Summary This episode explores how healing, growth, and maturity happen within the Family of God — not in isolation, but through love, correction, and openness to one another. The speakers discuss how Christ works in us and through one another, not “from the sky,” and how true oneness in the Body of Christ requires humility, confrontation, forgiveness, and submission to His lordship expressed through our spiritual relationships. The family becomes the instrument of God's healing when we let His Spirit bring both correction and restoration in love. Show Notes Blind spots are part of growth — we all have areas we can't see; the issue is how we respond when others lovingly point them out.Christ in us — not in the sky. The presence and ministry of Christ flow through the Body of believers.Confrontation is love in action — correction from others is not rejection but an opportunity for transformation.Spiritual oneness brings clarity — agreement in the Spirit brings freedom, flow, and the anointing.Wounds from friends heal — true family love sometimes hurts, but it leads to purity of heart and deeper unity. The shepherd's heart — watching over one another is essential as we move forward together in the Kingdom. Quotes “It's Christ in us, not Christ in the sky. He's put Himself and His presence in us.” — Ron“We can't do it by ourselves. We have to do it with each other.” — Ken“These wounds I received in the house of my friends.” — Lois“Create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me.” — Debbie“We're not going to be deceived because we're one.” — Ken“They're not rejecting you — they're walking with you through it.” — Ron“Let them...
In this stirring and deeply encouraging Advent message, Pastor Karl continues the series The King Has Come with a raw and life-giving exploration of the second great gift Jesus brings: peace.Turning to the familiar yet profound scene in Luke 2:8–20, Pastor Karl invites us into the midnight terror of ordinary shepherds—suddenly confronted by the blinding glory of God—and shows how the very first words from heaven that night were not “Merry Christmas,” but “Fear not.” That first Christmas did not begin with sentimental calm; it began with paralyzing, mega-fear. And right there, in the middle of stacked-on-stacked fear, the angel announced good news of great joy: a Savior has been born who is Christ the Lord, the Prince of Peace. With pastoral tenderness and unflinching honesty, Pastor Karl unmasks fear as the mortal enemy of peace—how it magnifies threats, shrinks our view of God, and paints our future in colors darker than God ever intended. Yet the gospel is stronger: peace is not the absence of trouble but the presence of a Person. Peace is not something Jesus gives; peace is who Jesus is—and He gives Himself.Through the shepherds' journey from terror to testimony, we're given clear, scriptural paths out of fear and into the unshakable peace of Christ: speaking God's truth over fear's lies, refusing to agree with the spirit of fear, drawing near to Jesus through spiritual disciplines, and taking bold steps of obedience that move us against comfort and toward surrender. This is a word for everyone whose heart has been ruled by anxiety, worst-case scenarios, or the quiet fears that steal joy—especially in this season. A tender yet urgent call to stop trusting the unknown future to our own control and start trusting it to the known God who entered our fear as a baby in a manger.Because the King has come, fear does not get the final word. Peace does. And when the Prince of Peace takes over a life, what spills out is no longer fear—but praise, testimony, and unshakable confidence in the goodness of God.Essential listening for anyone who longs to trade fear for the peace that passes all understanding this Christmas.Watch all our sermons on our youtube channel "Flipside Christian Church"Join us in person 9:00am & 10:30am every Sunday morning.37193 Ave 12 #3h, Madera, CA 93636For more visit us at flipside.churchFor more podcasts visit flipsidepodcasts.transistor.fm

The Family of God (Matthew 12:46-50) | Philip Van Steenburgh
We don't just belong to God's family, we're called to become a healing one, growing into our full potential together. In Wellspring's final week in the book of 2nd Corinthians and our “Still Called” series, we look at Paul's final words and take time for our own restoration in a gently guided “fruit to root” reflection. (2Corinthians 13:11-14)
“Suffering Victoriously As Christians… In Your Marriage and the Family of God!” Last week we introduced this lesson but this morning we will finish looking at the critically important human institutions of marriage and the church which is the family of God. Remembering that we are looking at each of these human institutions, created by God, for God’s purpose we will examine marriage in the same light. Marriage is also designed to fulfill the LORD’s ultimate purpose. The husband and wife are to be subject to their God given purpose and role in the marriage relationship. Submission to God’s will in any relationship means the sacrifice of “Self.” In a person’s sacrifice in marriage, to be in submission to the LORD’s will, there is often pain of many different kinds. We will focus on both the husband and wife in the LORD’s call to submit to Him and His will while serving each other in marriage. To fulfill His will we must also examine the critical spiritual nature and adornment of the wife and the husband as God’s word directs. We will conclude our lesson by examining our call to fulfill God’s purpose as Christians in context to being a part of His family. We will describe the purpose of our submission to one another and what the nature of that submission looks like. The post Submission in Marriage & the Family of God! Part 2 appeared first on Pleasant Hill Church of Christ.
“Suffering Victoriously As Christians… In Your Marriage and the Family of God!” In the past few weeks we have learned that we are to be in subjection to every human institution such as civil governments and the institutions were we are employed. 1 John Chapter 5 "The Family of God" by Mission Ebenezer Family Church
In today's message, Pastor Bill Francavilla unpacks an essential biblical truth:You need the global Church… and you need your local church family.Drawing from Romans 12, Ephesians 4, John 10, Luke 9, and the stories of Mary, Martha, and Lazarus, this sermon explores:• The difference between the global family of God and your local church family• Why both matter deeply for your spiritual growth• How God uses real relationships, real people, and real community to shape our lives• How unity, humility, and covenant commitment strengthen the body of Christ• What happens when we stop being “attenders” and become true familyYou'll hear stories about God's people showing up in the Badlands, in airports, across continents — and right here in our own church. Because the local church isn't just a place you go… it's a family you belong to.Key Scripture:Romans 12:15–16“Rejoice with those who rejoice; weep with those who weep… Live in harmony with one another.”Welcome to Living Hope Church! Paul lays out for Timothy that the church should treat one another as family and care for those who would not care for themselves!
In this powerful message, Pastor Bill Francavilla continues our Family of God series with a challenge to move from consumer Christianity to true commitment.Drawing from John 6 and Matthew 16, we see that following Jesus has always required more than curiosity — it requires counting the cost and staying even when things get hard. From the crowd that walked away after the feeding of the 5,000 to the early church that devoted themselves to one another in Acts 2, this message reminds us that true disciples don't just attend church — they become the church.Commitment brings growth. It builds trust, stability, maturity, and fruitfulness. When we stop shopping for the perfect church and start becoming a faithful one, the world sees Jesus in us.#Commitment #Discipleship #Faithfulness #LivingHopeChurch #TheRockSeries #FamilyOfGodWelcome to Living Hope Church! By Fred Reeves - God's plan from the beginning is to eventually bring mankind into his family. As members of God's church, we are currently called "Children of God." What does that mean and what does God require of us in this lifetime to eventually become His spiritual children in the family of God.

But all serve one purpose: to glorify God.From Paul's bold ministry to Ananias' quiet obedience, we see that greatness in the Kingdom isn't measured by fame but by faithfulness. God's vision of family goes deeper than biology—it's the very heartbeat of His Kingdom. In Christ we are adopted into God's family, recipients of His healing, and entrusted with passing His covenant love to the next generation.
