I believe we each have an unconscious story about who we are and what kind of world we're in. This story, our myth, influences our goals, desires, mindset, and happiness. On this podcast, I'm going to help people identify the myths that make them.
The Myths That Make Us podcast, hosted by Erick Godsey, is a remarkable and thought-provoking show that delves into a wide range of topics including psychology, psychedelics, spirituality, and personal growth. The podcast features insightful interviews with guests who share their unique perspectives and experiences, offering listeners an opportunity to gain new insights into themselves and the world around them.
One of the best aspects of this podcast is Erick's ability to articulate complex ideas in a clear and accessible manner. His encyclopedic knowledge comes through when he speaks, making each episode educational and enlightening. He has a unique perspective on life that challenges conventional thinking and encourages listeners to explore beyond their comfort zones. The depth of his conversations with guests provides a rich tapestry of insights that can inspire personal growth and transformation.
Another great aspect of The Myths That Make Us is its ability to resonate deeply with listeners. Many people have expressed how the podcast has had a profound impact on their lives, helping them improve their artistry, overcome fears about money, or simply feel proud to be human. Erick's authenticity and vulnerability create a space where listeners can connect on a deep level and find solace in knowing they are not alone in their struggles.
If there were any drawbacks to this podcast, it would be that some episodes may be too abstract or esoteric for certain listeners. Since the show covers such a wide range of topics, some episodes may require prior knowledge or interest in the subject matter to fully appreciate. However, this could also be seen as an opportunity for listeners to expand their horizons and explore new ideas.
In conclusion, The Myths That Make Us podcast is a truly enlightening and transformative show that offers deep insights into the human psyche and our place in the world. Erick Godsey's ability to guide conversations with guests in such an engaging way creates an immersive experience for listeners. Whether you are seeking personal growth, a deeper understanding of psychology, or simply thought-provoking conversations, this podcast is a must-listen. It has the power to challenge your beliefs, expand your consciousness, and inspire you to live a more authentic and fulfilling life.

In this episode, Erick sat down with Melissa Stangl and Sylvia Bringas from Soltara Healing Center to riff about the power of peak experiences, how they demand you to break your old stories, and the process of integration. They also dive into how we can balance our relationship with social media and use it as a tool for expansion. On that note, Melissa and Sylvia have co-founded an incredible online community called The Maloca. You can learn more about The Maloca below. Melissa Stangl is the Co-Founder and COO of Soltara Healing Center and the Co-Founder of The Maloca. After spending years working in scientific labs and corporate offices, Melissa realized the healing and transformative potential of working responsibly with psychedelics and plant medicine. In 2015, she consciously chose to leave Corporate America and moved to live and work in the Amazon jungle. Melissa has since used her background in engineering, science, and management to help advance the plant medicine and psychedelic movements – first by helping run a top-rated ayahuasca center in Peru, and now as Founding Partner and COO for Soltara Healing Center, a Shipibo-led ayahuasca center in Costa Rica, with a focus on integration. Sylvia Bringas is the Co-Founder of The Maloca. She is also a trauma-informed and initiated spiritual worker helping highly sensitive people navigate the complexities of a neurotypical world. She helps individuals reclaim their sensitivities to re-mystify their lives and live vitally alive–mind, body, and spirit. Her interests, connection, and natural aptitude in nature, art, and myths captivated her at a young age. This week we have my good friend Hayden Mora on the show. I met Hayden through Fit For Service and wanted to bring him on to talk about how we can contend with ideas we don't agree with in good faith. In this episode, we lay the ground work for having difficult conversations with people we disagree with, and we walk through an example of what one of these conversations might look like. A quote from Hayden's recent article on Medium sums our conversation up perfectly… “I'm not suggesting we water down our truths, if anything, I think we need to bring fuller, more nuanced, more vulnerable versions of our truth to one another. I am arguing though - that we must find ways in which we do not allow our passion and conviction for creating a more beautiful world - to be a part and parcel of a process in which we undermine the humanity of those who disagree about what that world could be.” You can find the full article here As always, this episode is brought to you by my newsletter and my journaling course Check out The Dharma Journal Connect with Hayden Mora Instagram | @haydenjlmora Medium | Our Future Depends on Each of Us and One Another: How We Must Find A Way to Talk Across Difference from Queers to QANON.
