Podcast by Plant Based Riot
Children on vegan diets may have a healthier cardiovascular profile, less body fat, and surpass the exact same growth milestones as their meat-eating counterparts. Over the past few decades, vegans were informed that a meat-free diet could result in growth defects, bone mineral issues, and concerns about micronutrient status. In the past 30 years, vegan research was not a hot topic, and as a result, very few studies were conducted on the issue. Today, with veganism exploding in popularity, the diet is being evaluated more critically and research is showing us that the old folklore surrounding a vegan diet may have nothing more than more nutritional nonsense with no bases in science. Join the Plant-Based Riot as they revoke the folklore and discuss emerging research about children and veganism!
Join the Plant-Based Riot in welcoming very special guests from across the pond to discuss if eating meat promotes toxic masculinity. This week, the Riot talks with two plant-based blokes valiantly raising the vegan banner in England! We warmly welcome Kofi Smiles, host of the BBC's Humberside radio show, and Jordan Matfin, a founding member of The Vegan Man Club, to debate the ends and outs of diet and gender on a transatlantic scale! Episode 23- Is Eating Meat Manly? What is the definition of “manly?” What defines "a man? "Does the food we choose to eat, or perhaps not eat, have an implication on our masculinity? Well, in our current climate, it appears that ordering kale salad over cheesesteak sandwiches instantly knocks you down a few pegs on the masculinity scale. According to Google Dictionary, a manly man is one “having or denoting those good qualities traditionally associated with men, such as courage, strength, and spirit” or “befitting a man”. Sounds wonderful, doesn't it? It would seem that google dictionary recognizes a "man" as someone compassionate, epithetic and sympathetic. But in today's age of over branding, over marketing, and deceptive advertising, the simple act of eating has become a marketing tool used to appoint gender to a diet! And if you are a man that openly eats a plant-based diet, you can be assured that manhood will constantly be called into question. For far too long, vegans, especially vegan men, have been ridiculed for their dietary preferences, lifestyles, and choices to show compassion. If we look back to googles description of men, it would seem those vegan males, more so than their meat-eating counterparts, demonstrate "good qualities", "courage", "strength" and "spirit" simply by defying the American Man's traditional diet ladened with meat, cheese, bacon eggs, and dairy. It is obvious that eating mounds of meat have no bearing on anyone's masculinity. This notion is a campaign that has been constructed by advertisers, marketing agencies, and the meat industry in an effort to drive more units in the male demographic. If we are being 100% transparent, this industry-generated narrative should also include an amendment that informs "manly men" that they will also obtain obesity, cancer, and heart disease with such a "manly diet." The companies that promote these masculine directives are brainwashing men into believing that they are feminine for choosing more plants and less meat. This is a deceitful narrative supported by millions of dollars in the fictitious advertisement. However, these efforts appear to be failing as veganism is now growing faster than ever. Globally, veganism has skyrocketed and the same companies that were aggressively glorifying masculinity in meat-eating are now offering plant-based alternatives by the dozen simply because it is becoming more profitable! So I leave you with this: How can the same industries that exploited toxic masculinity through meat-eating for so many decades also simultaneously promote healthy plant-based eating simply because it is building momentum? What's really going on here?
For the past 40 years, our nation's health, wellness and quality of life has been battling against the misinformation, deceit and million dollar add campaigns funded by the egg, dairy and meat industry over cholesterol. At one time, the mere mention of cholesterol struck sudden fear into the heart of so many middle-agers. As a result, the sales, units moved and shareholder profits all plummeted within these industries. In an effort to upsurge the sales of cholesterol containing products, Agribusiness rolled up its sleeves, regrouped and located a kink in the armor of the American consciousness. The most direct and precise way to get cholesterol back on the national plate without causing too much alarm concerning heart disease was to aggressively manipulate the agencies that regulate and recommend the national dietary guidelines. As current guidelines demonstrate, the design was successful and cholesterol is back, better and “healthier “than ever, or that's what they want you to believe. Within in the span of two short decades, cholesterol has been fully rebranded. It has undergone a full makeover, that has transformed this once dreaded foe into an embraced and non-life-threatening comrade. As confusing as this may sound, it is important to establish that this cholesterol rebirth is not driven by recommendations of the medical and scientific community, but rather it is a result of the combined efforts of the USDA and food industry. That's right, your own government have brought the wolves to your family's steps, opened the front door and sat them at your kitchen table. Why would the agency designated to promote good health and recommend national nutritional advice do such a thing you ask? Well, the USDA unfortunately serves two very dissimilar masters. First and foremost, the USDA was created solely to safeguard the economic wellness of the egg, dairy and meat industry during times of economic turbulence. This was the primary role of the agency at its conception. Later, the USDA was tasked with the responsibility of designing, assigning and revising nutritional recommendations that would feed this nation. It is at this point all of you should feel perplexed about the dual roles of the USDA. You might even be thinking, “how in the hell does an agency that is dedicated to supporting the financial wellbeing of animal centered food industries also have the authority to advise Americans of how much animal products we should or shouldn't eat?” Insane, right? It is also imperative that I mention that cholesterol is only found in animal products. Not in plants, not in beans, not in avocados, not in coconut oils. Only in animal products! I hope by this point you are also thinking about how cholesterol, a fatty waxy substance that has been correlated with every chronic illness under the sun, has been resurrected within modern dietary guidelines that have lifted all restrictions on how much cholesterol we should be eating. That's right, let me help you digest this. Under the current US dietary guidelines, the USDA has decided, independent of the Department of Human Health Services recommendation's, that cholesterol should be eaten at liberty because it seems that the medical research surrounding cholesterol conducted over the past 30 years has been wrong and not creditable. This is the USDA's rational for revising cholesterol intake from eating less than 300 mg a day, about two eggs, to eat as much as you want.
Have you ever stopped and thought for a moment about the direction that food production is moving in this country? Of course, most of you will undoubtedly say "no" while proudly proclaiming that you continue to "not consider" how food is being produced in the future either. But that is ok because the Plant Base Riot has your back. We are here to inform you of the almost Orwellian methodology the modern industry is using to grow your meat! That's right, I did say grow..... your.... meat. Cellular agriculture has shoved its way into the food production floor and is beginning to gain notice and momentum. So what is cellular agriculture? Well, I am glad we now have your attention! This food production method seems to fuse sea monkey cultivation, plant biopsies, and the reprogramming of animal stem cells to create a meaty medley within a single petri dish. But, all kidding aside, cellular agriculture produces animal-sourced foods (like milk, meat, eggs, and butter) that can be made without animals. Cellular engineers can replicate these products and other( Faux leather) by using a microbe like yeast or bacteria, stem cells, and growth media from bovine and the essential cellular components from plants. Ultimately, cellular agriculture will ensure that fast food goers will continue to wrap enormous lines around chain drive-throughs worldwide, as the cost of animal faux animal flesh will be cheaper than the real thing in due time. I'm looking in your direction In-and-out Burgar, don't think we have noticed your eternal lines and congestion that often interrupt traffic patterns throughout California. I have never seen so many people so damn eager to accelerate their progression to coronary heart disease than the staunch In and out patron. So what does all this mean? There are so many variables to consider with this never-before-seen food production procedure? For starters, lab-grown and 3D printed beef would give mother earth a long-overdue rest. We have been battering mother nature, our air quality, soil, and water supplies with unsustainable cattle production methods over the past 70 years. So lab-grown meat could be the answer we have been looking for to shut down the cattle, chicken, and pork cartels once and for all, Thus ultimately ending animal suffering while simultaneously reducing carbon footprints. On the other end, how might lab-grown meat impact human health? This product essentially transmits similar tones of issues surrounding genetically modified seeds that have been debated for nearly a decade now. Will cellular agriculture companies share space with other genetic puppet masters like Monsanto? Further, if lab-grown meat can successfully be produced on a monumental scale, will that droop the cost of animal abuse products on supermarket shelves worldwide, making it more accessible, affordable, and desirable. Can you imagine the health implications this new market would have on wellness? Americans are already fighting chronic disease on every conceivable front. We have cancer attacking us in the trenches, diabetes trying to flank us, Cardiovascular disease overhead providing air support for enemy forces, and chronic inflammation perched in the sniper's nest just waiting to pick its perfect shot. Is more meat, cheese, eggs, and mayo, all grown in a petri dish, really the best option in the ailing United States? Lastly, if no animals are harmed in lab-based meat production, how might this impact vegan and vegetarian lifestyles? Can we reenter the wild and eat "meat" once again? Follow the mettlesome trio as they examine the current but limited science surrounding Cellular Agriculture. Episode 20 is up! A Raw Diet, Or A Raw Deal? Though the raw vegan diet isn't new, it has been regaining popularity recently. A Raw diet merges the principles of veganism with those of raw foodism. While some people may prefer to follow it for ethical or environmental, and spiritual reasons, most do it for its incredible health benefits. These include weight loss, improved heart health, and a lower risk of diabetes. However, a fully raw vegan diet may also pose some health risks — especially when it's not well planned, and it is followed with commercially produced agriculture. So, is a raw diet truly more healthy than a vegan diet where cooking food is commonly cooked! Furthermore, should we reconsider a purely raw diet when examining the chemical stranglehold agrochemical companies hold on American Agriculture? Pesticides are used on fruits, vegetables, wheat, rice, olives, and canola pressed into oil, grass, and flowers. The OP pesticide chlorpyrifos developed by the DOW chemical company is commonly used on all fruits, vegetables, and wheat produced in the United States and impose severe implications on human health. So are these plants pure or purely dangerous? Join Dan and Brian as they peek behind this curtain of secrecy and decode the dietary deceptions to arm listeners with more information concerning their diet and health.
Plant-Based Riot proudly welcomes PETA to the podcast studio!!!! People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is the largest animal rights organization globally, with more than 6.5 million members and supporters. PETA opposes speciesism, a human-supremacist worldview, and focuses its attention on the four areas in which the largest numbers of animals suffer the most intensely for the longest periods of time: in laboratories, in the food industry, in the clothing trade, and the entertainment industry. We also work on various other issues, including the cruel killing of rodents, birds, and other animals who are often considered “pests,” as well as cruelty to domesticated animals. PETA works through public education, cruelty investigations, research, animal rescue, legislation, special events, celebrity involvement, and protest campaigns. Join the Riot as wee explore a different side of plant-based eating: showing compassion for other living creatures through dietary choices
Mindfulness suggests focusing on the present moment while peacefully acknowledging and accepting your feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations." These tenets of mindfulness also apply to mindful eating, and the concept of mindful eating goes beyond the individual. It encompasses how what you eat affects your health, your family's health, and the world around you. In essence, mindful eating means being fully attentive to your food—as you buy, prepare, serve, and consume it. Our relationship to food is a central one that reflects our attitudes toward our environment and ourselves. As a practice, mindful eating can bring us awareness of our actions, thoughts, feelings and motivations, and insight into the roots of health and contentment. Follow the mettlesome trio as they examine the current science surrounding how a mindful diet and mindfulness in eating habits reverse disease and reduce inflammation. There's a lot of incredibly useful intermittent fasting (IF) research conducted on fat rodents. They lose weight, their blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugars improve, but they're rats. Studies in humans, almost across the board, have shown that IF is safe and incredibly effective, but really no more effective than any other diet. In addition, many people find it difficult to fast. So why should we fast, undergo long periods of starvations and when a long term plant-based diest appears to accomplish the same health goals. In this episode, we put the two diets head to head and get some extra help from a steller researcher from Auburn University, Dr. Austin Robinson. Follow the mettlesome trio as they examine the current science surrounding how various fasting diets measure up against a plant-based diet. Join Dan, Brian, and Austin as they peek behind this curtain of secrecy and decode the dietary deceptions to arm listeners with more information concerning their diet and health.
Our society has a toxic obsession with all things protein. We consume protein powders, protein bars, protein cookies, and protein-infused coffees. With the state of things, you'd think every American was suffering from extensive a protein deficiency! However, considering nearly 98% of Americans consume the daily recommended amount of protein, we are clearly overeating only one of the macronutrients necessary to maintain health. But do you have any idea what essential nutrient we don't consume nearly enough of? Fiber. That's right, good-old fiber. Dietary fiber is considered an "essential nutrient," and concerningly, most Americans have a deficient intake of fiber, which is associated with countless health risks. In opposition to the overconsumption of protein, Only 4% of Americans consume the daily recommended amount of fiber. And I am sure you can guess what dietary group is meeting their daily fiber needs. That's right, the damn vegans! Fiber, like protein, has an abundance of health benefits. But did you know dear listeners that there is a war currently being waged surrounding fiber? And this war is nothing more than a campaign to get your hard-earned money out of your wallet and into food manufacturers' bank accounts. Many of the massive food producers know that the Americas are deficient in fiber intake. Therefore a market is created, and big food compies are more than happy to provide you the fiber you need in sugary chocolate energy bars that they can market as "healthy" because it contains fiber. What horseshit. Something as uncomplicated as eating fiber naturally found in plants is being deconstructed, misused, and abused. The American food industry and the FDA are negotiating the use of added fibers and their role in the American diet. Food manufactures are isolating fiber from natural food sources and adding it to other foods. More alarming, they are also creating synthetic fiber and declaring it as natural dietary fiber on food labels only if they meet the "beneficial physiological effect to human health" criterion. So here were are. Yet again, food-producing manufacturers have takin natural elements to laboratories and assembly lines merely as a means to make synthetic food for profit. Although they claim their food includes enriched essential fiber, is it healthy for you? Moreover, can't we just obtain fiber from our diets more easily and forgo the fiber assembled in a lab. Follow the mettlesome duo as they examine the current science surrounding how fiber and how it is only now being regulated/defined by the FDA and corrupted by big food companies. Join Dan and Brian as they peek behind this curtain of secrecy and decode the dietary deceptions to arm listeners with more information concerning their diet and health.
While the population of bugs (microbes) in your gut is bestowed upon you at birth (thanks mom and dad), your diet has the most prominent impact on your gut bugs' nature, composition, and health. Sounds gross, right? But these bugs accomplish wonderful things for our bodies. If you are vegan, well, then these beneficial little bacilli will generate healthful harmony in your life for years to come! Good job, vegans! Current researches point out that a plant-based diet reduces the development of chronic diseases such as cancer, metabolic syndrome, Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, and cardiovascular disease significantly. Mush of this resistance to disease stems from your bugs (thanks bugs!). And on this episode, we will tell you how these bugs got your back when you feed them lots of veggies! Of course, eating fewer animal fats and proteins is also judged to be beneficial in avoiding the development of diseases. These products have been shown to negatively alter the microbiota. It is becoming transparent that diet is an indispensable factor connected to microbiota and the health of your gut bugs. While the relationships between diet, microbiota, and human health are complicated, virtually all published literature on microbiota demonstrates that a vegan diet, above any other food, has a unique and significant influence on both the gut microbiota and all aspects of human health. Follow the mettlesome trio as they examine the current science surrounding how a plant-based diet impacts your gut bugs! Sugar! We all crave it. We long for it. When we have a tough day at the office, we reach for it to comfort us and aid us in our time of need. How could we not? It's delicious and makes everything taste just a little better. But, sugar is not good for us in any shape, form, or variant. More disturbingly, sugar, at least basic table sugar abundant in so much of our food, is not even vegan! That's right; you may have heard that regular white sugar is non-vegan because they filter it using animal bone char- that is, charred and powdered animal bone. But did you know the US, unlike so many other countries, still practices this ridiculous method of bleaching and "purifying" table sugar? On average, Americans consume nearly 100 pounds of sugar per year, or 30 teaspoons a day. These quantities are disturbing because sugar is also a toxin. It contains no nutritional value and lacks essential proteins, minerals, and vitamins, making sugar one of the worst and most poisonous ingredients in the Western diet. It can have harmful effects on our metabolism and contribute to the development of numerous serious health conditions and diseases. Too much sugar is detrimental to the body and promotes inflammation and disease. Follow the mettlesome trio as they examine the current science surrounding how a plant-based diet and a reduction in sugar consumption can help reduce the aging process, diminish the developing disease and increase your quality of life for years to come. Episode 11. For Meat's Sake, Can't My Heart Just Get a Break?! It's now abundantly clear that a plant-based diet is unequivocally associated with a lower risk of heart disease can cardiovascular complications. But an essential question we have to ask ourselves is if all plant-based diets have the same protective effects? For a heart-healthy protection plan, a diet should focus on high-quality plant foods and forgoing or curbing the consumption or real meat and the copious amount of vegan fake meats that are saturating the market. Furthermore, how might exercise further reduced the risk of heart disease? Could it be that a plant-based diet in combination with a consistent exercise regiment may the be the fountain of youth we have all be looking for? When you explore the research, it appears that a Western diet coupled with sedentary behavior is the equivalent of purposefully taking a long-drawn tinkle in that fountain of youth. And this foolish tinkle only accelerates the aging process and can lead to the development of various diseases. Don't pee in the damn fountain. Love your heart's health so it can, in return, love others for many years to come! Episode 10: “Double Double. Vegan Style, please!” Should meat-producing industries and the fast-food chains that serve their goods "slay" in their own lane? About 20 years ago, I distinctly remembered asking my vegetarian and vegan friends what they would do if every fast-food chain came up with vegan options. Back then, fast food vegan options consisted of bread and condiment sandwiches, packed with mounds of pickles, thick discs of onions, dry lettuce, and bright yellow mustard. ‘Hold the meat, and hold the cheese!' Those were trying times, to say the least. Ohhhh, those were the days. As a vegan in the early ‘90's, the glorious condiment sandwich allowed every plant slayer the opportunity to break bread with our meat-eating counterparts and avoid being chastised by those that thought I was crazy for being plant-based. Ohhh have the times have changed! Fast-forward 25 years, and now, vegans around the world have been freed! Stop hiding in the shadows and be placed in the spotlight. In this day and age, we are free to declare our proud lifestyle without fear of objection, judgment, or ridicule. More and more, people are converting to a vegan lifestyle, so much so that the food industry is paying attention. Close, close, close attention! They are paying attention because now, there is money to make. A lot of money to make! Imagine furthermore, if I said the meat-producing giants are now testing vegan meat products to roll out everywhere? Much like other fast-food chains such as Carl's Jr., Del Taco, KFC, Burger King, even McDonald's and Tyson foods are introducing a vegan burger in Tampere, Finland. Vegans are a bit divided in their reactions concerning these moves by the food giants. Many applaud this initiative, while many others state that they will never eat anything at McDonald's because one vegan burger cannot erase the many problematic aspects of the company. But most importantly, how do we feel about the way these products are being marketed as "healthy”? I feel that the real question we should be asking is "Are these vegan options any healthier than the real meat?” because this is how fast food companies will capture both markets: by exaggerating the truth in marketing and trying to assure us that a Beyond/Impossible burger is way healthier than a meat burger. But is it really? Follow the mettlesome trio as they examine the current science surrounding how faux meat and vegan products in fast food may be just another unhealthy product that takes your hard-earned dollar under the guise of good health. Join Dan, Brian, and Mike as they peek behind this curtain of secrecy and decode the dietary deceptions to arm listeners with more information concerning their diet and health.
Episode 9 is here! DiaMEATes!!! GET THIS! Recent development in nutritional research has shown that the chronic intake of meat, dairy, and eggs is strongly correlated with a significantly increased risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM), or more appropriately termed, Diameates! It appears, dear Rioteers, that the culprits responsible for thrusting our meat-eating counterparts into metabolic derangement are higher levels of heme iron, saturated fat, sodium (as found in preserved meats, sulfur-containing amino acids. All of these rascals are abundantly present in the products we take from the animal kingdom. Additionally, The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) has categorized processed meat as a carcinogen. So I ask you, Rioteers, what the hell are we doing? What are we eating, and why are people still consuming these poisons? While several studies have consistently shown that meat, dairy, and egg consumption should be moderated to avoid the development of chronic disease, most of the United States fails to adopt a healthy and balanced diet sufficient in varied protein sources, including tofu and legumes. Follow the mettlesome trio as they examine the current science surrounding how animal products may be the primary catalyst for chronic diseases such as T2DM, both in America and internationally. Join Dan, Brian, and Mike as they peek behind this curtain of secrecy and decode the dietary deceptions to arm listeners with more information concerning their diet and health.
If you thought the Anti-vaxers episode ruffled some feathers, wait until you get a load of episode 8 entitled, PLANT POWERED PETS! Cats and dogs may be identified as carnivores, but that hasn't hindered an explosion of pet owners from fanatically wanting to switch their fluffy friends to a plant-based diet. With the increasing prevalence of vegan lifestyles has led some people to consider feeding vegan diets to their pets as a cruelty-free option to normal meat-based kibble. Due to clever marketing, people believe that their dog or cat can thrive on a meatless diet. Pet owners also appear comfortable forcing their ethical views about eating animal products or the agriculture industry onto their pet's lifestyle as well. However, this situation in which human morality not only does not apply to animals but also ends up being dangerously inhumane when expected to be ethical. It seems that canine and feline bodies were not built to subsist singularly on plant matter; both cats and dogs evolved to subsist on a meat-based diet - dogs as opportunistic omnivores and cats as obligate carnivores. So are these plant-based pet owners making the right educated choices in converting their pets to broccoli and carrots, or will there be unfavorable physiological consequences that will injure their beloved animals? Join the mettlesome trio as they examine the current science surrounding plant-based pet food and vegan pets! Join Dan, Brian, and Mike as they peek behind this curtain of secrecy and decode the dietary deceptions to arm listeners with more information to allow their pets to live a disease-free life.
Are you Lectin or Lecout, that is the questions. Lectins have become the latest opposition of healthful diets and more specifically, a vegan diet. Have you ever heard of lectins? Five years ago, you probably hadn't heard of gluten either, but a “lectin-free” is now being primed by some medical professionals to become the next big thing in diet fads. Move over gluten, move over MSG, and move over soy, there is a new enemy on the chopping block, and lectin be thy name But this diet, like so many others, appears more fad than factual. According to dietitians, you know, the people who have spent countless years training in nutritional biochemistry and researching human metabolism, propose that foods containing lectins such as grains, particularly whole wheat, beans and legumes, nuts, aubergines, tomatoes, potatoes, and peppers contain lectins and also possess countless health benefits. Addianlly, many people removing these plants form their dies and increasing their protein consumption to avoid lectins. Well guess what, lectins are everywhere including dairy products, and eggs and, meat which doesn't leave an awful lot left to eat So what the heck are lectins? Lectins are proteins found in around 30 percent of the foods you eat, such as legumes, peanuts, lentils, tomatoes, potatoes, eggplant, fruits, and wheat. While there are some toxins in these foods (specifically in foods like raw kidney beans), the cooking process denatures the lectins, meaning they are harmless. There is no evidence to suggest that lectins are the cause of chronic disease or obesity. Join the mettlesome trio as they examine the current science surrounding lectins and investigate the myth surround complications associated with eating lectins. Episode 6 is here! The growing anti-vaccination movement is building momentum by the minute, and regrettably, their primitive beliefs can and have produced real, substantive harm to the rest of the population! As confirmed by the recent slew of long-dormant disease outbreaks, such as the measles in the US, more and more parents are arming themselves with pseudoscience, and disregarding nearly 50 years of medical science, microbiology and epidemiological studies in an effort to combat the potentially harmful side effects "associated" with vaccines. These vexed anti-vaxxers are taking their fight to the frontlines of Facebook and Instagram to recruit even more thickheaded soldiers to advance all of us further into oblivion! To make this matter even more complex, the vegan community is irresponsibly jumping on this dangerous bandwagon because commercial vaccinations do in fact contain several animal-based products. While this is absolutely true, we do need to consider that not suppressing dangerous pathogens through modern medicine can have pandemic like consequences and directly supports reintroducing diseases from the dark ages back into contemporary times. Regrettably, in order to contend this anti-vaxxer drive, forward-thinking vegans, and non-vegans alike, may have to momentarily set aside their dietary agendas and support vaccine use because right here and right now, it is the only reasonable choice we have as a civilization bursting at the seams in population. Agendas aside, we must do what is best for civilization. BUT FEAR NOT plant eaters, plant-based vaccines are now being created and even administered in other parts of the world. The solution is coming. In the case of vaccinations, the one thing that seems to be contagious is the misleading information that is spread by anti-vaccine movements. This has caused such an immense problem that the WHO has called the anti-vaccine movement a major threat to public health Join the mettlesome trio as they examine the current science surrounding vaccinations and investigate the myth surround complications associated with receiving vaccines. Join Dan, Brian, and Mike as they peek behind this curtain of secrecy to arm listeners with more information to live a disease free life. The RIOT grows! Support the RIOT! Episode 5 is here! One of the most common assumptions people have when considering a vegan diet is that meat-free eating consists of ample lettuce accompanied with large portions of porous blocks of plain, flavorless and dull tofu. Of course, a diet abundant in vapid soy curd is enough to make any plant eater shun tofu and lovingly embrace a heaping bowl of wet cardboard for dinner, right!?! Worng!
