But yes, the education piece is so important.19:34 - I believe very strongly that when we are able to think creatively not artistically, but creatively we can bypass the need for language and think about things in a different way.21:32 The Matrix Green Pill Podcast: https://thematrixgreenpill.com/Please review us: https://g.page/r/CS8IW35GvlraEAI/review

In a way, Thomas Beattie's story feels like it's from another era. Just five short years ago, the former Hull City academy player opened up to the world about the fact that he happens to be gay – and, in doing so, became an inspiration for many other LGBTQ+ footballers who weren't yet out in the beautiful game. Josh Cavallo, Jake Daniels, Zander Murray – they've all cited Thomas as someone they've looked up to when it came to their decision to share their sexuality with the world, so it's high-time that the man himself came back to the podcast to join us for a chat. And this is an astonishing chat with a genuine trailblazer in the game – about why he never fit the archetype of life as a traditional footballer, about finding his truth and sharing it, about his desire to help others, and why he's proud of the difference he's made. It's a cracking chat with a man who has made an astonishing difference in the beautiful game, and we're so glad you're with us for it today. David Waldman is still out there, enjoying the beach life as if there's no tomorrow. There might be one, though. And, if there's a day after that, David should be right here again. It's almost summer, but the DOGE days of spring will take a long while to recover from. We are just beginning to understand how DOGE stole government data, and who they sold it to. Remember the Obama March Madness bracket, or his summer playlist? This administration's thing is Trump Administration enemies lists. Collect them all, new enemies are added weekly, daily, hourly. The administration doesn't want anyone countering foreign disinformation, because it's their job to spread it. Darren Beattie dismantled the agency fighting Russian propaganda, because he has family in the business. Beattie's White Nationalist ties got him fired the first time, a high-level State Department job this time.

Robert Beattie was many things: an architect, a designer of iconic public buildings on Long Island, and a decorated World War II veteran. But most importantly, he was the father of today's guest, Richard Beattie. So we're celebrating Father's Day by celebrating the life and work of Robert Beattie. As an architect, Beattie's specialty was mid-century modern architecture. Working with clean lines, natural light, and an appreciation of the surrounding landscape, he designed many iconic buildings in our area. If you live in the town of Islip, you'll know his MacArthur Airport terminal, the core buildings of Suffolk County Community College's Ammerman Campus, and St. Lawrence Church in Sayville. Richard takes us on a tour of his father's buildings and details his life. Robert was part of the Greatest Generation, earning a Silver Star as an Alamo Scout in the Philippines. He got his start in architecture with the firm Shreve, Lamb & Harmon in New York City. Robert then founded his own firm, Dobecki & Beattie, and embarked on a storied career on Long Island. We discuss the changing architectural landscape of Long Island in the 1960s, the Beattie family's connections to Oakdale, and Robert's devotion to being a father and an architect. The Beattie Mansion in St. Joseph, Missouri has stood for more than 170 years. This began as a home for the Beatties and later became a home for unwed women and orphans and then an assisted living facility that occasionally served the addicted and people with mental health issues. RA Beattie was the man behind the camera for many of the most influential fly-fishing films of the past several decades. It's no exaggeration to say his work changed the culture of fly fishing. Beattie's work has always told the story behind the story – transcending just a sport about catching fish, and allowing us to connect with the why. From giant Arctic char to dorado in the Bolivian jungle, to steelhead on the Deschutes and milkfish in Dubai, RA has set the standard for fly-fishing films and inspired countless others to expand their work beyond “fish porn.” Watch two of his latest- The Hard Way and The Silent Spotter to see what we're talking about, and then explore more of RA's work through his Off the Grid Studios/RA Beattie Productions. Join us for a conversation with RA about his work, his passions, and a life behind the camera in some of the most exotic flyfishing destinations on earth. And if he ever gets tried of traveling for filmmaking, he travels some more, to places like Suriname and Cameroon, to verify sustainable wood sources for a guitar maker. As RA says, every fly-fishing filmmaker needs a second job at times. --- The Podcast & Blast with Hal Herring is brought you by Backcountry Hunters & Anglers and presented by Silencer Central, with additional support from Decked, Dometic, and Filson. She details LaunchBio's evolution from local programming to a national organization connecting biotech entrepreneurs with critical resources and capital. Becky's background in both science and real estate uniquely positioned her to understand the challenges of biotech startups, particularly around shared lab spaces and ecosystem development. Her leadership at LaunchBio has focused on creating targeted connections between founders and investors while expanding into new markets and launching initiatives for underrepresented entrepreneurs.
We spoke with David Amlen and Meg Beattie Patrick as a preview for the upcoming DAVE & THE DIVAS show at Outpost in the Burbs. The show Freedom & Faith: Songs of Jenny Amlen and Elton John, will be March 1st in Montclair - an album release event for the group's FREEDOM album. It's a very special project that brings together core members of the Montclair music community, led by David Amlen in tribute to his late sister Jenny and her songs, that match remarkably well with Elton John's early compositions. The album and show feature a selection of incredible local singers - Julie Dobrow, Iris Schaffer Hall, Meg Patrick, Stacia Thiel, and Cecile Williams, as well as an all-star band. The episode features a preview of the title song ‘Freedom,' an anthemic song from Jenny that was the starting point for the project.
In this new, limited series of Brick by Brick, Jason Reichl sits down with Thomas Beattie, co-founder and CEO of Eli Report (Every Little Item) for Episode 1 of ‘The Power of AI in Risk'. He is a recovering investment banker and multi-time startup founder, Thomas shares how a 2018 conversation about the disparity between used car reports and condo documentation led to creating a comprehensive property intelligence platform.
Lisa Carlin, Darian Jenkins, and Christin Cupo share their favorite moments and memories from two players who just announced their retirement from the game, Jen Beattie and Michele Betos. Then, the group discusses what Bay FC needs to do to make the playoffs again in year two and what players out there make sense to bring on board. Next, our hosts bring you up-to-date with the latest in transfer and trade news including Kerolin signing with Manchester City and what that means for their Champions League hopes. And finally, a look at the 2025 NWSL schedule as well as a preview of this weekend's big matchup between Chelsea and Arsenal in the BWSL. Melvyn Bragg and guests discuss the intense political activity at the turn of the 18th Century, when many politicians in London went to great lengths to find a Protestant successor to the throne of Great Britain and Ireland and others went to equal lengths to oppose them. Queen Anne had no surviving children and, following the old rules, there were at least 50 Catholic candidates ahead of any Protestant ones and among those by far the most obvious candidate was James, the only son of James II. Yet with the passing of the Act of Settlement in 1701 ahead of Anne's own succession, focus turned to Europe and to Princess Sophia, an Electress of the Holy Roman Empire in Hanover who, as a granddaughter of James I, thus became next in line to be crowned at Westminster Abbey. It was not clear that Hanover would want this role, given its own ambitions and the risks, in Europe, of siding with Protestants, and soon George I was minded to break the rules of succession so that he would be the last Hanoverian monarch as well as the first.WithAndreas Gestrich Professor Emeritus at Trier University and Former Director of the German Historical Institute in LondonElaine Chalus Professor of British History at the University of LiverpoolAnd Mark Knights Professor of History at the University of WarwickProducer: Simon TillotsonReading list:J.M.
