhem. What You'll Learn About: • The owner's-eye view that changes everything about building • Lessons hotel development can steal from nuclear projects • The real difference between a project manager and a development manager • What developers actually do day to day on hotel builds • Smart ways to stay ahead of supply-chain chaos • Why front-desk mockups save years of operator frustration • The three-part formula for better design decisions • How model rooms power everything from IT to marketing • Why tech-forward hotels still need human touch • How to rescue a luxury project from $1,100-per-foot wallpaper Our Top Three Takeaways 1. Development Management Is More Than Construction Jake distinguishes development management from project management—it's about guiding the project from concept to completion, not just managing timelines and contractors. His team's role is to translate an owner's vision into an operationally sound, financially viable, and buildable reality. They stay several steps ahead of potential roadblocks—whether that's tariffs, supply chain issues, or union disputes—to keep the project moving and protect the owner's investment. 2. Function and Long-Term Operations Trump Aesthetics Jake's philosophy is clear: never "value engineer" something that affects the operator's ability to run the property. Early decisions—like front desk ergonomics, model room mockups, and material choices—should be made with the day-two operator in mind. He prioritizes function over form, lead time over looks, and performance over preference to ensure hotels are built to operate smoothly and sustainably long after the ribbon-cutting. 3. Communication and Accountability Are the Secret Weapons Lessons from outside hospitality, such as his experience building a nuclear enrichment facility, reinforced Jake's belief in over-communication and structured accountability. His "Plan of the Day" approach—daily 15-minute check-ins to clarify goals and track follow-through—keeps massive projects aligned and moving. That same mindset applies to hospitality development: clear expectations, daily progress, and follow-up ensure no one loses sight of the big picture, even on complex, multi-year builds. Paul Persecuting to Proclaiming | His Word, His Plan, His People How does someone go from violently opposing Christianity to becoming one of its greatest ambassadors? This week, we walk through the story of Saul's radical transformation in Acts 9. We explore the divine contact that stopped him in his tracks, the deep conviction that followed, and the clear commission that launched his ministry. Saul's story is a reminder that no one is too far from God's reach—and that obedience often begins with simply taking the next step. Key Insights: 1. God initiates transformation even when we're not seeking Him. 2. Conviction isn't just guilt, it's clarity. 3. Surrender is the start of purpose. 4. Your past doesn't disqualify you from being used by God. 5. God often gives clarity after we move. Can God count on you to be an MVP in His Plan? An MVP is a Christian with momentum, virtue, and poise. Momentum in your spiritual life comes from learning and applying God's Word consistently. Virtue is demonstrated through a personal love for God and an impersonal love for others. Poise is the ability to think God's Word under pressure. An MVP for God, “Retain the standard of sound words which you have heard from me, in the faith and love which are in Christ Jesus. Guard, through the Holy Spirit who dwells in us, the treasure which has been entrusted to you” (2 Tim 1:13-14). Download Transcript: https://rhem.pub/mvp-god-7c9578

Thanksgiving is a time for reflection. When asked the question why we are thankful, or what we are thankful for, we can think about things or we can think about relationships. When children are asked the question, they will often respond with things they have received like toys. However, as one matures, and we contemplate our lives, the importance of relationships becomes much more important to us. Recently, one of my best friends passed away, Otis McQueen. Otis was an anointed Bible teacher who taught me more about the Scripture than anyone else in my life. More than that, he kindled a much keener desire in my heart to know the Word in greater depth. For this I am deeply thankful. Come listen to my personal story of what I am thankful for in my life. Perhaps you can relate to some of it. In any case, I trust you will be blessed to some of the more philosophical reasons why I am thankful today in ways which had previously never occurred to me. My consciousness of deeper relationships with God my Father and deeper truths He has revealed to me in some of my mediations have motivated to dig deeper into His Word and His Plan and the future of my life as well as the future for humanity. At the beginning and end of this podcast I ask the question of my audience: Who is your Daddy? Reflect on that one question and you will discover that it will change the trajectory of your life when you find the truthful answer to that question. Your destiny is tied to the answer. Papa Tom

"Surrender is not surrendering control. Surrendering is surrendering to the Control that's already built into you."* Surrendering to The Plan that's already built into you-- His Plan that's manifesting through you. Knowing that He is among you, in the midst of you, changes you, and everything around you. You see clearly that there is no 'you'. Only Love, fully operating. Nothing happening, gloriously, perfectly. I Love you, nik p.s. My Silence is never not here for you to borrow, to match, to mimic until you see your own clearly. Relax into your own. That Silence becomes your Home. And then It becomes a home. It takes the shape of one. Listen. Support the show! ▶▶https://www.patreon.com/goodmornings *"You don't have to make things happen. Surrender is not surrendering control. Surrendering is surrendering to the Control that's already built into you. That's why you go with the flow. The current already knows where you need to go. You don't need to make things happen. Believing that you need to make things happen is resistance to the current. Everything that's relevant for you is already contained within the current's energy. Just go with the flow. Your life will unfold naturally. You will respond to it in a positive way. Synchronicity will abound. Everything that needs to happen in your life, that's relevant for you to experience, will happen in perfect timing. You don't need to make it work. Let it work." - Bashar "Father, I am Thy name hallowed; I am Thy kingdom come; I am Thy will realized; I am on Earth as I am in heaven." - The Essene Mary "t is my will therefore that men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands without wrath and doubting." -1 Timothy 2:8 W"hat are you trying to control that God wants you to surrender?"- @Craigroeschel "When you have emptied all the content - thoughts, desires, memories, projections, hopes - when all is gone, for the first time, you find yourself, because you are nothing but that pure space, that virgin space within you. Unburdened by anything, that contentless Consciousness, that's what you are! Seeing it, realizing it, one is free, one is freedom, one is joy, one is Bliss. Istrouma Baptist Church (BR) Mar 31, 2024 ========== March 31 | Easter at Istrouma Welcome! We're glad you've joined us today for our Sunday morning worship service! For more information about Istrouma, go to istrouma.org or contact us at info@istrouma.org. We glorify God by making disciples of all nations. ========== Connection Card https://istrouma.org/myinfo March 31, 2024 Tim Keith Mark 5:1-15 They came to the other side of the sea, to the region of the Gerasenes. As soon as he got out of the boat, a man with an unclean spirit came out of the tombs and met him. He lived in the tombs, and no one was able to restrain him anymore — not even with a chain — because he often had been bound with shackles and chains, but had torn the chains apart and smashed the shackles. No one was strong enough to subdue him. Night and day among the tombs and on the mountains, he was always crying out and cutting himself with stones. When he saw Jesus from a distance, he ran and knelt down before him. And he cried out with a loud voice, “What do you have to do with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg you before God, don't torment me!” For he had told him, “Come out of the man, you unclean spirit!” “What is your name?” he asked him. “My name is Legion,” he answered him, “because we are many.” And he begged him earnestly not to send them out of the region. A large herd of pigs was there, feeding on the hillside. The demons begged him, “Send us to the pigs, so that we may enter them.” So he gave them permission, and the unclean spirits came out and entered the pigs. The herd of about two thousand rushed down the steep bank into the sea and drowned there. The men who tended them ran off and reported it in the town and the countryside, and people went to see what had happened. They came to Jesus and saw the man who had been demon-possessed, sitting there, dressed and in his right mind; and they were afraid. Leviticus 16:8-10 After Aaron casts lots for the two goats, one lot for the Lord and the other for an uninhabitable place, he is to present the goat chosen by lot for the Lord and sacrifice it as a sin offering. But the goat chosen by lot for an uninhabitable place is to be presented alive before the Lord to make atonement with it by sending it into the wilderness for an uninhabitable place. Hebrews 10:1-4 Since the law has only a shadow of the good things to come, and not the reality itself of those things, it can never perfect the worshipers by the same sacrifices they continually offer year after year. Otherwise, wouldn't they have stopped being offered, since the worshipers, purified once and for all, would no longer have any consciousness of sins? But in the sacrifices there is a reminder of sins year after year. For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins. Matthew 27:16 At that time they had a notorious prisoner called Barabbas. Galatians 4:6 And because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba, Father!” Acts 2:23-24 Though he was delivered up according to God's determined plan and foreknowledge, you used lawless people to nail him to a cross and kill him. God raised him up, ending the pains of death, because it was not possible for him to be held by death. Romans 8:1-2 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus, because the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death. Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 10:9-10 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. Romans 10:13 for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” God Has A Plan. Jesus is His Plan. What is Your Plan?
