Robby and Jonathan are back with another episode of Course Corrections! They take us on a candid journey through their pursuit to get better at golf. Picking up from Jonathan's initial fear of being told “you suck so bad” by a golf instructor, we follow his breakthrough after taking his first lesson—and how it fundamentally changed his approach to the game. From revisiting the basics with his gap wedge to embracing body-driven swing mechanics, Jonathan shares his aha moments and the sometimes hilarious perils of golf practice. The episode covers more than just technique: the guys get real about their own struggles with consistency, motivation, and sticking to training regimens like The Stack System. Jonathan openly admits to his ups and downs—days he felt like quitting golf entirely, emergency calls for lessons, and unexpected victories. There's a heartfelt celebration when he finally achieves his goal of breaking 90, and not just anywhere, but at The Old Course in St. Andrews.Of course, the conversation dives into experimentation, like Jonathan's ambitious “nine-iron experiment” with single-length club shafts. Robby and Jonathan also reflect on lessons learned from playing with accomplished golfers, smarter decision making on the course, and the real weight of data from tools like Arccos.Whether you're a weekend hacker or someone on a mission to lower your handicap, this episode is packed with laughs, honest assessments, practical takeaways, and a reminder that the real joy in golf often comes from the journey—and the company—you keep.BestBall Links:•https://BestBall.com•https://linktr.ee/BestBall•https://bestball.substack.com - Subscribe to Par 3 Thursdays!Friends of BestBall:•B. Episode #453: Trustware vs. Adware: Toward a Humane Stack for Human Life

Crazy Wisdom

On this episode of the Crazy Wisdom podcast, I, Stewart Alsop, sat down once again with Aaron Lowry for our third conversation, and it might be the most expansive yet. We touched on the cultural undercurrents of transhumanism, the fragile trust structures behind AI and digital infrastructure, and the potential of 3D printing with metals and geopolymers as a material path forward. Aaron shared insights from his hands-on restoration work, our shared fascination with Amish tech discernment, and how course-correcting digital dependencies can restore sovereignty. We also explored what it means to design for long-term human flourishing in a world dominated by misaligned incentives. For those interested in following Aaron's work, he's most active on Twitter at @Aaron_Lowry.Check out this GPT we trained on the conversation!Timestamps00:00 – Stewart welcomes Aaron Lowry back for his third appearance. They open with reflections on cultural shifts post-COVID, the breakdown of trust in institutions, and a growing societal impulse toward individual sovereignty, free speech, and transparency.05:00 – The conversation moves into the changing political landscape, specifically how narratives around COVID, Trump, and transhumanism have shifted. Aaron introduces the idea that historical events are often misunderstood due to our tendency to segment time, referencing Dan Carlin's quote, “everything begins in the middle of something else.”10:00 – They discuss how people experience politics differently now due to the Internet's global discourse, and how Aaron avoids narrow political binaries in favor of structural and temporal nuance. They explore identity politics, the crumbling of party lines, and the erosion of traditional social anchors.15:00 – Shifting gears to technology, Aaron shares updates on 3D printing, especially the growing maturity of metal printing and geopolymers. He highlights how these innovations are transforming fields like automotive racing and aerospace, allowing for precise, heat-resistant, custom parts.20:00 – The focus turns to mechanical literacy and the contrast between abstract digital work and embodied craftsmanship. Stewart shares his current tension between abstract software projects (like automating podcast workflows with AI) and his curiosity about the Amish and Mennonite approach to technology.25:00 – Aaron introduces the idea of a cultural “core of integrated techne”—technologies that have been refined over time and aligned with human flourishing. He places Amish discernment on a spectrum between Luddite rejection and transhumanist acceleration, emphasizing the value of deliberate integration.30:00 – The discussion moves to AI again, particularly the concept of building local, private language models that can persistently learn about and serve their user without third-party oversight. Aaron outlines the need for trust, security, and stateful memory to make this vision work.35:00 – Stewart expresses frustration with the dominance of companies like Google and Facebook, and how owning the Jarvis-like personal assistant experience is critical. Aaron recommends options like GrapheneOS on a Pixel 7 and reflects on the difficulty of securing hardware at the chip level.40:00 – They explore software development and the problem of hidden dependencies. Aaron explains how digital systems rest on fragile, often invisible material infrastructure and how that fragility is echoed in the complexity of modern software stacks.45:00 – The concept of “always be reducing dependencies” is expanded. Aaron suggests the real goal is to reduce untrustworthy dependencies and recognize which are worth cultivating. Trust becomes the key variable in any resilient system, digital or material.50:00 – The final portion dives into incentives. They critique capitalism's tendency to exploit value rather than build aligned systems. Aaron distinguishes rivalrous games from infinite games and suggests the future depends on building systems that are anti-rivalrous—where ideas compete, not people.55:00 – They wrap up with reflections on course correction, spiritual orientation, and cultural reintegration. Stewart suggests titling the episode around infinite games, and Aaron shares where listeners can find him online.Key InsightsTranshumanism vs. Techne Integration: Aaron frames the modern moment as a tension between transhumanist enthusiasm and a more grounded relationship to technology, rooted in "techne"—practical wisdom accumulated over time. Rather than rejecting all new developments, he argues for a continuous course correction that aligns emerging technologies with deep human values like truth, goodness, and beauty. The Amish and Mennonite model of communal tech discernment stands out as a countercultural but wise approach—judging tools by their long-term effects on community, rather than novelty or entertainment.3D Printing as a Material Frontier: While most of the 3D printing world continues to refine filaments and plastic-based systems, Aaron highlights a more exciting trajectory in printed metals and geopolymers. These technologies are maturing rapidly and finding serious application in domains like Formula One, aerospace, and architectural experimentation. His conversations with others pursuing geopolymer 3D printing underscore a resurgence of interest in materially grounded innovation, not just digital abstraction.Digital Infrastructure is Physical: Aaron emphasizes a point often overlooked: that all digital systems rest on physical infrastructure—power grids, servers, cables, switches. These systems are often fragile and loaded with hidden dependencies. Recognizing the material base of digital life brings a greater sense of responsibility and stewardship, rather than treating the internet as some abstract, weightless realm. This shift in awareness invites a more embodied and ecological relationship with our tools.Local AI as a Trustworthy Companion: There's a compelling vision of a Jarvis-like local AI assistant that is fully private, secure, and persistent. For this to function, it must be disconnected from untrustworthy third-party cloud systems and trained on a personal, context-rich dataset. Aaron sees this as a path toward deeper digital agency: if we want machines that truly serve us, they need to know us intimately—but only in systems we control. Privacy, persistent memory, and alignment to personal values become the bedrock of such a system.Dependencies Shape Power and Trust: A recurring theme is the idea that every system—digital, mechanical, social—relies on a web of dependencies. Many of these are invisible until they fail. Aaron's mantra, “always be reducing dependencies,” isn't about total self-sufficiency but about cultivating trustworthy dependencies. The goal isn't zero dependence, which is impossible, but discerning which relationships are resilient, personal, and aligned with your values versus those that are extractive or opaque.Incentives Must Be Aligned with the Good: A core critique is that most digital services today—especially those driven by advertising—are fundamentally misaligned with human flourishing. They monetize attention and personal data, often steering users toward addiction or ...

#70 [Inside the Mind] Jody Martins: Progress versus Perfection, Reframing Failure, and Staying Focused Amid Countelss Distractions Today, I'm joined by Mental Performance Coach and Host of The Performance Formula Podcast, Jody Martins.  In today's episode, you'll learn: How to create a meaningful morning routine that sets the tone for your day. Why copying someone else's routine—like Tiger or Bryson—isn't the answer. The difference between striving for progress vs. striving for perfection. Practical strategies to break free from negative self-talk during a round. The power of mindfulness and micro-moments to re-center your focus. How to reframe failure as feedback and an essential step toward mastery. How to develop a "smart bomb" focus to stay on track amid external distractions. Get your pencils ready and start listening.  P.S. Curious to learn more about the results my clients are experiencing and what they say about working with me? Read more here. More About Jody From the earliest days as a coach, Jody has had a deep fascination with performance. His coaching journey started as a cricket coach and very early on he realised that performance is not just about having good skills and fitness. He learned that the mind (thought and feelings) or rather lack of mind during performance is a far greater indicator of performance. Now he partners with athletes who want to understand themselves and in doing so, design and build the lifestyle and processes that allow them to show up as their best consistently. www.jodymartins.co  @realjodymartins @performanceformulapodcast Play to Your Potential On (and Off) the Course Schedule a Mindset Coaching Discovery Call Subscribe to the More Pars than Bogeys Newsletter Download my “Play Your Best Round” free hypnosis audio recording. Connect your habits to your long-term goals, like improving focus or building resilience. Perfection Is the Enemy of Growth: Instead of aiming for perfection, aim for consistent improvement. Learn from your mistakes rather than fearing them. Fail Beautifully, Learn Relentlessly: View failure as feedback. Each missed shot or poor round holds valuable lessons if you're willing to reflect. Redirect Your Focus with the W.I.N. Acronym: When distractions arise, ask yourself: "What's Important Next?" This helps you stay grounded and present for your next shot. Self-Awareness Builds Confidence: Notice negative self-talk and consciously shift to neutral or positive thinking. Practicing mindfulness helps you catch and redirect unhelpful thoughts. Choose Your Experience on the Course: Decide how you want to feel during your round—calm, focused, or joyful—and set the intention to create that experience, regardless of your score. Small Moments of Stillness Lead to Big Changes: Incorporate micro-moments of stillness—like focusing on your breath or tuning into the sound of the wind—to reset your mind and stay present. Key Quotes: "Routine becomes easier when it's tied to something bigger than yourself."  "Perfectionism breeds mediocrity. Progress is the real pursuit."  "The inner game drives the outer game."  "Choose the experience you want to have before you step onto the course." "Failure isn't final—it's feedback."  "Self-awareness is like upgrading your smart bomb—it improves your accuracy in life."  "Neutrality in your thoughts helps you build positive momentum over time."  Time Stamps: 00:00 Morning Routines and Their Impact 09:49 The Pursuit of Perfection vs. Growth Mindset 20:12 Choosing Your Experience in Sports 25:13 The Journey to Self-Awareness 29:05 Meditation and Focus: A Path to Clarity 35:41 Harnessing the Mind: Strategies for Course Correction 42:34 What's Important Next: A Focused Approach to Performance

We have phrases we use to describe when someone or something is not working as expected. We say something is off the rails when things are going wrong, or if someone gets distracted, we say they got sidetracked. This phrase comes from the railroad industry. A train becoming derailed is a huge problem. A sidetrack is less of a problem. It is a section of tracks where cars are moved to rearrange the train or store them out of the way. The cars stored on the side track are not intended to stay there forever and will eventually need to be moved back onto the main tracks to become functional again. When applied to non-railroad situations, we can find ourselves sidetracked by people or things in life that are not important. Our world is full of distractions. The enemy knows this and will use every opportunity to put things in our way to sidetrack us. These distractions are not necessarily sinful in and of themselves, but they prevent us from fulfilling God's purpose. If we look around and see we are off course, we must change direction to get back on course. Our texts today were Jesus' first and last interactions with the disciples. They occurred in the same place, by the same body of water, and had similar events. In the first encounter, Jesus calls them from a career of fishing to make them fishers of men: to reach lost souls. In John 21, many things had occurred in the previous few days. The disciples have seen the last supper, the betrayal by Judas, Peter denying Jesus, the trial, crucifixion, death on the cross, the empty tomb, and Jesus manifesting himself to them after rising from the dead. The disciples are confused, scared, and unsure of what to do now. They decide to go fishing. They were exactly where they were when Jesus found them. Jesus had done all He said He would do, and now the disciples had to return to being fishers of men. Are you where you thought you would be? Are you where you want to be? What are you willing to do to get back on track? Are you ready to make a course correction?

[SEGMENT 1-1] Words and songs 1     Any words you mispronounced as a child. Pulla was pillow for me. My grandparents called ushers, “urshers”. I'm going to let you folks in on a secret…before every segment, a song pops in my head randomly, and it actually kind of guides my conversation. I consider these inspirations from God. It's so random, and covers all types of music, and it's not necessarily words. The reason why I thought of this, is the song Sing a Song by Earth Wind and Fire popped in my head, and I realized that I didn't know most of the lyrics. I just rhymed my way through much of the song. How many songs do you think you actually know the lyrics to? My wife knows the words to a GAZILLION songs. And boy does she love pointing it out when I'm mis-lyricking a song!   [SEGMENT 1-2] Words and songs 2   I looked it up. The most mispronounced words Cache, barometer, GIF, salmon, often, hyperbole, meme, epitome, colonel, mischievous (mischievous), says (says/sez) nuclear, cacophony, synonymous, eLECtoral, preSTIgious I know all the words to Bohemian Rhapsody, but I have no idea what they mean. I know the entire song to rapper's delight Remember when the only way you could get lyrics was to BUY THE ALBUM  [SEGMENT 1-3] Course correction 1 Are you watching the trends on various issues Trump ran on during the campaign. To put it mildly, we are winning on all of them. The most glaring to me, and there are many, is that the media has been dying a slow death. That death got accelerated by the Donald Trump devastation of Kamala Harris and the cabal to put her in place to face him. That same cabal put Biden in office in the 2020 coup, and were brazen enough to try it again. It should have been easier, since they technically had a better candidate—a low bar, to say the least. Up to the point of the 2024 election, the media barely hung on. But the precarious nature of their situation was easy to spot. The desperation by them to destroy Trump at all costs. Their efforts backfired in ways they never anticipated. MSNBC is in freefall, and up for sale. Rumors are that Musk might buy it, a prospect that should scare the heck out of Fox News. Consider how fast Twitter gets news, and then picture Musk revamping the entirety of news, given his knowledge of social media. Fox News would be out of business within 5 years. Even more shocking is the rumor that MSNBC forced Rachel Maddow to take a $5M per year pay cut. To understand how badly Democrats must make us believe they are relevant, they are willing to pay a hack like Maddow $30 million per year (now $25m) to pretend that she is relevant. But I doubt you find that shocking when you consider what they paid to try to make Kamala Harris appear relevant. More on that in a bit. Post-election, one can actually witness Democrats in their death throes. Yet, the lapdog media still continue to propagandize when they know their lies no longer work. With every effort they make to fake people out, MAGA chalks up more wins, and exposes the dirty underbelly of Leftism. Take President Trump's 91 indictments and 34 “convictions”, for example. The “felon” strategy was a useful as a bat in a tennis match, yet recently Adam “Russian collusion” Schiff is throwing hissy fits, because he realizes the futility of trying to paint President Trump as a felon. Trump cases are being postponed, but only to limit the damage for when they are eventually tossed. I'm no fortune-teller in predicting that every case against Trump will be dropped. Regardless, if I were Trump, I wouldn't let a single case go on a technicality. I'd make the prosecutors defend their nonsense, as I exposed their dirt and them, one by one. Now that Trump has control of government, he has the receipts to prove the conspiracy against them. And as Trump wins case by case, the Left will die 91 painful deaths. Bragg has NO credibility, nor does Jacks Smith, Fani Willis, or Tish James. They've all been exposed as tools of the cabal. And they've all lost their cases in the court of public opinion currently, so all that's left is to actually lose them in court. Sadly, as I've written they may still choose to target Trump to their own demise. In what I consider another trend to watch, Trump exposed more of the cabal and the Uniparty by sacrificing Matt Gaetz. Unlike Trump's first administration, the Trump team will know upfront who the backstabbers are. Trump will get loyalists in place, and replacing Gaetz will likely be Pam Bondi. She is an excellent choice, and Democrats have already started attacking her. She will hold Leftists responsible. As for their destruction of Gaetz, Democrats created a mortal enemy. A crusader. Because Matt Gaetz isn't gone. He vows to expose the insider trading of the Democrats. And who knows what else he will expose with the help of a genuine DOJ.  [SEGMENT 1-4] Course correction 2   [X] SB – Bragg case to get tossed Leftists are claiming that Trump ESCAPED justice, since 34 cases are going to be tossed. Eventually 91 cases will be tossed. I think they will blow a gasket, if we ever learn the truth about Hunter Biden. I believe BOTH sides don't want us to know that a VP and ultimately a President sold America out.   But Trump's winning shows up in other trends like the fight against the LGBT movement. Trump made powerful statements about the Fed getting out of the LGBTQ+ business, particularly in the military. But he's also been very outspoken about this issue as it relates to DEI. If you're keeping score, have you seen the number of colleges fighting back on the trans issues, as it relates to women's sport? Almost daily at least one school declares that its all-women team will not compete against teams with transsexual men. Consider all the work the LGBTQ+ put in getting Americans to accept trans people as mainstream. These people have an obvious psychological problem, many of whom are born with gender dysphoria. And of course there are the plain Leftist freaks, Sam Brinton comes to mind, who do their freak shows for attention. And finally, there are children exposed to traumatic situations who don't understand all the nuances of gender and thus grow up to be freaks. However, a person got there, the LGBTQ+ lobby pushed too far, fighting for men to dominate women. So now Republicans have abortion-age women, athletes mostly striking back against Leftism. What a war that has been, as abortion takes a back seat to womanhood.   Nancy Mace raised the question on Capitol Hill when a freak Congressman, trans man wanted to use the women's restroom. Surprise Conservatives. We are discussing a social issue, and we are winning. If this keeps up, Leftists will lose abortion as their “go to” for young women. Consider the ramifications of Democrats losing yet another voting bloc on which they've relied so heavily. This subject doesn't trend well for Democrats in the 2026 midterms. But it won't just be young women who defect from Democrats over DEI. How many companies have back away from or rid themselves of the cancer of DEI. Lowe's, Harley Davidson, Caterpillar, and many more have chosen to rid themselves of the “woke” cancer. Those who continue down this dead end will suffer the consequences. Case in point, Jaguar. They learned recently that “woke” is so last decade. The man who implemented “woke” at Jaguar will be gone in less than a year. It's a big mistake when Jaguar tries to become Subaru. Yet another trend that's not looking good for the Democrats, particularly when we consider where Harris left them financially and otherwise. In the wake of the 2024 election thrashing, Democrats are calling for the scalp of Pelosi. Many blame her for the massive 2024 election losses. Despite the problems Pelosi presents, losing her would be a major blow to the Democrats. Hakeem Jeffries is LINO: Leader in Name Only, and not capable of filling Pelosi's shoed. Jeffries is an Affirmative Action figurehead, built by Pelosi. And while Pelosi deserves some blame for the direction of Democrats, so does Jeffries. This duo has Democrats are begging donors to help pay for all the stars Harris enriched during her campaign. And if you don't think Democrats have problems with fundraising, just wait. ActBlue won't be able to funnel nearly as much illegal money to the Democrats now that the election is over.  Further, as I wrote recently, don't expect Oprah, Barack, or many other notable Leftists to dig deep to help Harris or the party. They got their money, and they aren't giving it back. Without Jeffries and donors to save them, perhaps Democrats can rely on the old guard: The View. This panel of shrews had the distinction of making the Guiness Book for the number of legal disclaimers in a 24-hour period. Two notices that fast signals a trend: Leftists' legal departments are being put on notice that their lies will no longer be tolerated. And speaking of being put on notice, take a look at what may be the nation's first notable perp walk in Pennsylvania. A Bucks County election official apologized publicly about trying to steal an election. Frankly, I don't care about her apology. America needs to see these cheats go to prison, and this case would be a good one for President Trump to show he means business. Cheat and face the consequences. For me, election integrity must be implemented nationwide over the next 4 years. Because Democrats won't quit cheating unless there are dire consequences. Probably second only to the election integrity is the border. On the border trend, you don't need to read many tweets to see that Trump's new border czar is the real deal, and he's confident in the 70%+ of the nation who want our border protected. Trump has accomplished more in a few weeks as president-elect that Biden Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-kevin-jackson-show--2896352/support.

Last week a client mentioned they were using feedback they'd received on an MVP to make “course corrections.”My ears bristle whenever someone talks about correcting course on an agile project. There's no such thing as course correcting in agile.Am I crazy? After all, a fundamental part of agile is acting on feedback to improve a product. My problem with the concept of course corrections is the way it presupposes there is one correct course and that it's possible to know it in advance. That's not the case.Sure, many products begin with a product backlog that describes what the product owner thinks will be the right combination of features to achieve the desired outcomes. But on any non-trivial product, this recipe cannot be fully known in advance.Successful products are created by iteratively homing in on the right combination of features. And that set of features can only be discovered through trial and error. No matter how much research a team does before developing a feature, they never know how users will respond to the new feature. Will they love it? Will they hate it? Will they use it? Will they use it as intended? So a product owner or manager places a sequence of bets. The result of each bet guides the product owner in placing the next bet.Course-correcting means there was a single, correct course. It implies that development has somehow deviated from this correct course and must be brought back in line.Instead of talking about course corrections, I talk about course adjustments. As a team learns more, it adjusts course—which is the way to succeed with agile, How to connect with AgileDad: - [website] https://www.agiledad.com/ - [instagram] https://www.instagram.com/agile_coach/ - [facebook] https://www.facebook.com/RealAgileDad/ - [Linkedin] https://www.linkedin.com/in/leehenson/

President-elect Trump has begun putting into place his Cabinet and a common denominator is that the emerging national security team shares his longstanding conviction that the Chinese Communist Party is not a competitor. It is a determined and increasingly dangerous enemy. While nominees to some key positions remain to be formally announced, Mr. Trump's choices for Secretary of State, Senator Marco Rubio, National Security Advisor, Rep. Mike Waltz, and Secretary of Homeland Security, Gov. Kristi Noem, are on record about the CCP threat. If complemented by a similarly minded Defense Secretary, Director of National Intelligence and CIA Director, Donald Trump will have the most robust team with regard to the era's “existential threat to freedom” since Ronald Reagan's first-term line-up of Judge Bill Clark, Cap Weinberger, Bill Casey and Jeanne Kirkpatrick. We will doubtless hear shortly about the rest of the national security appointments. I pray - and expect - that those nominees will be of a mind with the President and his selections to date on the peril posed by the Chinese Communist Party. A position that is often not understood to be a key part of that cohort, however, is the Treasury Secretary. During his first presidency, Mr. Trump was saddled with a Wall Street denizen named Stephen Mnuchin who worked assiduously to protect the Chinese from efforts by other administration officials to curtail the suicidal practice of allowing even CCP-controlled corporations building weapons to kill us to raise funds in our capital markets. The second Trump presidency – and our nation – require a Secretary of the Treasury who also truly puts America First and is a strong and effective champion of the national security, not of the greed-driven behavior of too many in the financial sector that endangers it.

By Mary Lindow through the Holy Spirit My heart aches and yes, even trembles a bit at the broad measure of deception that has had a huge increase in these difficult days. Spirits that imitate the voice of our Savior are cloaking themselves as Angels of light and also come masquerading as the Voice of the Holy Spirit in order to distract and lure believers away, slowly from sound convictions, godly warnings, and above all, THE still small Voice. The Bible tells us that deception; doctrines of demons, and false prophets will increase.  The Spirit  of God has spoken expressly that in the latter times some would depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of demons; speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron. It feels as if those days are upon us and though we might try to withdraw or hide, we cannot escape them; we must overcome in the midst of them, for this is the will of God concerning us. Strange as it may seem, the danger today is greater for the passionate Christian than for the lukewarm and the self-satisfied.    “THE SEEKER AFTER GOD'S BEST THINGS IS EAGER TO HEAR ANYONE WHO OFFERS A WAY BY WHICH HE CAN OBTAIN THEM.” ~A.W. Tozer The type of person Mr. Tozer is speaking about, longs for some new experience, some superior view of truth, some operation of the Spirit that will raise him or her above the dead level of religious bumpiness they see all around them, and for this reason these people are ready to lean a concerned ear towards the “new and the amazing” in faith, first and foremost if it is presented by someone with an attractive personality and a reputation for “enhanced” saintliness. HOWEVER, our Lord Jesus the great Shepherd of His sheep has not left His flock to the ruthlessness of the wolves. He has given us the Scriptures, the Holy Spirit and yes, the natural ability of common sense watching, and He expects us to apply ourselves to their help all the time.   "Prove all things; hold fast that which is good," said Paul. -I Thess. 5:21 "Beloved, believe not every spirit," wrote John, "but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world" -I John 4:1 "Beware of false prophets," our Lord warned, "which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves." -Matt. 7:15   A TIME FOR DIRECTIONAL ADJUSTMENT We are in much need of a directional adjustment as believers in the Body of Christ right now as the world turns itself upside down with malice, dictatorships, and political posturing. We need to be certain that nothing of the world and its behaviors are hidden in our own hearts.  We must hear that magnetic pulling voice of the Holy Spirit, and obey it without turning left or right. ”So be careful to do what the LORD your God has commanded you;  do not turn aside to the right or to the left. “ -Deuteronomy 5:32   NOTHING THAT COMES FROM GOD WILL MINISTER TO OUR PRIDE OR SELF-CENTEREDNESS. N O T H I N G! If we are tempted to be conceited and to feel superior because we have had an incredible vision or a radical spiritual experience, or if we feel extraordinarily more well informed or gifted with educational pursuits and feel the need to inflict our “superior-ness” upon others, we should fall immediately to our knees and repent of the ugly and fleshly, self-serving thing! We have fallen and have been duped by the arrogant and self-deceived enemy of our souls, Lucifer. “For everything in the world—the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does—comes not from the Father but from the world.” - 1 John 2:16   LOOKING FOR CONTINUAL SAFETY AND HELP? When we walk in the way of surrender and tenderness with our ears tuned in towards the frequency of the ”still small voice of God”, we actually walk in a safe haven or overshadowing safety of the Presence of God. Training our spiritual ears to hear the voice of the Father creates and provides a lifetime “guarantee” of knowing when the storms or troubles will arise as well as intense persecution. There is a promise for direction from a place of Divine Protection and direction whenever it's needed. ”Therefore my heart is glad  and my tongue rejoices; My body also will rest secure.” - Psalm 16:9   REST AND WAITING IS CRUCIAL The man or woman with an honest heart will find no difficulty here. It is the hardest thing the mind and body to do! Learning to rest and wait when the world is screaming at a fevered pitch, WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO NOW?   It is a hard learned yet reachable discipline if we will lean into it and ask for God's help.  Yes, only HE can train us in this discipline of rest and waiting. Our flesh will never give into it willingly.  Hear and then HEED the Voice of God calling you to enter into His rest. It is a place of pleasant minimalism and uncluttered guidelines. His Presence silences all of the noise of the day and noise of the Head. ANY REAL WORK OF GOD IN OUR HEART WILL TEND TO MAKE US UNABLE TO ENJOY WORLD'S FELLOWSHIP.   "Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him." -I John 2:15   It can be declared clearly, that any spirit that allows “give and take” with the world… ...Is a deceiving spirit.   GOD'S PRESENCE IS A PLACE OF SAFETY FOR THE WEARY Dear child of God! There is no judgment or shame there. It is a restful place of learning to take up an easy yoke and a light burden.  Perhaps right now…. as you read this…you might need to get away from music in headphones or speakers, away from the ring tones on your new awesome phone with all of those cool new apps, and enter into the safe haven of God. Lay down the weight of worry and frustration. The anger at life all bottled up in rage and gloom! All you need to take with you into the place of refuge is a willing and listening heart. Ready to trust the Divine Protector and Provider. May your unfailing love rest upon us, O LORD, Even as we put our hope in you. -Psalm 33:22   PLEASE SIT BACK AND LISTEN TO THE FOLLOWING SPONTANEOUS SONG FROM THE SPIRIT OF GOD! IT WILL SING LIFE INTO YOUR WEARY SOUL!    CAPTAIN OF YOUR SOUL © Spontaneous Prophetic Song of The Lord   There is a river of life; there is a river that flows From the city of God, There is a river of life There is an ocean, Deep and wide and strong And there is a pathway, in the water wide and long   There is a Master, Captain, at the helm of life And there is Someone standing, Steering the course in the fog at night Even though the times that you can't see Me Even though the times that you can't hear Me I am the echo in the night   There is an ocean deep and wide And there is a river flowing by your side And even though the darkness might come Remember the promise I've given you I will guide you in the storms of life   Come with Me a while and see, that I am He The Captain at the helm Come and see that I have a course now set In the heavenly realms   There is a river, a place for you to flow There is a river, there is something more, For you to know   Let me take control, let Me drift your life away For in the darkness of night You can hear Me better say   I am the Captain of your soul And I am the Master of the storm Remember when you can't feel Remember when you can't set your sail Remember when there's no breezes Remember there is a voice that pleases   There is a river, there is an ocean There is a Captain at the helm   And though you might not see Me And though you might not feel Me I am still in the heavenly realm I am still in the heavenly helm   Captain of the sea Captain of the storm Come and rest with Me   Duplication and sharing of this writing is welcomed, as long as the complete message, Website, podcast link and information for Mary Lindow is included. We love to hear from our listeners. Send us a message. It wouldn't be accurate to say that surgeon-turned-healthcare investment banker and consultant Dr. Ali Pashazadeh traded his scalpels for spreadsheets. In fact, he still wields a scalpel quite frequently, and on this episode of the Business of Biotech podcast, he offers a fantastic reason why. Yes, it's a bit of a departure from our normal routine of biotech founders occupying the guest chair. But, Pashazadeh's no-holds-barred reflections on and analysis of biotech breaking points, drawn from more than 2 decades of troubleshooting broken bipharmaceutical businesses and correcting courses, makes for some great programming. Whether you're a biotech builder in the throes of disruption, or feeling lucky that you've been threading scientific, clinical, capital, and regulatory needles all along, this episode offers a ton of insight from the unwritten textbooks on the business of biotech.Access this and hundreds of episodes of the Business of Biotech videocast under the Listen & Watch tab at bioprocessonline.com.
