Most leaders talk about AI. Far fewer put it to work inside their own walls. This conversation digs into what happens when a healthcare IT company decides to rebuild its operations, engineering cycle, and support model around AI instead of waiting on the sidelines. In this interview, Richard Atkin, CEO of Greenway Health, explains why he returned to the role and why he believes the company needs to move faster on AI development. We cover Greenway's internal deployment strategy, the creation of its new Agentic AI Factory with AWS, and how AI tools are reshaping release velocity and customer support. Atkin shares real examples from inside the organization, including how “Gale,” Greenway's AI support agent, is already changing day-to-day work.

This powerful episode of The Happier Life Project explores the healing potential of creativity and self-expression with artist, educator, and mental health advocate Liz Atkin — a woman who has transformed her experience of Compulsive Skin Picking and anxiety into extraordinary works of art, compassion, and connection. Liz's story is one of resilience and reinvention. Once a dancer, she discovered drawing as a way to self-soothe during her daily commute — a practice that soon became both her therapy and her calling. Through her project #CompulsiveCharcoal, Liz has gifted over 18,000 free charcoal drawings to commuters around the world — from London and New York to Singapore and Cologne — sparking conversations about mental health in the most unexpected places. Her work has been exhibited internationally and is held permanently in the Wellcome Collection, South London and Maudsley NHS Trust, Derby Museum, and the Bethlem Gallery Collection. Liz also teaches in schools, hospitals, hospices, prisons, and universities, and is an ambassador for The Big Draw, the world's largest drawing festival celebrating creativity for health and wellbeing. In this episode, Liz shares her compelling story — from the moment she first realised she was a skin picker to how it affected her quality of life and emotional wellbeing. She also talks about the coping strategies she tried, what led her to begin drawing on public transport to self-soothe, and the birth of her global initiative, #CompulsiveCharcoal. Host Gabby asks Liz about the emotional reality of living with a compulsion, her international work teaching art in schools, hospitals, and prisons, and why creativity is essential for mental health and wellbeing. A moving and inspiring listen about turning pain into purpose — and how creativity can become one of the most powerful tools for healing and human connection. Why doesn't the media name and shame the real villains of the climate change story? How can tobacco industry-like litigation impact fossil fuel companies? What are the obstacles of transitioning to a clean energy future? Zachary and Emma speak with journalist, author, and founder of the Heated Substack, Emily Atkin. They discuss the Trump administration's impact on worldwide climate policy and financing, the power of 24 American states participating in fossil fuel lawsuits and Paris Agreement goals, and how Germany walked back its renewable energy stance after Japan's Fukushima nuclear disaster. Emily also emphasizes the need for transparent journalism when covering climate issues. What Could Go Right? is produced by The Progress Network and The Podglomerate. Do you ever feel like your words have to be perfect before they see the light of day? You're not alone. Many first-time authors get stuck in this cycle, endlessly tweaking sentences. But the truth is, your first draft isn't meant to be flawless. It's meant to be a foundation. Writing a book is a process—one that will challenge and refine not only your ideas but your voice, too. Embracing imperfection is key because it allows you to move forward, learn, and create something that can be polished into a masterpiece later. I can introduce you to several Biz Book Pub Hub Partners, experts who can help you get through the writing process. Check out this free resource at www.BizBookPubHub.com. With that, let's dive into today's panel. Our authors will share their author journeys. Axel Meierhoefer wrote “THE IDEAL WEALTH GROWER: How to Journey to the Time Freedom Point and Beyond,” which offers a practical, anecdotal guide to real estate investment, drawing on over 20 years of experience to help readers navigate their investment journey and achieve financial independence. Barrie Atkin wrote, “HATE FUNDRAISING? How to Become Comfortable Asking for Money,” which is an invaluable skill at the moment. Every cause you care about needs funds, and with this book, you can put the cause first and leave behind your angst. Marlo Lyons wrote “Wanted -> A New Career: The Definitive Playbook for Transitioning to a New Career or Finding Your Dream Job,” a step-by-step playbook that helps individuals leverage transferable skills, overcome career obstacles, and confidently transition to their dream job, even without prior experience in the new field. Please join me in welcoming Axel, Barrie, and Marlo. In this episode, we discuss the following:

...in which Dave takes a midwinter stroll with author Polly Atkin to discuss The Company of Owls, Polly's new book about her tawny owl neighbours in Grasmere. Climbing from Town End onto White Moss Common, we consider the recent history of the surrounding landscape – from grazed pasture through makeshift 'hutment' settlement to the rich woodland of today that is home to deer, badger, fox and numerous birds. Arriving at a mossy oak, we learn about Polly's passion for owls, and the personal connection she formed with three new-born owlets. The little-known habits of owls are discussed – the long walks they take to explore territory; the on-and-off cohabitation arrangements of mate-for-life parents; and the pragmatic preservation of energy in death. Arriving at a nature-reclaimed pool, our conversation skips from owls to the Romantic poets, night-time walking, mythology and bluebells. Finally, arriving at Grasmere's Wishing Gate, we turn to Polly's award-winning Some of Us Just Fall, and talk about why the nature-healing narrative is a fallacy; and why the owls in this enchanted patch of woodland embody hope, sadness, anxiety, joy – but, most of all, continuity. WTF – What Trump F***s.*Beside his extensive sexual assault of women, Trump's political agenda involves violently assaulting the planet, climate legislation, industry regulations, state-led climate agendas and international negotiations. And that was just the first time round. His second term will likely be far worse, with his team having had four years to plan. Details from Project 2025—published by a think tank with links to the Atlas Network—show how Trump is likely going to strip climate legislation away and ramp up fossil fuel production. I asked Emily Atkin, editor of HEATED (which if you don't know, you should immediately subscribe to), to explain exactly what another round of Trump does to international and national climate agendas. My guest this week is Alister Atkin of Atkin Guitars.I've been following Atkin's progress for a few years now and have been blown away by the quality of guitars they're producing. They combine some cutting edge techniques with a bespoke approach, to bring out the uniqueness of every guitar they make. As Alister puts it: 'We're all about getting the feel and the sound of the instrument, and the aura of a great instrument.'We talk about some of these processes, including baking wood, freezing guitar bodies and even 3D printing moulds, as well as how Alister got into guitar making in the first place. We also chat about Atkin's White Rice model, a tribute to the Martin D28 owned by Clarence White, then Tony Rice (hence the name!) and the new range of electric guitars they're making. You can find info and drool over their guitars at https://atkinguitars.com/ and follow the Atkin Guitars Instagram feed for updates. But what I'd really urge you to do is to find one and play it, which you can do by checking the list of Atkin Guitar dealers around the world. It was a fascinating chat - I hope you enjoy it.Happy picking,MattSend a message to Bluegrass Jam Along!
